As the last and final book in this trilogy I was quite sad to even start this book. I was excited to see that this book has Lucy all by herself and it just shows how much of a badass she is. With Marcus gone and her dad gone she has to rely on herself to protect her and her friends when the mean girl (I really hated her throuought all books) summons a evil spirit. It’s a very good conclusion to the series!!! Well done! I’m happy that I can go back and reread it multiple times!!!!

Interesting take on investigative who-did-it mystery
This one started off slow for me, but once it ramped up in the second half, I was hooked. This book is written in the second person format and I have come to find those stories harder for me to be swept away with because I feel so removed.
I did enjoy getting to know Lauren and the roll of a stenographer in the court proceedings. While we get to meet the Detective in his official capacity here, with viewing Lauren as the suspect, I do like him as a character and hope to see more, and see if he develops into a love interest down the line. I also loved Aunt Kate’s farm and the mention of alpacas. I enjoyed the tenderness that Maverick and Percy brought out in the other characters and that animals had such a prominent role in Lauren’s life.
I do feel that the story was dragged out a bit more than it needed to be, with lots of conversations that didn’t have much bearing on the storyline and furthering the plot, but did feel like an accurate depiction of what would occur in real life. I did not see that ending coming, nor did I suspect who the killer was. Talk about something coming out of left field! However it didn’t feel so impossible for it to have been that person either.

While Jude’s away, the demons will play. Lucifer’s taking a break on earth and Jude is left ruling the underworld in his place. Lucy has more challenges to deal with and her team is fighting an old evil that has returned with new tricks up his sleeve. There’s more drama, romance, a wedding, excitement, and of course, demon battles in this book. I’m only sad that we won’t get to see Lucy and Jude’s relationship grow more.

I give The Girl and the Demon : YA Paranormal Romance (The Girl and the Raven Book 3) by Pauline Gruber, 5 stars. **This review may contain spoilers from previous books in the series.**
I have not been able to put this series down and I couldn’t wait to read this book. By now, things have come together for Lucy, she is learning a growing, and accepts and embraces all of the new relationships she has developed. But that does mean things are the same. Some of the people she loves and depends on are far away and she has to adapt to this. It is basically the same cast of characters, but we learn even more about some of them and where their hearts really lie. Instead of focusing more on Lucy, the story takes in everyone who can help or harm her.
This book builds us up to the final battle of someone who we know is coming. But it’s not just about that. As with the previous books, there are many surprises Along the way. It is written so well and is very interesting and pulls you in. I really would love to see more books in this world, possibly more about how Jude became who is is now.
In my opinion, it is best if you read the previous to books in the series before picking this one up. You will not regret it, this series is one that you won’t be able to stop reading and you will wish for more.

Ashes of Aldyr is the first book in the Obscured Throne Trilogy, and the first book I have read by Russell Archey. The best way to describe the feel of this book is past-post apocalyptic. Elves, humans, dwarves, and magic trees, what more could you ask for?! As a full time working single parent, I loved how there were many short stories that all connected. I felt this was a very good book for putting down and picking up again later. It is very dark and rather spooky, a perfect read for the season.

Its been awhile since ive read a good Rockstar romance, along with friends to lovers and this didnt disappoint! As a new to me author I expected it to take a little bit to get a feel for their writing and Boy did she prove me wrong! I was hooked from page 1 and i read every page without missing a beat. I say similar because each book follows the toddler Queen Ameria who is being protected by the Nightshade Guild until her family’s assassins are found. Each book follows a different Mage of the Nightshade Guild that has sworn to protect her. This book follows Serena, a powerful mermaid shifter who loves the ocean and beach life. Although she is powerful she begins to fear that her power isn’t enough to protect the young queen from her evil pursuers, so she decides to take up her love interest Peder’s offer to help.
Peder is the mysterious and enchanting leader of shifter sea dragons and he is willing to risk his secrets to help Serena protect Ameria from the monsters that stalk them in the night.
This book was full of thrill, chase, suspense and monsters that you would not expect. I did enjoy this book, but I did feel a little loss at times because I did not read Ameria’s previous back story in the other books. Because it was a short story I couldn’t really feel the connection between Peder and Serena. Despite all of that I still loved the ride of the story. The world building the author did and the immense strength of the main character was amazing and I can’t wait to go back to read the previous and future ones.

Ashes of Aldyr by Russell Archey took me for a ride! I love fantasies, but recently saw this one and knew I had to read! It was so descriptive and very well written! (I am a stickler for writing style and I flew through this book!)
This was a dark fantasy with twists and turns. I will say the beginning was a little confusing as it starts in medias res and doesn’t slow down, but once you get your brain on the right gear I swear only ten minutes had passed and I was done with the book! Must read!!

I just… wow I normally dislike mysteries! I think they are either too cliche or too boring. But not the Crawford Mystery series!!!! Ahhhh!!! Merissa Racine is amazing!! I read the first book first (like a normal person), but I think this could be a good standalone.
So in the first book, we meet everyone and get great story, in the book, ITS WONDERFUL STORY!!!! I could not picture anything that was going to happen and I just loved this books so much. (Upcoming little spolier) following Lauren’s ups and downs after her first run in with a murder was a good look into how skeptical and curious she is. And when Sam and her FINALLY get everything in the open I was so happy!!! @karenmmarsh

My heart! This story had my heart in its grip from the beginning! You will need your tissues and popcorn! It is such a good story. Having family in the hospital with cancer and seeing the others that are fighting the same battle with no one! It’s rough. This story of a psychologist that spends time with one of the patients and it changed both their lives! You never know what you truly mean to someone. I sure hope you keep reading! It’s such a good story! I have recommended this story to friends already.

Shadows of Doubt, the second book in the series A Crawford Mystery by Melissa Racine is just as good as her first book. Although each book could be read as a standalone, it sure helps to know what the main character Lauren went through in the first book. In this second book we find Lauren is now a freelance stenographer. Due to her freelance work being not steady work, Lauren agrees to be the court reporter for her ex-husband… This second book has great character like the first book, plot twists, and Lauren questioning whether she should look for the killer herself. I have really enjoyed this series. I’m sure I’ll be checking for new books by Ms. Racine!

Silent Gavel (A Crawford Mystery Book 1) by Melissa Racine caught my attention from the start. Lauren, a court reporter, finds the Judge she works for murdered one morning when they are supposed to be on the road to a trial in another district. Soon after the police and other emergency vehicles arrive, Lauren is answering questions about why she was there and she begins feeling uneasy about the direction the questions are heading. At one point after frustrated, Lauren starts a list of suspects to find who really did it. This book is full of great characters, some plot twists, a couple of dogs, and kept me guessing as to who the real killer might be. Overall, I really enjoyed the book.

Ashes of Aldyr (The Obscured Throne Trilogy Book 1) by Russell Archey was just purely amazing. This was my first read by Russell Archey and I was definitely not disappointed. While I have not read Mr. Archery before the cover, blurb, and title all really grabbed my attention. So I picked it up and went off to discover a whole new world where characters are all perfectly written, and while this book has some dark undertones it was a perfect blend of dark and fantasy. This is the first installment of The Obscured Throne Trilogy series and I for one am very happy that it’s a series because I can’t wait to see what happens next.

All of the lovable cast mates are back in the third book of this fun series. Lucy is still working on awakening the witchy side of her genes, and Dylan’s demon is coming out in greater strength. Jude’s absence is affecting everyone, and although he tries to reach out to them, his communications are unclear and incomplete. Lucy is stressed about Marcus leaving to spend time with his protector kin, and unwittingly falls into a trap set by Seamus. I enjoyed hearing from all of these characters again, but I found this book really slow to get going. I was waiting for all of the action I expected from Girl and the Gargoyle, and it took awhile to arrive. Having said that, this book is as well written and developed as the others in this series, and if you enjoyed the others, you should definitely complete your experience with this book.

The land of Alda is broken, ever since an event known as The Rupture creatures of darkness have appeared and ravaged the land and its people, there was once a time where these creatures had been sealed away behind 55 seals created from different branches of magic and they held until a cult known as “The Black Gnarl” came along. Slowly this group have worked in shadows and secrecy to break these seals and bring forth the one known as the Obscure Throne into Alda, but they are still waiting to be released, however, they have sent their lesser creatures ahead to wreak havoc on the world in preparation for their arrival.
There are god and goddess like beings whom are both terrible and horrific in the way that their presence infiltrates and exerts their influence in the areas around them, bringing destruction, madness and all in between which leaves the land dying. The life giving and magical Aldyr trees are slowly dying and the elf-kind whose life is connected to them are dying as well, the dwarves are retreating from the lands they called home to the mountains where they hope to find solace and an escape. All the while, the humans are trying to survive in their newly made world and the dangers that come with it as they scrape together what little they can to live off.
This is a story woven from many threads which describe all aspects of The Rupture and the effects it has had on Alda as a whole and told through the eyes and tongues of the few survivors who have both mentally and physically survived long enough to share their experiences. The book leaves you both disturbed and needing to know more as you read through it to discover the who, what, where, when and why of The Rupture, The Obscure Throne and those whose lives revolve around it.

Born to Fall (Can’t Resist You Book 2) by Brittany Anne is a sci-fi dystopian romance story. This is the second book in this gripping tale where the world has been turned upside down. I loved the first book and this one was better. Brittany writes with passion, and it shows when the story pops off the page. Lies and manipulation, deceit and drama, danger and suspense are but a part of what this story has. Throw in some mystery and lots of passion and I was riveted. I love that it is told in multi POV which is my favourite way to tell a story because it really adds that extra layer that connects you more to the characters. The world building is well done, and Brittany paints a devastating picture of what could happen. It is raw and compelling and has you hanging on each and every word. We journey along through action-packed adventure and all the lies and secrets, hopes and pain, sorrow, and frustrations, right along with the characters. Reviewed by @jennadb

Carter has finally met his match! Carter’s and Vanessa’s story is absolutely adorable. They meet in a way that seems completely random but is absolutely fate setting the wheels in motion. Carter is always the first person to step forward to help others while pushing his own needs aside. It made me so happy to see that it is finally his turn to have some happiness with his long awaited mate. This book is different from the others in the series so far because Vanessa doesn’t have any powers, and it makes it even more difficult for her to accept her mate and all that comes along with being part of the Broderick family. If you’re a fan of the paranormal you will love this book! It’s full of romance, heat, action and mystery. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Twilight’s Curse is the first book in the Twilight Realm Trilogy by K.M. Wray. It is a YA fantasy story with elves and brownies, magic and dragons, fighting and action, pain and sorrow, hope and wonder. This was my first time reading a book from this author. The plot and characters are interesting, and there is a little bit of emotions that leak through. There is action and hate, love and lies, pain and sorrow and betrayal. I found I could not fully immerse and lose myself in the story. I needed something more. But please don’t let my thoughts deter you, I am a fussy paranormal fantasy reader. Shadow of Doubt was just as good as the first book in the series. I look forward to more books by Merissa Racine, as I loved both books in the Crawford Mystery series. I really would love to know if the author wrote this from experience (not all the details, but assisting solve a big case). This book could be read as a stand alone, but you would be missing a lot of the background information. Also the first book is really great, so why skip it? The main character Lauren is brilliant, but is currently freelancing and desperate for money. So desperate, she takes a job working along side her ex husband daily. As if that weren’t enough stress, Lauren once again finds herself in the center of a major crime in her little town. On top of that, she has taken it upon herself to play detective and try to prove the innocence of a man on trial for murder. This book is action packed, and once again, has some twists and turns along the way that caught me off guard. I love that the real murderer was not at all who we suspect it will be. Well done Racine!

wow! this is my first read by Nikki Barrett. this story explores Scott and Zeldas journey, and the heart wrenching trauma they endure early in the story that leads them to barely be able to interact. As if that’s not enough Scott can see and speak to ghosts and they Interrupt him at all the wrong times which puts constant strain on his family. When he takes a trip away catastrophe strikes pushing Scott and Zelda to the brink and a secret will be revealed. Will Scott and Zelda be able to save their relationship after tragedy, can they forgive one another and come together stronger? This was a good story and a good 4.5 star read. it will keep you riveted.
Silent Gavel is my first Merissa Racine book, but it won’t be my last. I was instantly hooked and didn’t want to put it down. It is the first book in the Crawford Mystery series, and is a page turner. It is action packed from the very beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat. Lauren finds her boss dead, and soon becomes the lead suspect. She begins playing detective to try to prove her innocents, and while she has many possible suspects in mind, the cops are zeroed in on her. This book is full of surprises and action packed. Relationship drama, ex cons, unemployment, jealousy, the works. I loved all the characters and how they were brought to life. I was shocked to learn who the killer was, as they were not even on my radar (or Lauren’s for that matter). I hope to see some romantic sparks between Lauren and Sam (detective) in the next book. Highly recommend this one! Side note, I thought it was really cool to learn the author is a stenographer, like the lead in this book.

Wow what more can I say. I really love how I have found a series that is complex in that it covers a lot of different chapters of the Satan’s Devils MC chapters. I like how the author is able to bring context to all of the characters and bring complexity to their lives. I also like how the books are not predictable and grab the readers and keep their attention. I was really grabbed in and didn’t want to put the book down.
I really liked how the author was able to build the back story and how at the end of part one we are on a cliff hanger of a sorts. I like how all the characters are conflicted. I really cannot wait to read the next book and see how things turn out. Reviewed by @caraleeloonat

This book takes you by surprise. It’s a page turner from the beginning and the characters are very lovable. Serena is tasked with protecting the orphaned elven princess and enlists Peders help. Along the way Serena and Peders feelings grow for each other. Be prepared to be enthralled by a story of things unseen.

Wow!! I don’t even know where to start with this one, honestly Snowfall Serenade is just simply phenomenal, a one-of-a-kind and truly original storyline, one that sticks with you well after the last page!
This is hands down a series that needs to be read in order, but that isn’t a problem since each book is amazing! This storyline is intense, heart-wrenching, touching, gripping and so very unexpected! I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading, I was so consumed by these characters that I just couldn’t bear to put it down.
This is one of the best series I have ever read and I would highly recommend it to anyone! This is a series that should not be missed!!
Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 1) by Amy Argent. Wow y’all, this book tore me up! If you have read “The Fault in our Stars” and loved it this is right up your alley. Its the story of Will who is dying from a terminal cancer and he’s pretty much given up on life. Tori is a psychologist at the hospital so when her friend Jenny the nurse asks her to meet a patient who doesn’t get many visitor’s she automatically thinks of Will. Will is not really receptive and Tori is stumped because she’s never had a patient totally turn down a visitor. Will is just ready to die because this is not his first round with cancer and this time its super aggressive. Will is just tired and doesn’t want to fight anymore. The more Tori tries to break down his walls it finally works and they fall in love. This book will have you all in your feels and you will fall in love with Will and you will be rooting for him! This is a great fantasy story that is full of adventure, magic and best of all elves which I really enjoyed reading. This is a well written story that has creative characters and even some romance. This is a newer author for me which I enjoyed being pulled into the story by her attention to details. Her creative characters brought life to the story and kept me turning pages to the end. They are full of magic and action. This is a story about Zoe and Nix. They are both elves which are in need of help from each other. She has magic that is broken and needs to fix it. He needs her to stop throwing daggers at him so she can join him in this fight for peace. What happens next I highly recommend reading this book to find out. It is a great young adult story that I would suggest to any young adult looking for a fun adventure. This is a great book to pick up and highly recommend doing so.

This is Red’s story, how he came to join the Satan’s Devils. Red had lived through some things a child should never have to. His mother left after his dad had been in an accident that left his father paralyzed and unable to care for himself. That left Sam to care for his father, he was just a little boy. His dreams and goals had come to a stop. After his father passed, Red got on his bike and rode south. No plans, no destination. No Spoilers!
Manda Mellett has once again opened another book to this series. Every book has become my favorite. This one is no different. You can’t help falling in love with Red or the other members of Satan’s Devils. Her books are fast passed and will draw you in before you can turn the first page. You will find yourself laughing, then crying, followed by wanting to throw your tablet/book. Don’t do it! Just keep reading and it gets better. I am hoping the rest of Red’s story is ready soon. I can’t wait. Well Done Manda Mellett! Well Done! ! !
