Cafe Confidential: An unfiltered and intimate memoir by Lynda Filler is an emotional and engaging book that is so vivid and easy to imagine. This is completely different from everything I have read previously by this author and it was lovely to be taken through her journey in such a wonderful way. The whole book has been written in a manner that makes it all seem so exotic and exciting while still also being completely relatable despite me not having had the same experiences.
I loved going on this journey with the author, it has really made me feel more connected to her than I though possible. This is a great book and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

I have been sitting with this book and my thoughts for three days now. Three days ago I sat down with a memoir that I was optimistic I’d enjoy because it was by one of my one-click fav authors. Three days ago this woman’s story sucked me in and took me on a whirlwind adventure with her and through her brain. I was impacted by reading this book in a way I didn’t know I needed. It’s needless to say this book completely exceeded my expectations.

I wish I could do what Lynda Filler has done, a whole eat, pray, love approach with quite a bit more flair and pizzaz and style in my opinion, but she grabbed her fate and future by the balls and went for it to find and feel her dreams. What an amazing feat to accomplish for sure, but then she wrote a book about it. Yall, I loved this more than I can say. It was raw, sassy, sexy, funny, and inspirational. What more could you want? I will for sure have a paperback copy of this on my bookshelf some day. I hope we will get more novels like such from Ms. Filler soon!

I found this book extremely enjoyable but for so many reasons. From traveling to the open possibilities of where it can lead us. I needed this book because I found the way the author wrote it to be rather refreshing, open-ended and to what possibilities as to what it would be as the world awaits you. I loved how we traveled with the author but it also showed women the power of not only love but self-love and where it leads you. This book was fun, exciting and refreshing with enriching lessons that we should hold near and dear to our hearts. Very nicely written!

CAFE CONFIDENTIAL: An unfiltered and intimate memoir by Lynda Filler is a non fiction adventure story. It is a story of the journey of our author who sold up and ventured into the unknown. It is a step by step look at her life going from place to place with no destination in mind but with only the thought of feeding her mind, body and soul. I was immersed in the story and it was over before I knew it, but it left an impression on me.

I finished this memoir 3 days ago…I can sincerely say it has not left my mind since completing it. I have been trying with all I have to figure out how to put words together to write a review for it. I will start by saying that without any doubt this is not just my favorite book of 2020 but is absolutely one of my top 5 of all time.

It all started Friday when I knew I had a few minutes and it was the next book on my kindle to read, I thought ok I’ll pick it up and start it and then planned to dive back in that evening when I was done with my day. Well, that plan went by the wayside 1 page in…

I was so engrossed in this authors story that when I say I read it in a little under an hour and a half I mean i didn’t walk or move without reading it…The world around me completely disappeared and I found myself seated next to this author experiencing the adventure she was taking me on. I am in awe….I was before reading this completely invested in the Code Raven series, which by the way I will be reading with a whole new appreciation when scenes include Luke, my favorite character, but after reading this and being invited inside the life of this amazing author im completely invested now in anything and everything this author writes.

There are many places throughout this book that I have bookmarked, many many words to live by that this author shared with us. I came away from this truly thinking about my life and how I live it. Happily married for 39 years and we still have many dreams to fulfill, this author has made all of that seem possible for us.

I loved Reading this story, and already want to read it again, but first I have more that I need to go one click by this author!

CAFE CONFIDENTIAL: An Unfiltered and Intimate Memoir by Lynda Filler is such an interesting and entirely inspiring story. I love to travel, but I really don’t think I could have done what Lynda did- sell up everything, and then jump on a plane with little more than a pocket full of one way tickets. That was really brave, and so adventurous.
This story takes us along on her travels, a real journey of discovery- whilst also sending a message that it’s never too late to follow your dreams. With photographs sprinkled throughout, they really help to enrich the story.
Ms. Fillers writing never fails to keep me captivated- and her memoir did all that and then some!
Inspiring!

Thank you, Lynda Filler!

I loved reading the story CAFE CONFIDENTIAL: An unfiltered and intimate memoir by Lynda Filler. It is a book that had me hooked from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I was finished. It’s a memoir by the author and she does an amazing job of making you feel her emotions and seeing her journey. From the way that she describes the many places that she has been to the people she has met; she has a way of making her journey come alive. I found the book inspirational and the author a truly gifted writer. I also enjoyed the photographs that are included. They take you along to faraway places and capture the beauty of each location. I enjoyed the information regarding not only the sites and places that she visits but also the people as well. Don’t miss out on taking an amazing journey that will touch your heart and soul. I highly recommend reading it.

I enjoyed this book. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. This is a well developed story that the author’s attention to details made me feel as if I was right there in each of the cities. I felt as though I was traveling right along with the character. I had no problems connecting with the characters as they brought the story and each city to life. This story is about someone selling everything they have to travel around in search of something, maybe romance or maybe themselves. What is found, you will have to read this book to find out. I highly recommend reading this story. It is engaging and fast paced, you won’t regret picking it up.

CAFE CONFIDENTIAL: An unfiltered and intimate memoir by Lynda Filler Author
Genre – Memoir, Self-help, Adventure (travel)
In 2018 three things happened that changed my life. First, I met a book critic from New Delhi on Goodreads, and we became very good friends. That same summer I spent a very long night on a flight to Paris and chatted the entire way with a young Muslim man who was on his way to Amman, Jordan for a wedding. And third, both things opened my mind to a world I’d never experienced so I made a decision to liquidate my life in Mexico and travel. I bought a series of one-way airline tickets with no return destination. Café Confidential is the story of my adventures and why I’m living in Istanbul today.

The Istanbul Conspiracy (Code Raven #7)The Istanbul Conspiracy by Lynda Filler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great read about weddings. Tensions run high and danger lurks when the daughter of the Minister of Defense and her new groom are found murdered. All Luke and Samaar want to do is get married on a yacht in Instanbul. But life seems to have other ideas in store for them when a security breach puts their plans on hold. With these targets on new couples, the team of the Raven Group race to find the culprits before they strike again. Can they find out the truth before it’s too late?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Luke determined but loving underneath or Samaar standing up for herself but vulnerable underneath.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the scenery of a Istanbul or Turkey with its seas and beaches for sense of peace and tranquility, but also foreboding bad tidings.
The switch of perspectives worked well to display both sides of the story and was easy to follow with names in the chapter titles. I also liked the use of suspense with small details revealed slowly to make you keep reading to find out who’s behind it and why they’re attacking weddings. Fast paced action and high stakes made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

5 out of 5 stars

The Istanbul Conspiracy is the 7th book in the Code Raven series written by Lynda Filler and she did not disappoint me I think this was the best book in the series. The characters are well written with strong personalities and I love their quirks and the way they interact with each other.

Luke and Samaar of the Raven Group have their own wedding to attend but it’s called off at the last minute when they uncover a breach in their security. Instead of returning to Paris, they come to the aid of the Turk to get to the bottom of this horrific event. Highly anticipated photos of the wedding of DJ Turk and the daughter of the Minister of Defense which has taken place on a mega-yacht on the Bosphorus in Istanbul now show’s corpses lined up along the dock and a bride covered in blood.
Was this a random act of terror, a targeted assassination of the Turkish political elite, or an attack on DJ Turk who leads a double life. With the conspiracy they uncover they must prevent it before the balance of power in the world is perilously reversed.
I highly recommend this book/series and please read the series in order so you can understand the concept of the series….

WOW!! The second I finished this story I immediately went to find the next in the series and wouldn’t you know its not available yet 🙁

I am so in love with this series I cant even stress that enough. This was an edge of your seat kind of story. I started it and did not put it down until I finished, my head was throbbing because I was reading so fast, I couldn’t stop myself. There is a lot of moving parts in this book and I loved how each chapter let me know where I was and that told me who I was with.

Get ready because this book starts out with high energy and never lets go. I love this team..Luke and Samaar are right up in the top of my favorite book couples ever, and I was thoroughly invested in the new characters that were introduced and so glad that so many of my instincts were right with these people. The twists that kept making my jaw drop were placed so perfectly making sure the reader had no clue they were coming, and our little Alice is growing up, I love how she is taking after her momma yet holding on to so much of her normal childhood spirit. Her part in this whole story was written perfectly!

The ending!!! Pieces started falling into place for me and I had to stop and think about them before I read on making whatever wait time I have till the next book almost unbearable. Ive decided to do a complete reread of this entire series timed perfectly for the next release. There is no way I can recommend reading this as a standalone, you absolutely must one click this entire series..It is Incredible!

The Istanbul Conspiracy is the seventh instalment in Lynda Filler’s Code Raven series! I have read most of the series so it was an absolute pleasure to spend some time with the Raven Group again! I have to admit that it seems that the series gets more thrilling with each book and I have no idea how the writer does it!! You finish the story and think gosh, I wonder what they will be facing next and here it comes, nail biting rollercoaster ride!
I love how every story has their own story line/case while still keeping the big picture that makes it really important to keep reading the series in order (it means that I need to go back and catch up and it is not a hardship!).
The Istanbul Conspiracy takes the team on the road to help one of their own whose life turns into tragedy on the day that is supposed to be the their happiest day. I love the bond that binds the group together as they truly are there for each other, at times putting their own plans and needs aside like it is this time.
Through twists and turns and guessing game we finally find out who, where and why and then, the writer throws in a special treat at the end! Thank you! I cannot wait to see what comes next for the Raven gang!

This was an awesome read! I was hooked from beginning to end! It was full of action and everything I’ve come to love from this author! It was really well written and I think probably my favourite from this series to date! I loved reading along with the Raven Group to see just if they could work out what had happened – I was left guessing on many occasions and I loved that the author was able to put in so many twists and turns! I liked that the story was told from multiple points of view. I loved seeing the characters from previous stories back again and I guess this could be read as a standalone I 100% recommend reading the whole series! I have followed the Code Raven books from the very beginning and was super excited to get my hands on this seventh book in the series, The Istanbul Conspiracy! This book would draw you in if you haven’t read the stories previous to this one just from the gorgeous cover alone! I adored that and it drew me in and set me up for the adventure that was behind the cover.

This book really brings the action and intrigue! Never a dull moment for the Raven team as they work hard to figure out who is behind a mass casualty event. Will they unearth a terrorist organization or will it be something completely unexpected? I loved how this made me feel as if I was right there as the action happened. It had me waiting and reading with baited breath as things played out to see how everything would come to a conclusion. A minor cliffhanger was there and so again I wait and am excited to get my hands on the next Code Raven book!

Luke and Samaar are finally getting married. Of course the day gets cancelled because they need to save the world again. DJ Turk and the daughter of the Minister of Defense of Istanbul tried to get married as well but theirs ended much more violently. The Raven Group gathers in Turkey to figure out what went wrong. Some conspiracies run deeper than others. Luke has to work with some other top secret agencies to figure this one out.

Another action packed, high intense espionage novel by Lynda Filler. I’ve read a few other books in this series and I’ve noticed the author’s writing strengthen throughout. This is the best book so far in the Code Raven series. The story is full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Everything is connected and boy, what an ending! The next book should be quite interesting.

You can’t deny that this author can write a story. This is the seventh book in this series and it didn’t disappoint. I really liked how this story was put together. It was fast paced and thrilling. You are on a never ending ride of mystery and danger. You will be on the edge of your seat. The conspiracy that is being plotted can not happen but it will take everything Raven has. These stories are better read in order because they are building up to some thing at least I get that vibe from the story. I don’t understand why people choose weddings to attack at. I would be so upset if someone ruined my day. I would be on a kill mission. The main characters are a group of secret agents. Each character is unique and interesting. They grow and thrive throughout the story. I really enjoyed the details the author put into the story. There is no way you couldn’t enjoy this story. The author gives you so much emotion and real life that you feel it like you were standing right there.

The Istanbul Conspiracy is the seventh thrilling instalment in the Code Raven series by Lynda Filler. This series just seems to get better and better, with each new instalment outdoing the one before. I don’t know how Ms. Filler manages to up the ante each time- but it sure makes for an exciting series.
As we have discovered in the previous book/s, this series centres around the Raven Group, which is a top-secret special ops team- and each book in the series chronicles the action-packed mission/s they embark on. Even though each book is a ‘new’ adventure- there is a larger picture being woven in the background- so I would really recommend reading all the books in order to get the most out of your reading experience.
All the action starts when a wedding becomes the scene of a violent attack. The Raven Group swoop in and do what they do best! Which makes for an engrossing read.
This is definitely one of my favourites of the series, so far- the story was action-packed and dramatic, with danger, intrigue, suspense, twists, mystery, adventure, and gripping situations.
A fantastic addition to the series! Can’t wait for more!

Thank you, Ms. Filler!

The Istanbul Conspiracy was a great five star read and book seven in the Code Raven series.

You get pulled in right from the beginning with a big wedding that turns tragic and another one that gets put on hold. When the Raven Group is hired to find out why Yunus and Sude’s wedding turned so tragic things get very interesting.

Why did the President cancel his attendance at the last minute but yet send his security? Will the Raven Group be able to solve the mystery? WIll Luke and Samaar finally get to say their I do’s?

There were several twists and turns throughout the book. I loved the guessing game of who, what and why. We get several POV’s in the book also. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. Lynda Filler has once again pulled me in with her writing and I couldn’t put it down. This is a great series and can be read as a stand alone, however I suggest reading from the beginning.

The Istanbul Conspiracy (Code Raven Book 7) by Lynda Filler is a series that centres around the Raven Group, a special ops and covert team. This group and other covert associates help to keep the world a safer place and no one’s the wiser. This time the team embark on a mission to aid one of them when blood is spilled at was is supposed to be one’s happiest times. This story is a little slower paced than all the running around and bullets flying as in the other books but in no way detracts from the story.

Luke and Samaar (Luci) have to abandon their own happiness due to a security breach but whilst they are whisked off to safety Luke learns of a terrible and bloody tragedy and decides to put his own needs aside to offer whatever help is needed for a friend in need. Himanish is once again doing what he does best, keeping tabs on everything, and coming to the aid of his friends to help them sort through all the information they can find and hopefully piece it all together. Are they dealing with a random act of terror, or was it a targeted assassination of the Turkish political elite?

I really enjoy this series and I look forward to the next adventure with these guys and gals.

After months traveling in Europe, the Middle East, India and Malaysia, she decided to put down temporary roots in Istanbul, Turkey! World politics aligned and Lynda found plots, mystery and romance in this stunning city once known as Constantinople. The Istanbul Conspiracy is book 7 in her Code Raven series. and she is currently working on Book 8.

Her work has received awards for both Contemporary Suspense and Fiction.

When she’s not writing, you can find her walking through the parks along the Bosphorus Strait, photographing street art and the Istanbul cats, reading, listening to music, and overindulging in chocolates from the Spice Bazaar. She is currently studying Turkish but is exceedingly grateful for Google Translate!
