Cosplay Worthy by Quiana Glide is a fun story. My curiosity was immediately piqued at the thought of finding love through a Comic-Con. So, I grabbed a copy and set off to find out what happens. Layla is excited to attend the Comic-Con and has gone to great lengths to come up with the perfect cosplay costume to wear – as her favourite comic book author will be there and she is beyond excited to meet him. Throw in a meet-cute, some humour, secrets, steam, insecurities, love, acceptance, finding yourself, nerdy fangirl girl meets famous writer, a little drama, and finding love unexpectedly- and we get an entertaining story. The book was a little slow to get going, and did lag a little at times- but overall, I enjoyed the story and meeting Layla and Vic. I am interested to see what Ms. Glide has in store for us next! Sarah wrestled it on course, skipping from wave crest to wave crest. She nosed down, plunging the glider beneath the fluid’s skin. Vox Astra: The Black Box (Vox Astra Book #1) by James Chambers is a great little collection of short sci-fi stories. This original collection offers interesting, and sometimes, thought-provoking tales with a range of elements, from military, politics, hard choices, space travel, aliens, first contact, new worlds, warring factions, AI’s, invasion, drama, mysteriousness, and plenty more.
I really enjoyed exploring this collection- and particularly liked how original and intriguing this collection was. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what Mr. Chambers does next. Happy reading!

This story was simply amazing! Reading the first page, I was immediately drawn in. I love Mercy’s voice and the storytelling she does. I adore the reality in the relationships, and the way the story touches on all the ways that things were different then. I loved reading about Mercy’s dreams and her fighting spirit even as her dreams changed because reality struck. I just really truly love everything about it, I was absolutely enthralled from beginning to end.

A fairly quick read. Warning, this one ends in a cliffy, but it’s worth the journey.
I enjoyed the overall storyline, and to see Stella’s growth, from alcoholic , to renowned doctor (who loves a little loving on the side) who has a penchant for making bad decisions, to someone who’s willing to put in the time and effort into a serious relationship. I feel like there could have been less drama had people just talked to one another, but where’s the fun in that in a novel, right?
This one sort of threw me because the title description is misleading, this is not a love triangle, but rather Stella has three potential suitors. All Doctors. While the author touches on the hospital’s fraternization policy, I’d hate to be in their HR department because it seems like people are hooking up with colleagues left and right.
I enjoyed that each of the potential partners got a decent chunk of the book and that for the most part the friendship and work relationship prevailed over everything else.
As the author states in the description, this isn’t your average romance. It will have you hating the characters at times, rooting for them in others, and all around pulling your hair out trying to figure out what’s going to happen next. It’s kind of like a telenovela re Jane the Virgin. Enjoy!

Stella!! The self-awareness and strength that she possesses is amazing. This is a short, steamy tale of how Stella is finally taking control over her own life. After years of addiction, Stella is sober but still craves that feeling she used to get with alcohol. Stella has rededicated herself to her job as a doctor and finds time to partake in some stimulating parts of life. As Stella finds the guy she is willing to commit to, his own insecurities and her bad habits destroy what they had. There is so much riding on decisions Stella has to make regarding her future.
The author writes strong, smart, resilient women that rule their place in male-dominated worlds! Stella is just another example of that. She owns who she is and her decisions. She rocks and so does this book. Can’t wait for the next one!!

I have never read a story like this. It is fantasy but also historical fiction as it mixes magic and mythology with the destruction of Pearl Harbor. I’m glad the author put a glossary in the beginning of the book because I needed to reference names and places as I read. The characters drew me in and I wanted to learn their stories. Alva didn’t grow up with her queen mother or sisters but comes back when trouble arises. She is a Huldra who uses the male life force to live. Alva went against the norm and did not kill her partner, but helped him win a war. Bernard, a resistance soldier, is grieving the loss of his family and is willing to do anything to bring them back. Bernard changes one event in history which alters the fate for all. He knows one small change can make a difference in the future so now he has to go back and fix it with the help of Alva. Something seems to be working against them and Bernard and Alva need to figure it out so they can change the past and put the timeline back right.

This book was surprisingly good. It was a story about Gods and elves but they seemed so real and approachable somehow. Reading Bernard’s story was intriguing and interesting. The story had some twists and turns that kept me interested as I tried to figure out how it would end. This is the first book in a series and I am looking forward to reading the next book.

This book almost had me screaming! Holy heck of a cliffhanger! I DEFINITELY have to read this sequel now! I have read Wildcat by this author before, and apparently this is a different series from that one, but with recurring characters kind of, so now I’m desperately wanting to go back and read that series. I thought this was a continuation of Wildcat (I apparently did not pay much attention at the end of that one) and alas, it is not. I did not quite enjoy this one as much as the previous book I’ve read from this author, it seemed harder for me to get into, but I really liked it more towards the end. It is steamy and definitely an 18+ novel. This was also a really quick read, so I enjoyed that as well. I can’t wait for the next installment of this one!

An apocolypse caused by a virus, pockets of virus and zombie outbreaks, a hero and heroine, outrageously beautiful world building, and characters you can’t wait to explore more and follow make for such a good book!
Baron is a lonely man – simple man on the surface, but his complexities keep him alive in an apocolyptic world where he just wants to find more people. In village after village, he finds destruction and death, or zombies he is trying to flee. He ends up following his instincts after meeting a man and killing him – and then he meets Talia. Is she the answer to ending the virus? The dynamic between them is wonderful and kept me from putting the book down. I can’t wait to learn more about them in the rest of the series!

This is the third book in the Titans of Manhattan series, and it is just as steamy as the first two. And then the authors rips a little piece of our soul out by not giving us an ending. We get to vote how it ends and I NEED ANSWERS! I truly did love reading this book and look forward to reading more by this author!

Reading this book I really wasn’t sure what to expect as I don’t typically read this genre but was pleasantly surprised. It was a several different short stories combined to create a quick and fun read. The description of the book really doesn’t give it justice. The stories were exciting, scary, sad, a bit of everything. I really enjoyed the futuristic take within each story. One thing that was alike in each story, Earth is at war with the cosmos and all that it holds. If you are looking for something quick and slightly thought provoking, this certainly is the book for you.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Another fantastic book and it’s another MetroGen book. This is the first book in the MetroGen Kiss and Tell Series. It does end on a major cliffhanger.
Stella is a doctor at MetroGen. Sober and trying to stay that way. She can’t seem to stay away from sex. Three guys and she ends up pregnant. The quote I chose for Stella is: “See, I go for more of the fake-gentle approach of psychological flaying. Ask them uncomfortable questions in the middle of a high focus procedure.”
There were three men and I really couldn’t find any quotes that stood out for me. You’ll have to read to find out who they are and how they fit in with Stella and her crazy life.
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

I have a twenty-month-old daughter and a 7 year-old niece and they both loved this book. The vivid and bright pictures attracted my daughter and she loved going through them. My niece is “going to be a scientist” when she grows up and of course she loved the content. Plus, she loves anything to do with mermaids, so that was a bonus! This book is so cute. Trezzie is a mermaid who wants to show her friends, Maya and Fig, how to make rainbows and do an experiment with paper, a glass, and the lake water. Beware, the children you read this with will want to do these things when they are done reading! I recommend this book if you have small children as it is fun to look at and will keep their attention.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and although I enjoyed it and it is a sweet read I just couldn’t get into it enough it just didn’t draw me in. I felt like I was waiting for something drastic to happen but it never came. The characters are well written and the concept of the whole book was great but just not for me unfortunately.
This book was one that I was very excited to read. This book was funny, flirty, steamy, nerdy and a lot of fun. Vic and Layla were drawn to each other by attraction as well as common interest. When they initially meet at Comic Con Layla taps into her creative side being dressed as one of her favorite comic book characters as she meets its creator Vic. Layla is shy but in a sense bold as well when she has her costume on and gets to chat a bit with Vic. Vic who is a comic book author is sexy, talented, and down to earth. When he tags their picture together from Comic Con they soon begin an innocent and supportive friendship that turns romantic and steamy.
They are each great characters who have so much more to who they are then meets the eye. As their relationship truly begins its course there are a lot of things they begin to learn and see within each other hand while some good there are still a lot that raise questions. They wonder if the things that hold them together are strong enough to weather things that hold them back. This was an amazing book and our nerdy girl and laid back guy are worth every page of this read!

I loved this book! If you’re a nerd, you will love this book. Even if you aren’t, you will love this book! Layla is the main character and it is written from her point of view. She is such a relatable character. She’s funny and witty, but so awkward and out of place all of the time. Alex is her best friend who is, of course, the opposite. She’s fun and exciting, adventurous and very outgoing. She’s Layla’s counterpart perfectly. This book is a love story, but it also speaks out for nerds everywhere. Our characters go to conventions and comic book signings, and everybody loves those. Vic is a comic book writer, well known, and great at what he does. However, the comic book industry is, like many industries, male dominant. This is not only a love story, or a nerdy story, but it is about raising that glass ceiling for women everywhere trying to break through and be seen as equal and capable in a male dominant career. I love this book and I know everybody will.
This is a shirt Contemporary romance that is so hot and steamy it will really make you sweat. It is such an easy book to get into and I really found myself flying through. I worked reading about Stella and her life. She is fun and refreshing to read about. The whole book is great entertainment from start to finish and after the way this book ended I cannot wait for the next.

What a fantastic combination of Genres – Fantasy and action thrown together in one book. This is such an exciting story and it gripped me from the beginning. I loved the characters in the book. They had a brilliant chemistry. The connection was so strong you could feel it immediately. For me this book really does has a bit of everything. This is a new author to me and I am really impressed with what I have seen. I can’t wait to read more.

I now understand why there were a few people that I know that read this book that refused to read it at night. I was one of them, and furthermore, had to make sure that my partner was at home at night rather than at work before I read this fingernail bite inducing novel. The way that the author really digs deep into developing Abbey’s personality and thoughts is incredible, and you do feel as though you, the reader, are inside her head without a doubt. Despite the fear and terror that is pulled from these pages, there is also a lot of happiness in the connections, friendships and her relationship with her family, that bring the story all together. In some spots, it felt like I was reading an episode of ‘Supernatural,’ and it pulled me in even more.
Walking on Sunshine is one of my favourite songs of all time, not just from the 80’s, so I know this author has some great tastes to include the musical encouragement for the characters throughout the novel. I did, however, find that this novel felt to be a bit long-winded, though understandably so in order to really get the reader on the edge of her seat, it just was a bit much for me. I fully intend to read Abnormally Abbey as soon as I have the time and look forward to learning more about her and her backstory. Overall, a fantastic read, and I would recommend to anyone looking to have the hair on the back of their neck stand up, well done!

Wow, this is a very imaginative, gritty, confronting read. Vox Astra will deftly pull you in and force you to witness the violence and conspiracies saturated in its pages. The writing is very accessible and I appreciated how the voice seemed real and close. The fear, blood, and absurdity of war is captured well. Very well conceived and executed, this is a sci-fi you won’t easily forget.

Mercy lives along the Rio Grande River in New Mexico, she is constantly pursued and followed by La Llorona, the tortured spirit of a mother who drowned her children. Ms DeBlassie spins this web of magic over a beautiful desert landscape, where you are told the story of La Llorona and Mercy and how their paths continue to cross during Mercy’s life. This tale becomes even more haunting when a tall stranger moves next door to Mercy’s farm and her whole life is flipped upside down. While this was a very quick read, I thoroughly enjoyed it and literally could not put it down!

I just love finding new authors. This is the first book from this author I have read and oh man I just loved it. The characters are so down to earth and realistic and well hey I am just as much a comic geek and I love cosplay. This book was just a breath of fresh air from my norm.
I like how there is drama and romance and it is well balanced. I like how the storyline is not overly done and is very unique. I also like how the drama is not all straight forward and predictable. I will definitely read more from this author.
Excellent world building and real relatable characters. I liked the history element mixed with the fantasy. A lot of messages about cause and effect with a clear statement – you can’t change the past. Really fast paced and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened.

I enjoyed the storyline of this but I did feel like it dragged a little too much for me. It was something different and not bad for a debut novel. Though I felt as if the pacing was off and for me I couldn’t quite connect with it. I liked the relatable characters and it was quite sweet.

I found the cover of this novel, intriguing, and I was drawn to it at first glance. I was not aware how enticing the contents of the book would turn out to be! I was lost in it, hooked by the characters and the events that occurred, the writing was amazing, and the suspense really was the best it could be.
Josie was a great character, I loved how real she was. And I loved the use of the pandemic in the story line as well. I found there were characters I loved, and ones that gave me that kind of bad energy feeling! The characters really made the book. The things Josie had to go through and uncover was unreal! I loved her personality and her strength of her character and her mind. There was a lot of suspense and not knowing what one thing would leave to another. I loved this book, it is a must read!
Wonderful work by an amazing author. If you want to read a book that will keep you hooked up to the spell binding ending, then this is the book for you! High recommendation from me, and a must read!

I thought this book was a really cute and fun book to learn about science. I enjoyed reading this book and finding all of the tricks that the mermaid knew and taught to the children. This is definitely a book that children will love. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and display the scientific experiments well. This little book is a fun conversation starter with your little one to do some of these experiments on their own with their own mermaid!
