The Traveler: Book 2The Traveler: Book 2 by Deborah Dugan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Traveler series and I was hooked all over again. The way the author draws you into their imagination is fantastic. I went through an emotional ride with this book more than the first. I couldn’t put it down. Very interesting series and book and I can’t wait for the next one.

No lie chapter one started of slow. I always try to read the synopsis before I read the book to make sure it’s something I’m interested in. The synopsis had me hooked so I kept reading the book despite the slow start. I’m sure glad I did! You know how they say “Never judge a book by it’s cover!”? Well you shouldn’t judge a book by the 1st few pages either. This story actually took several twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting. It was very well written. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I will be keeping my eyes open for book #2 because the cliffhanger has me shook! I need to know what happens.

Edith Mackenzie is a new author for me and boy oh boy! An amazing writer that gave us such a wholesome book! I cried, I laughed, I felt joy and sorrow. A story that has you hoping for the end you wish for! This book was so well written. I can’t say whether it is a part of a series or not but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything so you can dive right in! Get your tissues, your blanket and cozy up because this is the perfect novel to lose yourself in for a while! She has a writing style and ability to make you feel like a fly on the wall feeling the heavy emotions that we are reading about and it was a rollercoaster I didn’t want to get off. Well done!

Anise Storm has really taken my bookshelf by storm! She really is such an incredible author and this book left nothing unsaid! It was exciting, steamy and I loved how balanced it all felt! I will say this, if you are looking for an author who can write a story and characters that you will think about long after you have put the book down, Anise Storm is for you! She does an incredible job and this book will have my brain turning for a while. I was so sad when it was over!

They were gods.
They were celestial beings.
They were mythological creatures.
It didn’t matter what they were called. Names were merely a reflection of the current age and occasion. Throughout time, there was only one constant: a strong dedication to their own worthless pride.
Wars were fought… humans suffered… tricks were played… and all in the name of competition; a way of determining a hierarchy amongst themselves.
The strong thrived. The weak suffered.
He was at the bottom of the totem pole; taken for granted and ridiculed. Enough was enough. It was time to climb the ladder, aiming for nothing but the top. There was only one way to accomplish that goal.
The gauntlet was thrown. The challenge accepted. Respect was at stake, pitting deity against deity in a winner-take-all competition.
Cupid shed his stereotypical persona to bring about the bet of the century. For once and for all, he was going to prove helping people fall in love was, is, and always would be, the hardest job.
Four challengers stood at the plate, ready to swing. But would they actually find a way to bring about the romance of Valentine’s Day in their designated seasons?
In book one of this four-part series of standalone books, spring has sprung and Mother Nature is laying it all on the line. Nurturing flowers and growing the love between a couple can’t possibly be all that different, right?

Deacon Saint

My father told me once that anything that gets your blood racing is worth the risk doing. I didn’t factor in that I have to face the tragic loss of my best friend, discover that my mother has Alzheimer and come face to face with a girl who broke my heart all those years ago.

Yet, coming back to my hometown in Tennessee—after being gone for ten years—leaving behind a racing career in the MotoGP world, I’d have to deal with the trials set before me in this small town. I’d rather take on the track, lose skin, break bones, and tear muscle than to make the decision that’ll change my life forever.

Olivia Bane

I thought my life is perfect. Working as a nurse, a boyfriend who’s a doctor, and friends I cherish dearly. Then, the second Deacon Saint comes back home, my ideal life shifts to utter chaos. My boyfriend turns out to be a jerk, I almost lose my job and I’m faced with losing my heart again to the man that broke into the first place.

Deacon shattered me before he left our town and now he thinks it’s water under the bridge and is determined to reclaim my heart. It’s going to take more than sweet talkin’, fast motorcycles, and good old Southern country charm to win me back.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is set around two young women in a small town haunted by La Llorna. Mercy and Sherry were the best of friends. Until they weren’t. Until her.

I truly loved this book and how it showed you can overcome anything that is in your way. Regardless of what past or being that is trying to stop you.

“All you can do is make your own miracles and let people live out their lives however they plan to.” That quote hit home with me. I recommend this book to anyone who feels stuck because not even La Llorna can stop you.

Stella Magi rally is a busy girl both in her personal life and professional life and then to top it off she’s rather social and I just couldn’t keep up 🤪 at a stage I thought she gave up one addiction ( alcohol) for another(men) but hey I’m not judging …..

Now her 3 men are Glazier , the orthopaedic surgeon and he’s more the friends with benefits and their arrangement seems to work for them .

Doyle , our delectable red headed and freckled Mcsteamy and I’m sure he could charm the petticoat off a nun 😂

Alex , the one legged neuro , I liked him the most he seemed genuine and a real gentleman ❣️

So between them all they’re brilliant at what they do in all aspects , I mean hello hot and steamy , need I say more !? Now while our Stella was honest and upfront I was a little annoyed with her and what went down with her and Alex but again who am I to play judge Judy !?

Stella has a gift but who does it come from !?!? Who does it belong to ? Before I spend to much time pondering … I find myself rereading a few paragraphs here from around 73% just in case I miss something …. DRAMA👍

Elizabeth and her gaggle have Stella’s back and Elizabeth had me in stitches about what comes out her mouth 😂

While we had fair warning about the cliffy , it still caught me ! Now I wait ….

Seductively Yours (Titans of Manhattan Book 3) by Anise Storm – Review by Kerry Carr

Seductively Yours (Titans Of Manhattan, #3)Seductively Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Titans of Manhatten series. I have loved all these books. Each romance is full of passion and obstacles that leaves you wondering if they will work out or not and this one is no exception. Even though it is past of a series they can be read as standalone as each book focuses on one couple. I love the characters. The author has a great way of bringing the characters to life and giving them a back story that is believable and relatable. Everyone goes into new relationships with a history and that history affects you in the new relationship and the author does a great job of showing that.

Rhyann has always dreamed of being a dancer in a ballet school. When her dream finally comes true she moves to New York to pursue her dreams, however things aren’t as good as she imagines and when she finds herself in need of a job her roommate has an idea. Why don’t the work in the club as pole dancers. A good income and its still dancing right? That is where Rhyann meets Mason again.

Mason is one of the Titans. He is wealthy and respected. He doesn’t do relationships prefer to keep his entanglements casual. He runs the club where the girls go for jobs and instantly he recognises Rhyann. She is one women he can’t forget.

What follows is a fast paced story full of emotion and sizzling attraction. The question is will Mason finally be tamed by a woman or will he keep fighting to stop mixing business with pleasure.

The Wounded Cowboy Billionaire (Billionaire Hearts Ranch Book 1) by Edith Mackenzie-Review by Elena Tobar

The Wounded Cowboy Billionaire (Billionaire Hearts Ranch, #1)The Wounded Cowboy Billionaire by Edith Mackenzie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book took me on such an emotional roller coaster ride. Colt has been through more tragedy in his life so far than anyone should ever have to face. Evelyn is someone that he’s been friends with since they were kids and tragedy brings them together once again. There are so many twists and turns in this book. I teared up so many times at the unfairness of it all but the ending was so sweet that it made it worth all of the emotions. This is a book you definitely won’t want to miss but make sure you have a box of tissues nearby.

You’ve heard it said that money can’t buy (fill-in-the-blank). Well, in the case of Colt, that’s definitely true. He’s loaded with money…has more than he knows what to do with, but it won’t stop the tragedies from occurring in his life.

I don’t feel like I can give anymore details about this book other than the description provided because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. However, this is your warning: You’ll need a box of tissues handy. This story is riveting and tragic, yet full of so much love!!

I don’t have a super high opinion of Colt. He’s very selfish and greedy. I like Evelyn but there’s something about her that I can’t wrap my head around. Not sure what it is but she’s a very likeable person. I’m curious to know more about her background though.

This is another new-to-me author that I will reading again! I do recommend this book! It’s a fairly clean, wholesome romance story.

Read out of sync, started with this (book 3) instead of first book in series (kicking myself now) BUT can still be read as a standalone. I just truly loved the story, this book, would have enjoyed ALL of the adventures of main character. The story grew on me, LOVED every minute spent reading it. The plot, the characters, the adventures and drama kept me on the edge of seat. Such a fascinating YA read. Going to go back and read book one AND two NOW!! The author wrote such a wonderful story. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great read! The writing was fantastic and I was easily drawn into the story. There was vivid imagery and I felt like I was right there in the story with the characters. I do have one complaint though. While this book is 1 of 1, it felt like a sequel. The way the book started, it felt more like a continuation of a series, and I didn’t connect with the characters. It took me several chapters to do so. So while I enjoyed this book, it took me awhile to feel that connection. I think that if the author were to write a prequel it would work a lot better. All in all I really enjoyed reading this book and I would definitely read more from this author in the future!

Reading the description of this book, I had very high hopes for the story. The beginning of the book took me a little bit to get into. But once I did, I felt the story was rushed. There was so much character development missed due to the length of the book. I would’ve liked to see more details not only about the culture where the book takes place, but the people in the book as well.

This is an amazing read, that one can finish fairly quickly. The writing style is well done, and once I got into the story, I could not put it down till I was finished. It’s a thought provoking read that makes the reader consider generational trauma, and what it means to take charge of one’s own happiness. The main protagonist is Mercy, and we fallow her narrative about her time as a young girl and into adulthood. She explains to the reader who La Llorona is, why it’s dangerous for the women in town to get to close to the river, and why she collects her own tears in jars. This book is a great read all through out the year, but I imagine this is the type of book is an even better read while on vacation or on a nice summer or spring day. Overall, I recommend this book to those that would like a light read and gets them thinking.

Immediately became action packed. This book is a jack of all trades concerning genre. This book made me consider life as to what I’m accustomed to like Van having all her needs met at island. Versus if I was thrown into something unknown like my current journey starting from scratch like Van getting thrown into the mission she is unprepared for.

Little bit confused as I did not read book 2. Anyways I felt this book was similar to Hunger Games, because being stuck in woods in a game. Difference is this one is called Jaychund games instead of Hunger games. Cameras in trees and being viewed by everyone. The similarities are quite astonishing. I still very much enjoyed reading this book. And need to go to book 2 then four.

Weep, Woman, WeepWeep, Woman, Weep by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

La Llorona haunts the riverbanks of Sueño, New Mexico, a town where women are constantly counteracting the good things with something of sadness. She’s the reason that the girls are told not to walk down to river, just in case La Llorona is looking for someone to take down to the bottom of the river.

Mercy loses her best friend to La Llorona, and barely survived herself. Now, struggling for her life and attempting to get past the sorrows of Sueño, Mercy must delve into a world of magic, healing, and maybe just maybe, she’ll make it out alive.

Overall, I really enjoyed this read! Weep, Woman, Weep is heartbreaking and beautiful. It has a lot of potential to give the reader more, but I feel reads more like a story/legend you tell around a campfire or such than a full length story. It reads much like one would think about something that happens to them, jumping from one place to another and retracing it’s steps. I know it’s not for everyone, but it definitely felt like it was made for this story. I’d love to read more from this author.

Vox Astra: The Black Box is an engaging, science fiction read. The book is my first book by this author but I’m glad to come across his work. The book flows easily and tells the story of stars and the crisis of political intrigue and humanity. I enjoyed the story and was drawn in by the descriptions and concepts presented. I do not want to give too much information for fear of giving away much of the plot. All I can say is if you enjoy an unexpected story and exploring new worlds give this a read. Ruthless Heir (Mafia Elite Book 5) by Amy McKinley – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book as much if not more then the others in the series. Summer and Luc meet one night in a bar and end up having an amazing night together. Summer is trying to drown her sorrows away and Luc was able to get her mind off of her bad luck she has. Ben is looking for her and her life is literally on the line. The company she is currently temping at is under a hostile takeover. When she gets to work the next day. She is late. Her picture is in the paper, the new owner of the company is someone she least expects and he’s blaming her for being a spy. Can her luck get any worse? Now she is being held captive by her new boss because he thinks she wiped all his accounts dry.
This book is filled with the 5 families from recent books so we know most of the characters already. I love the women who are just as bad and tough as their husbands. They seem like great friends to have watching your back.
Absolutely loved this book. Keep them coming!
