It Comes From Within (House Valdis #2)It Comes From Within by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It Comes From Within (House Valdis #2) by Naomi Valkyrie was a great 5 star read.

I was pulled right in from the beginning. This was a great storyline. There are several different characters that you meet in book one and continue into book two. We get several POV’s which also helps you connect with them as well.

Xenobia is the head of House Valdis and the main character. Xenobia is feeling the pressure of being the leader and is feeling at her wits end. Her team is trying to find a blood den, what will happen if/when they find it?

Overall this was a great read. All of the characters are strong in their own ways and added a great element to the story. This is a quick read with lots of action, romance, suspense, and so much more. You should read book one first so that you can understand the story and characters better. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series so I can see where things are going. The author does a great job of pulling you right into the story. Rescued by Valan (The Pirates of Barra: Highland Raiders #2) by Jennifer Siddoway
Was a great 5 star read. This was a great historical romance, I was pulled right in by the authors writing.

Lady Bridget has an arranged marriage and is on her way to go through with the wedding, when her ship is overtaken by pirates. When she meets Valan there are instant sparks. Will the hot pirate interfere with her plans?

Valan is a new captain of the MacNeil clan, so getting a big treasure would be great. What he didn’t expect to find was a woman that he finds himself very attracted to.

We get so much in this great read, action, danger, romance, and so much more. I really liked both characters very much. They were perfect for each other. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing, you feel like you are right there with the characters. This can be read as a standalone. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Secure Desire was a 5+ star read and A Chase Group Novel.
All I can say is wow, I was pulled in right from the beginning.

Cassie is an FBI agent who has had a couple of huge tragedies in her life. She has closed herself off from any type of relationship, she’s damaged.
Ian Chase met Cassie six years prior and was smitten with her, seeing her again now has brought the feelings back and he starts to pursue her. Ian is an ex-Navy Seal who owns his own successful private security team and I might add is extremely hot.

Cassie remembers meeting Ian but had suffered a traumatic event that has caused her to shut down and have panic attacks. She’s afraid to get close to anyone for fear of rejection.

You won’t like me once you know what I am – Cassie

There is a huge twist at a charity event that had my emotions all over the place. I will warn it does get graphic and had me cringing at times. My heart went out to Cassie and everything that she went through. I was on the edge of my seat pretty much the whole time waiting to see what was coming next. Can Ian and his team keep Cassie safe? Will Cassie finally let Ian into her heart?

There is so much more to this read. I loved all of the characters, they all added great elements to the story. Some I didn’t care for, some I loved. I can’t wait to see more from several of them. I highly recommend this read and I look forward to reading more from R.L. Dunn. I need more from the Chase Group. I loved them.

I really enjoyed Tyler and Gianna’s story. Of course if you read the 1st book Tyler doesn’t exactly paint a very good picture of himself. As I got to know him better in this read I fell for him.

Tyler is taking on wine making and is starting up his own company. He contacts his friend in New York to help with marketing and PR.
Gianna is a New Yorker with the attitude to go with it. She was great and was a great strong character. She was sent to town to help market Tylers new company, but they don’t exactly start off on the right foot even though you can feel the sparks flying between them.

Gianna has planned on staying 2 weeks, she works with Tyler on ideas and designs for the company. The longer she is in town the more she starts to like it and Tyler. She is also hoping that this campaign will be a success and impress her boss.

This is Sarah’s story and her horrifying experience of her abduction along with her brothers. She was separated from her brothers and sold. The strengths that this girl showed no matter what she went through was amazing. There is so much more to this story but I don’t want to give anything away.

The Divided Twin (The Divided Series #2) by M. Billiter was a twisted 5 star read.
I was pulled right in from the beginning and was done before I knew it.

Branson hasn’t had any issues for quite some time. When things take a sad turn the boys end up going back home. Their mom has fallen sick with breast cancer.

Things get even more twisted when another personality makes itself known and has some dark and twisted plans. There are so many unexpected twists and turns. I will warn that there are some scenes that may cause triggers for some. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. There is bullying, mental illness, violence and so much more. The author has done a great job with her writing and you feel like you are right there with the characters. Trey: European Redemption (Russian Mob Chronicles Book 7) by Shandi Boyes was a great 5 star read. I love a good read and this story pulled me right in, the author pushes the boundaries on the topic and grittiness.

This is Trey and Kristina’s (Duchess) story. Trey works for Nikolai who we met in a previous book. Trey is very protective and when he meets Kristina he’s pulled right in by her. There was something about her eyes, something familiar. Kristina was forced into sex-trafficking the last six years and I would consider her a survivor. Trey also has some things from his past that have made him the man he is today.

Can these two put each other back together again?

I was once again pulled in by the authors writing and I didn’t want to put it down. Having military in the family I always enjoy reading the stories that these warriors face and I’m from Wisconsin so it’s an added bonus that the story is in Wisconsin.

Beth is a single mom with an autistic son, she recently lost her job due to a closure. When he’s offered placement into a vocational facility Beth accepts and makes plans to have a new beginning for both her and her son. Something about Dragonfly Pointe reminds Beth of her childhood.

Zach has recently taken a position at the wounded warrior facility. He is struggling with his injuries and is also having some emotional issues. He doesn’t feel like he is worthy of love because of his scars (which broke my heart).

Beth and her son Kyle end up meeting Zach on the beach. And it turns out that Zach ends up being Kyle’s teacher at the facility. I loved how great Zach was with Kyle, so sweet. The more time that Beth and Zach spend time with each other the chemistry grows.

Charlotte is determined to get that secret from Joey, but things take a very dangerous twist. Now that Joey is gone, will Charlotte solve the mystery behind Joey’s death before anyone else gets hurt? Who can she trust?

The story is told in alternating POV going from past to present which helped with understanding the story and being pulled right in. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. I really liked the secondary characters.

Less You Know: Book #2
Charlotte is a very strong and determined woman. Once she gets on the trail of something or someone she doesn’t stop until she gets answers and Tyrone is the one she is focused on.

When Charlotte’s friend Allie disappears, she starts looking for her, as she’s searching she uncovers some secrets about Allie. What will happen when/if she learns the truth about both Allie and Tyrone?

I was pulled in once again by the author’s writing, I felt like I was right there with the characters. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. I love a good story that has me thinking the whole time and I was surprised with the ending as well. There are several twists and turns. The secondary characters were great.

From The Ashes: Book #3
I was excited to get this final book.
You get pulled in right from the beginning. Charlotte is a journalist who is looking for the truth behind some recent deaths. She is trying to put the pieces together to help solve the mystery. The closer she gets to figuring out things the more dangerous it gets.

There is so much more to this great read. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. There are several twists and turns. Rowena Holloway does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing, I can’t wait to read more from her.

The Traveler: Chimera Revolution (The Book of Eleanor 2) by Shannon Nemechek – Review by Michelle Austin

The Traveler: Chimera Revolution (The Book of Eleanor 2)The Traveler: Chimera Revolution by Shannon Nemechek
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Traveler: Chimera Revolution (The Book of Eleanor #2) by Shannon Nemechek was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. I do suggest that you read book one first, since this book started where book one ended.

You get pulled in by the authors writing and we get a great storyline. I really like these characters and seeing the journey continue was great. In the first chapter we are transported back in history to 1779. Colm and Katie have an electric connection and are in tune with each other. They find out that Katie is the only one that can help. Katie has to train and learn control before confronting Mordred.

Will she be successful and defeat him?

Overall I really enjoyed the read. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I like the historical pieces that are weaved into the story, King Author, Camelot and so much more. There are so many different characters that added a great element to the story. There were a couple of spots that got me emotional and on the edge of my seat. We end with these two going into another journey. I can’t wait to read the next book. Feisty Heroines Romance Collection of Shorts Anthology – Review by Michelle Austin

Feisty Heroines: Romance Collection of ShortsFeisty Heroines: Romance Collection of Shorts by D.F. Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Feisty Heroines: Romance Collection of Shorts was a great 5 star read.
We get over 30 great short novellas in this book by several different authors.

There are so many different genres in this collection that everyone will find a story they will love, and get to know new authors. The stories are short enough that you can read a couple here and there as you have time.

We get a mixture of HEA’s and cliffhangers. Which will entice you to pursue the author’s for more. There are lots of great strong independent women and men in these stories as well.
There are twists and turns, action, romance and so much more. I was pulled right into each story by the authors writing.

I think the part I found different and really liked was at the end of each story we got a little bio on the author and a list of their books. The other great thing about this book is that profits are going to a great cause. If you’re looking for a collection of books with lots of different genres this is a read for you. 1-click and get started today.

Being Lost (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Michelle Austin

Being Lost (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #1)Being Lost by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Being Lost (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1) by Manda Mellett was a great 5 star read.
I was pulled in right from the beginning.

It was great getting to see the San Diego chapter. Lost is the prez of this chapter. When another chapter reaches out to them to keep an eye on a mother and her son things take an interesting twist. When Lost meets Patsy there is an instant something between them.

Patsy made some hard choices when she decided to move with her son. She is missing her daughter but knows that she made the right move. When she meets Lost she finds herself very attracted to him. When they finally got together it was great, they are perfect for each other.

Will Lost and the MC be able to keep them safe? Will Patsy and Lost get a HEA?

Overall this was a great read. This is an older group of characters but they pull you in just as much. I really liked all of the characters, they all added a great element to the story. Manda does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I really enjoyed getting to know this chapter and look forward to reading more from them. 1-click and get started today.
