My son is into marine life and I ended up reading this book with him. Loved every bit of it. More than me, he loved it. The book is very educational and gives a lot of insight about marine life, especially, the dolphins, the whales and their habitats. There is a fantasy weaved as a plot where the animals have to journey to escape from a deadly virus. As part of the journey, we learn a lot about the animals itself. I would like to get the book in paper back, except that it is a tad too long for a child to read by himself. Neverthless, loved the book .
Second installment of the series, great spin on murder mystery novel.
Loved this book. As someone who knows a bit of the legal process I enjoyed seeing it play out on the page and how Lauren’s character contributed to finding out the truth. I could see how that legal process could be seen as slower reading to the casual reader though. I do think there were confidentiality issues that arose but it certainly made for some good drama in the story.
I enjoyed getting to know more about Lauren’s family history and back story. We get to meet her dad and we get to see more of Aunt Kate and Uncle Jake. We don’t get to see as much of Sam in this installment but his appearances are never dull. I enjoyed Eli, the defense attorney, and the side conversations Lauren and he share.
This book follows in the firsts footsteps with me not having guessed the end result but thoroughly enjoying the conclusion.
Hope there’s a book 3 in the works; I look forward to reading it if so.

Once again it looks like my guilty pleasure has gotten the best of me! YA Paranormal books keep sucking me in! The Girl and the Raven by Pauline Gruber is no exception. I wasn’t sure how I was feeling when I first started reading, intrigued I guess. Once I got further in though, I knew I wouldn’t be able to put it down! I love it. Lucy, orphaned right before her 16th birthday, is taken in by her uncles. Within days of moving to Illinois she finds out she’s half witch. Lucy’s character development was good but she wasn’t my favorite. My favorite characters are between Dylan and Jude. Very important figures in Lucy’s life. I was surprised at the end with the twist for Dylan but it made me love him more. I can tell by the end this series is just getting started and I look forward to book 2!

In Stranded, Feather Chelle takes readers on an adventure with a whale family. Fear of a serious illness scares the whales away from other whale families, and into harm’s way. The family calls upon the Dolphin Riders, a group of enchanted children and dolphins, to rescue them. Chelle does an excellent job describing detail in this story. She defines vocabulary for readers who may not be familiar with marine science. The whales, dolphins, dolphin riders, and their habitats are described in great detail, allowing the readers to envision the characters and their surroundings. Even though this story is written for children, I enjoyed it as an adult. I was disappointed with the ending, however. It seemed rushed and abrupt, and left me wanting more stories of this whale family.

This is a beautiful story that shares the journey of Scott and Zelda. The story starts with a heart wrenching tragedy and difficult decision that Scott has to make. In the wake of the tragedy, Scott and Zelda find distance in their marriage and they are struggling to heal and find one another again. Add in Zelda’s mental illness and the fact that Scott and their daughter can not only see but talk to ghosts, and you have a rollercoaster of a journey! There were times where this story literally took my breath away. This is the third book in the series, and while I could follow along this fast paced story without getting lost and enjoy every step of the journey, I wish I would have some more of their background to really get to know and better understand the depth of their characters. I am going to go back and read the first two for sure!
I honestly have to say I wasn’t expecting what I did when I was going to read this book, I did read book one and have to say this book 2 is nothing like this one. I enjoyed it so much more and was very surprised on how much I did enjoy it. this book very doesn’t do much with space which is something I was very surprised by but had a lot of time travel in it to try and fix things that are coming up in the future to correct with civilization. It was a page turner and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. I honestly would read another book in this series if there will be. Very impressed and very happy that I picked this one, was not disappointed.

I have read a few of Manda Mellett’s books and they have never disappointed. This one is right up there with the rest of them. Red has a hard first 25 years of his life, he took care of his dad for many years giving up his own life. When his dad passes, it is his turn. He loads up the saddlebags on his bike and rides off. A one-night stand with Cheryl turns into a short run before she decides the road isn’t for her. Red ends up hooking up with a motorcycle club. Red is upfront, tactful, honest, and sees things from a different perspective than some of the other men in the club. He is patched in after making a decision that saved some of the members of his club. Can Red do what is best for the club, no matter what chapter he is in? I enjoyed getting a deeper look into Red’s life. He is such an upstanding man and he brings that to the club, not letting the club change him.

This book was amazing, I loved it. I couldn’t put it down. The way this book was written it almost makes you feel like you are standing there and watching everything happen. Trying to make the world a better place for everyone and trying to get the kingdom out from the control of his parents, was just amazing. Nix is an amazing character and is so well written, that he is the hero if the story. The control his parents have over everyone is such a fear base that no one was standing up, but betrayed from his own family, Nix tries to make it right. I really hope that there will be more to this story. I enjoyed it and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Nikki has done it again. I really can’t believe the writing this wonderful author executes but it just really is thought provoking and imaginative in the best way. The story of Scott and Zelda is definitely just as good as the first two books in the series and Snowfall Serenade really didn’t disappoint. The plot is so well thought out and just such a page turning read. I couldn’t make myself out it down!
The second instalment of the Soul Connection series did not disappoint! Nikki Lynn Barrett has done an outstanding job on the continuation of her series. Her writing abilities are astounding and truly magical! the story of Logan and Angel was one that showed pain and grief and forgiveness in a way that left me reeling. It was an incredible read that was executed so well. I can’t get enough and I can’t wait to see more from this author! Get this one quickly!

Peaceful slumber was a great read in the paranormal category. Having an incident occur that allows you to see ghosts is pretty insane, but the book was so well written! It was one that made you think and feel so much so quickly! The plot was well thought out and I found this book to be a great start to the series! Easy to read and a great page-turner.

This is a great YA fantasy adventure. It is a fast paced story which had me hooked from the first page to the last. It’s the first book in The Twilights Realm Trilogy and I can’t wait to see how this story unfolds. The author does an amazing job with the characters. Both Nix and Zoe are strong characters and both have had to over come a lot of tragedy to get to where they are today.
Nix is the Prince of the Twilight Relam. After witnessing his parents being murdered he goes into hiding until he is mature enough to take his rightful place on the throne. However after what he witnessed he doesn’t know whether he will ever return to take his place as King. The people who murdered his parents are still out there waiting for their change to take over the throne.
Zoe is the daughter of the people responsible for Nix’s parents death. Her life with her parents was no picnic with her mother using her to experiment on and test her magic. However what her mother doesn’t know is that Zoe has more power that she could ever imagine. Spotting her opportunity Zoe escapes and goes into hiding to get away from her parents. I had loved the first installment in this breath taking series, and this one just as amazing as the previous. This time though we already had the character introductions done and knew the main aspects of what made them who they were, but I knew things are not always what it seems, this novel brought on so much feelings, dare I say disbelief? I was hooded and sucked into this, and did not want to put this book down!
The novel takes place after the events of the previous novel. Julia and Derek are amazing characters, and my love for them both only continued and became stronger in this moving novel, and with the events circulating them in this book, there was a lot at stake for them both, and not just the feelings and passion they felt for one another! The story was very realistic, say the world is being thrown into chaos. Every move you make can determine a uprising or downfall. Chose wisely, it may be your last. What if though, the decision you trust on is wrong and everything you thought you knew was right was actually the exact opposite? The book was powerful and brought on a roller coaster of emotions, and a lot of feelings!
I was hooked even more I would like to say with this one. As said Derek and Julia met in the first under circumstances that were probably less than ideal for them both. The passion and tender touch that gives that light house a shine that guides the boats home on the darkest days, was exactly what the feelings an souls of one another did for each other. It was powerful and moving. They were on different sides though, would they go against what they each stand for to find a home in each other that may truly be the one thing they should be fighting for in amidst of it all? Again, powerful and realistic writing!
This series, impacts me so much, it makes me feel more than just intrigued! I am kept wanting more to see how things will develop and how things will happen, by the way the book flows as well as decisions of the characters. The author has created a world not so different than our own, or more less what it could easily turn out to be if we don’t actually realize what is going on and prevent, and stand for what is and should be done. Honestly the realism is very real for me. This book series is one of favorites, and I have barely scratched the surface. This is not a series or book to pass up. High recommendation from me!

I loved this book so much, it kept me in anticipation through out reading! I loved the mystery surrounding the main characters as well as the hidden truth that needed to unravel! The book brought on questions for me, and I was left wanting more. The whole mysterious altitude this book gave was wonderfully done!
Zoe and Nix were wonderfully written as well as brought to life. I could not get enough of them personally. They both were different souls, that had to rely on one another to face what they were going through, more less enduring. Both of them were magical in their own way, and I found each of them learned life lessons as i found that was a big part of the book, was emotional drama yes that would lead to peace and understanding that lead to learning something. It was something that spoke with heart to me, and made me feel happy inside to read on! The novel and its plot lines was wonderfully done!
There was so much more to this story though than just action and life lessons. There was danger, mystical beings, mysterious moments, suspense and so much more. I loved the world itself and the descriptive tones the author used to describe it, in truth it was breathtaking to imagine, and the way the story flowed had me hooked. I am very much looking forward to reading the next installment!
The story and the words flowed so evenly and nicely as I read through this book! I loved every aspect of it, and I feel young adults and people who are grown adults who still love their visits to mythical words and fantasy would as well! I certainly did! This was a new author for me, I loved reading this first installment and I will be for sure reading more installments in the series! Highly recommend this book!

This is a full length novel and a continuation of the Nite Fire Series. Here you will once again come face to face with dragons and shapeshifters. Oh wait, that would describe Dahlia Nite. Our main character she is a powerful detective and with her partner Alex Creed, they must stop whoever is leaving dismembered bodies all over the City. So combining two worlds and working among humans, Dahlia has her hands full. She also has secrets that could destroy who she is. The goal is to find the killer and stop the mayhem scattered about the City and to protect other species.
C.L. Schneider has continued to keep readers and listeners entertained with her Paranormal Fantasies. Her book is well written and flows smoothly. The Girl and the Demon is the third, and sadly final book, in The Girl and the Raven series by Pauline Gruber. In the first two books we were introduced to Lucy Walker who discovered that she was half witch and half demon. Her life was turned upside down as she was forced to battle demons and supernatural forces in a battle between good and evil.
In the Girl and the Demon, Lucy feels that her life might finally be returning to normal and that she can live the life of a normal teenager. That sense of calm and normal is short-lived when once again she is forced to battle for her life against her mortal enemy that has returned to finish her off. Lucy was left to deal with the demon that has returned for her without the help of her beloved Marcus, her protector. He is out of town dealing with things of his own and can’t be there to help Lucy when she needs him the most.
It’s bad enough that Lucy is forced to defend herself against her mortal enemy without the help of Marcus but now someone that she thought was a friend has done the unthinkable. She has held a séance and summoned an evil spirit in the process that puts Lucy and her friends in grave danger. To save those she loves Lucy is forced to reveal who she really is and her supernatural abilities. It is now up to Lucy to rescue her friends, her family and an entire city from the evil forces that have set out to destroy her and everything she knows.
After reading books one and two in The Girl and the Raven series I couldn’t wait to read the third and final installment. These books did not disappoint. I fell in love with the characters, especially the character of young Lucy. I admired her strength and her resolve in the face of danger. I truly admired that no matter what she had to endure she did what it took to protect those that she loved the most. The author, Pauline Gruber did an amazing job of writing this entire series! Although it is classified as being for young adults, I feel that it is a series that anyone of any age can enjoy. The characters and scenes are very well written with great world building that makes the reader feel as though they were right there. There is no lack of action or excitement throughout. This book contains it all in one with a nice blend of romance, mystery, suspense, the supernatural, and the battle between good and evil. This was an amazing series and I’m sad to see it come to an end.

This was a hard read for me as this is the only book I read in this series and it is the final book of this trilogy. This book was good it has a popular trope that keeps you reading. This book I feel leaves many questions left unanswered about some characters or Gruber may have a knack with character development that you don’t want their story to end. Great writing and well developed. The demons and witches and gargoyles is a nice twist. There are twists and turns that had me taking an extra breath and reread a page as if I missed something. I always appreciate a strong female protagonist, read book one and two first because I believe if I did Lucy would be hands down a favorite character of mine. Girl that is half demon half witch how can that possibly go wrong? Four stars this was very enjoyable.

Will Everson is a 29 year old patient with terminal cancer. He refuses all visitors including his family and friends to make it easier on them. He knows he can’t fight the disease but has decided to pass on his own terms. DNR gives him the power to choose.
Tori is a clinical psychologist who works with terminally ill patients and doesn’t want them to give up hope. She wants to change Will’s mind about dying believing he should not give up hope. This starts their relationship.
As someone who has watched a few family members pass from cancer, this took me some time to get through. I can understand Tori resolved to try to bring hope but I can also understand how important DNR was to Will because I remember my Aunt chose the same and was kinda upset and surprised when she told me. But it was her choice and I had to respect it. Throughout the story, it just felt like Tori didn’t respect Will’s choice like she should have.
I feel this would have probably worked better if this was a friendship instead of a romance. With his timing coming to end, at least he would know he was loved and loved someone else. So I could see this story as working with either one.
Such a heartbreaking story with some sweet moments.

Ok, this time I really mean it when I say this is my favorite of the series. I say this just about every time I finish one of this author’s books, but I’m really serious this time! LOL
I’m so glad I made notes way back when this series started because every book follows a back story even when each spotlights a different couple. Characters from all of the Bodyguards series and even those series that came before tend to pop up unexpectedly throughout. This one was intense and had me gripping my kindle all the way through. As usual I read it in one sitting because this author’s books are impossible to put down. I’ve read almost all of her books and will never pass one up. How she keeps every one of them fresh and new I’ll never understand and always has me wanting to go back and read all of them all over again! Allie was so strong and I felt I connected to her even quicker than others. This had it all..Danger, Suspense, Romance, more danger, more suspense and I loved every single word.
You could read this as a standalone as this author does a fantastic job with making each feel like the first, but there is still so much you’d be missing by not reading them all.

I love stories like this! There are some many characters, a lot of action and suspense plus the magical element lead to a good story. We have elves and brownies that garner the attention of the story. I loved following both Zoe and Nix on their individual respective journey then when they mesh together things really get interesting. They both had some early life struggles that tugged at my heart. I was pleased with the growth of each of their characters.
This is a soft ending meaning it will pick up with book 2. I highly enjoyed reading this and look forward to more in this series.

Tenacious is the book you want when you are looking for romantic adventure with some steamy romance. I had to put this one at the top of my best of 2021 Dark Romance. The chemistry between Allie and Nick was palpable. Tenacious put mildly. Allie is flat out a strong and stubborn woman who can take care of her self. Call Nick Alpha but he felt a little old-fashioned to me, which some women still like. Toss in their friends and the adventures and trafficking case; these two went through heck and they came out stronger and together. If you like your romance spice, you’ll find some in there. Muy caliente! Great book! Quick read. I couldn’t put it down once I started. I highly recommend you should read this. Come on, you know you want to….

Sea Mage by Louisa Bacio a four-star read that needed a little more direction. This is number ten in the series, something I didn’t realise before I started, so maybe I should have read the blurb instead of just the cover, in my defence it’s a very pretty eye-catching cover. But the world building was great, and I didn’t feel too lost in that way, but the lack of clarity as to who we were hearing from threw me more. Overall, a good story, could have just done with a little more clarity. I will be picking more of the series up and I really liked the characters and would like to get to know them more.

Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett a five-star read that you need to read. This is number three in the Soul Connection series, and you could read it as stand-alone, but honestly, I would recommend you read them all as they build the background, and you get to know everyone. Nikki Lynn Barrett shows us grief and loss in a true and honest manner, its not glossy and light, its raw. Zelda and Scott will keep you hooked, they have a battle on their hands and its unsure if they will make it to the other side. This has been a great series and I am so excited for number four.
Let me just say Yowzah!! I never go into a second book really expecting it to out preform book one but ‘Shadow of Doubt’ by Merissa Racine really out preformed my expectations. I absolutely loved the way she took her characters over the top! You really get to see who her characters are. The story development is well planned and progresses at the right moments. I really enjoyed the story as it had a little of everything.

Mia is back and perfect for Edward. I was so excited to see that Mia was back for this one and that she is Edwards mate! They have a little bit of a rocky start but once they stop fighting destiny so hard you can see that they are meant to be together! Edward has always seemed to hold his self back from the rest of the family and observe from a distance instead of joining in. All of that starts to change once Mia becomes such an important part of his life. I really enjoyed watching their romance blossom and the family dynamic shift. This book was amazing and I really hope that there’s a book planned in the future for poor Peter to find his mate.

Another hit! Shadows of Doubt: A Crawford Mystery by Merissa Racine is an excellent second installment! We pickup following small town court reporter Lauren, who is closely tied to another murder in town. When someone is arrested and tried, she just isn’t so sure they have the right man. Can she help unravel the mystery?
I really enjoyed this story and again found Racine’s writing style to flow so well, keeping me engaged and turning the page. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up (and any others she writes)!

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour) by Victoria Zak is a wonderfully written friends to lovers romance that I absolutely loved reading. I’m a huge fan of Rock Star Romance stories and this one fit the bill perfectly. I literally devoured this book in one sitting . This is a fairly new author to me but I’m definitely a fan already. This is Mel’s and Joe’s story, She’s the daughter of a legendary rocker drummer . She is a cellist and her dream is to play for the LA orchestra. She’s also sworn herself from dating rock stars. Joe is the drummer for Gracefall and they are off on a four month long tour. Joe and Mel are best friends and both are in love the other. Can she trust him to not destroy her heart? What will happen when Joe’s secret come out? I highly recommend reading this to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Twilight’s Curse is the first book in The Twilight Realm Trilogy by K.M. Wray. It is a YA fantasy adventure story with elves, dragons, magic, action, drama, battle scenes, and emotions. The world building is original and gives the story its own unique identity. Ms. Wray has done a good job of bringing her ‘world’, characters, and story to life – only I was the barrier to truly enjoying this story as I couldn’t fully connect with the characters or their story. I am hoping that the next book may remedy that, because this type of story is normally my jam. But this has set the trilogy off to an interesting start, laying the foundations, and giving me a taste of what’s yet to come.
