Targeting Dart (Satan’s Devils MC #4) by Manda Mellett – Review by Amanda Glaspie

This series continues to keep getting better. This time we watched Dart grow and mature as he meets Alex and her son Tyler. I loved the growth that we saw in not only Dart as he realizes that he might need more than sex, but the club grows and matures as they realize it’s time to change their rules. In this book, we see the Satan’s Devils once again come together to protect someone that needs them, this time it’s Alex who has just escaped an abusive relationship. Dart takes on her protection only to find that he has growing feelings for her. Definitely recommend if your looking for a heart warming story with great action and suspense.

I love the Satan’s Devils MC series of books. The author didn’t disappoint this read with the story of Marvel and Virginia. They both have had a rough life and never expected to find someone in the most unusual of circumstances. You get to catch up with the some of the Satan’s Devils group, which is always a favorite when reading these series. If you haven’t started reading the series that include the Satan’s Devils, do so now, allow them to be apart of you life too, you won’t regret it.

This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I am hooked! I love reading MC Romance novels and this one was unique and not at all like what I normally read. This book had me so entranced, I did not even notice that it was 2AM when I finally put this book down. The character dynamic between her and the MC when she returns is palpable and had me on pins and needles. If you are looking for your next book that you cannot wait to finish and see how the story ends, then this is the book for you! I cannot wait to read the next books in the series!

I am positive, when I tell you this series is well worth your time and money. This is Marvel and Virginia’s story. Being caught up in a bank robbery is bad, being stuck in a small room with a total stranger is bad, but those are nothing to Virginia, compared to the last few years of her life. The strong and helpful Marvel is one to be trusted, unless you fear his type of men. Marvel on the other hand wants nothing to do with women. He has been jilted once and he keeps clear of all women. He has given each and every one of his Brothers hell for finding their old Lady. Says it will Never happen to him! Well guess what? Marvel is stuck in a tiny bank room with said woman. For hours and hours and hours. That is all I am going to say about this story. No spoilers for you. This author and her creative mind has once again written a story to be read by all. You can’t help but fall in love with the characters that make the Men and Women of the Satan’s Devils MC. This story is fast paced and leaves nothing out. So I recommend you get everything you need before starting. As you will not be coming up for a while. I am sure the next in this series is already in the making. So get yourself caught up in this series as I know you will not be disappointed.

This is not my first audible by this author but it is one of my favorites.  I loved listening to this book.  This is a story where the narrator and the author’s writing skills bring the story to life with each word.  I enjoyed being kept engaged by how the narrator read the story.  This story is full of action and steamy bikers.  A story that pulls you in and is hard to stop listening to.  Dart meets Alex who is completely the opposite of what he likes but she needs his help.   They are such great characters that made the story entertaining.  You don’t want to miss this audio or the others in this series.  I highly recommend this audible.

And again another fantastic 5 star read from this author! I loved Marvel and Virginia’s story the way they met was just so unique and different to any of the other stories this author has written. They had a connection born from being in a situation that only each other could understand. I loved reading about how their relationship progressed, it was clear that they were meant for each other but with a few bumps along the way. This is the fourth book in this series and possibly my favourite so far! I am very excited to read more from this author as always.

Before 1 of these books I never knew I was a MC fan… but boy have I been pulled into MC world forever.

Marvel is a character we’ve wanted to get to know but has been on the fringes of the story, strong feelings about women never going to take an old lady and obviously hurt deeply and strongly effected.

Then as typical for these books in the series along comes Virgina and she completely blows out the walls that Marvel has built and he desperately wants to protect her from everything that’s happening.

Again another Satan’s Devils 5 star story by this author and I’m forever going to be a MC fan….

I cannot get enough of this series. With all of the books and the spin offs I would have expected it to have gotten tired and boring by now but the exact opposite has happened. Each book feels fresh and interesting. I find I am gripped by them all.
The characters in this book to me felt so perfectly flawed. It was mesmerising to read about them. I loved the journey they go on to find their happy ending. This really is an amazing book that I would urge everyone to read.

Dart

I’m just your normal average member of the Satan’s Devils MC. I’ve no desire to be an officer, happy to ride in the middle of the pack enjoying the biker life-style to the full.

No commitments.

Nothing to tie me down.

I friend-zoned Alex when I learned her demons. Happy to help her fight them. That was all, wasn’t it?

I hadn’t a clue helping Alex was going to challenge me and my club in ways we’ve never been challenged before.

I didn’t know Alex would get under my skin and stay there.

Had I left it too late to admit my true feelings? Had I lost her before I could explore my strange attraction toward her?

Alex

I needed money. Desperation led me to audition as a stripper.

I didn’t realise my new occupation would gain me a friend, a man who for once stepped up beside me. It wouldn’t, couldn’t be more.

My feelings grew. I gave Dart the power to hurt me.

But my biggest enemy was still out there and coming for me. My ex wants me back, this time to kill me.

Would Dart be able to take on responsibility necessary to rescue me?

Marvel gets a second chance at love in this emotional love story. I really enjoyed reading this book and getting to know Marvel and his backstory. He has been through so much in his past that’s caused him to stay single and not trust women. During a bank robbery he meets Virginia who has been through a horrifying hell of her own with her husband. They are quickly drawn to each other and develop a bond that neither expected. There are so many twists and turns in the way of their developing relationship and I was on the edge of my seat that whole time! There’s so much action in this book and moments that made me gasp out loud with shock. You are definitely not going to want to miss this one!

She tries to hide if from her MC family but they all see right through her and are more than ready to support her and help her through it all. Drew is the man who’s had her heart since she was six years old and seeing him again brings it all rushing back for her. He can’t stand the thought of losing the one girl he’s ever loved for good and so it spurs him into action. Will Drew and Amy be able to make it through all of her past trauma and find their way to what they’ve both always wanted? My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow this author has done it again! Another page turner 5 star read from start to finish and all I can say is please keep them coming! I will never get enough of the Satan’s Devils.
Marvel is a long standing character and it is great to get to know him better in this book. We finally get to understand why his very strong feelings towards woman are what they are! Hurt and unable to forgive or forget he is never taking an old lady or letting a woman into his heart again! Then along comes Virginia, just as unable to trust as he is, possibly more so actually. They meet under intense circumstances and for reasons neither really understand share their stories of heartbreak.
When Virginia is being hounded after their shared experience together, Marvel can not stand by and watch her go through all that again. With the help of the MC he steps in to protect her and fix the situation. It’s very surprising to not only the club but himself and he doesn’t know how to handle it. Soon his feelings and what to do about them aren’t the only things he needs to worry about with more danger on its way to them.
Do yourself a huge favour and grab this book today!! you can read it as a stand alone but I recommend reading them all purely because they are so fantastic!

Saving Marvel (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #4) by Manda Mellett – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Saving Marvel (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation Book 4)Saving Marvel by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am always excited when a new ‘Satan’s Devils MC’ novel comes out, and this was yet another great read. The storyline focuses on Satan’s Devils member Marvel, who joins the MC to escape from his past. Although he’s been happy for those of his brothers who have found there ‘old ladies’ and settled down, he’s never wanted that for himself. At least not again, having been hurt by a women who he loved and trusted, he’s now learnt that women can’t be trusted and that if he dose not fall in love, he can’t be hurt. Then Marvel meets Virginia, who has trust issues herself, having been betrayed by the man she loved. Having been traumatised by his actions and those of others who blamed her, when she had no idea what he was doing, she has become reclusive.

It was just Virginia’s luck, that on a rare trip into town she ends up caught up in a major incident, and then finds herself forced into close proximity with a biker named Marvel. As usual this story is full of drama, suspense, great characters, vivid world building, plenty of MC action with the Satan’s Devils, and of course romance. I loved Marvel and Virginia and the chemistry between them sizzled, but their reluctance to trust again and the past hurt they both shared also came across in the writing. The setting, as usual was brought to life by the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in both the story, and in the Satan’s Devils MC world once again. An enjoyable and exciting read, and I look forward to future books by this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow this book hit me right in the heart and hit very close to home for me. This authors writing talent is truly incredible! She addresses Mental Health and the importance being able to accept help in such a heartfelt way. She presents how powerful a family can be, blood or made, in a persons life.

Olivia and Eli have been together basically since birth! Put together in the crib it was the start of a fated bond for sure. Eli is now Hawk, VP of the Satan’s Devils but is it what he was supposed to be in life. Was it his choice or was it what those around him chose for him. He blindsides Olivia by leaving the MC and choosing a civilian life for them. She loves her husband so tries to support him but as weeks go by it is extremely obvious that there is so much more going on with Eli.
After a breakdown it becomes known to all that Eli has been dealing with so much more than anyone realised. Together they will get Eli through this and help Olivia as she approaches the birth of their first child but an old club enemy has other ideas!

Hawk's Cry (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #2)Hawk’s Cry by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story is beautiful and redeeming at the same time. It is the story of Hawk (Eli) and Olivia. Suffering from feelings of being down and just feeling “off”, Hawk decides to walk away from the club (to the shock of Drummer, his father, and Wraith, his father-in-law). This sets off a tremendous series of events that will have Eli and Olivia questioning what they are doing. On top of this, the archangel saga continues. From page 1, you are sucked right into the story. The action, the chemistry between the couples, the brother’s relationships and the sense of community/family just all pull this book into one cohesive tale. The different POV’s keep the story fresh and interesting. You just can’t put the book down (I couldn’t). I had to know what happened next. This author will often write about an important topic in her books. This book included the topic of depression and missing the signs and how to help. This is important information that can help others. Thank you for including that. You may always help that one reader who may just need it. Excellent book. Action, steamy romance, and so much more. I highly recommend you read it.

Amy's Santa: Satan's Devils MC (Second Generation) #1Amy’s Santa: Satan’s Devils MC (Second Generation) #1 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series is one of my favorites. Amy’s Santa is book 1 of the Satan’s Devils MC (Second Generation). She is Heart’s daughter and one courageous chick. Dealing with the aftermath of trauma, Amy comes home to the Devil’s at Christmas. A big secret is revealed that the Devil’s will help to take care of. Wizard (Drew) is Amy’s childhood crush that broke her heart. There is some rekindling and remending. They find that they must work through some big challenges. Drew is patient and so in love with her. He will do what is necessary. Amy never stopped loving him. There is a plot twist I didn’t see coming. I can’t wait to get to Book 2 to see how that is taken care of. This book was really good. The family theme was there. Yes, it’s a motorcycle gang but they take care of each other. They have each others backs. They have basically raised each others kids. It is one big community. You can feel the emotional pain as Amy reveal’s her secret to Drew and Heart. You can feel joy as things change. The plot runs really smooth even with trying to run two plots and updating on where the older members went off to. I was intrigued and couldn’t put it down. I do have to say it ends on a cliffhanger. On to book 2……. I highly recommend you read this one if you like romance, adventure, and steam.

This is book 3 in the series…the story of Throttle (Noah) and Gwen. Throttle is Peg’s son. Throttle, the enforcer, is faced with a stalker and problems from some rivals all while romancing Gwen. They end up facing some crazy stalkers and rivals wanting revenge. What’s amazing is that they come out stronger (and pregnant) on the other end of it. The club, as always, has their back. The author has again developed well-thought out characters. The plot is so feasible. The characters are an MC gang yet you wish they could be your big brothers. This author has a way of writing that can leave you feeling every emotion there is as you are reading. So amazing, her writing is spectacular. One of my favorites! You have got to read this series. It can be read as a stand alone or as a series.

This story was mindblowing. Marvel and Virginia are caught in a bank robbery. That makes for a great first impression. Marvel is one of the old timers with The Satan’s Devil’s MC. He is kind of the grumpy old man of the group. We do get some insight into why he is the way he is. He and Virginia face some major challenges in this story. Marvel has met his match. The question is……Can they get through this?? You are going to have to read this to find out. I can promise that this is one story you just can’t put down. The whole Satan’s Devil’s series and 2nd generation will grab you in and not let go of you. The characters are so real that you feel like you are in witnessing the conversation in person. The plot is intriguing and totally feels real. The emotions run the gamut from high to low. This is such a good book. I guarantee that you will enjoy it.

After the robbery they go their separate ways and don’t expect to see each other again until Marvel sees Virginia being hounded by reporters on tv so he goes to her rescue. After that they are pretty much inseparable. Will Marvel be able to protect Virginia and keep her safe? Will he be able to trust her and get past what happened to him before? This is another book in the amazing Satan Devil’s MC club. I never hesitate in grabbing these stories as I know they will be great. They have the elements in the stories that I enjoy, Romance, danger and pasts that could make or break them. The author always makes her characters believable and connectable which makes the stories all the more enjoyable.
In the story we meet Marvel. Marvel is a confirmed bachelor and vows to stay that way. Making fun of his brothers when they settle with their old ladies.
However one incident in his life, a bank robbery, he finds himself held hostage with a woman for company. After talking to her he finds out her name and her past.
Once they were rescued they go their separate ways. However Virgina is now in danger. Marvel goes to her aid to protect her from someone out to harm her but how much trouble will this bring the Devils?
Another big issues is trust. Can Marvel let down his guard and learn to trust Virgina or will their pasts stop them from making a go of their future.

I have been on an MC book run for the last few months and Manda is one author that I jump on a book when it’s available. Manda is one of the Queens of MC writers. She writes strong characters and alpha men who look after family, their women, and their brothers. I love the banter between the Satan’s Devil’s, and it always brings a smile to my face and out loud laugher. It is a gripping, emotional and heartbreaking read that brings out all the feels.
This one is Marvel and Virginia’s story where a robbery brings them together. It is nice to read something where the characters are a little older than the norm and falling in love when unexpected.
There is mayhem and action, pain, and broken trust, trauma, and danger. Something for lovers of MC books but even if you don’t normally read MC books you will love Manda’s books.

I have been a long time fan of this author. I am not surprised by how amazing this book was written, as well as the strong character development. I love how this author always writes their characters with layers, layers that unravel and the story goes on. As always the story was amazing as could be!

Marvel has always had a more vindictive personality I would say. For reasons how he acted at times, were unknown to me in truth. Reading this story I learned more of him and what happened to him the past. It would have devastated myself as well and I would say he feels the way he does, because of his scars and pain. And to me that was real character depth and made the story what it was. I also loved Marvel’s interactions with Virginia. They both were different but the depths of their scars were not so much. I found the moments they shared were deep and powerful. With anything this amazing author writes, i am captivated and sucked in deep, the writing, the characters, the words, the story, and really everything plays a crucial part! I loved this book and reading about Marvel’s story. A must read for sure!

Love everything this author creates. Really connected with this one, reading of what made Marvel who he is. This is a must read book, a must read author, and for sure a must read series! Highly recommend!

This is a fast paced story that has a little of action and romance mixed together which made the story entertaining. A story about Marvel and Virginia. They both have a past and they both are broken. What will fate have in store for them? Will two broken people find a way to make one whole relationship work? I loved reading their story and what they brought to the story. Marvel

I became a member of the Satan’s Devils MC to escape from my past.

I love this mismatched family that I’ve joined, would give my life for the club, but something always keeps me slightly apart.

I’ve watched as my brothers have found partners and settled down, seen them have kids and have played a sideline role in their upbringing, but never had any yearning to find someone for myself.

More than thirty years back, I learned women can’t be trusted. It’s a lesson I took to heart.

If I never fall in love again, I can’t be hurt and my world won’t be torn apart.

Virginia

I was betrayed in the worst of ways by the man I loved. Even now, it’s hard to put what he did into words.

But I don’t need to speak for myself, everyone knows. And everyone blames me. Me, who’d had no idea what was going on.

Traumatised, I try to hide from the world.

But even a reclusive woman has to emerge sometimes. I didn’t expect to get caught up in a major incident, nor to be forced into close proximity with a biker named Marvel.

I didn’t expect we’d have so much in common.

Can two broken souls come together to make a whole?

Her attraction to Shep, a street racer, puts her eerily close to a lifestyle from which she is trying to break free. As the new MC starts to feel like family to Gemma, she finds herself in difficult situations. Gemma finds a true support and partner in Doc. Doc is there through hellish episodes, cementing his place in Gemma’s life.

This book moves at lightning speed. It gets a little confusing at times when they don’t discuss the time jump but as the story moves along, you can figure out the timing. It is hard to believe Gemma makes it through so much in this book and, as her history is revealed, in life. Gemma is strength and resilience. Hopefully Doc is her HEA.

This book contains depictions of assault and rape. Do not read if you find yourself triggered by those topics.

Terrifying Love: A Halloween Anthology

4 out of 5 stars

The new stories of the frightening ways love can manifest are interspersed with haunting love poems. Each tale takes you to the edge of your seat. Will strangers risk everything for each other? Does true love last through the centuries? Can beings see past their differences or long-held beliefs to find true love?

One of the stories that had me gripping my pillow was Reflections of the Past by Melody Calder. Mary’s story started with feeling out of place where she should have felt at home. The chances Mary took to find belonging led her to real love. When everything in Mary’s world is destroyed, she finds a way to get her revenge. Sins of the past haunt Lia in ways she doesn’t even know yet as Mary’s vengeance collides with Lia’s heart. With Lia’s understanding, Mary is finally able to find peace.

The other story that caused my pillow distress was Runes and Fangs by Victoria Larque. Kayla has every reason to hate after what she has gone through. Minette should feel the same way but doesn’t let her light fade because of the actions of others. When Kayla first meets Minette, Minette should cower but doesn’t. Minette finds it within herself to be strong. Kayla should despise Minette but can’t seem to feel anything other than protective. Together, they seem to be able to accomplish the impossible while finding love.

Which story will be your favorite?

Road Rage (Outlaw Series Book 4) by Katrina Kantas – Review by Alexandria Richard

Road Rage (OUTLAW, #4)Road Rage by Karina Kantas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was hard for me to rate, so my review will reflect that. I am a fan of dark romance and other dark readings, so that is also reflected here.

3.75 rounded up.

The good:
I did enjoyed the overall story of this book, and reading about Gem’s evolution into Rage (the Motorcycle Club) and the glimpses of her backstory and how she came to be when she met Shep. Gem does get her HEA with her man, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her building that relationship and allowing it to thrive. I also really enjoyed the street racing aspect and the adrenaline that came from reading those scenes.

The so-so:
I feel like some of the flashbacks would have in fact been better placed sooner in the books, especially some of Gem’s flashbacks to her time with the Hawks. (That transition in the book seemed to be thrust on us out of nowhere.) I felt like there wasn’t enough time to recover from her trauma in the flashbacks to then jumping into the contemporary trauma she was experiencing. Normally when I read a dark series I like to read about characters who, despite their trauma, are strong and willing to fight back, and while Gem does, it’s done in a way that leaves me left wanting. I found the romance aspect of this book lacking as well as there was almost no actual sex scenes that occurred, were just told there was sex between the characters, or that it was good or the best sex of Gem’s life, and then the only real description of a sex scene is traumatic for the character.

Disclaimer: I have not read the other books in the series, and by this book I don’t think I will. This book is not the first I’ve read by this author, so when I saw it and the synopsis I was excited; however it fell flat for me. This book was originally published in 2013, making it 9 years old at the time of this review, and the author’s writing has come a long way since. I just couldn’t get behind the writing here. It’s definitely a case of telling, not showing. I also felt that it wasn’t the smoothest in its transitions from one situation to the next.

Cw: drug use, violence against women, domestic violence, detailed description of fist fighting, sexual and nonsexual assault, active rape, motor cycle club culture.
