Unchecked: A Steamy Love Triangle Love Romance by Carina Alyce – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Unchecked (MetroGen Downtown Kiss and Tell, #1)Unchecked by Carina Alyce
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Personally not a huge fan of Stella. Didn’t really
Care for the character itself. Who she is, what she is, how she got there. I dunno. Just not really into it. The book was left with a cliffhanger and I’m guessing I’ll have to read the next book to find out how it ends. I feel like this series is just missing something for me. Not sure what exactly.
The author did a great job with the storyline and the budding relationships but it just a book I was into. And if anyone is asking #TeamAlex

Mermaid and the Rainbow: Mermaid Science by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Michelle Mulvey

the mermaid and the rainbowthe mermaid and the rainbow by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well I thought this book was a great book for the kiddos. I’m a nanny for 3 different families. I care for a 1 and 2 year old, a 2 year old and a 4 and 7 year old. I have read this book to all of them. Actually the 7 year old reads it to his little sister. Al the kids really enjoyed it. The pictures are colorful. What toddler doesn’t love a rainbow or a mermaid? Actually one of the little girls have sat with me and heard the book so many times she finishes each sentence for me. Great book. And the kids love it!

Seductively Yours (Titans of Manhattan Book 3) by Anise Storm – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Seductively Yours (Titans Of Manhattan, #3)Seductively Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was book 4 in the series but, all the Titans books are amazing. Each one is steamier then the last.
This book has many repeat characters from previous books and a few new ones as well.

Mason and Rhyann met one night in a club. Met isn’t really the word I should use. They spotted eachother, danced and hooked up.

Rhyann is currently on a full scholarship with big dreams of being a dancer one day. Like most
College students, she needs to find a job and goes with her bad influence new bestie Allie to the Vault to interview for a job. When they get there, the owner….the man interviewing them is none other then Mason Steele….the man Rhyann hooked up with a few nights ago in the bathroom of this very same club.

Mason does not mix business with pleasure after something tragic happened years ago. There’s something about that one night stand a few days ago but he can’t seem to get Rhyann out of his head and she obviously feels the same way.

Working at the vault and staying out late has caused Rhyann’s grades to fall. She’s about to lose her scholarship so she tries to extra credit projects and stuff to bump up her grades. One professor knows what she does for a living and convinces her to come put on a show for him and he will change her grade.

That’s the #1 reason Mason doesn’t date his dancers. Dancers are only safe in his club. They should never go to do a private party.

This book was great. Mason is so torn throughout this book but I love it. Such a great read. Cannot wait for more!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thought this book was well written. I enjoyed the book for the most part. I did feel like the book moved alittle slow and found it hard to keep me interested. I liked the characters. I thought it was a little off how he invited her to come to his parents. In my mind, I figured She would’ve left within the first 3 days. Gil and Sophia are just friends. They were co-stars who have been very close while filming. Is there a chance they can become more? Or will they just become very good friends ?

So Right: A Fake Fiancee Reverse Age Gap Romance (Love Grows Series Book 5)So Right: A Fake Fiancee Reverse Age Gap Romance by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First let me start my review by saying, I love reading books by this author. If I see there’s a new book and I’m currently reading one….we’ll it gets stopped and this authors newest one gets moved to the top of my list. There’s not many authors I do that with.
As always, this author did not disappoint. This book was great from beginning to end. Anyone can write a book about coworkers pretending to be engaged but, this author nailed it and it was so good.

I love Amara and Petro. They both have had a bumpy road to get where they are now and this newest assignment a a big deal. Will they be able to pull it off?
I love the characters, I love the scenes, I loved it all. I wish I could give it more then 5 stars.

Doctor D’s Orderly Affair (Doctors of Eastport General) by C.A. King – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Doctor D's Orderly AffairDoctor D’s Orderly Affair by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thought this book was an ok quick little read. I felt the book was lacking something. It started off good…very good actually! I loved what the book was about. Dr. Desmond Danielson was a doctor in a hospital and he was dealing with a case that could mentally destroy him. His nephew was very sick. His sister took a very long time to make a decision on his care.
Then there was Emily. She has heard about the infamous Dr D but has never seen him or met him until one night at a club when she is just way to wasted for anything. Emily has thought about Dr. D and he has not been able to stop thinking about her either. I feel like that was it. There was nothing really leading up to the ending. I know it was a short story but, I felt a lot was missing.

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)A Hundred Wishes by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was great from start to finish.
Gina had a dark past that she carries with herself every day when she wakes up. She has a fear of letting people see her for who she is now. No one outside her group knows what happened. Her close group of friends are amazing.
Bryce comes along and falls for Gina instantly. Gina falls for Bryce but still keeps him at arms length. She won’t tell him what happened and she’s afraid he will see it for himself eventually. Things seem to be going great until Gina meets Bryce’s family and after that she thinks she needs to end this relationship because Bryce will never be able to handle her secret. Gina has a lot of walls that Bryce has to power thru but he thinks it is worth it. Will he be able to power thru all of them? Will he want to? I thought this book was well written and a great storyline.

Power Play (Astoria Bay Thunder #1)Power Play by C.J. Cartwright
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was such a great read. I absolutely loved Brynn and Levi’s book. They dated as teens but, then of course they broke up and neither one ever forgot eachother. Now Brynn is here after a divorce, struggling to pay her bills and she ends up being hired to photograph a little brat’s birthday party but, the thing she doesn’t realize is, being at this party and meeting one person in particular is about to change her life in more ways then she could ever imagine.
This book was definitely a 5+ star read for me. I loved the characters and the way everything happened. Such a great read! Looking forward to more by this amazing author.

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, book 4) by Amy McKinley – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, #4)Savage Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this book. The characters were amazing. Elena is one tough cookie and she was awesome. She’s on the run and when she finds out her location has been compromised, she’s ready to run again. Marco shows up but she doesn’t know if Marco is there to help her or to kill her.
When it comes to Mafia books, I either love them or hate them. This one had it all and I can’t give even praise to the author. There was action, love, friendship, suspense, and even the oh my goodness moment. This book will leave you saying wow!
I absolutely love the fact that Elena is brought back home but her best friends and her are right back strong as ever as if they weren’t apart at all.

Wildcat: A Steamy Firefighter Romance by Carina Alyce – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Wildcat (MetroGen After Hours, #1)Wildcat by Carina Alyce
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a new author that I haven’t read before and Wildcat was an ok read for me. I respect all that Leslie has been through over the years with her career and how challenging it was for her as a woman in a man’s world but aside from that, I just couldn’t root for her or even like the character. I wanted to love this book because the cover and Description was good but, I just thought the book was ok. Not sure why Trevor was so hung up on her. I just didn’t find the book very believable except for Leslie’s obstacles she faced. I would read another book by the author in the future.

Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins, book 1) by Emily Bowie – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins, #0.5)Sinful Vow by Emily Bowie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sinful Vow captivated me from the very first chapter of when 10 year old Luca was out with Scott and Jay doing their thing. They were the best of friends. Rossi and Mancini were having a meeting at a park when these kids crossed paths with 2 of the most powerful men.
Rossi is a father of 4 daughters until that day. Rossi decides to take in Luca and treat him as if he was born into the mafia like his other 4 children.

Luca crosses paths with Aly as a teenager and vow’s to always keep her safe. If Mancini knew Luca was getting that close to Aly, there would’ve been consequences!!! This book in mafia fashion has so much going on. So much more suspense then I could’ve ever though. The book was perfectly written. I’m not typically a fan of mafia books but this one was so good. Cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.

Blindsided: A Contemporary Sports RomanceBlindsided: A Contemporary Sports Romance by T. Christensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blindsided was such an amazing read. I loved this book from page one. Brock and Kirsa were best friends from teenie tots. Brock always would bother and tease her but he always protected her too. Then when they were about 7 years old or so a new girl Victoria moved into the area. Instead of it always being Kirsa and Brock now there was a third person in their group. They always say Three’s a crowd and within a few years, Kirsa finds that out. Brock and Victoria heard a rumor that Kirsa started and they decided to cut her out of their triangle. Not only did they stop talking to her but, they made her life horrible for 3 years.

Now with a new star football player at school who happens to enjoy spending time with Kirsa, Brock starts to get a bit jealous. Will Brock decide to finally forgive Kirsa? Kirsa swears she never started that rumor but no one believes her. The rumor is something they think only Kirsa could’ve started since she caught them in her treehouse.
I really loved this book and loved the characters.

Unlikely to Stay (A Parker Lake Novel Book 3)Unlikely to Stay by Ashlie Knapp
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed Unlikely to Stay. In the beginning I was like come on. Your not in middle school. Haha
The book takes place in a small town where everyone knows everyone and the gossip train doesn’t take long to travel through the whole town.
CC and Brant have caught each others eye for the past 2 years but CC avoids Brant every chance she can until she has no choice and has to come face to face with him.

CC is a hairstylist at her own shop and has hopes to open up a gym too. Brant is a nurse at the clinic and thinks CC hates him so he travels to the next town over to get his haircut.

Thanks to CC’s best friends, they organized an auction and all the money they make will go to CC for the gym.
I thought this was a really good read and look forward to reading more by this author.

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book, Embracing Jared was such a great read. This book had me feeling so many different emotions. It was a very emotional read. Jared has his father Mr. Christopher in a home where he gets around the clock care and he donates a very large sum to the facility. When Jared decided he must go visit to find out why this nurse Madison is. It following his directions he is knocked on his behind. He overhears Cookie in his dads room singing to him and treating him amazingly. He soon finds out that Cookie and Madison is one in the same. No one cares for his dad like Madison has and he will stop at nothing to keep his dad happy and as healthy as can be.
Jared is a big time rockstar and basically has everything as his disposal. A lot happens in this book and makes you feel happy, sad and everything in between.
I definitely recommend this book if your in the mood for a sweet, emotional read.

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan BOOK 1) by Anise Storm – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #1)Conveniently Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Conveniently Yours had got to be one of my top 5 of the year. I cannot give the author enough praise on this book but it was totally right up my alley. I have read plenty of books like this but this one definitely stands out. Caspian is Manhattan socialite and can have any woman he wants. He finds out his uncle Preston is very sick and Preston is the reason Caspian is what he is. Preston adopted Caspian at a young age and raised him as if he was his biological son. Caspian owes everything he has to his uncle. Uncle Preston had his will done and Caspian must marry and stay married for 1 year in order to keep the company.

Caspian is livid over this and doesn’t think he will be able to go through with this but he will stop at nothing to keep this company he has worked so hard for.

Paisley is down on her luck. She has literally hit rock bottom and has nothing or no one accept her mom who is in a coma and needs to be moved to a rehab facility. Caspian and Paisley literally run into eachother and start talking. They haven’t seen eachother in 2 decades and if Caspian can trust anyone, Paisley would be the one.

Is only 1 year and 1 day. Can they do it? Will they be able to have this fake marriage for 366 days and be able to walk away at the end? Uncle Preston is the most important person in Caspian’s life so how will Caspian react when his uncle doesn’t accept Paisley as a suitable person for his nephew to marry.

I thought this book was well written, loved the characters and cannot wait for more. This book was definitely one of my favorites.

Nikki is a nanny who is going thru some stuff Also. Everyone has a past but, not everyone can’t leave that stuff behind and start fresh.
I thought this book was perfectly written. There was a lot of info the author gave the reader so nothing was left to questions. I loved the characters and I love how this book came together. Definitely a 5 star read for me.

A Sweet Christmas: A Sweet Confections Novella by Nicole Richards – Review by Michelle Mulvey

A Sweet ChristmasA Sweet Christmas by Nicole Richard
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Sweet Christmas is just the type of book everyone needs to read this time of year to get us in the holiday spirit. I love to read Christmas Novellas that give the reader just enough information to enjoy the book without leaving out important details. This author did a great job with Ben and Thea’s growing attraction.

Ben walks into Thea’s shop looking for something every bakery sells but, Sweet Confections offers all kinds of sweet bakery delights aside from cupcakes lol. Ben gets some tasty treats and also tries to get Thea to come with him but she declines. Ben comes back and after speaking with Thea a bit he asks her out again but this time she accepts to meet him next Saturday for sushi.

Thea recently broke up with her ex boyfriend so she doesn’t really know if she’s ready for this but the attraction and chemistry can’t be denied. Will she give in or will she just keep Ben as a friend / customer?

This was a sweet fast paced holiday read that anyone is sure to enjoy. Looking forward to more books by this author.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book and I loved the characters. Nadia and Luke have a second chance at love but after the first time, I don’t think Nadia will give him the second chance. I think Nadia needs to get a grip though. Like was separated….he wasn’t involved with his wife when he met Nadia.

Now Nadia buys a house that pretty
Much needs to be gutted because everything is wrong with it. From the holes in the floor and the faulty electric, this house is an accident waiting to happen. Good thing Nadia’s best friends have connections. Nadia wants to have anyone but Luke work on her home but, his quote comes in way less then anyone’s. Luke owns the company so his quote is without his share.
Luke had very strong feelings for Nadia during their short relationship and now with him working for you and being so close to her, what will happen? Will Nadia finally see him for the nice, caring, hot, dependable person he is?
I thought this book was very well written. I didnt like Nadia at the very beginning but then things become clearer. Cannot wait for Seth’s book!

The Groomsman (Unexpected Series – Book 2) by Marina Hanna – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Groomsman by Marina Hanna was definitely a 5* read. I loved it from the very first chapter.
Adam and Jules got married and of course Lauren and Mark were best friends of the couple and both in the bridal party. Mark and Lauren hooked up the night of the wedding and had one of the best nights ever. A one night stand can never be that when they are both good friends of the couple.
When Mark and Lauren see eachother again at a bar, they cannot help the attraction. They do not talk to eachother but Jules talks to Mark and he says he doesn’t know why he hasn’t called Lauren but he plans to rectify that soon and he does.
Mark and Lauren have fun together for a bit but that’s all it should be…..fun!! Nothing more. Can they keep it at just fun or will one of them get hurt? What about a crazy secret that Mark has managed to keep from Lauren?
This book was definitely a great read and I hope to find more reads like this one from this author soon.

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards # 6)Tenacious by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tenacious is book 6 in the series and so good. I have read a few books by this author but this has got to be my ultimate favorite. This author knows how to give the readers a perfect balance of heat and mystery. This book can be read as a stand-alone if you wanted to. I would recommend reading all the books in the series as they are all great reads.

This book focuses on Allie who is an ER nurse and is very good at her job. Nick is a bodyguard and Nick has other reasons for wanting to be the one to guard Allie. Nick keeps trying to break down Allie and get to the center of who she really is because of his own reasons. Allie is very attracted to
Nick but, tries to keep her distance. This book has a lot of danger, traffickers, romance and action ( both good and bad kinds )

The book was written well, the characters are great and I think the story will definitely keep your attention as It did mine.

I didn’t realize this was part of a series. I have no read any books prior to this one but, I may have to read the last few at some point to understand the characters better

I did like the character and the chemistry between them. The book was alittle much compared to what I usually read. I love a good Dom / Sub book but this one was much more then I like to read.
Russell was married once before and every time he meets a sub, there is something missing. No one has ever been able to get him to take the next step past a scene. Will Gemma be the one to get to him and give him what he needs. I thought this book was well written and was able to hold my attention.

I thought this was a great start to a new series. I loved this book from the very beginning. The only down side for me was the character list. I found it hard to keep the families apart. With that being said, I had a few favorite characters and there were some shady ones also. Liliana is a mafia princess who is a huge asset to her dad. She has people assigned to protect her but she can handle herself in some situations. Just ask some of her dads guards. Sam Caruso has a long well thought out plan that involves Liliana. This book has lots of action and suspense that will leave you guessing what’s going to happen next. Definitely liked this book and cannot wait for more in this series.

RepairRepair by Trish Williford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Repair was probably one of the best books I have read this year. I would give this book 10 stars if that was even possible. This book was amazing from the very first page to the very last.

The book starts the day of Jack Easton’s funeral. Charlotte ( Charlie ) and her family are there to support Tank on this horrible day. Tank is pretty much part of the family. Tank and Charlie’s brother Jude have been best friends forever. Charlie has had a crush on Trent for just about her whole life. Trent and Charlie leave so Trent can go change. They never make it back. They end up going somewhere and spending the night. The next day some hurtful things were said which causes Charlie and Trent to never speak a word to eachother for 8 years. Just and Trent’s friendship takes a bit of a hit since Charlie leaves town all because of Trent.

8 years later, Charlie returns to her hometown of Sunnyville along with a job transfer. What will happen when Trent and Charlie see eachother? So much has happened. Trent has a lot to tell Charlie but, will he?
Chapter 19/20 totally gets me and I was going to have to have words with the author. Haha!

You definitely don’t want to miss out on this great read. I cannot wait for book 2.
Such a great read!

THE MARCY SERIES BOXSET: BOOKS 1-3 by Linda J. Burson – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3 by Linda Burson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read a few of the books in the series and you definitely don’t want to pass this by. This boxset has everything you would want. There’s a lot of suspense in these books that will keep you interested.

My favorite is the boxset is book 3 which in Agony and Ecstasy

The series should be read in order to follow the lives of the characters. Marcy is one of the main characters and she has been through a lot of heartbreak and fear in her life. There were 2 men in her life Brad and Liam. Both of which were engaged to Marcy and one point. Marcy has nightmares which start with her not remembering them. Little by little she starts to remember certain things. She’s in a very fragile state and then to top things off, she finds out that Liam, the man she loves…the man she plans to marry has some secrets of his own. Marcy needs to choose which man she will end up with. Brad…Liam…Who knows! This book has a lot of suspense and twists you won’t see coming. I thought the book was written well however, I felt like there were things thrown in that weren’t needed like the author had to meet a word count. The book was fairly long so I know that can’t be the case. I did enjoy reading this book and I’m sure you will too. Please be sure to read the books in order.

The Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The Heart of Baker BayThe Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The heart of Baker Bay surprised me. I’m the beginning, I felt like it wasnt going to hold my interest. I’m not sure where exactly my opinion changed but, I found myself really enjoying this book.

Poor Jody….I kinda felt bad for her in the beginning. She seemed like she just couldn’t keep a job. After being fired from her most recent job, she ended up having to go help out / run her grandmothers shop in Clover Bay. Jody told Adam that someone from her family would be there the following day. Hannah was expected to be that person but since Jody promised it, Jody is the one who has to go do the work.

Adam is a small town guy who likes to help everyone out. He wasn’t expecting Jody to be there that morning and he seemed to be really put off about it. I almost feel like Adam was being mean to Jody because of the type of person she portrayed. Once Jody showed her real self, Adam and her began to get along and Adam helped her out as much as he could.

Will Adam and Jody end up being together or will Jody go back to the city life and see how many more jobs she can go thru before finding the right one.

I liked the characters and the story flowed well. Looking forward to more by this author
