Dangerous Ground: Tina And Chase’s Story by Alice Rachel, Underground Series

5-stars

This was a tragic, romantic, realistic novel. I could not put this book down. I do recommend that the reader read the other books in the series since it can be confusing at times. So much happened in this novel with both Chase and Tina. At times I was cringing while reading because of the violence taking place but I could not put it down. The scenarios in this novel seem so realistic and I could see things like this possibly trying to happen. I loved both the main characters personalities. I found both to be strong and courageous in their own ways. Chase’s character was my favorite. I couldn’t believe how much heartache he went through at the start of the book. It would have broken me but somehow, he managed to just barely hang on. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Truly was an interesting and determined main character of this novel. She worked three jobs just to make ends meet and was unable to recall her childhood. I was fascinated with her time spent at her doctor’s office attempting to regain those memories. I hated the amount of suffering she dealt with as a child. It broke my heart. I was intrigued with Jeff’s character as he worked to find the correlation of accidents happening and Truly’s past. I did not expect what happened at the end. Great novel!

This was such a wonderful and steamy read. Chloe, on search for a story, discovers a hidden castle. She is asked to leave by handsome and mouth watering Nathaniel. After attempting to find out more about the castle she is caught again on the property but is taken to the dungeon after Deryk, Nathaniel’s brother, finds Nathaniel trying to let her leave again. He was angry when he let her go the first time so he was determined to keep her and question her. What Nathaniel didn’t expect was for her to end up being his mate. The two can’t stay away from each other but there is more to being a mate than they realize.
I could not put this book down. I can’t wait to read the next in the series. I absolutely loved the characters, romance, and the different scenery. Chloe had a spitfire attitude that goes perfect with red heads. Nathaniel was very chivalrous and kind. I definitely recommend this novel!

Anna and Derek are meant to be mates but when her parents’ divorce, she is forced to move away with her mother at sixteen. Separated from each other they both believe that the other moved on. Ten years later as her father is starting to die, Anna returns to settle his accounts. She knows she will run into Derek.

Derek has been heartbroken for ten years since Anna left. It completely changed him. He hates that he let her go and has been unable to connect with his wolf since she left. When he finds out that her father is near death he begins to prepare for her returning, believing whole heartedly that she has moved on.

I loved following the reunion of these two wonderful characters. There were so many emotions present in this novel. I hated that the two lost all that time together. I found that the storyline was easy to read and get lost in. I also really enjoyed Spence’s character. He was Anna’s best friend.

Havanna is still struggling over her last breakup. She has sworn off guys and just wants to focus on earning her keep as a stripper. When the world goes crazy with what seems like a zombie apocalypse due to an issue with the Canine Flu vaccine three men are sent to retrieve her. Her former lover Nathan sends Mason, Liam, and Gabriel to retrieve her and keep her safe. He plans to make her his but the unexpected happens. Discovering that the men are not quite human she decides that they are hers. Does she have to claim just one or can she have all three. What will Nathan do when he finds out his friends have stolen his girls heart?

This novel was easy to read and get lost in. I could not put this steamy romance down. Liam, Mason, and Gabriel were described as sexy and strong. It was easy to picture these men as well as Havanna as the story progressed. I also liked that this paranormal steamy romance was mixed with a doom’s day type scenario. The scenario seemed very realistic.

This was an interesting novel. The author really catches your attention with the opening chapters. I loved following Laurie after she goes into Witness protection. The relationship that develops between her and Aiden as the story progresses was entertaining, sweet, and funny. I loved his personality and his character. It was easy to get lost in the banter back and forth between him and Laurie. Her character was my favorite. She was very strong and independent. She demonstrated that she was able to take care of herself and be prepared for the worst. I hate that she had to go through so much in the beginning with her ex-husband. I loved the small family she built for herself though. I was surprised with the way the ending went. I did not expect what happened. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

This novel is a short collection of essays that really make the reader see life in a different perspective. It helped me to see beauty in the average daily thing such as cutting an onion. This novel is composed of multiple short stories that are action packed and contain many wonderful characters. Each story was easy to follow and get lost in. My favorite story out of the entire book was Heart of The Cat. I loved the main characters Trescina and Walkyr. Both were not of the human species but found themselves on earth. I enjoyed reading several of the other stories. My second favorite is probably Starway with Nikka, Danyel, Star, and Koi. It was short and full of excitement! I was amazed with all the amazing authors contributions to this book.

What she doesn’t expect is that he walks out on her. Out of the blue just leaves. Her world is turned upside down and she starts to look at what she thought was a perfect marriage differently.

This was an amazing novel of self discovery, heart break, romance, and growth. Lia discovers who she really is in this novel and embraces her independence after her world is shattered. She was such a strong character that I couldn’t help but admire her. I also loved how well the novel flowed and kept my attention.

This novel was amazing. I could not put it down and was hooked from page one. There were several things that tugged at my heart strings as I read. I loved Shannon and John’s character. I really enjoyed their building relationship as the book progressed. I also enjoyed how the author portrayed the vets in this novel. Each one has their own struggles with their disabilities and to see how they lived with such strength was beautiful. I feel that this novel could be very inspirational to many because of that. I totally did not foresee what happened with Shannon and the ending was amazing. I felt so many different emotions while reading this novel and cant wait to read more from this author.

Kira recently divorced her former husband. Jamie is recovering from the loss of his wife 6 years ago. The two meet at a small town game where Jamie is umping. Taking a chance, they began to date. They both have a lot of baggage from their past to work through. This was a sweet romantic novel. I found the characters easy to relate to and they were very realistic. The storyline itself was very realistic and easy to follow. I was amazed at how much guilt Jamie had to work through on top of other things. It broke my heart. Kira was such an amazing and patient woman. I would not have been able to be patient with the things she was patient with. It seemed that she grew up learning to do that though as revealed through her past story in the novel. Such a great read!

Alexis is a rogue and has always kept to herself. She has never let herself stay in one place and has always managed to get by. She hasn’t ever wanted to stay in one place, not even for her sister, until she gets to know her sister’s former partner Bryce. Attractive, sculpted, and confident, Bryce is promoted to a new position. He is attracted to Alexis but afraid to share his sensitive side. She has her own secrets but as they spend more time together following a near death experience for Alexis they fall for each other. Alexis struggles to accept fate and let him in and does not want to get him mixed up in why she nearly died.

This was such a great addition to this series. It can be read as a standalone novel but I highly recommend reading the other books as well. The characters are developed well and grow as the storyline easily flows from one event to the other. It’s easy to get lost in this novel and lose track of time. There are a few sexual scenes they may be difficult for some but I felt that it gave the romance developing between the main characters some spice. Such a great read!

A beautiful yet tragic romance. Lucy has a hard life of abuse and just when she thinks she is out of it, she gets thrown back in. Dominic is obsessed with her and is jealous of people get to close to what is his. I honestly could not put this book down. It was full of heartbreaking events but the authors depiction of the story is magnificent. I was pulled in from the first chapter. There is a good amount of violence and abuse that takes place in the novel so readers who are bothered by that should not read this book.

Small Town Hero: Small Town Brides (Book 1) by Kim Koby

Small Town Hero by Kim Koby is a clean romance following Rebecca after she discovers her fiancé in bed with her best friend. She leaves and just drives until the point of exhaustion. After pulling off at a gas station to fill up and rest she wakes up 4 hours later to a car that refuses to start. After harassing her for loitering Ryan takes it upon himself to help her. After discovering that the nearest hotel is closed down for remodeling he offers to let her stay at his place in the guest room. Little does he know how much this small gesture would impact both of their lives.

I was amazed at how well Rebecca handled everything. If I were in her place I probably would have shut down and fallen into a world of despair. I loved how she was able to move past everything and even bring new joy into Ryan’s life. This beautiful novel was well written and clean. It focused mostly on n renewal but also shared how important the main characters faith was. I really enjoyed this novel and give it an easy 5-star rating.

Violet has a lot on her shoulders following her father’s death. He left a massive amount of debt behind and being a recent graduate she had hoped to gain a decent paying job to tend to her mother and keep the house. Unfortunately things don’t work out for her like she hoped and in order to pay off the debt she agrees to work as a maid in a home in Kuwait. As she steps into this different culture she learns a great deal on cooking their cuisine and tending to the family. Sadly other maids kept disappearing before she arrived and trouble lurks just around the corner.

  1. I love following Violet in a new culture. She was a fascinating character who experienced a lot of growth upon leaving home. I did not foresee many of the changes and events that occurred in her story and I felt that it kept it interesting. Something I took away from this novel though is that you have to work for what you want and to stay focused on that goal no matter what life throws your way. It also made me appreciate my family in a new light. Excellent read though and I definitely recommend this book.View all my reviews

Out of all of the Ash Park Novels this one by far is my favorite. Hannah Montgomery disappeared in the first book after escaping death from the Looking Glass Killer. She is discovered by Detective Petrosky and Detective Scott. She shares that she may have info on the person who killed Petrosky’s daughter so instead of hauling her in for questioning he provided her a safe place to stay.

  1. I loved Hannah being back in this novel. I really liked her character in the first book. The author never ceases to amaze me with the detail in her books. I also like that Petrosky seemed to be remade into a better man with this novel. This novel was also an emotional one but very enjoyable. I thought I had it figured out toward the end but there was a change I did not foresee.View all my reviews

This novel is amazing. The authors detail and main character development is wonderful. Every scene was easy to picture even though several were quite gruesome. This novel focuses on Detective Edward Petrosky and the changes his character faces.

Having read other novels associated with this series I can say that it can be read as a standalone book. Each book has a different main character but the other characters are mentioned and involved in each. Enough back story and detail are provided to keep the reader from being confused. I absolutely loved this novel. It kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time.

This novel has amazing characters and really focused on character development. A disagreement leads to a family feud that last for centuries. The two warring families have unique abilities. This novel follows the family with the ability to shift. They can shift I to various things but Kat has the ability to shift in to more than anyone. I loved Kats character. She just wants to live a normal life but has to leave school when she finally shifts. It’s hard on her at first but once she accepts her ability things tend to get easier for both her and her family. This novel was definitely not what I expected but I really enjoyed reading it.

Releasing the Demons by L. D. Rose
This 5-star novel was exciting, and action packed. Vampire hybrids vs regular vampires to keep the human population safe. Vampires have taken over many parts of the world and conquered parts of cities. People are afraid to be out after dark and do their best to not be taken. Blaze is unique and has the control of fire as well as his other amazing hybrid abilities. He struggles to control himself even though it has been years since he was held captive and tortured. He fights his inner Demon the vampire part to keep from falling into the black hole of despair and giving into the desire to feed off the humans. When someone begins targeting him and those who are close to him things heat up. He meets Detective Valarie who seems to get caught in the crossfire. She has a grudge against vampires and seeks to find the one responsible for all the murders that seem to lead straight to Blaze.

The author did an amazing job with this novel. The storyline easily flows and is action packed keeping the readers attention. There is also a touch of Romance between the main characters Detective Valarie and Blaze. The main characters are passionate about what they don in this novel and are easy to like. It was easy to imagen the world in which these individuals lived even though it would be a tad bit scary to have vampires take over like they did.

Beneath a Blue Moon (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen
This is book two in the series and it follows Chase second in command to Luke the alpha. Chase is wary of witches and avoids anything to do with them at all costs due to an event from his past. When he meets Rain a cursed witch he tries his best to avoid her even though the Alpha has put him on cake duty which deals with her directly. He is fine with just being civil until he realizes she is his fate bound. When an energy vampire begins targeting witches his protective instincts arise. Can he protect her while also keeping his family safe from her curse. Will he be forced to pick between his mate and the pack?

I loved this novel and both the main characters Rain and Chase. Rain had a spunky personality, strong will, and was full of compassion. She looks for ways to end her curse and hates that it causes others with witch blood harm for their kindness. Chase is a great guy. He is dedicated to the pack and to his family. He also sounds mouthwatering from the description in the book. I loved following the romance between the two and the storyline was easy to follow. I could not put this novel down. That’s why I rate it 5 stars.

I absolutely loved the storyline of this novel. I was worried that I would be lost since I did not read book 1 but the author did a great job of building this story where the reader does not need to read the first. There was so much taking place with Zeph and his emotions as he tried to fight the darkness. This book is definitely a 5 star book.
