Love Surreptitiously by Tarrah Anders was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the start.
I loved Sydney right from the start. She doesn’t get great news at her job and she decides to indulge in some alcohol before heading home. Her train ride home had me LOL. I loved it. This is where she meets a hot good smelling man that makes sure she gets home safely.
The next morning she and her roommate dub him as “Prince Charming”. When she gets to work they get an email announcing a new boss and this is where it gets even more fun and interesting. Her new boss is “Prince Charming”.
Quinn was pleasantly surprised to see the girl from the train again. Can he convince Sydney to go out with him? What will happen when secrets come out?
Overall I really enjoyed this read and LOL several times. I loved Sydney and her verbal diarrhea and Quinn was great and perfect for her. All of the secondary characters add a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great taboo office romance with humor than 1-click and get started today. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Shattered Snow (The Mirror Chronicles Book 1) by Rachel Huffmire,is a retelling of the Snow White Tale. I am a fan of fairy tales and I love Snow White. I’ve read and watched movies of the remade tale and loved all of them. This one was no exception. You think you know where you are in the story and its going along very nicely and then it goes horribly wrong. At one-point I was nearly biting my nails because everything that could go wrong, did. This was a great story and I’m so glad I spent time with it. You will too.

5 stars! Wow is this the end? I have followed this series since the beginning, and it is not a genre I would usually pick up, but I can say I am fully invested in each story. I think the mix of romance, fantasy and ancient times really creates something that appealed to me, and Christy Nicholas is amazing at pulling these different aspects together. I really really love how in this last book we get to see the conception of the brooch, and see who was the first ever in the family to receive it. In the beginning I was kind of iffy on my feelings for Cliodhna, I felt she was just jumping from one man to the next, whoever would have her, but then saw how she really was in love with Adhna. Their relationship is bumpy, and my heart broke many times for Cliodhna when it came to her kids. I can’t give anything away but thinking that her as a mother would have to make the choices she does regarding her children is devastating. It seems she is just dealt one blow after the next once having to relocate to the fae world. Then we have the crazy Bodach who will stop at nothing to become king. There are also many small elements that really give the book that much more power in drawing you in. Overall a fantastic book, the series, each book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading in order.

While this book was out of my usual genre, i loved it!! The way the story of Medusa was written had me not wanting to put this book down until the end. It was very well written and I am looking forward to the next book from this wonderful author.
Oh my goodness, this is one you don’t want to miss. Tarrah Anders is always one of my one-click no questions asked authors for a good romance, but this one exceeded all the expectations. I found myself laughing and pining the whole way through. This book has been very aptly named and the whole love surreptitiously is a perfect idea for a fabulous romance read. We meet Sidney as she is drowning her sorrows over a botched promotional interview. The stranger she chooses to confide in on the train while she is drunk just so happens to turn out to be her new boss. A smexy and well intriguing man too, he snags her attention but she controls the situation. Secrets will attempt to kill the romance before it gets started but we get to follow along on all the perfect and gripping details. I love how I felt as if these two were right there with me and acting out this story before my very eyes. I can’t wait to see what else we will get from Tarrah Anders!

The Queens Dog by N.L. Holmes is the third boo in the Empire at Twilight series. This book can be read as a standalone although the whole series is worth the read. This book is exactly what I have come to expect from not only this series but this author. It was a detailed and well thought out story that really draws you in to what is happening. It is so easy to imagine everything the author is describing it really does feel like you are there with the characters. I like how the authors interest in the historical side of these books clearly comes through. For me it makes the whole book a bit more interesting to read as you can really feel the intensity about it. This story really did have a bit of everything and I couldn’t hep but sympathise with the character the position he found himself in. This is a great book and I would definitely recommend it.

This is a lonely short fantasy novella.Clara’s use to moving going to diffrent places for her parents work. Nice deceptively writing of scenes. I have a love hate relationship with this book as i felt it would he better with more of a drawn out story so there is more backstory. Aa ir felt through at you I hope there is another book.
Brinda does a good job in telling the story. I adore Malerie and Ace. Malerie survived tradegy in her life. Ace is their to keep her safe. Trying to keep from feelings arise for her he’s trying to keep his distance. This is a lovely story and you feep right there with the characters.

Sydney and Quinlan – what a duo! I love the stories Tarrah Anders writes. I am always immediately drawn into the world she creates and find myself rooting for the couple at the center of the tale. And man did I ever love Sydney and Quinlan! Simply a charming, irresistible tale that I couldn’t put down until the last page was finished. Loved it.

Kismet Heart: A Protector Romance by Brinda Berry is the first book in the Surviving Love series. It was my first time reading a book written by this author, but I will definitely look out for more, particularly in this series, in the future.
The book follows Malerie. This eighteen year old girl has been through much more than most people would go through in a lifetime. After surviving the bombing that left her as an orphan Malerie lives a somewhat reclusive life, shying away from others in favour of the safety of her home. When her guardian is killed in front of her during a birthday meal Malerie knows her life has changed again. One of her uncle’s last tasks was to arrange a security companion for Malerie, in the hope of helping her live her life more fully.
Ace was hired to protect Malerie, and the spark between them is pretty much instantaneous. Whilst running from whoever has their sights set on Malerie the two form a strong bond and it’s much more than friendship. This story is fast paced and action packed. I love the bond between Malerie and Ace. The author does a wonderful job at filling the reader in on the back story and the need-to-know information, my only complaint is that I don’t feel as though I got to know the characters very well, I know all the facts about them…but there’s so much more to learn.

This was an amazing love story. I really enjoyed it and the characters were so well written.
Sidney works at a magazine and after losing out on a promotion she gets drunk and shares her woes with a stranger on a train.
Her room mate calls him Prince Charming and Sidney is sure she will never see him again but how wrong she is.
Quin has moved to be closer to his daughter. His plans are work and his daughter until the meeting with a drunk lady on a train turns his world upside down.
There are trails and secrets and betrayals that they need to overcome to be together. Can they do it or are some secrets and betrayals too big.

This was a sweet romance that starts with a holiday fling and turns into something more. There are some parts to Harleigh’s past trauma that were a bit difficult to read and I would have expected her to be going to therapy but I liked her character development and how the author went into the complexities of her story. I also liked Giovani and how down to earth and complex his character was, alongside both Harleigh’s and Giovani’s siblings who added humour to the story. It’s pretty fast-paced and the ending is neatly tied up.

Another amazing read by Ms. Anders….. this was a sexy, funny, forbidden romance…. The chemistry between Sidney and Quinlan was off of the charts. When Sidney doesn’t get the promotion she expects, so why not drink and tell your story to total strangers on the train ride home. Then finding out that one of the listening passengers was her new boss……. what could possibly go wrong???? You have to read this book to find out!!!!

I loved reading the book Wendigo Forest by C.A. King. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I enjoyed reading about the character of Clara Fawn. She and her family were always on the move and Clara is the one that felt the impact of it. I felt empathy for Clara as she felt like an outsider whenever she started over. The book has a suspenseful feeling all the way through. There is mystery in the air, and I was turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. What will Clara and her family find in their new hometown? Read this book to find out. The author does an amazing job of making both the story and the characters come to life. Don’t miss out on an exciting and entertaining book. I would highly recommend reading it.

The playing Series boxset by Stephanie Queen was a great series. I have read a few of this authors books in the past and I am familiar with her writing style. These books were a little different from what I have read by her previously. This really was the perfect set of books to read. It’s starting to get cold out so I found myself snuggled up with my puppies at night, a cup of coffee in hand and got lost in this series. Who doesn’t likes sports romance books or 2nd Chance Romance reads? It’s hard to pick a favorite. You will have to read them yourself and pick one of your own. I enjoyed all 3.
Playing for the money was about bad boy Hunter getting moved to a new team. He needs to keep himself on the right track and prove himself but what can he do when the woman he is supposed to work along side is so attractive. He finds it hard to keep his distance as she does as well. The icing on the cake is, she isn’t just any woman…she’s the coaches daughter!!! Loved the character and Loved reading this one!!
Playing for love was another great read. These two characters are not new friends. They do know each other from sometime ago. The time for them just wasn’t right. Now things may be different. This was a sweet read. I liked the characters. What will happen now that Gabe and Mia are spending some time together?? Read the book and find out.
Playing for keeps has a little bit of a different feel for me. I enjoyed reading the book but, sometimes certain books hit you differently. This happens to be one of them. The main characters in this book are Tate and Chloe. These two have an attraction to each other even if they don’t want to. What happens when their friends get involved?
I can’t wait to read more books by this author. These books were all amazing.

Grosse Pointe is my first novel written by Natalie Barnes and really only my second author who writes historical fiction and overalm I thought it was a wonderful story!
It follows Brek O’Brien and his friend Finnegan as they make their journey from their home country of Ireland over to the States. When they make it over they struggle to find work to really get this whole American Dream going for themselves, until one day they run into a man on the street who presents them with an opportunity.
Historical Fiction is a surprise genre I’m never really sure about, but never seems to disappoint, but especially the prohibition age. The stories are so in depth and the characters are some that you can’t help but fall in love with. Thank you for a great story!

The Bishops Gambit (Redclaw Origins Book 2) is a fantasy romance set in post WW2 America. Rhett, an agent for Redclaw, is tasked with partnering up with her colleague Peter Knight to discover what has been causing the weird goings on in rural suburbia. Having not read the first book, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to easily follow the story and connect with the characters, my favourite being Captain the dog/dinosaur. The story is a mystery with a coinciding romance, but I feel like I need to read more as I desperately want to know what happens next. I would recommend to fans of both the paranormal and mystery genres.

I loved reading the book The Magic of Christmas by Christi Barth. It is a holiday romance story that is wonderful to read. I loved the characters of Rowan West and Jeremy Kincannon. They are both up for the same promotion. Sent to a Christmas-themed park to help with their advertising. What does the future hold for Rowan and Jeremy? Read this book to find out. Rowan is a woman who is driven to succeed in her job. Sometimes this includes shutting out of everything else. Will she have the courage to have some fun? Jeremy is handsome, charming, and kind. What will happen when his feelings for Rowan start to change? I grew to care about Rowan and Jeremy with each chapter that I read. I enjoyed the bantering back and forth between them. This is a perfect holiday story that you won’t want to put down until the final page. I also enjoyed the additional characters that are introduced and interact with Jeremy and Rowan. Don’t miss out on reading this story. I highly recommend it.

Time travel!?! Yes please! This book is a great adventure! So fun. At first this story was a little hard to follow with the new characters and the time travel. But it soon became apparent who was who and how they all related to each other.
Huffmire creates a world with colorful characters. My favorites being Bianka, Ammond and Baigh! Fun names with different attitudes, personalities and beliefs. I really loved the slight twist on a certain fairy tale, super cute.
This story is definitely worth a chance. I look forward to reading the next in the series especially since there was such a great and questioning ending!

I stumbled across Cafe Confidential: an unfiltered and intimate memoir and couldn’t pass it up. I haven’t read many memoirs in the past but I’ve never been disappointed by those that I have read so I figured I couldn’t go wrong. I love Lynda Filler’s style of writing and was really intrigued by her story. I did coincidentally learn that she has another memoir, Love, The Beat Goes On and my interest is definitely sparked. Cafe Confidential is a little under two hundred pages long and a fast 5 star read. I never in a million years could imagine living my life in such an exciting carefree way as the author! Can you imagine if we all set out to find our truths in such a way? Great read, highly recommend.

Grosse Pointe by Natalie Barnes. I loved this book. Its set in the 1920’s in NYC. Brek and his best friend Finnegan travel overseas to get to the States. Ending up in New York City they struggle day in and day out trying to find work when a man offers them something that seems to good to be true they can’t pass it up. This opportunity sends them to Detroit where they are up to their necks in booze, women and guns, all things illegal especially during prohibition. Finally realizing they have entered a very dark and dangerous world (the Mafia) they are too far in to get out. During the time Brek meets Gabriella and falls madly in love but she doesn’t know that he is up to his eyeballs in illegal activity. Being away from Gabriella, Brek makes it his goal to get back to her and hopefully in one piece. This book is full of danger, romance, mafia and drugs. It will grip you from the start and you will be hard pressed to put it down until you finish. I loved it and can’t wait to read more by this author!
Grosse Pointe is a mafia romance set in the 1920’s, it will keep you on the edge from start to finish. I could not put it down once i started. Set in NYC, irish born Brek is in the mafia when he meets gabriella, they must over come obstacles to be together but can they do it? I won’t give anything away except its like a mafia version of Romeo and Juliet.

Playing for the Money
This is the first book I’ve read by the author but it won’t be the last. Queen knows how to capture a reader’s attention and knows how to keep it. Playing for the Money is a great read.
Cat, the coach’s daughter, takes on the task of being a bad boys handler. Being the daughter of the coach has points, but also has disadvantages. The quote I chose for Cat is: “I’ll contact the Players Association so you won’t have to pay their attorney. I’m pretty sure I can convince them.”
Hunter, the bad boy football player, finds himself in trouble. Not once but twice. Cat comes to his rescue for the second one. He keeps his personal life locked up tight. The quote I chose for Hunter is: “I wouldn’t know. Because I don’t need to be crazy to be in love with you. I’d be crazy if I didn’t love you, Cat.”
Highly recommended for sport romance lovers.

Queen loves to keep her readers wanting more. This next story requires tissues as well. The heartbreak reading this is real.
Tate, someone who loves the game, isn’t quite ready for the storm called Chloe. He plays hard to get and really despises her. The quote I chose for Tate is: “Get out, Chloe. It’s time for me to strip down and take an ice bath and I wouldn’t want you to get overexcited and out of control.”
Chloe, aka Smitty, is trying to climb her way to the top. She is sassy and honestly a great person. She sets her eye on Tate. If only she can get over his personality. The quote I chose for Chloe is: “I already am, big boy. Didn’t you know? I’m the pathetic little girl of the late-great master trying to fill her daddy’s shoes and never gonna make it.”

5 Star Playing Series 3 Book Set by Stephanie Queen is a wonderfully collection of three books about three different couples each one can be read as a standalone. Sports genre is one of my favorite genres I mean what’s not to love about it . There’s drama, romance and some heated moments that will definitely make the room feel warm. There’s a friends to lovers and second chances. This author has a way of pulling you and not letting go until the end. The characters are fun and realistic and easily relatable . Find out what happens with each of these couples. I can’t recommend this author enough . If you are looking for your next sports romance pick up this book set you won’t be disappointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this set of three books in Queen’s ‘Playing Series’, each one is a full sports romance novel set in the world of the Boston Militia football team. As the novels contain adult themes and steamy scenes they are intended for adults 18+. ‘Playing for the Money’ is a bad boy sports romance centred around NFL bad boy Hunter Quintanna and his coach’s daughter, Cat. Hunter is desperate to keep his contract with the Boston Militia as he needs the money to support his Mum and siblings but when he meets Cat, the very off limits daughter of his coach he finds it hard to keep his hands to himself. When Cat became bad boy Hunter’s handler to turn around his reputation she definitely did not expect to loose her heart to him. As much as Hunter & Cat try to keep their relationship professional their sizzling connection can not be ignored. I loved Cat and Hunter and their chemistry sizzled off the page, I was cheering them on hoping they would get their happy ever after.
Novel two, ‘Playing for Love’ has a more second chance at love feel to it and having been introduced to the world of the Boston Militia in book one I was looking forward to being back amongst the team. Superstar NFL quarterback Gabriel Wyatt loves football but unfortunately his girlfriend does not and has moved to Atlanta. Things get more complicated when his girlfriend asks him to show her best friend Mia around Boston. Mia turns out to be the girl from Gabe’s college days who he kept at arms length so that a relationship would not compromise his football career. The more time they spend together the crush that they had on each other four years ago develops into something more. Another wonderfully written sports romance by Stephanie Queen who has developed a great world surrounding the Boston Militia and one which she makes come alive. The main characters are likeable and relatable and the storyline is full of romance, angst and drama which had me hooked from beginning to end.
‘Playing for Keeps’, has a enemies to lovers storyline and introduces us to Tate and Chloe. Tate Fontanna is a footballer or as Chloe refers to him as, a ‘jock’ and Chloe Smith is a sports reporter who Tate looks at as being dangerous. Tate believes Chloe is just after a story and can not be trusted whilst Chloe thinks Tate is a player. However neither can deny their instant attraction to the other or the sizzling chemistry between them. Tate needs to avoid bad press as his contract is up for renewal but ignoring the ambitious Chloe is harder than he thinks and Chloe also starts to see Tate in a different light until a scandal erupts and Tate finds out if he can really trust Chloe or not. I loved the banter between Tate and Chloe and how they had to overcome their initial thoughts about one another to develop a relationship. Both characters are likeable and realistic and the author has a way of making the reader feel engaged with them. Tate and Chloe’s chemistry really came across in the narrative, and this led to some sexy scenes. The plot had enough going on in it to keep me happily turning the pages and I felt immersed in the world of the Boston Militia once again.
I ‘binge read’ the three novels, each one can be read as a standalone story although they are all set in the same world and the characters do crossover. Although each novel was an enjoyable read, the stories did take me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading them. Despite all the angst and all the emotions each story in the series is guaranteed a happy and satisfying ending.

I really enjoyed this office romance. The story flows along and easily kept me reading. The characters are fun and inventive and I wondered what they would do next. Quinn was soo soo amazing I had to pinch myself a couple times to get out of my Quinn-stupor. Then I realized he has flaws and secrets….yeah he learns a lesson in a big way. Sidney is the same at times. Quite unbelieving then she does a similar thing….secrets only break things. Gah! Idiots both of them. But they go together so beautifully. I also enjoyed her friends and especially her serial Tinder user and roomie. She added some crazy times to the story.
Overall a quick story by an author whose work I enjoy. I always look forward to see what she will bring me next. Another one that is well done.
