Hang On To Your Shirt Tails (Chasing Tails Book 2)Hang On To Your Shirt Tails by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was just a real good feel good story. In Hang on To Your Shirt Tails, C.A. King gives us a family story. Brodie and Tails are just trying to raise a family. And what teenager doesn’t think they know everything. There are so many things going on in this story you just must keep turning the page. From rebellious teenager, a son that is having massive changes going on in his life, and a desperate desire to start new life, this story mixes it all up and then stirs it with the stick of shadows of the past. Shadows without mercy or compassion. Quite a bit of suspense and several surprises. A laid back tale to enjoy.

This is a Young Adult Science Fiction Fantasy story that I enjoyed from the very beginning. It has a little bit of everything from drama to mystery. I was so engaged throughout the story that I read it in one sitting. The characters made the story feel realistic. Tati sends her DNA in for testing but the results are something that she never would expect. Who knew the results of one test would start such a chain of events. I highly recommend finding out what happens next.

“Just because there are no walls doesn’t mean it isn’t jail.”

CA King is a one click author for me based on name alone.

HANG ON TO YOUR SHIRT TAILS is Book 2 in the “Chasing Tails” series. Book 1 lays the groundwork and I think it is important to read this series in order.

This story is about racism, a caste system, “genocide”, family of choice, acceptance, love and solution based problem solving. This has fantastic action, surprises and was a great read.

“I didn’t get to where I am by trusting people.” I totally trust this author to take me on a journey in every book.

This is a quick read that I absolutely recommend.

B.A. happens to see Lizzy as she is leaving and he is immediately drawn to her. He makes arrangements with a friend to stay at the same hotel and attend the same dinner show. He needs to get close to her.

Can they have more than a weekend fling? What will happen when Lizzy finds out who B.A. really is?

There is so much more to this hot and steamy read. You can read this in one sitting because you will want to see how things turn out. I really liked these two and I feel like there is so much more to their story, I want more. (fingers crossed). 1-click and get started today.

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts #2)Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stars Fall from the Sky by K.G. Fletcher was heartwrenching and heartwarming all at the same time. I had tears in my eyes the whole time while reading this book.

Ginger McCormick had the perfect life husband and a baby girl till a tragedy struck from nowhere and her world collapsed. Can the new doctor Jonathon Waldon be what Ginger and Daisy need to right their world?

I loved K.G.’s Southern Promises series but she is being something more emotional to the Reigning Hearts series. I highly recommend you check out this author’s books because you never know what each book will bring you.

Hope
Feisty Lawyers
Book 4
By Seelie Kay
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
I recommend this book to all who love action and romance within the same book. Please read the first 3 books in this series. They flow so nicely together.

Hope Ali and her father came to the U.S. seeking asylum, at the young age of 16. She was determined to get an education as well as college done. By the age of 21 she had completed school and had joined the Agency. Training was tough, but she completed it. I found her to be so incredibly strong. Hope is amazingly smart and can hold her calm, when faced with danger. This all I will tell you. You need to read it to believe it.

Seelie Kay has done it again. This her 4th book in the series, was absolutely packed with action. Her book will suck you in on page one, and keep you there until you turn the last page. Her characters will have you dawned into her story. I like to read the series all at once. Seelie Kay has written one of those series you will want to read over and over again. Nicely done Seelie Kay. I look forward to seeing what you write next.

The story line, plot, and characters are very well developed. The paragraphs and sentence structures are full and flows from one to the next. The pace was neither hurried nor too slow. Pigs by Daniel James is a great thriller. He has created a great plot line for his characters. James also created complex-complicated characters. Draigon Weather (The Legacies of Arnan Book 1) by Paige L. Christie – Review by Erica Fish

Draigon Weather (The Legacies of Arnan, #1)Draigon Weather by Paige L. Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Draigon Weather is the first book in The Legacies of Arnan series by Paige L Christie. This story took my mind to a different plane. This story is about Leiel and Cleod. Leiel is a marked woman and according to the town she is a tainted woman. She will be marked when Draigon Weather returns. Cleod is a friend of Leiel. Cleod is in a higher class and was able to join the Ehlewer Enclave. Cleod and Leiel are from different paths of society. Cleod vowed to avenge Leiel’s mother but will he be able to keep is vow to Leiel and the Ehlewer Enclave? Leiel is seeking knowledge that could have killed her mother. Will Leiel share the same fate?

Paige Christie is a mastermind story teller. This story is a coming of age story which fits in with the YA genre. The plot is magical and keeps going in directions that threw around a bend I did not see coming. This story is also told in two different POVs. Christie does this effortlessly and was able to follow along with the characters and their stories. I highly recommend this story to anyone who loves fantasy stories. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Diamonds & Deception (Karina Cardinal Mystery Book 3) by Ellen Butler – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Diamonds & Deception (Karina Cardinal Mystery, #3)Diamonds & Deception by Ellen Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Diamonds and Deception by Ellen Butler is book three of the Karina Cardinal Mystery series. This book has a little bit of everything. It’s got danger, mystery, suspense and so much more. This book can be read as a standalone but for the full experience – recurring character introductions and backstories – I encourage you to read the first two books.

Karina is fiercely independent and recently her friend Mike has taken their relationship from friendship to relationship and they seem to have hit a rough patch. Karina is determined not to call Mike for help however she seems to attract trouble. When her sister calls her to help a friend, this time doesn’t seem to be any different. Karina and Jillian find themselves deep in a mystery that leaves them with a lot of questions. Will Karina call Mike for help when trouble inevitably strikes?

This book was enjoyable to read. It has a pretty quick pace and let you wondering what was gong to happen. I recommend it!

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts Book Two) by KG Fletcher – Review by Shannon Fowler

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts #2)Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A heartbreaking story from the start! All the elements of a great story: heartache, confusion, sadness, hope, joy, love and peace.

Ginger is a character that I could relate to. I felt her sadness at the turn of events her life took. Jonathan’s guilty feelings were justifiably on point as well. Grief has no timetable and affects everyone so differently. Fletcher hits on these points precisely.

While this is book two in the Reigning Hearts Series, it can be read as a standalone. References are made to the couple from the first book but not enough to distract from this storyline. I suggest reading this story with some tissues handy.

As always I am wondering who could be up next for Fletcher!

Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Hidden TracksHidden Tracks by Zoe Lee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee is a romance that focuses on the music industry. Seth is a talented songwriter and musician who has re-joined his old band after living a quiet life for half a decade. Astrid is a former actress who used to be married to a rock star and is now a music journalist, writing a piece on Seth’s band.
It’s a sweet, slow-moving story. Both characters have lived. They’ve fallen in love and had their hearts broken. Astrid has a grown-up daughter. They’ve been in the limelight and stepped out of it, and are now on the brink of being pulled back in.
Astrid’s role as a journalist is quite handy in learning about Seth and his bandmates. There are formal interviews, and other occasions where informal discussions include probing questions (or less probing – “Dogs or cats?” is one!).
I particularly like the way Lee talks about sound – both musical and environmental. This struck me from the very beginning where Seth’s acoustic environment is described – “every subtle groan of the three-story house he had grown up in was like a vibrato note sung by a baritone.”. This is effective not only in painting a vivid picture of the scene, but also in giving us an insight into how Seth experiences the world.
For me, this is a four-star book. I’d recommend it to music lovers, particularly anyone who’s ever dreamed of getting together with a rock star!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Matt’s Swirly World: Children’s Book by Madeleine Matthews. I really loved this book and wish I had it when my son was younger. Its the story of a mom who is trying to teach her son how to process his emotions in a positive way. It teaches us that an outing to the park leaves Matthew with happy feelings until its time to leave and then he has a meltdown. His mom tells him the story of a angry dragon and helps him realize a calm voice and telling a story can help soothe the child and stops his meltdown. This book is a great resource for parents because it helps them to learn what is behind tantrums and how to teach impulse control. Its tells us that talking in a calm voice can soothe a child and minimize meltdowns. It also teaches kids self control skills which in this crazy world is very important. This is a great children’s book that parents, grandparents and teachers can learn a lot from it! (less)

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts #2)Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Stars Fall From the Sky is the second book in the Reigning Hearts Series by K.G Fletcher. I have read all of Ms. Fletcher’s books and have loved every one- so I was really keen to get my hands on this one. When it arrived on my Kindle, I jumped right in- and didn’t put it down till I’d read every word.
This was such an emotional rollercoaster for me. I really recommend reading with a box of tissues close at hand- because you’re going to need plenty. The story is a very emotive second chances romance- with a friends to lovers element, too. It plucked at my heartstrings so often, that it became a melody in my heart. The story is everything from tragic, to sweet and romantic. There is love, loss, grief, feelings of betrayal, ghosts of the past, trouble moving on, stuck in the past, drama, healing, learning to love again, a ‘small town’ environment, chemistry, real life realism, touching & tender moments, cute little additions, wonderful characters, an engaging storyline- and most of all, it is a story with hope, and finding happiness after tragedy.
As I have come to expect from Ms. Fletcher, the story is really well written, and the characters are quite endearing and so easy to invest in. Book three, “A Sun So Bright” (Fiona’s story)looks set to be wonderful. I can’t wait! Bring on December!

Thank you, Ms. Fletcher!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Maddie Wade and India Kells have both hooked a new reader! This is my first experience with these authors and they definitely did not disappoint! When I first read the title, I honestly didn’t know this was part of two other series of books. I will now be reading those separate series! But Deadly Alliance can be read as a standalone. This story is written flawlessly. It combines two elite Special Forces agencies in Fortis and Purgatory and travels from the US to the UK on a joint mission to catch a serial killer. The characters are spectacular and immediately draw you in to their lives. The connection between Shane and Emme…..whew! Turn the air up because it’s getting a bit hot in here!

This story is filled to the brim with twists and turns that you won’t see coming! Definitely a 5 star read that will keep you turning the pages! I can’t wait to read more from these authors! I’m looking forward to learning more about these characters and their worlds.

Draigon Weather (The Legacies of Arnan, #1)Draigon Weather by Paige L. Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so happy that I chose to give this new book and new author a read! This book takes what you normally expect from a fantasy, dystopian type novel and throws it out the window, only to be replaced with an epic journey that is so unexpected. This book has a bit of everything in it for everyone so if you normally don’t pick up fantasy don’t let that deter you from this novel. I was fascinated with the theme of feminism and the way the author wrote this into the story was so well done that I can’t help but fawn over it. We find a set of people in Draigon Weather, that have slowly built a life amid a world they feel they don’t belong in. Leiel and Cleod will make you rethink everything you ever expected from a dragon fantasy novel. I can’t wait to find out what will happen in the next book!

Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee – Review by Liz Vrchota

Hidden TracksHidden Tracks by Zoe Lee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have to start with the beautiful and inviting cover to Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee. I was instantly invested in this story just from the cover and any book that can do that gets a shot with me regardless of the subject or author. I have read one other book by Zoe Lee however, so this wasn’t a new author to me and I so wanted to love this book hard. In an absolute honest way, this book was a struggle for me to get into. It was a bit difficult for me to follow the character development and I felt like it took a lot of time giving us a backstory to side characters that we almost forgot who was the shining stars to this book. I can see where this could eventually become a series and give more of the stories to said side characters. Maybe at that time it wouldn’t hurt to consider editing out some of the extra babble in this one to help with the flow of the novel.

Once I got to it Seth and Astrid slowly warmed my heart with the music of their relationship. I loved the soft push/pull and the way these two came off as realistic. I overall enjoyed the idea behind the book and the way things turned out. So I am giving this a four star rating with all that said in mind because of the strength that those two brought to the story. I will be looking into future works by Zoe Lee however and hope maybe we see more along the lines of Hidden Tracks with a little more of a polish to them.

Hope (Feisty Lawyers Series Book 4) by Seelie Kay – Review by Liz Vrchota

HopeHope by Seelie Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

One of my favorite things about the Feisty Lawyers series from Seelie Kay, is that these books pack a whole lot of drama, suspense, action, and romance into concise believable novels. Hope doesn’t stray from the norm of the series. I would highly recommend that you read all the books in order before grabbing this one, the fourth of the series. We get to meet Hope earlier in the series and it really was a neat way to show her growth as a character. There is also other overlapping side stories that weave throughout all of the books. Like I said, these books are multi-dimensional. You feel as if you are reading a suspense novel for the spookiest of times with enough romance and steam to keep that side of your brain interactive as well.

Hope was a fun main character to follow. She is literally one strong woman that I would love to be like in some ways. I found her relatable and her feelings something to marvel at a bit. Hope first is shown to us as a trainee and now we have her in her role facing past demons. Will she be able to heal from the past and find ‘hope’ in the future? I can’t wait to see what will come next in the series and anything else Seelie Kay puts out in the meantime!

Falling For His BadassFalling For His Badass by Jessika Klide
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I always know I am in for a treat when I pick up a Jessika Klide novel. I truly fell in love with the Siri’s Heart series and have been a diehard fan ever since. I was excited to see something new and fresh as much as I love Siri, from Ms. Klide. Falling For His Badass was exactly what I needed too! A fast ride with lots of hot and steamy moments to keep you enthralled and glued to the screen of my kindle for several hours. I am pretty sure it was a dark four a.m. when I finished up this book, but I had to know how things would come to be for Lizzy and BA.

BA is a nice nickname for Brody Andrews as it covers his ‘bada**’ personality as well. His plan to seduce and make Lizzy his, is one that you won’t want to miss out on. Lizzy has just ended a relationship and a new love is the farthest thing from her mind. When her bestie decides that she wants to hook her up with her boyfriends brother the first thing Lizzy thinks is run. These two have all the right amounts of chemistry, drama, and so much more that you can’t help but fall in love with them and root for them by the end of the novel. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Jessika Klide!

What another brilliant read from C.A. King. These books really need to be read as part of a series for the storyline to really flow. You can never be disappointed about what C.A. King will bring you, and once again I was proved wrong in the case of thinking each one couldn’t be better than the last, but once again I’ve been proved wrong, this book is full of twists and turns that will leave guessing and wanting more. I loved following Tails & Brodie’s story, the journey that they take is captivating and they as characters are likeable and keep me hooked to the book.
