My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a gripping and sweet second chance romance novel from Michelle Sullivan. I have read some of her other novels before but this one stands out as my favorite so far. I recommend grabbing your favorite cup of coffee or tea, eh maybe a glass of wine, and curling up with this little gem. If you are anything like me you will want to read this in one fell swoop.

Karalyn and Dez, I adored these two, these two were not hard to fall in love with. I wasn’t so sure at first, things seemed a bit too perfect. Then the perfect balance of realism hit them and they were forced to face it. Spending seventeen years a part may very well make the idea of seeking any kind relationship, friend or more, terrifying all together. When they are thrust back into each other’s lives though they are forced to face it. What will happen when all of the past comes rushing back? Will it destroy any shot at a second chance for them? Or can they find the will to push through all the feelings and hurt to have that future together they always dreamed of?

Karalyn and Dez met as children, and started dating in Jr. High School. Karalyn was positive Dez was the man she would have babies and grow old with, even though she was 2 years older than him. Life intercepted her plans, and just before she graduated High School, her mom received a job offer and Karalyn needs to move away. At that point in time, the young lovers vow to find a way to make a long distance relationship work, however sometimes our plans fail. The day Karalyn moves is the last time she sees Dez … until 17 years later.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a very sweet second chance novel. You will be shocked and angry. You will feel sympathetic and sad. You will say Awwww. And you will laugh. I found it to be a very quick read and give it 5 stars!
Sullivan is a new to me author and I’m looking forward to exploring more novels by her.

Our Next Chapter is one of those stories you just feel at home reading. As Karalyn and Des both return to their hometown you can’t help but feel like you’re returning to an old familiar place as well. I enjoyed the storyline and felt like it flowed well with relatable, likeable characters that carried the story well.
Our Next Chapter has a similar feel to a couple of my favorite love stories but it didn’t feel as though the storyline was one that was overdone it was familiar and unique all at once. I am really looking forward to reading Quinn’s story in the future, I felt that she was a strong supporting character in this story.

Karalyn and Dez had a great, lasting love, but are torn apart. Some stories may seem over, but really they are just on pause. This is the case for Karalyn and Dez. I love a good second chance love story, and this was a great second chance love story. I’m glad that I read it, and I think you won’t be disappointed if you give it a try!

Karalyn has a great personality that is both sweet and spicy. Dez is overall a great guy who is willing to learn from mistakes and is at a point where he is ready to fight for his love and family. I also really liked Quinn. This character has so much personality! I love that she is willing to be straight up and is hilarious in doing so! Michelle Sullivan is giving Quinn her own story, and I cannot wait!!

O.M.G. This book has even more feels than book one! In order to read this book, you should really read book one, Our Next Chapter, it’s not absolutely necessary but will make the relationships throughout the story so much better. Quinn is the main character in this story. She is the daughter of Karalyn and Dez. Their story is book one.

Quinn and Dez’s relationship makes me sigh because who doesn’t love a good dad and daughter situation. And then I have to laugh out loud. and often! But the real love story is between Quinn and Noah! Holy Hotness those two sure know how to cause some serious steam!

Quinn and Noah start off hot and heavy and right from the start they feel their connection. Their connection is almost too good to be true, but they don’t fight it. They love it and each other. Their journey however is not all rainbows and roses.

Sullivan must love knowing she causes readers to cry. Actually, this story was very close to an ugly cry, but Sullivan reigned it in and created an unbelievable heart fulfilling story! I wish I could give this story more than 5 stars.

Our next chapter written by Michelle Sullivan is an amazing love story about misunderstanding, love at a young age that lasts a lifetime and new beginnings and secrets. I had so many different emotions reading this book I laughed cried and I was also pissed at what the main characters had to go through, but they were strong and made it. The characters Karalyn and Dex are amazing and well written and I could relate to Karalyn on some level.
They became best friends in elementary school.
They fell in love in high school.
They were soul-mates, with their future planned and nothing to stop them.
Sounds perfect, right?
WRONG…not every love story ends with happily ever after.
She hated Dex the boy who broke her heart but she can’t stop loving him. It’s been 17 years since she’s been home; now she’s back and that boy who she tried to hate for so long is promising her a future again. But Can Karalyn trust Dex again? Is he for real that he didn’t know anything and that he was trying to protect her?
Is it possible to put the past behind them after so many years of pain? Can they begin another love story that never really ended? Or is it better for both of them to finally let go for good and close that chapter in their lives forever?
I know my review is kind of vague but I didn’t want to give any of the secrets away but you really need to read this amazing book….

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan a five-star read you will love. This is a great second chance romance and yet another great read by this author, she is an author who has the talent to surprise you, as you start the story and its good, but slow burning and then you start to care about the characters and you start to really get to know them and then boom suddenly it’s become one of those books you cant put down and you have to finish, you have to read every page like it’s the last. Karalyn and Des have a great friendship and that runs through the story making it deeper and deeper, it’s the best type of friendship the one where you can go for ages without speaking and then pick up where you left off, it takes work but has a great base. Because of that this is a great story and you will adore it like an old friend.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a beautiful second chances romance that’s packed full of emotion. Ms. Sullivan weave’s a tale that encompasses heartbreak, betrayal, pain, anger, regrets, confronting the past, confusion, drama, trust, hope, passion, friendship, and love. I always know when reading one of Ms. Sullivan’s novels that my emotions are going to get a battering, and this story was no exception.
Karalyn James and Desmond Madden (Dez) were inseparable as children, there isn’t a childhood memory that doesn’t contain the other. They would often talk about their future, dreaming and planning their lives together- with the expectation that they would eventually marry, have babies and grow old together. Their bond of friendship developed and grew over the years and eventually turned romantic, then blossomed into much more on the night of Karalyn’s Graduation. This was a pivotal moment for them- their love had been sealed for eternity- or so they thought at the time.
Because of situations out of either of their control, Karalyn moves to San Francisco, which breaks both their hearts. The plan was always that Dez would join her there as soon as possible, but fate had other plans. His betrayal cuts deeply, shattering her heart into a million pieces and leaving her alone at a time when she needed him the most.
Karalyn moves on with her life as best she can, but a large part of her is stuck in the past, still grieving the shock and loss. Seventeen years is a long time to be in denial, and a long time to spend avoiding your home town. But, here she is after all these years finally back in the town that holds all her painful memories. She didn’t think she’d ever return but eventually relented for her brother who’s throwing a party. She also thinks it might be a good time to also put the ghosts of her past to rest. But what she doesn’t expect is to have all those old feelings come rushing back the moment she arrives back in town. Having to confront her past again after all this time will test her on many levels. But ultimately, she discovers that she never really moved on at all and her heart had always belonged to Dez. What happens when they come face to face after so long? And what happens when their truths are laid bare? With deceit, betrayal and manipulation in the mix- will the real truth finally come out? Will these revelations unite them once again, or destroy any shred of love they had left?
These characters were amazing- so realistic, relatable and believable. I was rooting for them fairly early on in the story. This story took me on quite the emotional journey, which is something Ms. Sullivan excels at. I felt their pain and heartbreak and couldn’t believe what they’d been through- especially when everything that happened when they broke up is fully revealed- I was shocked and hurt for them. There were definitely a couple of characters that I wanted to hit after finding out what happened!!!
Another wonderful story from Ms. Sullivan. I am looking forward to reading Quinn’s story next in “Our Unexpected Hope”.

Thank you, Ms. Sullivan!

I love this story. The story line, the characters, the writing style, the adventure. I love it!
Karalyn and Dez, childhood best friends turned high school sweethearts, turned enemies?!? But can they get back what was lost?!

There was a lot of heart ache in this story but from that heartache came their “next chapter”. Sullivan let Karalyn know every emotion possible. In turn we as the reader got to experience every emotion as well. While Karalyn learned how to live with heart break we felt her every pain. The love. We felt her anger. And denial. Every emotion Karalyn experienced thanks to Dez we felt it too.

This book was easy to follow and read. The villains were not the usual villains, but they were still easy to hate. And Karalyn proves to herself that she really doesn’t need Dez.

Sullivan breaks your heart during this story and then just as easily puts it together again.

**sigh**

I just finished this and oh my goodness…..I messed up and read Our Unexpected Hope first which was ok it did not mess anything up, and it was in reading Our Unexpected Hope that made me pick this one up like seconds after finishing. I can honestly say, I never like to go back and read a book when I pretty much already know the outcome of who was in that book. But in this case I had to. The characters of Dez and Karalyn..I don’t even have words for these two….I simply fell in love with both of them..Their story broke my heart more than once and they caused more than a few tears. I just don’t know what to say to give this book or this author the justice thats deserved. I can’t even tell you which one of these books I liked better because they were both simply awesome and I recommend them both. This author has a style about her writing that grabs you and doesn’t let go even after you read the last word.

I already want to read them both again and I will very soon and then I just know I will very soon after that. I loved them.

I will be one of the first in line for any and everything this author comes up with. Another one of those books that 5 stars just isn’t enough!

Another wonderful emotional rollercoaster from Michelle Sullivan! It has it all: true love, loss, drama. As has been my experience with her books before, Sullivan grabbed my attention on the first page. The characters were well developed. So I’ve gone and done it this time, I read this book before Our Next Chapter and although it was ok and I never felt lost I know that after what I read in this story that I had to go back and read the first and Im doing that right this second but wanted to get this review written before the stories got blurred and I mix up my thoughts.

I can not even put in words how much I love this author, this is not my first book by her and will absolutely not be the last, I went into this story without even reading the synopsis, that’s what happens when you read a book by an author on your favorites list, doesn’t matter what the book is about, her name is on it…I read it. This is why I read out of order. I highly recommend this story, the characters were awesome and the dialogue between them was perfect. Noah and Quinn had a relationship that started quite quickly and progressed quite fast but with everything in this story and how it was all written it all totally worked. There is so much more to this story than just a romance between two people. The “parents” were so amazing and I found myself laughing out loud at some of the comments a father had to hear his daughter say, and how he reacted was spot on!

This was such a beautiful story that brought me to tears more than once and even more than twice. The storyline was unique and the talent this author has had me finishing it in one sitting, it all flowed so smoothly and perfectly. Do yourself a favor, read these books..I highly recommend reading Our Next Chapter first..You do not have to but I promise you will wish you had because this whole story is just amazingly beautiful!! One of those books that truly deserves more than just five stars!

Loved It!!

Michelle Sullivan’s Our Unexpected Hope is a contemporary romance that centers on Quinn and Noah, their lives, including the highs and lows. This book read well and it was seamless in its transition from chapter to chapter, introduction of new characters and how they interested to other characters. I immediately liked Quinn’s character. Her thoughts, feelings and choices felt realistic, to include how she reacted to events that occur within her life. The dynamic between Quinn and her family was amazing, well done and brilliant. Moving on to Noah, his character was magnetic, something drawing you straight to him, so you can imagine the appeal that he puts off without trying. This story was an emotional read and Michelle Sullivan showcases her talent in the way she had the characters’ handle the events, choices and aftermath from the decisions made. This is a story I took pleasure in reading, one that touched me emotionally, and that I highly recommend.

Every time I pick up a book by this author I know that I am going to be in for a read that I cannot put down and I was proved right yet again. Michelle Sullivan has a way of writing that captures your attention from the very beginning, she brings her characters to life in a way that they feel real almost if you are there living their journey with them. My heart literally broke for Noah, to grow up the way he did must have been awful – no child should grow up without knowing what it is like to be loved unconditionally and it makes me so sad that this happens. Quinn’s upbringing was the complete opposite to Noah but when they met they just fit, they were perfect for each other. I know to expect a few emotional moments from this author and this book certainly had a few of them in fact I feel emotional just thinking back on what I have read.

The story Our Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that I loved reading and I didn’t want to put down until I had finished the last page. It draws you in from the very beginning and I was hooked. It is a story that takes you on an emotional journey and I found myself believing in true love and soulmates. It is a book that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. It had my emotions going up and down as I felt my way through. I loved reading about Quinn and Noah. Quinn is a woman who is a romantic. She is beautiful, kind, and loving. She is sure that when the right man comes along that she will be able to tell he is the one. She has found herself very attracted to Noah. Noah is the head chef for a restaurant. Something he is proud of. Noah has never really felt the love of a family to call his own. He, however, knows that Quinn is someone special and wants to get to know her. This story/journey is a beautiful one. Life sometimes hands you the unexpected. I grew to love both Quinn and Noah with each chapter that I read. They are both amazing characters that you can root for and want them to be happy. This is a book that had me with a smile on my face and also tears in my eyes. It is one of those stories that stays with you and I found myself thinking about long after I had finished. It is a book that you will not want to miss out on and one I highly recommend reading.

Our Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan is a story that will take your emotions on a rollercoaster ride.
Quinn believes in true love. How couldn’t she when her parents show her each and every day what it is. And she knows that she wants it for herself. She knows that she will feel it when she meets the one.
Noah, on the other hand, hasn’t ever really experienced the love of a family. He doesn’t have the strong belief in true love. However he does know that he wants to get to know Quinn more.
With their different views their journey will be anything but easy. Will they be able to find their way in the end?
With this book you certainly feel all the emotions – from sadness to happiness and everything in between. Noah and Quinn are two characters that have you fully believing in them and their story. It had you following their journey so close. I liked that the author managed to find a way for them both to capture my heart in completely different ways to each other. This was well written and a great story to read.

This book put me through an emotional ringer!! The love between Noah and Quinn is so amazing and supportive and hot!! There is so much I want to say but I don’t want to give anything away. My heart broke for the struggles and loss they had to endure. Where a lot of couples would have split up because of what they went through especially at such a young age, it made them stronger. Noah grew up in foster care and never had a family so when he found Quinn he new that he wanted to build a family with her. Quinn has a wonderful family and she’s hoping to find the kind of love that her parents have. Quinn’s parents are very much in love, and she has a very close relationship with them and her little brother. I became completely emotionally invested while I was reading this wonderful, heartbreaking, full of hope story. I can’t say enough good things about this story it was so well written, I cried tears of sadness and tears of happiness. I felt as though I was right there with them. About Michelle Sullivan

Writing freakin’ rocks!! I never in a million years thought that I could write a book, but I did. Once I started writing, I never in a million years thought that I would let anyone else read it, but I did. Now, less than 2 years after I released my first novel, I am getting ready to release my 4th… and not only do I absolutely love the writing process, but I am damn proud of what I have accomplished 🙂

My first novel, A Leap into Destiny, was released in June of 2016 and since then I have also released Room 208, Sunset After the Storm and my newest (coming February 27, 2018) is called Our Next Chapter.

A little about me outside of the writing world…

I am a wife to an amazing man who has been my number one supporter since the day I told him my writing plans. I am also a mom to 2 grown boys who refuse to read any of my books (apparently reading romance written by their mom is traumatizing) but have still been incredibly supportive of me.

I love to read! When I start a book, I refuse to stop reading until I am done with it. I can’t go to sleep at night without finishing whatever book I have started. That has made for some incredibly late nights but it is totally worth it.

I am a huge dog lover. I have 3 dogs (Bella, Meeka and Piglet) and also work for Dog Cruces Magazine in Southern New Mexico. I have some of the most amazing co-workers on the planet and can honestly say I love my job.

That is me in a nutshell. Enjoy and Happy Reading!!!!

Emotions are real and raw because of those that deemed they knew better  with secrets and lies, betrayal and hurt, threats and malice, loss and love, fears and  uncertainty.     Once I started this book I was unable to put it down until I had finished. My heart aches  for what our characters went through and it hits home for what those of us who were  young mothers and our own struggles. Love, romance, and sex ✔
Ugly cry ✔
Unbelievably great story ✔
Crying from the first page can only mean one thing: I am either going to hate this book or I am going to freaking love it! By the end I’m still not sure how I feel about it. I will recommend it to everyone, especially those looking for a great heart wrenching story.
Have you ever cried so much that your face actually hurt? If not, please pick up Sunset after the Storm by Michelle Sullivan and a few boxes of tissues. I truly didn’t know how to write a review for such a tragic story. But I’ve been thinking, while letting my puffy eyes relax, this story didn’t just tell us about the horrible disease that affects Scotti and Mason, it told us, no it showed us, how important love truly is. Whether that love is 50 years old or 10 days old, unconditional love can make everything easier, even death.
There are clique’s that roll through everyone’s mind when thinking or talking about death; Live life to the fullest, live like there’s no tomorrow, you don’t know what you have until its gone. Scotti and Mason lived these everyday they were together. They saw the bigger picture of life.

“It may seem like no big deal to some people but when you have absolutely nothing in your life, you look forward to those little things that bring you happiness and peace.”

This book and author have moved right up into the top of my favorite list!

Scottlyn Marks is definitely having the worst day from hell, it is one she will never be able to recover from. She finds herself at the one place in the world she loves, the beach, but today it doesn’t sooth her. She is trying to make sense of her life after being given the worst possible news ever. When she is approached by a stranger, little do either of them know that this one action would change their lives forever.

Mason Shaw stumbles across a beautiful woman who is sitting all alone on the beach. But why is she crying? For some reason he can not seem to walk away from her. After pouring her heart out to him she walks away but Mason can not let her go, never wants to let her go. After this simple meeting he falls hard for this one woman and wants her in his life forever.

Both finally finding their first love, they have finally begun to live but he soon finds out she only has months to live. Scotti struggles with loving him knowing that she is going to be leaving him. She struggles for the injustice that brought them together at this time in her life. Mason struggles with what will come after she is gone. He vows to take it one day at a time.

Can both Scotti and Mason make some sort of peace and come to terms with this horrible disease that will tear them apart? Will Mason be able to live without Scottie? Will Mason let her go? Is Mason prepared to say goodbye?

This is a beautiful, yet extremely emotional rollercoaster of a story. It is a story of two people who finally find one another, find first time love only to have it taken away too soon. Trust me when I say you are going to need a box of tissues just to get through this book. Michelle has woven a magical, beautiful story that is absolutely tragically heart wrenching. OMG Your heart and soul is with these characters with every step of their journey.

Room 208 By Michelle Sullivan – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Room 208Room 208 by Michelle Sullivan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Room 208 by Michelle Sullivan is unlike any other book I have ever read before and I have to say that I loved it from beginning to end. Michelle Sullivan writes a wonderful romance and not the typical romance that I am used to reading. I loved the plot, story line, and the outcome truly moved me and I think could move anyone that is married and currently in a rough spot. I see this book as an amazing romance but also a book that couples also learn a lot from, I know that I have!

Sam and Ollie are married, both work, and have twins. Lately all they seem to be doing is fighting and they both are unhappy but don’t seem to make the time to sit down and talk. Finally they are able to get away to a hotel, room 208, this room begins to be an escape for them both. This is a place they can talk and get back the love they both have and it is also the place where they can explore each other ways they never have. When things are starting to go right, Ollie starts a new project with a young rich girl. Ollie feels that they are friends but Sam thinks different. Sam tried to give this girl the benefit of the doubt but as time goes by, she sees her for what she really is. Follow Sam and Ollie on the road to saving themselves, save the family they love, and a marriage that means so much to them.

I loved this book with such a passion and really makes me see what can happen when you take time from a busy life to fix your marriage or relationship. I loved this book being about an already committed couple and how they both want to fix this and how they together are able to fight outside influences. I think anyone who loves romance or even a married couple could read this together. I happily give this book 5 stars and I know it will be a book that reread many times. Well Done Michelle Sullivan!!!

Here’s a great story about love, marriage and communication!
Being married for ten years, Sam and Ollie have found themselves in a slump. Life takes a toll, jobs, kids and those questionable friends. Sometimes you forget how special that certain someone really is. The clichés like “you don’t know how good something is until it’s gone” is so true in this story. Sometimes you really don’t know what you have until it’s gone. Marriage means love which means trying and working together. And even though marriage can be tough work there is also love, happiness and rewards. A marriage takes both the husband and wife to work together and communicate.
Michelle Sullivan is able to draw you into her story. You will feel the same pain as Sam and Ollie when things begin to go down hill.

“I feel like every bone in my body is being crushed. I have never felt this kind of pain in my life and I just don’t know how I am ever going to feel good again.”

And you also get to feel the amazing love they share because some things really are worth fighting for.

“…..we hit some mountains, but at the end of the day, our love for each other outweighs any stuff that anyone can throw at us and learning that now will only make us stronger and stronger in the years to come.”

Sometimes when reading a really good book you experience many emotions and have conflicting thoughts. My main thought while reading Room 208 is that men are so dumb and then women are so dumb. Of course if I had been in Sam and Ollie’s situation my reactions may have gotten me arrested! I really love the way these two were able to come together to start solving their problems. However as in real life, not everything in this book is all unicorns and rainbows! Please read this book!

A Leap into Destiny By Michelle Sullivan – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

A Leap into DestinyA Leap into Destiny by Michelle Sullivan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Leap into Destiny by Michelle Sullivan is a wonderful read full of love, unhappiness, and so many twist and turns. Michelle Sullivan writes a story so true, you feel it’s real and draws you in instantly showing that even single parents need love and a happy ending. This book has the romance, has the drama, and has you sitting on the edge of your seat. It’s a perfect combination for any readers, I know I am suggested this read to many of my friends who loved it as much as I did.

Isabella and Mikie meet at the park and instantly hit it off, both are also being raised by single parents. Alli, who is the mother of Isabella was left alone in a hospital to give birth when Seth, her ex, left her. She has many issues with men because of this and her support system is her mother. Jason, who is the father to Mikie, is grieving for his wife that passed and has had issues bonding with his own son. After time, the friendship they have changes into something more serious. Jason knows he is attracted to Alli but he has guilt about “cheating” on his wife. But even Jason cannot deny the pull to Alli. When the past comes back into Alli’s life, she worries about her safety and Isabella’s. Jason fears that he could lose yet another women he loves with all his heart.

What I truly loved about this story, is the believable factor. It was like I was reading a true story and enjoyed every minute of. There was enough angst and twists and turns that will leave you at the edge of your seat. I love how slowly the sparks became so much that they both just gave in. I love what a mother Alli is and I just adore how Jason treats Alli. They both are on the road to a happy ending all FOUR of them deserve and so need. I happily give this book 4 stars and would recommend this to book to everyone. Once you dig in you will not want to stop.
