East Beach (Red Farlow Mysteries: #3)East Beach by W.F. Ranew
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

East Beach by W.F. Ranew is the 3rd book in the Red Farlow Mystery series. This is a highly intriguing book that is full of twists and turns the entire way through.
This is one of those books that you really have to pay attention to as there is so much going on. The author has created a complex and intriguing plot that really keeps the pages turning. I gave up trying to figure out what was going to happen because the author was so good at leading down a certain path only to change things up in a second.
This book was well written and full of suspense it really was a brilliant book to read. I would definitely recommend this book!

All the while her daughter Shannon, runs to Logan for help. Being too shocked to talk, Logan sends over boyfriend Ben to check out the house. That is just the first few pages of this Intense mystery. This is a must read!

Valerie Davisson has gone to great lengths to write this book. Her information is spot on, which makes you want more. I love her characters, strong independent women, and stronger men. At the end you find yourself pondering over the story. It will stay up front, one to remember. Such a strong mystery/thriller making this a page turner. I know you will enjoy this book as much as I did. Job well done Valerie Davisson!!

East Beach (Red Farlow Mysteries: #3)East Beach by W.F. Ranew
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have really enjoyed the Red Farlow Mysteries by WF Ranew, so when I saw there was a new one available I instantly one-clicked. I was not disappointed with East Beach either, in fact this may just be my favorite so far. Ranew really has a knack for writing suspense and mystery. I was constantly second guessing myself as I read, wondering if things really were what they seemed on the surface, but this sucker throws in some twists and turns that you won’t see coming. I was on the edge of my seat and found myself reading this in one fell swoop well past my bedtime. I really loved the backdrop as well I felt as if I was visiting a mysterious and creepy misty beach town the entire time.

In Easy Beach we find Red Farlow, the PI we have come to love, receiving an odd message from his friend. When he decides to look into it more and go to his friend he discovers him laying in a pool of blood after being shot. He will now stop at nothing to discover who killed his friend and why. The adventure is one you won’t want to miss and I can’t wait to see what else we will find Red Farlow doing next!

East Beach: Red Farlow Mysteries: #3 by W.F. Ranew is a mystery thriller story. It will have you thinking you had it figured out only to be slipped a twist and a turn here and there and you had no idea. WF is very good a character building and they are well written. Red finds his friend on deaths door and is now on the hunt to find out who did this. The trail leads to drugs and cartel and your share of seedy bad guys. It also leads to more questions than answers. There are a lot of moving people and pictures in this story but WF does a good job of pulling it all together.

Vanishing Day: Logan Book 4 (The Logan McKenna Series)Vanishing Day: Logan Book 4 by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vanishing Day by Valerie Davisson is the fourth book in the Logan McKenna series. This can be read as a standalone book, but I believe better enjoyed if read in the series order. Logan has another mystery on her hands. What is going on with her new neighbor and child? Grab the book to find out. Logan has grown a lot since the first book, and she has a great group of friends who make occasional appearances to help her out. This book has some wonderful descriptions of the Pacific Coast, as well. If you are looking for a great female lead character with a story of twists and turns than this is a great book for you. I look forward to reading more from this series in the future.

Dare Game (The Irish Garda Files Book 1) by Melinda Colt, was a great little romance wrapped up in a mystery. I really loved that it is set in Ireland. I had to have a little help with a few of the words. I like that little bit of Gaelic thrown in. I like how the author brings out the emotional stress in teenagers when they have lifechanging events occur in their lives, most that they have no control over. I’m looking forward to more of the Irish Garda books.

Valerie Davisson is one of my favorite crime/mystery/thriller writers. Logan is a character that I cannot wait to read about her case. She grabs me from the first page until the last. There were many twists and turns that kept me reading, The story is a fast pace but again I had to make sure that I read everything because it is easy to miss one little clue that you could come to a conclusion that was a twist or a turn in the wrong direction. With every page, I felt like I was with Logan throughout the story. Logan is trying to solve another mystery that brings her choice of a friend in check. Logan doesn’t realize that her friend is not her friend. She needs to bring out a killer and has looked deeper than ever before. Can Logan bring the killer to justice? Will she get out from underneath this case? I highly recommend this book because it will leave you speechless.

This is my first book by this author and it will not be my last. I found that this story was a fast pace story. It is well written and I found myself turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. The suspense kept me wanting more and more. There is a murderer in town and they need to find out if there is more than meets the eye. The clues are subtle and can be missed if you read too fast. The story is so realistic that I thought it was a real crime story. There are so many twists and turns that you will start leaning one way and then smack it takes you down a different path. I highly recommend this story if you love thrillers, mysteries, and crime stories.

I feel as though every review for this series starts the same. Each installment is better than the last and my mind is blown. I feel most book series meet their expiration at book three so the fact that Valerie Davisson and Logan still have my attention, definitely says something about book 4. I thoroughly enjoyed Vanishing Day, there is sensitive subject matter written well and a storyline that once again grasps my attention from day one.
I love how the characters intertwine and of course, a strong female main character. I think of all the books in the Logan McKenna series, Vanishing Day had the most characters I really just warmed up to.
If you haven’t read any of Valerie Davisson’s writing but you enjoy a fast paced, thrilling storyline, I definitely recommend giving her writing a try. 5 out of 5 stars for this one!

This is the 4th book in the Logan McKenna series and these books keep getting better and better. I love that they have a strong female lead character and the characters are so well written it feels like you are actually there.

In this book Logan is dragged into a mystery that she never imagined when her new neighbour ends up in hospital. Was this a random incident or is something not adding up with her new neighbour. Logan starts to think that the neighbour isn’t what she seems to be and starts on a path to draw out her attacker. But how dangerous is the path she is walking and should she really be involving herself in something she doesn’t understand.

Its a gripping story full of twists and turns that keeps you guessing.

Vanishing Day: Logan Book 4 (The Logan McKenna Series)Vanishing Day: Logan Book 4 by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When your new nextdoor neighbour is not quite what you thought, will this be the next adventure.

Lori is a single mother who has moved into the house next door to Logan, although they keep to themselves. One day a commotion happens and the husband turns up looking for the daughter, the only trouble Lori has run away due to the husband being abusive. Logan involves herself to try and help Lori get away from the husband and live a happier life.

I have loved this series, getting to know Logan in each of the stories seeing her confidence grow within each story. This story hits hard as the subject matter can be a little tough to swallow but the way Valerie weaves the story makes a difficult subject matter readable and understand the reasons why Lori does what she does.

I love the way all the characters add to the story and with the plot lines weaving through it makes a interesting read, I can’t wait to read the next installment in this great series and see what happens to Logan in the next book.

East Beach (Red Farlow Mysteries: #3)East Beach by W.F. Ranew
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give East Beach: Red Farlow Mysteries: #3 by W.F. Ranew, 5 stars.

This is another great book in a wonderful Hard Boiled PI series. The story has so many twists and turns, I dare you to keep track the entire time. But don’t worry, it will all make sense as you go on. I was never exactly of the big picture since the author made sure to throw in a few subplots, but I could not put the book down — I needed to see what happened next. Such a gripping, twisting story.

But what this author really excels at and makes them stand apart is their character development. Each and every character in this story has an extensive back story. This makes them feel all that much real and you understand them so much better. You never really know who will be important later on or not, so you are left guessing just what role the character will play later on. I enjoy this aspect of the book, it makes the story feel all that more real.

This book deals with some adult situations, so I would not recommend it for a younger audience, but if you like your detective stories gritty and fully of suspense and action, this book is for you.

I knew I needed to read Dare Game, the first book in The Irish Garda Files series from Melinda Colt, the moment I saw the cover and a few teasers. It looked so thrilling and enticing that I just had to dive into the mystery between the covers. This book is a good start to what I feel will be a promising series that I look forward to reading. This one had a few moments where I did have to scratch my head with some editing and repeating but otherwise it was a gripping read. It drew me in and had me guessing the entire time I was reading.

Dare Game brings us the character, John O’Sullivan. He is an Irish detective working to solve a puzzling new murder. This book has pieces of everything for everyone to enjoy between the murder mystery, the thrilling adventure the characters find themselves on, and the undertones of romance and drama to keep the reader thoroughly engaged. I can’t wait to see what book two, Killer Score, will bring us!

VANISHING DAY (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 4) by Valerie Davisson . I have absolutely loved this series and this book was no different. Its the continuing saga of Logan McKenna whose new young neighbor is brutally attacked and left for dead. The only witness to the attack is the victim’s 3 year old daughter. When the police hit a dead end in the case Logan decides she has to find out what happened and why. As Logan starts digging she realizes her neighbor isn’t who she says she is and the danger is getting really deep. Finding out Lori, the victim, is in an abusive relationship or trying to flee from the relationship makes the case even more dangerous but that has never stopped Logan before. Will Logan and Brian find out who is trying to kill Lori and why before its too late for Lori and Logan? Each of these books can be read as standalone but they are all so good I highly recommend reading them all. The relationships and messes Logan gets herself into are so good. Just be prepared that once you start this book you won’t want to put it down!

Dare Game (The Irish Garda Files Book 1) by Melinda Colt – Review by Gail Guerrero

5 Stars

Dare Game gave me serious chills. I was shocked and sad by this story. The Game that was played was sickening. The thought that people would do these things just for money. The simple fact that people find joy in manipulation and fear is terrifying. I really liked John’s character. He was brave, strong and very reassuring. I like that he didn’t back down or send someone else to do the hard work. He got over his past for his future. Amber and Hayley were also well written. The author showed that even when faced with the unknown there can still be hope. That believing in someone or something can change your outlook on the situation. I don’t usually do mystery books but this one took my interest and I was not disappointed. I really liked the way the story flowed. The author did a good job keeping my interest and not letting the suspense get out of hand. Like make me work for it but not too hard. Overall a goof read that most people can enjoy. Especially if you like stories that have thinking.

East Beach (Red Farlow Mysteries: #3)East Beach by W.F. Ranew
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

East Beach is the third book in the Red Farlow Mysteries series by W.F Ranew. This is an in intriguing murder mystery, with crime investigation, PI, drama, danger, drug dealers, and some surprising developments. I enjoyed the previous book, but this is definitely my pick of the bunch, so far.
Red Farlow gets a strange message from a friend that has him concerned. When he arrives, he finds his friend on death door, having been shot. With his final words ringing in his ears, Red is determined to discover who shot his friend and why. And so the mystery begins.
As with the previous books, this is a detailed and descriptive story that is cleverly woven. There were a few minor issues for me, but they didn’t detract too much from my overall enjoyment of the story.

Thank you, W.F Ranew!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book four in Davisson’s ‘Logan McKenna Mystery Series’ and having read the previous novels in the series I was looking forward to this one and was definitely not disappointed. Back with our fearless and extremely likeable independent heroine Logan McKenna and I felt as though I was back with an old friend. When Logan’s new young neighbour is viciously attacked by an unknown assailant and left for dead, Logan realises that her neighbours three year old daughter is the only witness to her mothers attack. The police investigation soon comes to a halt without any leads and so Logan decides to do what she does best and investigate herself. However Logan soon discovers that her neighbour is not who she said she was and her efforts to uncover the truth of what happened put Logan herself in extreme danger. Yet again I was hooked from page one with a Logan McKenna Mystery. This story kept me gripped from beginning to end as the storyline was action packed and fast paced and the mystery element of the plot kept me guessing. The characters are all well defined and interesting in their own right but Logan really does bring the story together for me. Although each story in the series can be read as a standalone novel I think the reader will have a better understanding of Logan’s backstory if the series is read in order. I look forward to future books in this enjoyable and engaging series.

I loved reading the book EAST BEACH (Red Farlow Mysteries No. 3) by W.F. Ranew. It is a story that includes secrets, mystery, and danger. I was pulled in from the very beginning. This book has PI Red Farlow finding Joseph Trammell dying in his home. Who had shot and killed Joseph Trammell? Read this book for the full story. This is a book that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the character of Red Farlow. He is intelligent, resourceful, and once on an investigation has a fierce determination to find the truth. He would be someone I would want to hire as a PI. This story has many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Many characters are introduced and many of them help Red in his investigation. Then some have other plans and agendas. They don’t care about anyone but themselves. This is a who-done-it that is exciting and entertaining to read. You won’t be able to put it down until the final page. The author does a wonderful job of making the story and the characters come alive. I would highly recommend reading this book and series.

Pharaoh’s Forgery (Karina Cardinal Mysteries Book 4) by Ellen Butler is such a lighthearted little mystery tale. I love these books featuring Karina Cardinal. She truly is a woman that trouble seeks. It is witty, sarcastic and sounds so much like plain ordinary people, except for the Silverthorne folk of course. This was a quick and easy read for me because I just enjoyed it so much. And when I thought it was over there were still surprises at the end. You can’t go wrong with this one.
