Very educational book. I loved the poems. The activities are very insightful. Kids and adults should both read this book. Very good way to introduce kids to learning about disabilities. Questions and Answers at the end were helpful too.

This book is a romantic and suspenseful story that has been been written. I thought the story was well developed and had some interesting characters. It was an easy story to get into and the author has done a great job of adding in enough twists and turns to keep you on your toes.
This is the second book in the series however reading it our of order does not detract from the enjoyment. I thought the whole book was really well developed and the author knew exactly how to engage the reader. This is a great story and I am looking forward to reading more.

This is one of the best children’s books that I’ve read. The artwork is awesome. The story is one that every child (and adult) can relate to. It teaches that it’s the little things that matter the most. It also helps teach self-worth, and that everyone is special. I recommend this book to absolutely everyone for a fun, heartwarming read.

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As with the other books in this series this one is a real page turner. The time has come to finally take down the Bastard that started it all. In this dark world they are sick of the games of cat and mouse, where suspense and danger are the name of the game. Where secrets and lies have ruined it all but now is the time for it to end. It is time to find and take out the cold hearted monster who has caused so much pain and suffering and rain down ruin and cause havoc. I was on the edge of my seat and kept turning the pages forgoing sleep as I had to know what was coming but with all the twists and turns you don’t see what’s coming. The author paints a complex and multi layered story that is full of intrigue and action, lies and danger, hate and suspense, and so much more.
What would you do to keep all those you love safe?

This is a mystery thriller and the author is unknown to me but now I can’t wait to get my hands on more of her work. The author has cleverly woven the mystery into the tale that is compelling and engrossing. It wasn’t until after about half way through that I realised this was the second book in the series but I was enthralled with the story and read it in one sitting as I just couldn’t put it down. I tried but the story won out over sleep. Now I am anticipating reading the first book and making my back through book two. The characters are complex and full of flaws and all and you will fall in love with them.
Xavier is once again undercover. He has a knack for sniffing out the troubled or bad cops and she may just be one of them, as much as he is torn.
Lexi is feeling the weight of being a live wire, an unknown and the wrath of her department to her husband’s death. When her new partner comes to town there is something about him that may be her undoing in more ways than one.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a gripping story murder mystery with romance running through it. The characters were really well written. I loved Lexi’s character because she is strong and determined and she has overcome a lot to get where she is now. She give herself 100% to her job and bringing criminals to justice.
After losing her husband Lexi has thrown herself into her job however this isn’t always a smart idea.I love her character because she is strong and independent and is determined to get her killer.

Xavier has been brought in undercover to work as Lexi’s new partner. His job isn’t to help her solve the recent murder but on monitoring Lexi’s ability to do her job.

When a young boy is found murdered Lexi and Xavier now have to work together to get this child killer caught. But with all the secrets they both hold this case put their lives and jobs at risk. When romance is added to the mix things get more complicated and more dangerous. How will things go when the secrets are revealed? Can the focus on catching the killer before its too late?

Okay y’all. Here it is. The END OF THE LINE for The Dark Sparrow Series. And hot damn what a series it was. And it ended with my favorite silver fox of them all- the yummy delicious Oz. 🤤 This author poured some heart soul sweat and tears into this book because I felt all the feels (as per usual with this author) and it was great. I’m just so glad we finally (not that i was in a rush because I’m sad it’s over 🥺) got his book! I’ve really enjoyed learning about his character throughout the series and Inwas almost worried his book would be too hyped up in my head- but it was fantastic. What a great one! And I canNOT finish this review without mentioning Sasha- I really enjoyed her character throughout the series and I’m glad to see her story be told too! She’s so sarcastic and funny- as so many of the Sparrows are. I loved this series and I’m sad to see it coming to an end- although the journey was pretty amazing. Check these out y’all! 💖

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fraught with danger and uncertainty, Lazarus and Sasha’s journey was not for the faint hearted. It was gripping, intense and fast paced. The chemistry between the two was palpable and it was a race against time to find their way through to their HEA. The story was well constructed and meticulously detailed. It was written with fierce determination and the love story to end all love stories was the target. Perfectly executed and a fantastic, well rounded tale that elevated the heart rate and stole my breath. Where nothing turns out quite as expected and tension lurks at every corner, the end game was to make it out alive and protect above all else. Throw in obligation, loyalty and monster slaying, you have yourself one cracker of a story. Never boring, never lacking. Always giving. 5 stars.

This book brought tears to my eyes. Our kids grow up so fast nowadays, it seems like they only believe in Santa for a few short years. I love how the book gives the child a way to choose if they want to believe of not. The illustrations were very nice and complimented the story very well. My 6 year old has been questioning whether Santa is real or not, I can’t wait to read this book to her.

This book we are introduced to Annie. A strega or “witch” in Italian. She is aiming to become a doctor and with her loving fiancée by her side…only she isn’t sure that this doctor thing is her passion, and her fiancée turns out to not be that great as well.
Annie soon embarks on a journey to find her calling and her true self. It becomes a eye opening journey that is taken with Annie and the gifts she finds and the strength she gains speak to who she is as well as the connection to women generations before her.

This book was such a great read! Witches and powerful women all entwined in one. The way the story provided past and present combined with a vast family history made it all the more fascinating. This is a first read for me by this author but the way she tells stories I can guarantee its not the last.

I thought this was a really cute book. I read it to my 6-year-old. Having had remote learning last year, one of the lessons the teachers taught a lot was about trying and trying again. I felt this went along with that lesson very well. It also opened up a great discussion about what she is great at, her teachers have told her how kind she is and what a big heart she has. Great book to read and open discussion with your kids.

I loved reading this book. It is a fast paced, engaging story that has characters that not only bring the story to life but are also unique and creative. This is the sixth book in this series which I highly suggest reading all of the previous books to help your enhancement of this series and this author’s writings. This is a romance-suspense story that I read in one sitting as it is that great. The characters are not only steamy but have great chemistry and growth throughout the story. I had no problems connecting with them and they made the story entertaining to read. This is truly a great book and a must read. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is a suspenseful mystery that I enjoyed. It is a fast paced story that is full of action. A story where Detective Lexi works in a department that is totally working against her. But she is determined to bring a child killer to justice. This is a story full of secrets not only for the killer but also for Lexi and Xavier who could lose their jobs or even their life for this case. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the characters who are relatable. I enjoyed Lexi’s character the most as she is a determined female who goes after what she wants. She made the story fun and entertaining for me. This is an engaging story that was hard to put down. The twists and turns had me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. I really enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it.

I loved this author’s writing, they made the story flow so easily, it was so easy to get hooked and lost in the story and the characters, there was so much to knot, and a want to know so very much more! I loved the character growth I saw, the sorry was interesting and yet addictive at the same time!

I think the thing I loved most as well as truly enjoyed about this novel, is the emotions that went along with this book. With Lazarus and his love, you did not just hear the words he spoke of how he felt about her, you literally lived it. It was a mind sweeping romance of love and passion, that was more than real, and was something so easily to visualize! I loved the emotions the author made the reader feel!

The suspense the novel gave me regarding Lazarus and his life style was so intriguing, honestly I have to say it was off the wall amazing. From passion and romance to danger and action, it was the perfect bundle of what I wanted. This book was very enjoyable and freaking amazing! It kept me hooked on every word and every turn, it was a great, fun and fast pace read, loved every minute of this ride.

I loved this book truly, and this is one if your into the romantic suspense reads as I am you for sure will devour this book as I did. This author is truly gifted and knew what they were doing as they built the story and plot! Amazing read! Defiantly a high recommendation, this one is very much worth a read!

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 2) by Amy Argent – Review by: Jennifer Bartholomae

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow #2)Whatever Tomorrow Brings by Amy Argent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is the continuation of Will and Tori’s story. This book continues the emotional rollercoaster ride that was started in book one. Will and Tori start out on the journey we all hoped would come to fruition after the first book, trying to build a life together post-cancer. The story carries the same depth and emotional wisdom that the first did and still draws together a truly compelling story that keeps you turning the pages to the very end.

I feel like some parts of the book lacked some grounding in reality, which I understand given that this is a fairytale scenario romance life. The author had shown such depth with her writing in the first book that I thought maybe she wouldn’t fade as far down the fairytale path as she did in this one. Let’s face it, no matter how much you love someone and what kind of situation you are in, you aren’t going to go from sick in the hospital to living together full-time without some bumps along the road. I would have appreciated seeing more conflict between Tori and Will as they settled in together, rather than the automatic perfection that the book drew.

Also, the sex scenes. I’m not a prude and I hate to harp on this because I know it is to be expected in a romance novel, I just felt it overtook the story at some points. We get it, they love each other and are happy to be together, but I felt like every two or three pages we were back in bed with them, or in the shower, or on the floor…the storyline was built well enough that readers could have gotten the message and been engaged until the very end without spending hours discussing all of their passion. Overall, I still liked the book and would be interested in reading more of the author’s work, this one, while just as well written and emotional, didn’t grab me the same way the first one did.

This was such a bittersweet read for me. Having read all the previous instalments, I connected with this band of brothers and looked forward to following each one as they got their own book. So, knowing this was the last book in the series was a little sad- I was sooo not ready to say goodbye…. But at the same time, I desperately wanted to know how things would finally play out, but more importantly, getting a front row seat to the ‘Oz’ show- and what a fantastic show it was!! Ms. Kells definitely had me completely engrossed in the story- I devoured the book in a couple of hours, just so I could find out what happens.
King Bastard is the sixth and final book in the Dark Sparrow series by India Kells. It is an addictive romantic suspense- full of action, adventure, tension, danger, chemistry, intrigue, gripping developments, emotion, drama, complex characters, sizzling encounters, romance, family dynamics, agendas, and so much more. As expected, the story is superbly written, with a complex and multi-layered storyline that was so much more than I anticipated. What a way to wrap up the series! I loved every intense minute!!
I highly recommend this book- but if you have yet to read the rest of the series, I really recommend that you do as each book helps to build a bigger picture- trust me- you will find that one story is not enough! Prepare to develop an India Kells addiction!
Even though this instalment wraps up this series and I am sad to say goodbye, I know Ms. Kells will have something amazing in the works that will be just as enjoyable and addictive as this series has been. She never fails to deliver the goods! So excited to see what she does next!
Happy reading!

Thank you, India Kells!

Dating the It GuyDating the It Guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager

A cute story about growing up and the difficulties that come with it. Right from the start, the book had my smiling. It started out so fun and quirky and I was immediately hooked! Once the story progresses, it actually hit on several really serious topics and even pulled a tear or two from me! I went from giggling along with the quirkiness of the main characters, to suffering, to frustration, and back again. Some parts were so captivating, and other parts were a bit slower to get through. I loved the ending and how everything was wrapped up. My only complaint is that I would have liked to experience more of the ending, maybe a few more interactions with the characters at the end and some idea on where they were headed. It felt like the ending was the start of the new beginning I had been hoping for the two characters! Perhaps there will be another book… I guess I can dream!

Practically Pagan- An Alternative Guide to Magical Living offers an opportunity to explore real world magic in a wonderfully written self-care manor that is accessible to anyone wishing to use magic in their life. As someone who is interested in magic, but not sure where to start, I found this guide to be a helpful start. It’s a reminder that we all need to break down the societal rules we take on everyday and unlearn the trauma that we have experienced, to find the spark within us. Although there were some spots of repetition, I found it useful and a great reminder as I worked my way through the guide. Easy steps for each portion of the guide helped to make learning everyday magic do-able and less daunting, especially as a newbie. I truly enjoyed this book and am always excited for new releases from the author, so I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in the joy of everyday magic.

I have had the pleasure of reading several books in this series and I cannot get enough.   I absolutely loved everything about this book.  Zeke and the twins provided more laughs than the Vegas guys alone would have and if you have read any of the previous Satan’s Devils books you know these bikers are funny on their own and like giant children.

I loved getting to know Red from his humble beginning (Book 1) to where he is now as President of the Vegas Chapter of the Satan’s Devils. I was also able to connect dots in other storylines in the series and I love meeting new members and possible love interests.

I love this author and series so much and hopeful that with all of the babies this first generation has that we will never have to say bye to the Satan’s Devils.

It is just cool to watch how he grows to makes those he is president over understand. This book is fabulous with all of its details and dynamics.

Our paths have entangled again, he broke my heart but can he forgive the secrets I have been holding deep in my past for so long.

There she is again, the feelings are still there but will she be able to understand my lifestyle and accept who I am today.

This story picks up straight after the first book and answer so many questions that was raised in the first instalment and you really now see these characters as they have grown up over the years. I love how these characters compliment each other and show there vulnerabilities with an openness and you are just willing them to get together.

The whole story was well written and drawn you back into the story from the first words read, I also have a infinite for the secondary characters which added another dimension to this wonderful book. I have to say that the author addresses some topics within the story with dignity and inclusivity which is breath taking to read. I would not recommend reading this book within out reading the first one, although the story flows you do really need the background to these people to full enjoy the book.

I can’t wait to read the next book from this wonderful author and may the books keep coming.
