Four Stars

Rebel Jewel is the third and final book in the Jewel Chronicles by Natalina Reis. This is a wonderful conclusion to this series full of excitement, adventure, drama and love. I would highly recommend you read this series in order to get the full back story. The first two books, Desert Jewel and Snow Jewel, are excellent reads. Melinda and Jaali are pulled out of exile to save the people of Natale, but at a high cost to their family and wellbeing. I find that the world that Ms. Reis created for this series is beautiful and scary at the same time. Once you start reading, this book won’t let you go. I was propelled to stay up later than usual just to finish, and it was well worth being tired all day today. I highly recommend this book, series and author and look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Book 3

Being the last book in this series, I recommend you start at book 1. As it holds all the information you will need to get caught up to book 3. Yes there is so much more than book 3. Rebel Jewel is the finale, the end, of a fantastic series.

Milenda and her husband Jaali, are the main characters in this journey. I say journey as that is what it is. You will watch these two people grow and concur many struggles. Don’t get me wrong, these characters have a great story to tell. Come meet their friends and enemies, follow the tough road with Milenda and Jaali. You will find good times as well as bad. But I promise this is a series you will not want to miss.

Natalina Reis has written quite the book of emotions, struggle and love. Her finale really sent this loving couple through the wringer. Her characters, their friends and even enemies play an important role in this book. This being the final book in the series. Natalia Reis really brings it all together. Therefore you must read the first 2 books. To see how she brought it all together for her finale. I truly loved this story. I am so happy I started with book one. Just so I could read how it all ended. You can be sure I will be seeking more from Natalia Reis. Her series is a must read! Thank you for the journey Natalia Reis!

Rebel Jewel (The Jewel Chronicles, #3)Rebel Jewel by Natalina Reis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Rebel Jewel (The Jewel Chronicles Book 3) by Natalina Reis, 4 stars.
**This review contains spoilers from previous books in series.**

Milenda is happy with her husband and son, living in her husband’s lands where no one knows she is a princess. But she knows it cannot last. Her people need her and the gods have declared that it is time. Can she defeat the elders and help free her people? Is she ready to step up and accept the responsibility of being the royal princess and future queen? But revolution does not come without a cost, is she willing to pay the price?

I forgot how much I loved Milenda and this series, but this book quickly reminded me of that. There is so much that happens and Milenda continues to grow and become who she is meant to be. Not mention the friends — both new and old — that are willing to stand by her and help her. I couldn’t believe how good the story itself was. It is a great conclusion to this series.

The book should be read after the previous books in the series, but I highly recommend not only this book, but the whole series.

Rebel Jewel (The Jewel Chronicles, #3)Rebel Jewel by Natalina Reis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rebel Jewel (The Jewel Chronicles Book 3) by Natalina Reis is an action packed fantasy story and the final suspenseful chapter in this series and a culmination of an intense journey the characters have been through. I suggest reading all the books in order because they do follow on from the others. The vibrant world that Natalina has created is easily visible with the wonderful characters and her word smithing. The danger is inherent and very real, the love and hope pops of the page, the drama and adventure pops of the page and you are left navigating some curly twists to help the characters get their goal and their lives.

In this installment we see Milenda and Jaali called to return to a world where slaves live in fear and torment and the Elders need to be taken down. Bringing back all the horrible memories and injustices that are being inflicted upon their countrymen and women. It is those memories that push them on to make a better life but at what cost?

Natalina ties everything up nicely making it a good finish to the series.

Rebel Jewel is the third book in the Jewel Chronicles Series by Natalina Reis. I would recommend reading the first two books so you can experience the entire story. Natalina Reis writes beautiful complex and engaging characters. It has been refreshing to see the progression of her characters from book one to this book. The plot does not stay stagnant moving in one direction. There are twists and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat because you never know which way to go. The story in a nutshell is about believing in who you are and set the record straight so that you are true to yourself. I really enjoyed this fantasy story and it is a must read for fantasy story lovers.

This is the final book in this series and I have only read the 2nd so far before this one so really feel like I need to go back and read them from Book 1 to this one so that I can get a complete and accurate feel for this entire story and give it the credit it deserves, but for where I am at this point I must say that even though I don’t normally read this genre I sincerely enjoyed what I have read. I love this author’s style of writing and I was able to truly enjoy this genre when it normally doesn’t hold my attention.

The perfectly placed twists in this book were like AWESOME and blew me away, I loved the whole idea of the storyline and the characters were amazing. I even kind of feel like I’ve been to Natale and kind of want to go back LOL

I say read this whole series, you really need to to understand and appreciate everything that goes on in this book. You won’t be sorry it is an awesome series and one that I can’t wait to read from beginning to end and have already told others to one click all 3 of these.

LOVED IT!!

I am SO sad that this series has come to an end. I have absolutely fallen in love with these characters and with Natalina Reis’s writing. I have followed from book one, Desert Jewel, then the fabulous Snow Jewel, to this and I would highly recommend that you do so as well. The story really does build perfectly with each book and you would miss so much if you didn’t follow the order.

Rebel Jewel is not short of drama, suspense, and action, in fact just when you thought the characters couldn’t possibly face more, and would be getting their happily ever after in book three Natalina Reis throws in twists and turns that will keep you second guessing yourself up until those last few pages. I am saddened to see these characters end but I am looking forward with great excitement to what will come next from Natalina Reis. I am sure it will be fabulous!

This is the final book in the Jewel Chronicles. I suggest that you read the other two books so that you understand what is going on in this one. After a couple of years respite, Milenda and Jaali must return to Natale. Although it will be dangerous, they must free and save the people from the tyranny of the elders. With the support of the gods, they start a revolution to make life better for their people. Milenda is the jewel of the nation and must make a better and safer future for her daughter. Battling racism and slavery they set out on the dangerous path to freedom.

This was an exciting end to a fantastic series. It is filled with complex and amazing characters fighting against a system that has been in place for decades. Filled with strength, determination and lots of action, this book will hold your attention until the very end.

This is the third and final installment of this series. These two characters are going to be coming back to where it all started…Natale. They have not had an easy life together and things don’t seem to be looking up. I almost feel sorry for these two. They almost seem like puppets being maneuvered by a higher power. But it’s clear to see that everyone seems to be rooting for these them to accomplish what they set out to do.

Many questions are answered as a few new one arise. They will be wishing to change the rules of a nation. But to do that they need many on their side against the Elders.
I enjoyed seeing these characters again. To find out where they are in life and what is coming up. There are quite a few of secondary characters that add some fun and danger elements to the story. This is a fitting conclusion for this series. I would recommend reading the books in order to prevent the reader from having any conclusion.

REBEL JEWEL is the third and final story in “The Jewel Chronicles” and I think it is important to read each book in order. All through the series there is amazing world building and character development.

This is one of those series that I will read again back to back. With each new story, it took me a few minutes to settle in and remember where my brain left off on the last story.

The author is a very skilled story teller and the images she paints with the words she writes is beautiful. At times I thought I knew exactly what was going on and other times I just kind of shook my head.

This is a series and an author I definitely recommend .

Rebel Jewel by Natalina Reis is the third and final book in The Jewel Chronicles series. I highly recommend reading the first two books before reading this one. This is an ongoing story and much better enjoyed as a series versus a standalone. Milenda is back from exile and she is the final catalyst needed for revolution. Does she want to take this on and endanger many including her husband and young daughter?
I have really enjoyed this series it has action, adventure, romance, intrigue and much more. Also, the characters are really great and help drive the story forward. I did not want to put this down because I had to know what would become of everyone and where the story would end. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Rebel Jewel by Natalina Reis is the third book in the Jewel Chronicle series. You do really need to be read the first two books in this series as it is a continuation of the story. You would miss out on a lot if you did not read them.
With everything the last two books built up to you knew this one would be fantastic. These characters have been through so much and to watch them have to go through even more was heartbreaking. I was desperate for them to find a way through.
This author has such a great writing style. It ebbs and flows perfectly. She even throws in a few surprises for along the way. This has been a brilliant series and one I would definitely recommend you read.

Rebel Jewel is the third and final instalment in the Jewel Chronicles by Natalina Reis. We’ve been on quite a journey since we set off in “Desert Jewel” (Book #1). The characters have been through so much and they have even more to face in this, the series finale. This is a brilliant fantasy- with action, adventure, suspense, romance, drama, danger, responsibility, intrigue, twists & turns, revolution, good vs. evil, family, and emotion .
As this is the last book in the series, and follows on from the previous two books, it would be advisable to read “Desert Jewel” and “Snow Jewel” before embarking on this journey. The foundations of the story, character information and world development all began in “Desert Jewel”- and then that story is built upon more in “Snow Jewel”, before leading into this final chapter- so having all of that information will enhance your whole reading experience.
Ms. Reis writes beautifully, and her talent is very apparent throughout the book. The characters are wonderful, and the world in which the book is set is rich and vibrant, with exquisitely detailed scene setting. And as I have said before, I think the characters and the fantastic world building are what really sets this story/series apart from others.
This book sees Milenda and Jaali embark on their most dangerous quest yet. There is much at stake- and much to lose if they fail. Revolution always comes at a price- what will theirs be?
This story is so well woven with tension and suspense. There is heightened emotion too, as everything unfolds. And in true Natalina Reis style, there are surprises and a few twists to keep us on our toes.
A superb end to the series!

Thank you, Ms. Reis!

Rebel Jewel is the third and final book in the Jewel Chronicles series and what a final instalment it was! I have really enjoyed this series and I have to say I think this book was probably my favourite even though it was really hard to decide that as they were all great reads!
I loved reuniting with characters Milenda and Jaali, I really enjoyed following their story as they continued their mission in Natale. I love the depth of these characters and how much they evolve over the stories. I was rooting for them both the whole way through the story to succeed in their mission!
The author really works hard with the world building in her stories and it really does make a difference – I am fully absorbed in what I am reading and can vividly imagine everything that I am reading.
I have really enjoyed this series and I 100% recommend it – from detailed writing to wonderful characters it made for an exciting and entertaining read.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great read about rebellion. Milenda and Jaali have lived in peace in Isvarld for a few years now. But nothing is ever constant and soon they are called back to Afrika. They return into murky waters in order to save both the Natalans and the Fjordens who have been enslaved for years. Can they survive long enough to see long term peace in their lives and their nation?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Milenda courageous but caring underneath or Jaali stubborn but anxious underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the sweet Johari or the Mama Nyeusi as the voice of reason and humour or the sarcastic gods later on.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the jungle with its ferns and fronds and river full of sights and sounds so vivid it’s as if you’re actually there. Or the marketplace full of life and people and colourful fruits and cloths beautifully written. Or the scenes in the shrine with the little love seat and the flowers a small spot of paradise wonderfully written.
The switch of perspectives worked well to display both sides of events and was easy to follow with names in the sections. Fast paced action and high stakes made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

The story Rebel Jewel (The Jewel Chronicles Book 3) by Natalina Reis is a fantasy/romance book. It is a story that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until I was finished with the final page. I loved reading about Milenda and Jaali. Milenda is a strong, intelligent, independent, and beautiful woman. She has been called back in order to ignite a revolution. What will the price of that revolution be? Jaali is content living with his wife Milenda and his daughter. He soon finds himself part of the plans for a revolution. Will the revolution succeed? What does the future hold for Milenda and Jaali? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time was I reading it. I have grown to love Milenda and Jaali in this series with each book and chapter that I read. They are two characters that love each other very much and have a strong belief system in which they never waver. Romance and danger are part of this story and you will find yourself unable to put it down until the end. This is the third and final book in The Jewel Chronicles and I would highly suggest reading the stories in order.

A great read about friendship. Kyle and Livie have been best friends since they were little kids. But when Kyle wants to marry her lifelong enemy, Mia, their friendship is put to the test. When it becomes too much, Livie pushes him away and goes to run a bookstore in Scotland. By the time Kyle realises his mistake, it may be too late. Can he fix his mistake and get his friendship back?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Livie following her dream despite her feelings or Kyle as a good friend but also struggling to find happiness. Great cast of supporting characters like the fun friend Jenny or the supportive and honest Liam. A great villain in Mia as relatable and cruel.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the wedding full of life and people with the music and the lilacs full of sound and smells. Or the bookstores sense of a small haven with the homely feel with shelves of books and coffee bar with its soft and colourful furnishings perfectly written. Or the magical sense of the fairy lights by the lake under the moon, making it feel like of another world away from the reality of the situation. I also loved the nature of Scotland with its language and culture and food and people given the respect it deserves and also giving the novel a sense of character and humour. The switch between perspectives worked well to display both sides of events and was easy to follow with names in chapter titles. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Fictional-ish: A Friends to Lovers Romance is the first book I have read by Natalina Reis. It was a cute romantic comedy that I enjoyed. The story line was pretty predictable, but still had cute parts to stand apart from the rest. Two best friends, that finally realize they are in love. Well, Livie always knew, Kyle just took a decade or two to realize it. I always hate the parts of stories where someone gets emotional and jumps to conclusions, just to realize they blew things out of proportion. So aside from that scene, I liked the book. It has a lot of funny parts, and good supporting characters. The chemistry between Livie and Kyle, and their friends was great. The unique details to this story make it stand out from other stories of similar plot. But for the most part, we know how the story is going to end. I will read more by the author.

This is the first book I have read from this author and I enjoyed every minute of it. I love a good friends to lovers but this talented author exceeded all my expectations. I was hooked on this storyline from page one. I could not help but to fall in love with these characters. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible book.

Livie Dunn has been in love with her best friend since grade school. Kyle and her were inseparable until he met her. Mia and Livie hate each other. They are well known enemies. Livie always thought that one day Kyle would see the feelings she had for him but when Kyle tells her that he is marrying Mia she knew it would never be the same. Livie decides she needs a new start so she leaves and follows her dreams as a bookstore owner. She is now living her dream in a small town. Livie has a new life but when Kyle shows back up in her life things start to get very complicated. Will Livie get her happily ever after or will she continue just being only a friend?

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, heartbreak, and forgiveness. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Livie is a beautiful woman that loves her books. She has always loved Kyle and all she wants is for him to be happy. Kyle is very handsome with a heart of gold. All he wants is to find the right woman for him. This talented author will keep you at the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to see what she will write about next.

Fictional-ish: A Friends to Lovers Romance by Natalina Reis is a friends to lovers romance and I am still not sure how i feel about it. I enjoyed it, but it is not one of my favourites from Natalina. It was and easy read but I really wanted to smack some sense into both Livie and Kyle the main characters and I really didn’t warm to them easily.

Livie’s best enemy has treated her like hell all their lives and always wanted what Livie had. The one thing that meant the most to Livie is the one thing that her best enemy took with no care for her actions nor others feelings. Livie’s heart is broken when her best friend picks another over her and takes a job out of the country hoping to heal.

Kyle is getting married to his best friends enemy and has lost his best friend and the one person who really loves him but being a typical man he thinks with his other head. When things get bad he takes a chance to reach out to the one person who had always stood by him.

It is an interesting read had had some funny moment and a few sad ones but once I was able to put aside my thoughts on the main characters it wasn’t to bad. I am waiting to see what comes next for Natalina.

Fictional-ish: A Friends to Lovers Romance by Natalina Reis is a sweet story. Livie and Kyle have been the best of friends since primary school but Kyle’s marriage has created a problem. Livie has had an enemy in Mia since they were young and now Kyle has married her. Livie is offered the chance to not only move but also open a new bookstore and jumps at the opportunity. Will Kyle figure out Livie loves him and as more than a friend?
This is a sweet romantic story. The characters are relatable and I like the story is told from both point of views. I also enjoyed the Scottish setting. This was a fun story to read and I’m glad I picked it up.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a lovely story of romance, betrayal and realising love was in the one place you didnt think to look.

Livie and Kyle have been friends since school, although they both felt love for each other but never acted upon it.

Fast forward and Kyle is set to marry Livie’s worst enemy, a decision which leaves her heartbroken and devestated, so when the opportunity comes up to move to Scotland and run her own bookstore she jumps at the chance.
Realising that he has messed up Kyle jumps on a plane to make things right and confess his love but with his ex wife still clinging on to him its not going to be a smooth journey.

Its a book full of romance and proves that if love is meant to be it will find a way
