love a good shifter book and this one definitely met my expectations. Could be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the series from the start. Delta and Jax are both extremely likable characters, and I felt they had great chemistry. The author has done a great job of world building and plot writing, pulling me into the story and wanting more. Cant wait to see what comes next in this series!

4 stars!

I did not read the first 2 books in the series but, I would definitely recommend reading them to get some background on what is going on. I can say I still enjoyed this book. I love to see dragon shifters, because most of the time it’s wolves or bears. Delta and Jax are lovely together, I really enjoyed watching Jax toy with the emotion that Delta couldn’t be his soulmate because she is a shaman, but his reoccurring dreams featuring her, and a chance meeting while saving her from a sorceress cements the reality that they are destined to be together. They work together to defeat the most powerful vampire and along the way the love between them sparks. Their romance is steamy and sweet. I look forward to seeing more of them.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. This is the third book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous books to help enhance not only your enjoyment of this series but also this author. I enjoy this author’s writing style as well as her attention to details. Her stories are realistic and hard to put down. This book is no different. This is a well written story about Delta and Jackson. She is a shop owner and shaman and is about to take an adventure of her life. He thinks that he has returned home to die until he meets her. This is where the story takes on soul mates, secrets and destiny. You don’t want to miss what happens next with these two. They are great strong characters that are creative and made the story come to life. They pulled me into the story and took me on a nonstop adventure. This is a great book that is worth the pick up for sure. I highly recommend this book and this author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As with the other books in this series this is a paranormal shifter story and an interesting read. It can be read as a standalone, but you should start from the beginning. It had everything I love to keep me engaged. With shifters – dragons and vampires, evil sorceress and magic, mystery and drama, and quirky characters there is so much to enjoy in this book. Add in a little mystery, action and danger, some romance and passion and you are ready for an afternoon delight of getting lost in the story and the world the author has created.
Her destined soulmate is of the rarest form of shifter but to save mankind she has to do the unthinkable. He has nothing left but to die. However, he soon learns that fate has led him the most perfect gift. Now if only they can convince her to claim her destiny.

Jinxed (Hell on Heels, #2)Jinxed by Maggie Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a good story. It took me on a ride and answered all the questions I had. It’s a shorter story so everything moves at a quick pace. This more of a mystery than a romance. Sadie Is having problems..she thinks she is going crazy. But her delightful friends help her and we have Mitchell arrive to give her a hand. I didn’t love this one as much as I did the first one. It seemed a bit more serious. I do love that cover though! Looks like Chloe is up next.

Jinxed (Hell on Heels, #2)Jinxed by Maggie Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Hell on Heels series. I highly recommend reading the first book to have some background knowledge. The plotline is engaging. The characters really bring life to this story. Sadie is a small store owner. She is a holistic medicine woman, an empath, and a crystal collector. She is a free spirit and five soul sisters that share her abilities. They help keep in the here and now. She does have a business partner who is in the occult. The problem is that Sadie’s past is coming back to haunt her. What will happen to Sadie? Will her past be her undoing? Will there be someone else that she needs to stay clear of? I highly recommend this book to find out what happens to Sadie? Will her past stays in the past or will it continue to haunt her? I highly recommend this book to see what happens to Sadie.

What a wonderful story! Sadie and Mitchell are adorable in their attraction for each other. Sadie’s group of “soul sisters” are a very eclectic bunch. Mitchell jumps to protect Sadie when he hears that she is on trouble. Her store may be haunted? Noises and disembodied voices calling her name? Is it ghosts? Mitchell is determined to find out! A story of learning to trust in others and to trust that you can do anything as long as you start true to yourself.

After eating and drinking, they finally convince her to spill the secrets she is so insistent on keeping close to her chest and the result is not what they expected in the slightest and they struggle to see how this information could be so dangerous to them, let alone Sadie herself, but she eventually agrees to Mitchell helping her out, despite the fact that he broke her heart the last time she saw him and they have no idea it even happened. Two days later and Sadie is at the airport picking Mitchell up, she is a bag of nerves and cannot deny that she is still attracted to him and that he makes her heart and boy do things she doesn’t want to and he insists on driving as she fills him in on the current situation.

When they get to her apartment, Mitchell insists on staying and investigating the things causing her anxiety, but much to Sadie’s horror, he moves the furniture out of place and proceeds to tell her that he will be sleeping in the same bed as her as well so that he can protect her. Will Mitchell be able to solve the mystery of her present, the conundrum of her past while she tries not to get her heart broken again? This is a romance with a dark twist which is as unpredictable as it is romantic, but will keep you hooked as you travel along Sadie’s path with her.

Miranda Blake is in her fifties and thought she had her life all sorted out, apart from being a bit klutzy, that is until her husband suddenly wants a divorce, her out of his life and their house within a couple of weeks while he is on a cruise they were meant to be going on together, talk about a bombshell! As he prepares to leave the house, she is equally panicked and angry, she hasn’t worked since she got married, she gave up things for him and he repays her by having an affair, but she does give him a piece of her mind, which he doesn’t expect, but the satisfaction for Miranda is just what she needed, until exhausted she collapses into the spare bed. The next morning, she wakes up feeling worse for wear, but better after a shower, until one of her best friends comes in, gun in hand and nearly shoots her when Miranda attacks her with a hairdryer, both are as surprised as the other but when Miranda explains the situation amid floods of tears and collapses into another exhausted sleep and wakes up with her other friends rallied around her and ready to help out any way that they can, including talking her through why they love her and giving her soon to be ex-husband the nickname of “Rat Bastard”.

As the deadline to leave her home advances, she gets some advice and more help from her friends as they talk about what needs to happen for the divorce to happen and then after packing up her belongings, they discover that they need to take her shopping as he owns everything, including the clothes on her back. As the impromptu shopping trip starts to slow down and the ladies hit Starbucks, they insist that she does a catwalk strut, but when she tries, her klutzy nature comes to the fore and her new heels get stuck in a hole in the sidewalk and she stumbles face first into the lap of an extremely handsome man, much to her embarrassment., but it proceeded to become a horror show when she used his sensitive parts as leverage when she tried to get up which led to her falling back on her rear end all over again. This incident doesn’t stop him from introducing himself, asking for her number and promptly asking her out to dinner the next day and yet again her friends rally round and help her to get ready for her first date in years. As the drink and conversation flow, they get on well and when she blurts out that she needs a job, he says he will see what he can do when he casually name drops that he has a brother who owns the company he also works for and when his brother goes past them and introduces himself, she is a little lost for words and at the end of the night, she doesn’t know which of the two she would prefer.

As the ladies gossip and demand the details from the date as they work on her resume so it is ready when he calls her a few days later and says that a position has opened up as an executive secretary and has set up an interview for her as he thinks that she will be perfect for the position and she does get it, as the lady she is replacing is about to give birth. As she is settling in to her new role, she overhears some conversation she isn’t overly happy about, but she isn’t in any position to challenge, or change, however, when the boss steps in and helps her out with it, she realises that she is going to have to figure out what shape the future is going to take and is asked to move to be his assistant when the one she has stepped in for returns after her maternity leave, this leads to her helping to organise an important fundraiser and while she is at the mall looking at things in person, she has to pop to the bathroom to avoid being caught while overhearing another conversation, however, when she comes out and tries to ignore the sales assistant hailing her, she runs into the boss whom she was just listening to, but her inability not to embarrass herself comes crashing in when she realises that she has been mooning the entire mall and while trying to put her clothing back into place, another unfortunate incident involving her underwear happens. Will Miranda ever be able to get through a situation without embarrassing or injuring herself, or will this nature be her undoing? Will she be able to get through the divorce without anything else getting in the way, or will disaster strike again and her choices be taken out of her hands? This is a romance in an unusual generation which makes it even more humorous as it is romantic and will keep you entertained all the way through and wanting to know more about the adventures of this group of friends at the end.

Jinxed is the second book in the Hell on Heels series. Sadie is well, Sadie. She is in touch with the world around her, but she is completely clueless about what she needs. When her world turns upside down, Sadie must stop running from her past. These stories are so amazing! This group of friends is full of strong, unique women who know that family is not always blood. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The first installment in the Hell on Heels series by Maggie Adams is a hoot! Minx is a romantic comedy jam-packed with laughs, tears, and relatable situations. The protagonist, Miranda Blake, is a middle-aged wife who has centered her life around her family for the last twenty five years. When she suddenly finds her world flipped upside down, she must rely on her best friends for help. The characters are real and relatable and the story is engaging. I found this to be an easy read as I became invested in the characters and what was going to happen next. I recommend Minx with 4 out of 5 stars, and will be looking forward to reading the next installment.

Jinxed (Hell on Heels, #2)Jinxed by Maggie Adams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I previously read the first installment of Hell on Heels and enjoyed it. I loved this one even more. My only complaint about this book is that it is too short! This is a fun, easy-to-read story that contains steamy romance and witty characters. Sadie, our protagonist, is a healer and is concerned that she’s being haunted. She relies on her “soul sisters” (who were introduced in book 1 of the series) for guidance; however, one of them has a brother, Mitchell who just so happens to be Sadie’s complete opposite. She wants nothing to do with him, but the universe obviously has different plans. The dialogue between characters is witty, and this keeps up the pace of the story which definitely makes it a page-turner. I recommend this book if you are looking for a quick and light-hearted, but steamy, read. This 5 star book will not disappoint.

Jinxed Hells on Heels #2 by Maggie Adams

This is the second book I’ve read by Adams. Jinxed is another great read and I loved every minute of it. This is a short read.

Sadie has been running from her past for twenty years. When things are going wrong she turns to her friends. When one friend calls in her brother things seem to get worse. The quote I chose for Sadie is: “If that’s true, I have to find out what’s in that vaccine and fix it before the final trials. If I can’t, then I have to shut them down.”

Mitchell is a retired FBI Agent. When his sister calls saying that she needs him there he goes. When he finds out that Sadie is the one in trouble he really helps. The quote I chose for Mitchell is: “That child just about kicked my a** a minute ago! And I was getting the information we needed.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Comedy lovers.

Minx Hell on Heels #1 by Maggie Adams

This is the first book I’ve had the chance of reading by Adams. Minx is an amazing read and I can’t wait for the next book.

Miranda is an older woman who has been married for twenty-five years. Now her ex husband wants a divorce. Her friends rally around her and help her figure out her new single life. The quote I chose for Miranda is: “You guys love me, you have to say that.”

Reed is the big boss of the family company. His younger brother Ritter is going around telling everyone that he and Miranda are in a relationship. The quote I chose for Reed is: “Why do you insist on wearing these stupid shoes? You are going to kill yourself! Do you realize you could have broken your neck? Falling over the edge of the railing? My God, isn’t that how you met Ritter, tripping over in heels landing in his lap?”

Highly recommended for Romantic Comedy lovers.

Man this book is small and mighty and packed with intrigue and a dash of romance to boot. I really was quite taken back how short this book is but how effective the story was. The author has really packed this book and it lives up to the saying good things come in small packages.#

I really liked Sadie and rooted for her from ths start. I am so glad that she stayed and fought. The author really brings her to life and with her friends I felt as though I was right there with them. I could feel all her anxieties and fears. I really like how the author has written this and find her refreshing. I will definitely be reading more from her and this series.

This is the second book in the Hell on Heels series and I really enjoyed this. It is a short read but you get a complete story and it’s a gripping on.

Sadie is an empath. She believes in all things spiritual and she is living her dream running her crystal shop. However things aren’t what they seem when secrets in her past come back to haunt her.

Add to this a lover who returns after breaking her heart and Sadie has 2 mysteries  to solve.

Can Sadie and Mitchell work out who is trying to harm her and stop them? Will they finally get together or is Sadie setting herself up for heartbreak again.

This was a really enjoyable read. The author does a great job building her characters. You can help cheer for the lead character Miranda as she goes through her life.

Miranda thought her life was set in stone. Married to a man for 25 years with kids being a housewife and mother. However that all changed when her husband admits to an affair and wants a divorce.

Now she has to learn to relive her life starting with a job.
When she is taken on as a personal assistant to Reed her life changes forever.

Reed and Ritter are brother with a successful firm. Reed is the serious business man whereas Ritter is a playboy. Which one will steal Miranda’s heart?

Jinxed (Hell on Heels, #2)Jinxed by Maggie Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jinxed is the second book in Maggie Adams’ Hell on Heels series. It focuses on Sadie Beauchamp, a natural healer who faces some difficult decisions and whose life is made more difficult by the fact that she appears to be being haunted.
Sadie has a great group of friends around her. I particularly like Mitchell, whose down-to-earth approach balances Sadie’s worldview. It was also great to catch up with Miranda, the protagonist of the previous book in the series, and the other “sisters”.
Jinxed is a fun, short book – great if you’re after something you can read in an afternoon. The main story is nicely resolved, with the promise that another character’s story will be told in the next book. It gets four stars from me, and I’d recommend it to rom-com fans, particularly those interested in holistic medicine.

Four Stars

I love a good book about friendship. I story that brings unlikely friends together. This story was a short and fun read. The author gave us what we needed to enjoy this book. The characters were interesting. I enjoyed how quirky Sadie is. She gives me loving vibes. When her past comes beck to haunt her she is hesitant to tell her soul sisters. What she failed to remember is that family takes care of family no matter the problem. Then there is Mitchell. He is so protective. He really tries to save everyone. That need to keep others from harm shows that he feels like there was someone that needed him that he could help. I loved the bonds and dynamics between all the characters. The haunted house part was wild and fun to see the spin the author took with it. Overall a good read.

I was incredibly excited when I first read the synopsis because honestly, this short read has everything I love. This short story is less than 100 pages in length so really, what harm is there to take a chance on this (in my opinion) 5 star read?

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the Hell on Heels series from Maggie Adams, so book two was a no brainer one-click for me. This book is probably safe to read as a standalone if that is more your thing though. I really love how relatable Maggie Adams manages to make her characters. They are realistic and encounter realistic things that make it that much more believable.

In this quick but packed read, Jinxed, we get the story of Mitchell and Sadie. These two are the epitome of opposites attract and reading the journey is both a funny and loveable read. I really was pulling for these two to get that happily ever after. I cannot wait to see what the next book may bring us.
