Devil's Dilemma (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #4)Devil’s Dilemma by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Dilemma is the fourth novel in the Colorado Chapter series by Manda Mellet. This is my fourth novel by this author.

Melissa meets Skull at a bar one night and while she is surprised he would be attracted to an older woman, the two start a relationship.

He introduced her to his brothers in the MC and she feels like she had finally found her place where she is happy.

But one day Skull leaves but doesn’t come back which worries the others. Soon they believe him to be dead.

I don’t want to give too much away but this was a really loved this novel.

I read the others and each one has a different emotion while reading. It’s amazing that the author has accomplished this and leaves me wanting more of these characters.

I hope there is another novel because this is my favorite by far.

Protecting His Heart: a Lawson Family Novel (Lawson Family Series Book 2) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly – Review by Moriah Venable

Protecting His Heart (Lawson Family, #2)Protecting His Heart by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Protecting His Heart is the second novel in the Lawson Family series by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This is my second novel by this author.

Ian is a police officer is in his small hometown. Because of his abusive childhood, he moves in with his best friend’s family who takes him and they eventually move. Once he is older, he returns to town. He isn’t looking for a relationship but has an attraction to Rachel. The more he sees her, the more tempted he is.

Rachel has issues of her own. The guy she thought she would marry but things aren’t looking good. She wants to be a wife and have a family. Her attraction to Ian, makes her think she should break up with her boyfriend Josh.

If she breaks up with Josh, what then? Will Ian and her be able to have a relationship or will his past taint the relationships and life they could have.

I really loved this story. Its very rare that the female lead is already in a relationship with someone before meeting the male lead. Which was some nice added conflict for the plot.

The characters made you feel for them especially Ian. Reading more about him was so heartbreaking but at the same time I was glad that he was able to move away.

I look forward to another novel.

A Dark Sparrow Box Set (Dark Sparrow Series Books 1-3) by India Kells – Review by Moriah Venable

A Dark Sparrow Box Set - Books 1-3A Dark Sparrow Box Set – Books 1-3 by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Dark Sparrow Box set features the first three books in the Dark Sparrow series by India Kells.

The first novels features three brothers who have secrets and three women who come into their lives.

The brothers are trying to get away from their father but with their life, they never can.

I love the characters and how the men are okay with being alone or suffering from family tragedies until they meet the one that will melt the ice around their heart and show them there is more to life then how they are currently living.

It sounds like there will be three more books and I am excited to meet the other three brothers and see how this series ends.

Friend (What Happens on Campus Series Book 3) by M L Sparrow – Review by Moriah Venable

FriendFriend by M.L. Sparrow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Friend is the third novel in the What Happens on Campus series by M. L. Sparrow. This is my fourth novel by this author.

Terri is the twin that is proud to be able to take care of herself but her life changes when she gets attacked on campus. She decides to stay home for Spring Break.

Her best friend Jet stays on campus with her to fill her days with fun and to help her heal. For three years, he has paid no interest to her feelings for him. While struggling to be a writer, he starts to see Terri in a new light. Can he convince her his feelings are real?

This is my favorites of the series so far. It was a little hard to read because of the topic and Terri’s attack but I am so grateful that the author including this as part of the plot because it is something that does happen a lot on college grounds and sometimes it feels like it gets swept under the rug with not much being done.

I hope we get more of the series because I love college romances.

Calling the Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer Kelly-Review by Moriah Venable

Calling the CurveballCalling the Curveball by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Calling the Curveball is the first novel in the Family Lawson series by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This is my first novel by this author.

Jamie Lawson has a bright future playing baseball until tragedy strikes, changing the course of his life. Five years later, he is still coping and trying to pick up the pieces of his shattered life.

In walks Kira Walker, who asked him and surprising he agrees but will the pain he still holds preventing him from finding love?

I don’t want to give anything away but this was an emotional story that I was not ready for but truly enjoyed. I fell in love with the characters as well as the supporting characters and hope we see them again in their own books.

The emotional roller-coaster ride from the relationship between Jamie and Kira just had me wishing for a happy ending for them and for Jamie to finally move forward in life and be happy. With such a simple plot, the story was more complex and intricate with the characters and their relationships to each other.

I hope there is another book in the series because I would definitely read it.

Claimed (The Torzial Affair Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Moriah Venable

CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3)CLAIMED by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Claimed is the third novel in the Torzial Affair series by Via Mari. This is my third novel by this author.

Jenny has gone through a lot and has come out on top but someone is still after her and its time to finally find out who is after her so she can finally live a peaceful life.

Her relationship with Brian has changed from sexually to them finally admitting their feelings to each other. Brian opening up his heart and showing Jenny the world she had always been curious about, but with danger lurking around every corner, who is really loyal to who?

This was another fast paced novel where I wasn’t sure what was going on and there was so many twists and turns and people in danger and mafia kidnappings, that I had to reread some parts.

This series surprised in some many ways and I am glad that I gave it a try.

Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Moriah Venable

Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2)Bound by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bound is the second novel in the Torzial Affair series by Via Mari. This is my second novel by this author.

With the news of her ex-boyfriend killed, all evidence points to Jenny, who did not commit the crime. Someone is framing her and even making up evidence. Knowledge of Ty, her ex boyfriend, embezzle money in the company she has worked so far to build up, Jenny has to make some tough decisions including what her relationship is with Brian before it becomes too late. She has people after her on every side, and not sure who to trust. Anyone could be working against her.

This novel was really fast paced with trying to find evidence to clear up Jenny’s name in the murder and to find out who really did it, but things weren’t looking so good for her. Her feelings for Brian are becoming stronger and wonders if she cares for her in the same way that she does for him.

I can’t believe I finished this a few hours and I am on the seat of seat to find out how this ends.

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Moriah Venable

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1)Shattered by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shattered is the first novel in the Torzial Affair by Via Mari. This is my first novel by this author.

While attending her best friend’s wedding, Jenny Torzial attracts the attention of Brian Carrington. They sneak off for more privacy and when a kiss leads to possibly more, Jenny kicks him in the groin and runs out the room, confusing Brian. He tries to think nothing of it, but he wants to know more about her.

With the possibility of mafia, tracking her because of her association, Brian could be way in over his head.

This story really surprised me. I thought I knew how it was going to go but I was so wrong. Jenny is a strong character who is trying to make a name for herself and make her father proud but there are things about her past that she is start healing and turns to alcohol to face her demons.

Brian has a hard life and is unable to trust people but shows he has a caring side when he meets Jenny.

I can’t wait to see what happens next.

After Wrath is the second novel in the Deadliest Sin series by Gwyn McNamee. This is my eleventh novel by this author.

Continuing where Wrath left off, it’s been a few years but are things really quiet?

Here we are introduced to the character Aleksander who wants revenge. I know he is the bad guy but I really did love reading from perspective even possibly finding a love of his own.

I don’t want to give too much away but I highly recommend reading this.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wrath is the first novel in the Deadliest Sins series. This is my tenth novel by this author.

Initially reading this, I felt like there some other part of the story that I had missed. The main characters had already fled and were trying to rebuild their lives but I wasn’t sure what had happened to them before.

Continuing to read, it didn’t matter what I missed. The story gave me flashbacks and bits of information to put some pieces together though not a full picture.

When his women is taken,  Konstandin risks everything to rescue her even if it meant his own life.

I love this author and I will happily read everything she writes.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Surviving Wrath is the last novel in the Deadliest Sins series by Gwyn McNamee. This is my twelfth novel by this author.

With such a fast paced conclusion, it left me with a lot of questions and I hope the author may come back to this series to fill in the blanks. Felt like the ending was open ended with the possibility for me which I am all for. The ending definitely leaves you speechless and not sure what to think. I have all these questions about what happened to the characters and how things progress.

The novels are really short and quick to read but they are worth it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Out Bad is the first novel in the Sinners or Saints series by Janice M Whiteaker. This is my first novel by this author.

Joe is a former bad boy who had turned over a new leaf. He has a sweet and caring personality but because of his past mistakes he still beats himself over it, while also trying to find redemption.

While Joe is trying to convince Gwen that they can be more, his past returns and threatens the life and relationship he has found for himself. Will be able to protect Gwen?

I am really starting to love romantic suspense stories and this one really caught up attention. The chemistry and attraction between Gwen and Joe was off the charts. The emotion and turmoil coming off from each character. I just wanted them to find peace and be happy.

I am hoping there is more in the series because I would love to read more by this author.

Finding herself caught between not knowing about her past and being abducted by someone unknown to her, Tawny begins a journey to discover more about herself before it’s too late.

This was an interesting take on the shifter genre and one I hope there is more of. Tawny was a different protagonist then what I normally see and I felt her name fit her character because it was also unique.

There was a lot of twists and turns and left me wanting to quickly turn to the pages to see what happens next.

With school starting again tomorrow, I’m glad I got a chance to read this and can’t wait for the next book.

Orion's KissOrion’s Kiss by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Orion’s Kiss is a novel by Claire Luana. This is my sixth novel by this author.

I noticed the beautiful cover before read the plot.

Meriah Carmichael is forced to watch as her sister dies. Atleast that is her name in this lifetime. Before her name was Metrope who was a half nymph, half Titan. One of the sister tried to free their Dad Atlas from their curses but failed and got cursed themselves.

So now each lifetime, Metrope has to watch Orion’s, Zeus’ bodyguard kills her sisters but this time maybe she has found a way to stop him.

I really enjoyed this story. I don’t know much about Greek mythology but I always love stories that have that element in them.

Meriah was an interesting character and I thought it was cool that our name is similar just spelled different.

I thought Orion was some bad guy who enjoyed what he was doing but there was more to his character that I originally thought.

I look forward to reading more by this author.

For anyone looking for steamy scenes with a twist, I recommend.

The Girls across the Bay (The Knox and Sheppard Mysteries, Book 1) by Emerald O’Brien – Review by Moriah Venable

The Girls Across The Bay (Knox and Sheppard, #1)The Girls Across The Bay by Emerald O’Brien
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Girls Across the Bay is the first novel in the Knox and Sheppard series by Emerald O’ Brien. This is my first novel by this author.

I really enjoyed this mystery novel involving two girls that are in foster care and are separated but meet again as adults because of their careers. It made me curious how much the two had changed as the years passed and how much the past affected their lives. The author does an amazing job of weaving the past and present giving the reader just enough information without spoiling too much and still leaving some questions to be answered.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this novel or not. Sure it had some flaws such as some things didn’t feel all that realistic but it didn’t take away from the story just because some things were described or in depth.

I loved the characters as well as the twists and turns. I don’t want to give away too much.

This a series I look forward to continuing.

Gumshoe and the Mysterious Mushrooms is the first novel in the Gumshoe Mystery series by Laura Hawks. This is my first novel by this author.

On her 15th birthday, she sets out to clear her family name after her father is arrested. Her partner is a cat named Gumshoe, who is her familiar.

This was a really good novel and very refreshing. I haven’t read much in a while so I was really enjoying this funny YA cozy mystery. Gumshoe had me laughing often while reading. He is a cat that drinks coffee and wine and tries to help Mia with the investigation. What secrets will the two uncover?

From the title, one isn’t sure what to expect but this is cute read and I am excited for the next book.

Children Of The FutureChildren Of The Future by Jane Suen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Children of the Future is a novel by Jane Suen. This is my first novel by this author.

In the small town of Rocky Flats, the weeks starts like any other but when 25 students and 3 teachers disappear, the town rallies together to solve this mystery. With help from the bus driver whose name is Telly and another student, follows clues in search of the missing people.

From the title of this novel, I thought the plot had something to do with the future like kids from the future coming to the past for an unknown reason. But the mystery is more than even I thought it was going to be.

The novel started out slow, but it did keep me interested. With the holiday, I wasn’t able to do a binge a read like I usually do, so I had to keep putting it down, but once it got into the story, I was reading it more quickly.

For anyone who wants to interesting and unique mystery, I would recommend.

Odette Allemand is a woman who doesn’t fear death since she practices Voodoo. She also gets reincarnated after she dies whenever she meets her soulmate. Not wanting to die this time, she is sure she can beat the cycle.

James Malveaux is werewolf who hasn’t seen Odette in years but once the two meet again, his wolf wants to claim her as his mate.

Can the two change fate and have a happy life together?

This is my favorite of the series so far. The premise was different than anything I’ve read before and the romance between the two felt refreshing and different because of that.

I loved the main character’s name because it was unique and it made me think of the Swan Princess movie.

I hope there is another novel in this series soon.

Steele Resolve (The Hawke Family Book 6) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Moriah Venable

Steele Resolve (Hawke Family #6)Steele Resolve by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Steele Resolve is the sixth novel in the Hawke Family series my Gwyn McNamee. This is my ninth novel by this author.

Words can’t describe how I feel after reading this. This author is one of my favorites and I have to read whatever she writes when I see she has something new coming out.

This was just as emotional and roller coaster ride as the previous novels and I loved this one to pieces. It had me sad, cry, happy and at times I wasn’t sure what to feel.

I read that this was the last installment in the Hawke family series. I am not ready to say goodbye to these characters. In fact, I may just reread the series including the novels I did not get a chance to read.

I don’t read a lot of M/M romances but I am going to start putting this on my list especially anything as engaging as this with Romeo and Juliet vibe (which is my favorite play).

I look forward to authors next novel even if the book is not this series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Due is the third novel in the Satan’s Devils MC Colorado series by Manda Mellett. This is my third novel by this author.

I haven’t had much time to read lately because of school, but this was nice and needed break.

I am starting to become hooked on this series and like the previous books, it feels like each book gets better and better.

I don’t wanna give too much of the plot away but I will say this novel will leave you on the edge of your seat. From their first meeting, the female protagonist Stevie, and the male protagonist are on a roller coaster ride of twist and turns and sassy personalities which I loved.

The male protagonist wasn’t looking for a relationship, after getting out of one, but he can’t help but feel drawn to Stevie. Stevie has this self reliant personality about her and I loved reading her history. Made me love her all the more.

I don’t read many books involving bikers, but I may start finding others similar to this.

I may be behind in my schoolwork now, but this novel was definitely worth it. Each cover is so unique that it helps pull you into the story.

I hope we get another novel in this series.

Dinner with The Wolf (Misfits & Rogues Series Book 2) by Kimberly Forrest – Review by Moriah Venable

Dinner with The Wolf (Misfits & Rogues Series Book 2)Dinner with The Wolf by Kimberly Forrest
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dinner with The Wolf is the second novel in the Misfits and Rogues series by Kimberly Forrest. This is my first novel by this author.

Taking place after the first book, which follows Vivian after she has made a contract with Thane to not lose her beauty. She is an actress but she didn’t read the fine print and would be in Thane’s debt for 200 years.

Knowing that Thane will kill her after what she did, she runs and in this book she tries to keep a low profile in order to not be found. Jules Kincaid, who doesn’t like her, is tasked with bringing her back, something he doesn’t want to do. Jules is also having trouble with his wolf, and slowing starting to lose his sanity.

Will these two continue to argue and hate each other or is it just cover for their attraction to each other?

It has been some time since I was able to read a paranormal romance novel and there were a few elements I enjoyed. One, being enemies to lovers. No matter how many times I read it, I never get tired of it.

I will admit this was the first time I was not very fond of the female protagonist. She was self centered and just came off vain. Over time, she was more likeable and her character began to develop more.

Overall, I recommend this novel and I look forward to reading the next time.

Smoke & Mirrors (Nite Fire #3)Smoke & Mirrors by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Smoke and Mirrors is the third novel in the Nite Fire series by C.L. Schneider. This is my second novel by this author.

While I have not read the second novel, I was excited to start this. I was not confused much while reading.

Dahlia and her partner Alex Creed work on a case involving dismembered bodies that are not human. While investigating, Dahlia is forced into worlds: the world of humans and the world of the supernatural. Will she be able to solve the case and find the one responsible?

I really enjoyed this novel and loved the two worlds aspect with Dahlia feeling conflicted which fit with her personality. I love reading about her. She is a strong, interesting, female character that is relatable and shows a lot of emotion.

With school starting again, it hard to get into a book, but this book was a rollercoaster that left me wanting to finish reading even though I had papers and assignments to finish.

For anyone looking for a interesting take on the supernatural genre, I highly recommend this series. The covers are so pretty, they just pull you in.

Fierce Emotions is the eighth novel in the Marcy series by Linda Burson. This is my third novel by this author.

With a new edition to the family arriving soon, the family moves into a house and things seem to be going well.

When Marcy and the family visit her parents in Philadelphia, she appears to be having the nightmares again. After overhearing a conversation, her world is turned upside down.

I really enjoyed this novel though I was alittle lost. I haven’t read the other novels in the series leading up to this novel so I wasn’t familiar with Marcy’s journey and how she got to that point in her life but after reading this, I definitely plan on bingeing the whole series.

This novel is filled with suspense and twist and turns. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happened, I was completely surprised.

I recommend this novel novel and series to anyone looking for something different to read.
