Falling For His BadassFalling For His Badass by Jessika Klide
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Falling For His Badass by Jessika Klide was a steamy romantic quick read! I would give this book a five out of five stars. Lizzy was a cute character to get to know. I could relate to some of her concerns and it was nice to see her overcome. Brody is a considerate alpha male, which was a nice surprise. I enjoyed the plot and the pace was well thought out.

From The Ashes (Ashes to Ashes, #3)From The Ashes by Rowena Holloway
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

From The Ashes was a thrilling 5 star read and the third and final book in the Ashes to Ashes series. I was excited to get this final book.

You get pulled in right from the beginning. Charlotte is a journalist who is looking for the truth behind some recent deaths. She is trying to put the pieces together to help solve the mystery. The closer she gets to figuring out things the more dangerous it gets.

There is so much more to this great read. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. There are several twists and turns. Rowena Holloway does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing, I can’t wait to read more from her. Diamonds & Deception (Karina Cardinal Mystery, #3)Diamonds & Deception by Ellen Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I do love strong female leads, and a good mystery is always a winner with me. In Diamonds & Deception by Ellen Butler we get both. This is an excellent little mystery. It is my first Karina Cardinal Mystery Story, but I can tell you it won’t be my last. Although Karina is the star of our show her sister Jillian is every bit in the thick of this as Karina. The dialogue and the interaction between the sisters in this book is spot on., and even better than all of that is the “story within the story”. I always love that. This sweet little mystery is well worth your time.

Stalking the StalkerStalking the Stalker by Laura Hawks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This little mystery is an easy quick to read story. But don’t be fooled, it packs a powerful punch. It’s an intriguing little story with many suspects, turns, twists and surprises. Thought I had it figured then changed my mind, then changed my mind again. Romance but not the steamy kind, just very sweet and touching. But the best thing for me is the deeper story that Laura Hawks is giving us in Stalking the Stalker. Pick this one up, I think you will like it.

I really loved this book. I love second chance romance stories and no one deserved this more than Duke and Patience.
I felt for both characters, young and taking different paths but not communicating with each other on anything deeper than teenage problems. We then jump up to present day and my goodness the pain Patience went through was unimaginable.
This series is now on my watch list. Must read!

Deliciously Sinful Liaisons by L.M. Mountford is a collection of hot and steamy short stories. Each story is based on a different encounter and each one is a intense as the last.
This author has created a great collection of stories that will help you just to get lost for a short time. These books could easily be read all in one go (I may or may not have done this) or read, one at a time over a period.
If you are looking for a bit of fun chemistry then you should definitely give these books a try.

Deadly Alliance (An Alliance Agency Novel – The Prequel) by Maddie Wade & India Kells was action packed and exciting. I was easily hooked at the start of this novel and could not put it down. The story line was easy to follow and fun to disappear in. It had great build up to a fun climax. I loved also the characters of this novel. They were easy to visualize and realistic. I loved the witty banter and humor of some of them. I have read other books by these two authors and I love what they have created together. This novel was an enjoyable read and I highly recommend it. I look forward to more from these authors.

Hope (Feisty Lawyers Series Book 4) by Seelie Kay – Review by Angela Hayes

HopeHope by Seelie Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hope is the superb fourth instalment in the Feisty Lawyers Series by Seelie Kay.
This is a shorter story, which makes for a very quick and easy read. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the other books before starting on this one as there are some interconnected elements and characters. I didn’t expect to like this book as much as I have- and I certainly didn’t expect for it to become my favourite of the series, so far. I loved the first three books, but this one blew me away, and is definitely my favourite, so far!
We have met Hope previously, and it was really wonderful to catch up with what has been going on in her life- and then follow her through the story. There were moments where my heart was in my mouth, and I really felt for her so much. Seelie Kay certainly put her through the wringer- and I was rooting for Hope to overcome it all… and win out in the end. The character growth and development was just superb.
The story is so intriguing- with action, adventure, emotion, suspense, danger, drama, and Hope. The book had me on the edge of my seat in suspense at times, and had me avidly reading along to discover just how everything would play out.
This is quite a clever, complex, and well developed storyline- there’s a lot going on in it, in a great way. And in true Seelie Kay fashion, it packs quite a punch!
I say this with each addition to the series, but this series would make a fantastic Television show.
This book makes me even more intrigued about what Seelie Kay has planned for the rest of the series- and where we go from here. I can’t wait to see what awaits us in future instalments!

Thank you, Ms. Kay!

Deadly Alliance (An Alliance Agency Novel – The Prequel) by Maddie Wade & India Kells – Review by Karyn Taylor

Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover NovelDeadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel by Maddie Wade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Deadly Alliance is a crossover novel between India Kells Purgatory series and Maddie Wade’s Fortis series. It is a prequel novel bringing together these 2 amazing group to form a new alliance. I am a huge fan of both India Kells’ Purgatory series and Maddie Wade’s Fortis series, so when I discovered that they were working together to create a crossover, to say I was excited, is a bit of an understatement. There is no way that anything they would work on together would be anything less than amazing and I was so right. I loved this book so much and can’t wait to read more of this series.
In this book, the 2 teams have got together to find a serial killer who has been killing female members of the military in both the US and UK. One of those killed was the sister of former Navy SEAL Shane Rhodes’ best friend. Now working for Purgatory, Shane is determined to catch the killer. The plan is to work undercover with Emme Wallace, a Fortis agent, pretending to be a married couple to bring the killer out. Needless to say Shane and Emme didn’t see eye to eye on anything, which only got worse as both started to fight growing feelings towards each other.
This book is very fast paced, has fantastic characters and an amazing storyline that grabs you straight away and takes you on a roller coaster journey filled with mystery, suspense, danger and heart break. I was pulled right into the story and couldn’t put it down, devouring the whole book in one sitting. If this prequel is anything to go by then this is going to be an epic series which I will read over and over.

Hope (Feisty Lawyers Series Book 4) by Seelie Kay

5 Stars

I love this series so so much, and since they are all quick short reads I can’t wait to go back and read them all back to back.

This author’s stories just flow so smooth and are always full of content without the wordy fluff thrown in. I can always expect action and edge of my seat reading and I love that.

Hope was simply awesome. She was tough as nails in a small package and was living her dream of being part of the agency, a group of lawyers that were all about setting things right in the world even if it meant making it happen when the law couldn’t. Hope was a genuine Bada** and seemed to beat any challenge sent her way, until her past creeps up on her and her first real assignment doesn’t go as planned.

I love how all the characters weave in and out of these stories and this one left me more than curious about what is to come.

Loved it, I would recommend reading them all in order just to get the full benefit of all of who you are reading about.

Hope (Feisty Lawyers Series Book 4) by Seelie Kay – Review by Naomi McDonald

HopeHope by Seelie Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hope is the fourth book in the Feisty Lawyers series. There are characters and situations from the previous books mentioned in this story, so it would be a good idea to read the other books first.

Out of all of the books I’ve read in this series, this one is my favorite in regard to writing style. It flowed nicely and it kept a consistent pace for the most part. The first part of the book focuses more on Hope’s development as an agent, whereas the latter part of the book focuses on her in the field. I think the one part that I didn’t care for so much was the catty way the women came across in the Epilogue. The way the story is left it seems like the series might be taking on a new dimension. It will be interesting to see how it develops.

Hope by Seelie Kay a five-star read that will drag you into the drama. This is number four in the Feisty Lawyer series and I would recommend you read them in order as they all build a great story and add to the overall suspense of the world. Hope Ali has a story that will suck you in and not let you go until the last page so be warned don’t start this unless you have time to finish it. Hope (Feisty Lawyers Series Book 4) by Seelie Kay. I have loved this series. I suggest you read them from Book 1 just to get a basis for the stories. I love Seelie Kay so when I see her name I usually can’t wait to read it. This book was no exception. Once you start this book you won’t want to put it down. Its the story of Hope Ali who with her father came to the US seeking Asylum. They settled down in a small Wisconsin town hiding from those after them. She excelled in school and finished Law school by the time she was 21. After college she joined the Agency which is an elite group of attorneys who go undercover to right wrongs the law won’t take care of. Its a dangerous job but its Ali’s dream job. The only problem with this dream job is someone wants her to lose hope and they will stop at nothing to succeed. This book will keep you in the edge of your seat.

Chicken Scratch (The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series Book 1) by Becki Willis – Review by Jana Teppih

Chicken Scratch (The Sisters, Texas #1)Chicken Scratch by Becki Willis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Chicken Scratch is the first book in Becki Willis’ mystery suspense series The Sisters, Texas! The writer makes you sit up straight and take notice from Chapter One when the heroine of the story finds a body in a chicken house! Just try NOT to picture and smell it in your head! It was my first read by the writer and I can promise you that you will want to go back to The Sisters again and again after finishing this mystery story about a dead chicken farmer!
The story takes place in Texas so the writer could have given us loads of stereotypes but instead she gives us a bunch of delightful characters that you will want to go back to and spend more time with! Madison, her spunky grandmother Bert, best friend Genesis, her former crush aka chief of police Brash, her two kids and let’s not forget about the fireman Cutter! I can just imagine what the writer might come up with; she has given herself a bottomless cast of characters and we’d be lucky to read any of their story!

That first kiss??? The way she described what she was feeling to what he was doing? Wowzer! That. Is. Awesome. I really enjoyed this book. He is the ultimate BadA**. He is a SEAL, strong, sexy and protective….also a bit possessive! This is my type of guy! Lizzy is a fun gal. She seems to be strong and is confident. Who else can walk into a bar/dance area alone and not be confident in their self.

I wasn’t a fan of the quick ending. I wish there was a bit more closure. Overall I liked the story. It has a nice flow to it and It was fun and sexy. Plus there is Brody ?

From The Ashes (Ashes to Ashes, #3)From The Ashes by Rowena Holloway
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

From The Ashes – a gripping psychological thriller (Ashes to Ashes Book 3) by Rowena Holloway is an enthralling and engrossing read. I enjoyed the other two books in this series but I really loved this one. Just when you thought you had it all worked out, BAM Rowena sent us careening down a different route. This cleverly woven tale lives up to it being a gripping psychological thriller in every way.

Charlotte has lost it all and has decided to take a job that is so far out of her range of skills but is also rewarding. But it is also fraught with lies and secrets, love and loss, danger and murder. It is a veritable of whodunit. Ever the journalist inside, she sets about and uncovers secrets of Blaxon Hall.

This is a quick but good read and before you know it, it has ended but not before you try to puzzle out the thrills and spills. This is a must read. I look forward as always to more from Rowena.

A Cowboy Under the Mistletoe Anthology by Susan Fisher Davis, Leslie Garcia, Melissa Keir, Debbie Desmarteau, Stephanie Berget, D’Ann Lindun – Review by Jenni Bishop

A Cowboy Under the MistletoeA Cowboy Under the Mistletoe by Susan Fisher Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Cowboy Under the Mistletoe Anthology by is a collection of Christmas Cowboy stories by 6 great and talented authors: Susan Fisher Davis, Leslie P. Garcia, Melissa Keir, Debbie Desmarteau, Stephanie Berget and D’Ann Lindun.

A Cowboy for Christmas is a sad yet heart-warming tale where Reid returns home after being away for a few years and finds himself face to face with the one person who woman who hates him and blamed him for the death of his best friend. What he finds is that opposite of what he was expecting and something that will change all their lives. It is beautifully written and will make you believe in love.

The Cowboy’s Christmas Hand is a lovely romance with a little suspense where we see a Ty returning to her childhood home, but everything has changed. The hardest thing she has ever done is come face to face with the man she once loved, a man that broke her heart. Church Trenton never knew why the love of his life walked away from everything they were to each other. Now that she has returned will he ever learn the truth that is if they can keep everything, they love safe?

Tempting the Cowboy is a story of addiction and pain and how you are only ever one step away from stepping back in to the life of an alcoholic but also one step away from stepping out when you receive a little flirtation. Both Johnson and his wife Debra know what it is to be an alcoholic, but Johnson has just lost his friend and sponsor which sends him in to self-doubt.

A Different Kind of Gift is a heart wrenching but beautiful story where Destiny has come to town to take over her grandmother’s shop as she is very sick. When a stranger enters the shop one day little does she know that he may make all her dreams come true. That is until Nickolas’s ex comes back to town, with a surprise hell bent on reclaiming what she sees as hers, with a surprise in tow.

Saving a Cowboy’s Christmas is a story that will cause a little heartache and where Drew’s life has been turned on its head by the woman he has loved forever, but is now really showing her claws. He is home trying to mend his broken heart when he comes across an old friend, who needs his help but it too proud to ask. Gina doesn’t need a man and certainly not the man who has decided to step in to her life.

Noah’s Christmas Faith is the story of Faith who avoids relationships like the plague. She does not want to get hurt so avoiding them is the best way. However, that doesn’t seem to work out so well when Noah seems to be working his way into her heart. Now all he has to do is prove he is trustworthy.

I love Christmas stories, and a box of six stories containing Christmas cheer and sexy Cowboys is right up my alley.

Evergreen by Mya O’Malley – Review by Maura Harper

EvergreenEvergreen by Mya O’Malley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sweet and Quick

They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but I think this book is the exception. The story is exactly as the cover conveys. It is a sweet story about a dog and her purpose. Oh sure, that’s not how the book is actually written but I just know that this is Maxine’s story. Fine, Fine, Fine… June and Graham have a meet cute and blah blah blah. Can we talk about the dog now?? Great Danes truly are magical and Maxine is one of dreams. Oh, so June and Graham … Hahaha I’m joking

I really enjoyed this quick read. It is a sweet romance about not judging a book by its cover. In this case, though, it is a person named June. June is much more than her dowdy look would lead on. She is strong and brave and beautiful.

The story is sort of a modern day fairy tale and I absolutely recommend it. It is a good read for young and old alike.

Lost in Carmel by Terri Lee – Review by Jenni Bishop

Lost in CarmelLost in Carmel by Terri Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lost in Carmel by Terri Lee is a raw and realist look into the life of a Hollywood star. It is engaging and brings to the surface many demons that I have fought in my own life. There are certainly a few tears to be shed as the story was very powerful for me. The life of a Hollywood film star looks glamourous from the outside but that is after we have seen the polished version in the magazines or films. Have you ever wondered what lurks beneath the surface of that smile, what their life is really truly like? Well Terri gives a look at what that is like and does not sugar coat it, all the dirty laundry is out there for all to see. I love the main characters and especially the best friend, he cracked me up each and every time. It is also a very passionate read that grabs you in the heart.
Natalie Hampton a Hollywood it girl and America’s Darling, has been in the business since she was a young girl. She has seen it all, she has done it all and the world is her oyster. That is until it’s not. That is until it takes her to a dark, dark place. That place in the world where you wonder just who exactly you are. A place where you look at yourself in the mirror and go “who are you?” A place in the world where you have fallen in the dark hole and cannot see a way out. It is also a place that you start from to find the real you that has been so long forgotten. A place where you can learn to re-love yourself, to find your self-worth. A place from where you can find real love.

Rome is a beautiful and relaxing metropolis and I could picture vividly the words and world that Terri created for this wonderful story that left me captivated and reminiscing.

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Price by C. L. Schneider – Review by Angela Hayes

Magic-Price (The Crown of Stones, #1)Magic-Price by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Magic Price is the first book in The Crown of Stone Series by C.L Schneider. It is a really well thought out and intricately woven, action-packed high fantasy- with sword fighting, magic, adventure, intensity, drama, originality, brilliant world building, surprising developments, intrigue, suspense, and so much more. I loved Ms. Schneider’s Nite Fire Series, and I am a sucker for epic fantasy, so it was a no brainer when I discovered this series- grabbing a copy and immediately diving in. The story is darker than I had initially expected, with a raw grittiness that really gave this story an extra element of interest. It is also a very imaginative and original take on epic fantasy- especially with the lore of magic being so unique to this book/series.
Ms. Schneider brilliant world building skills are really highlighted here- as the world is ‘alive’ and entirely realistic and believable- so richly painted with attention to detail to all the different races, histories, and culture/s.
Ian Troy is a bounty hunter living a life of self-imposed exile. Living with the ghosts of the past which haunt his days and invade his nights. He single-handedly ended a war- but has been paying the price ever since. But when the past returns with a new threat against him, the land, and his people- Ian has no choice but to wield magic again. There is much at stake- but what will the price be this time?

Hope (Feisty Lawyers Series Book 4) by Seelie Kay – Review by Dawn Daughenbaugh

Hope (Feisty Lawyers Book 4)Hope by Seelie Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Star
Hope (Feisty Lawyers Series Book 4) by Seelie Kay is a wonderfully written story that is packed with action and suspense. I was drawn in from the beginning and couldn’t put it down till I finished. The characters are very well developed and easily relatable. Hope joins the “Agency “ which is her dream job, they are an elite group of lawyers who go undercover to pretty much right the wrongs . What happens when Hope is left for dead? Will she loose Hope? Will her past come back to her? Find out what happens next in this must read. I highly recommend not just this book but the whole series. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.
