Misfortune of Song: Druid’s Brooch Series: #5 by Christy Nicholas is a blend of fantasy history and Celtic mythology and is another great addition to the series. It is a story that will have your emotions all over the place and will have you laughing and crying. This book can be read as a standalone, as most of them can, but I would read them in order.
Maelan is a man of honour and code, but sometimes his granddaughter, Orlagh could drive him to drink. How far would he go to protect the one thing he loves in his life?
Orlagh is stubborn and bullheaded and often rebels against her grandfather. She wants what she wants and what she wants is the young man she has fallen in love with, be damned the consequences.

Wolf (Fairy Tale Series Book 3) by Jody Lynn Daniels was a page turner, and once I started reading I couldn’t put this book down.
My first read from this author and from this series, I fell quickly into this sweet second chance romance. Well written, easy to read, this little wonder is full of passion, good feels, and puts a new kind of spin on a favorite fairy tale. Tolde in dual POV we get both sides of the story, rounding out this heart puncher.
As much as I loved this book, there were a few things that bothered me. One was the CPR scene, not so much the CPR in itself, but the fact that the person requiring it wasn’t taken to the hospital after. Anytime CPR is perform you need to take the casualty to the hospital, because there’s a good possability a rib or two got broken in the process. The other thing was that, Sasha, just kind of disappeared towards end of the book. She was such a force, and prominent character, then that, after a certain breakdown, the author, just kind of, left her out of the ending. I felt there was a missed opportunity there, especially with Carson.
Other then that, I loved the plot, and the growing connection between the two MC’s. Their romance grew at a steady pace, it never felt forced or awkward. There was time for both of them to grow and rediscover their emotions. Carson was a sweet guy, like, I think I fell for him. He gave Maggie space and time, but I do feel like if he told the truth from the get go, then it would have solved a lot of problems, especially when he told like three people before her. But as a whole, I think Carson stole the show and really carried the story.
Overall this story is sweet, heart melty and just full of those good feels. I’m definitely going to be checking out the other books, so please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will get lost in this modern retelling of red riding hood.

I won’t lie this is a series I’ve become obsessed with! This is the 3rd book in the Liberty Lawrence series and even though it reads as a standalone, it’s one of those I would suggest to read from the very beginning. Not only because it’s AWESOME but it gives a lot of character details that I love!
Libby has to be one of my fav Heroine’s ever. She beautifully awkward but also just beautiful. She’s completely relatable and I love her. Reading book 3 is like catching up with an old friend that you love.
She has a new job, one she loves, but not the boss but things aren’t adding up and she’s wants to find the truth behind it all!
I have loved this series from the beginning. Libby is completely relatively relatable and I always get excited when solving crime. I’m dying for book 4

A fun paranormal mystery that is is also a sweet romance. I believe that if this didn’t have the paranormal element, it could definitely be classified as a cozy mystery
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION is a shorter story that has twists and turns along the way. The female protagonist is someone I would want to be friends with.
This is a great start to what I anticipate will be a fun series. I would recommend this book to book clubs and knitting circles alike.
North to Nara (Crimson Sash Book 1) by Amanda Marin 4 out of 5 stars This dystopian fantasy novel is a fantastic debut novel to this series. This story was both vibrant and enigmatic. I was hooked from the first chapter. This is very reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet of the star crossed lover’s territory, without the tragic double suicide. Very forbidden love. Neve and Micah are both intriguing characters that are very engaging and you will easily fall into their lives, their wants and their desires. Micah is so sweet to Neve and Neve supports Micah with all of her heart and soul. The emotion between these two is so strong you can feel it through the pages. Ms Martin did an incredible job of creating a world full of vibrancy, emotion, and passion. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series.

Back in the Ring is the fourth book in Brooke May’s The Predator Series. I had not read the first three books and Back in the Ring is my first read by this writer BUT it will NOT be the last one! I will need to go back and start from the beginning … I know that the Predator appeared in this book for 5 seconds (or so) and you can read every story in the series as a standalone … alas, I have learnt that you definitely get more enjoyment out of books in a series when you read the whole series. Back in the Ring is the story of Bijou Augustine, a widow who lives in a small town with her young daughter and runs a youth centre that was her husband’s dream, and of Noah Stone, a grieving man that lost his wife a year earlier and has escaped to this small town with his toddler son. Bijou is what you see – hard working, passionate, working hard on keeping her husband’s legacy alive … and in this declining economy not doing too well … Noah is a different story, he looks like a mountain man with the weight of the world on his shoulders … he harbours secrets tough and you will want to ride a long on their journey to a future … It was a great story with well-developed characters, I absolutely loved the children – they added realism and cuteness to the story! And I wish I had a best friend like Bijou had … every woman needs their own Mara! I cannot wait to see what the writer brings next to the table!

His First Lady by Avery Scott was a sassy political fake relationship romance. I have been on a fake relationship trope lately but I wasn’t too sure on the political part of this book. But Avery’s writing had me glued to my kindle; I even read at the dinner table because I needed to keep reading.
Michael Reese is a 2-time divorcé who is running for president and according to his campaign manager (who I wanted to punch a few times) is in need of a girlfriend. Looking over the staff meeting table Michael lays eyes on his speech-writer Kendall. These two had amazing chemistry and could flirt with the best. The only problem I had with them is that they needed better communication but I would add that as a learning curve. Could Kendall really be his First Lady?
If you’re looking for a funny fake relationship romance with a little bit of politics mixed in, you will like this book.

There is something about lattes that I can not figure out, but I do love a good tea time from time. The Woman America Loves a Latte is a book that gives a chance of a new life. Ms. Holly Tierney-Bedord does an amazing job storytelling. Her characters are my book friends. I can see hanging out with Vee. This story has it all mystery, suspense, drama, and a little bit of romance. Vee has not been on the easy side of life’s lessons. She has landed a job promoting (you’ll never guess what) across the country. If you have not guess what it is yet it is for Caprice Cappuccino chain. What an adventure of a lifetime for Vee and she goes on the promotion tour. If you want to know more about the adventure you will just have to read the book.

I absolutely loved this story! Ive not read any others from this series but it read to me as a standalone. This was a story about second chances at love for both characters after loss. I really felt we learned alot about Bijou but not a ton about Noah, I wish we could’ve been in his head! I can’t say much about this story without giving the main points away but this was a must read and now I’ll be reading the previous books to read of other characters in this series!

Seraphina’s time has finally come! This is book 4 in the Seraphina Series. And what an ending this is! This series has been watching Seraphina’s change and growth while she learned to literally take on the world.
Characters from the previous books have returned to help and hinder Sera. In fact, each book picks up where the last one left off. Hutchinson’s world is filled with Angels, Demons and creatures both good and bad, which makes this book and series a must read.
Hutchinson’s writing style through out this book (and series) is easy to read, IF you have read the previous books. I highly recommend this fantasy series and am looking forward to reading more from this author!

Presidential candidate Michael Reese thinks his campaign manager Tom is crazy when he suggests Michael find a pretend girlfriend to soften his playboy image. On a whim, he glances around at the females on his team and discovers his only option there is his speech writer, Kendall. Wanting someone he can already trust for the job, he asks and she reluctantly accepts. After all, what could go wrong?! While the premise of this story is not new, I still loved how Avery Scott told this story. Kendall is a great character who seems to fight herself the entire book, trying to figure out how she really feels. She seems tailor made for Michael and the tasks at hand, managing it all like a pro. She tries to stay professional, but who can resist a man like Michael?! The note at the end of the book from Aver y Scott promises extra scenes from the book on her website, but the website seems to be down, so now I’m begging Avery Scott for a sequel! Wolf by Jody Lynn Daniels is the third book in the Fairy Tale series. I found this book to be full of emotion and so easy to connect with. This was a new author to me and I enjoyed her style of writing. It was a story that was written in a way that you couldn’t help but like he characters and become invested in their journey. The characters really brought out a whole range of emotions. I could feel the sadness behind them but there was also joy and lightness to them. Overall I have to say I was impressed with this book and it is definitely s good read. I would highly recommend this book.

A Wicked Earl’s Widow by Aubrey a Wynne is the second book in the since Upon A Widow Series. This is a brilliant example of historical romance and is a book that will grip you from start to finish. Reading this book make me feel like I was transported into the story. Eliza and Nate were the perfect characters for each other. The way their story’s connected and added to the overall depth of the story was great. This is an author that I am always guaranteed to enjoy whatever they write. Aubrey has such an easy writing style that you find yourself immersed in every story. This was an overall great book.

Jody Lynn Daniels is a new author for me, but after reading Wolf, I can for sure say it won’t be my last! Even though this is Book 3 in The Fairy Tale Series, these books can be read as stand-alone’s but after reading this one, it will make you want to go back and read the previous 2 books in this series, just to see who’s character journey we will follow. This is an easy flowing read that captivating and engaging from the start until the end. In this book we follow Maggie & Carson as they go along on a journey of rediscovery, overcoming their past and finding out that they can get a second chance whether it’s with the one person you never expected.
This book has some painful and upsetting moments especially in moments of realisation for Maggie her pain is real and raw. One thing I will point out with this read was that I loved the fact with knowing what Carson does for a living and how he comes across is that he has raw & real emotions and he isn’t afraid to show them. But between the sad upsetting moments, there is plenty of sweet, happy, fun & beautiful moments between the characters and the storyline.
This is a beautiful book of second chances, love and happiness. This is a read not to be missed, I can’t wait to see what Jody Lynn Daniels does next and where this series will take me! I can’t wait to read more!

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this story, I liked that the blurb was a little on the vague side as it meant I was going in without any real expectations – it is also a genre that I have read a lot of so that added to the intrigue for me and so I loved that I got such a well written and wonderful story to read. It didn’t take me long at all to become completely absorbed into the authors writing – I was pleasantly surprised to find out that North to Nara is also the authors debut novel. She should definitely be very proud of what she has written. The level of detail enabled me to completely imagine what I was reading. Her characters we well thought out and I really enjoyed reading about them. I think one of the things I liked was that although I knew what I wanted to happen in the story the author wasn’t afraid to take the story in differing directions that constantly kept me guessing about what might happen! She has definitely set the scene for an amazing series and I can’t wait for the next book!!

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. This is a well written, creative, emotional story. The characters brought the story to life for me and kept me engaged until the end. They are true to life and connectable. This is about Maggie who has been living at her brother ranch and seems to have life on track. But when “the wolf” shows up bring past feelings with him, what will she do? You will not regret picking this book up, I highly recommend it.

I absolutely loved this story! This might be the fourth book in The Predator series and I read it as a standalone but I had no problems at all understanding what was going on. I believe each book can be read as a standalone however after reading about these characters I absolutely want to read the other books in the series too! Back in the Ring was a wonderful story, the authors writing was captivating, exciting and entertaining. It didn’t take me long at all to fall in love with the characters in this book at all. Both Bijou and Noah’s stories were really emotional and I have to say I was totally rooting for them the whole way through, I thought that they both deserved to find happiness again after both suffering such loss in their lives. I could really feel every emotion that poured out of them and I thought that that author did an amazing job with them. I really cannot wait to read more by this author again in the future!

I loved this book! One of the things I love about this author’s books is how she is able to pull me into the story, make me feel as if I am part of the story and this story is no different. This is a well written, creative story that kept me engaged until the end. In this book we get to see Luke and Connie’s story. They bring drama, action and of course steam. They have a great connection, I wanted them to find their HEA. I loved seeing characters from previous books as well. A must read!

I loved this book! After reading and loving the first book in this series I was really excited to start book 2 and I wasn’t disappointed! I think that I have definitely found a new historical romance writer to love! I loved all the twists and turns this story held, there were some that I definitely didn’t see coming. I loved Eliza and I really did feel sorry for her, she was in the clutches of some pretty nasty family who were determined to marry her off to someone equally as horrible. I loved how the author made me hate characters as well as love some of them! I was definitely waiting for something to happen to Eliza’s father so that she could lead a happy life! I will absolutely be looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future and would highly recommend this book to lovers of historical romance and also for anyone looking to read something a little different! Although part of a series this book can be read as a standalone! I can’t wait to read book 3 in the series!

This is a sweet romance story that is well written, creative and engaging. The characters are realistic, connectable and enjoyable. This is about Beth who is a school teacher and wants to help a student. Then you have Autry who is a playboy whose father gave him a challenge to remain celibate. When he tries to help Beth, things could change for him. Will he lose more than just his heart? I enjoyed their banter back and forth and they have great chemistry. I highly recommend this book.

I loved this book! This is a creative, humorous, suspenseful crime story. It is fast paced, engaging, and I read it in one sitting. The story is well written as well as the characters made the story come to life, even made me laugh out loud a few times. I loved P.J., she is a smart character that knows how to get things done. She is a news reporter and a private eye who is about to take on her first case. What will be harder for her, solving the case or staying alive? This is a must read!

The story Wolf: Book 3 in The Fairy Tale Series by Jody Lynn Daniels is a wonderful book to read. It draws you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go until you have finished the last page. I loved reading about the characters of Carson “The Wolf” Marrok and Maggie Obrien. Maggie is a strong, independent, kind, and stubborn woman. She enjoys living on a ranch with her brother, taking care of her daughter, and helping others. She still feels the pain of her husband’s death. Then the man that she believes sent her husband to die appears on the ranch. Carson is caring and volunteers his time to help children with disabilities. He is a career Army man. He has found himself on the same ranch as Maggie. What will happen now that they have seen each other again? Read this book to find out. This story had my emotions going up and down with the characters. The characters of Carson and Maggie are ones that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. I also enjoyed reading about the other characters that are introduced and interact with Maggie and Carson. This story is one that had me with a smile on my face as well as laughing. There are times when the characters feel conflicted and upset. There are also those moments that are unforgettable and heartwarming. Highly recommended.

The story Hell On Heels (PJ Santini Series: Book One 1) by Lynne Russell is the kind of book that grabs your attention from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until you have finished the final page. It is fast-paced and will have you turning pages to find out what happens next. I loved reading about the main character of PJ Santini. She is witty, intelligent, independent, and stubborn. She is both a TV news reporter and private eye. She is a woman that once on an assignment is determined to find out the answers and truth of what happened. This story finds her with the assignment to find the missing journalist Gerald “Siggy” Sigmund. Will PJ find out the reason that he has disappeared? Will she find “Siggy?” Read this book to find out. Two other characters that I enjoyed reading about are Johnny Renza and Tango Daly. Johnny is the first boy that PJ ever loved. Tango is her private detective boss. There is an attraction between her and Tango that is steamy and makes the temperature in the room rise. Other characters that you read about include her Sicilian family. There are times when I found myself on the edge of my seat and other times when I was laughing out loud. The story made me feel like I was with PJ on her assignment sorting everything out. This is a book that I would highly recommend reading. It is a wonderful first book in a series and I can’t wait to read more about PJ.

Hell on Heels by Lynne Russell was a truly entertaining read from start to finish! The storyline really intrigued me, and I loved the main character and all her crazy antics. Hell on Heels is the first book in the PJ Santini Series, a series I can’t wait to continue reading!
This crime read seemed to have it all, plenty of detail and intrigue, mystery, twist and turns and my personal favorite humor. It was a well-blended story that kept me on my toes!

Michael Reese is running for President of the United States in His First Lady by Avery Scott. Michael’s campaign manager believes that the twice divorced Reese needs a First Lady to help generate votes. Kendall Bailey is the candidate’s speechwriter who also happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when Michael agrees to taking on a First Lady. In the beginning Kendall balks at the idea but once she gets to know Michael, she changes her mind. Will being in the spotlight help or hurt Michael’s campaign? Will Kendall be able to fake her position or will she even need to fake her feelings? While I don’t normally like political reads, I did enjoy this story. I loved the pluckiness of Kendall and the charisma of Michael. This was an easy story to read and flowed quite well. If you are a reader looking for a fun story with a different kind of story line do yourself a favor and read this book.

North to Nara (Crimson Sash Book 1) by Amanda Marin

North to Nara by Amanda Marin is an incredible read from start to finish! This is the first book in the YA dystopian series titled Crimson Sash, and what a great start to a series it is! Amanda wrote with so much detail that I could easily picture everything playing out in my mind and I was able to easily connect with the main characters, Neve and Micah.
This storyline is captivating, intense, addicting and so riveting. I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to put it down. I can’t wait to continue with this series with book 2!

Back in the Ring by Brooke May is the 4th book in the Predator series and the first book of the series that I’ve read, however, having said that I had no problem jumping into this book as there was plenty of detail that I easily followed along. Having read this book, I now can’t wait to read the first three books in the series.
Noah and Bijou’s story is sweet, emotional and romantic. I enjoyed the storyline and the seamless flow of Brooke’s writing. All the detail she wrote with made it so easy for me to picture everything playing out in my mind, which made this an entertaining read!
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!
