Love’s Reverie (The Stardust Duet, Book 2) by KG Fletcher – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Love's Reverie (The Stardust Duet, #2)Love’s Reverie by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having read and enjoyed book one in ‘The Stardust Duet’ I waited impatiently for this second novel which concludes Phillip and Kat’s epic time travelling romance, and I was not disappointed. Having pined for over half a century for Kat Monroe, the celebrated jazz singer, Phillip can’t believe that he gets a second chance at love with her, when he arrives as a young man in the future. He plans to join Kat on tour as her piano-playing accompanist but wants to marry her first. Phillip plans one more trip through the time portal back to 1947 to get his late mothers wedding ring, however, when he attempts to return the portals magic has vanished. He then finds himself stuck back in the past and pining for Kat again.
I fell in love with Phillip and Kat in book two and it was lovely being back with them, they really are a couple in love, so much so that their romance transcends time itself. The two different eras were yet again brought to life by the authors descriptive narrative and I felt completely immersed in the storyline. The connection between the main characters sizzles off the page and I was just hoping they would get their HEA. However, the plot twists kept me guessing as to how their story would end, leaving me gripped until the end. I recommend reading the books in order, and they were both enjoyable and engaging reads. ‘Love’s Reverie’ left me thinking about the characters long after I had turned the last page.

Born to Fall (Can't Resist You, #2)Born to Fall by Brittany Anne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Born to Fall by Brittany Anne is the second book in the Can’t Resist you series. This book is absolutely fantastic. I loved the first book but this one is even better. I was captivated by this story and the world the author has created. It feels like such a dark place, simular but so different. I love the whole idea this book is based on and the way the author creates such a vivid image is amazing.
I loved Derek and Julie. I thought their story was so haunting and intense. They had both been through so many things.
I am hooked on this series and I can’t wait to see what is next.

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection #3) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Kerry Baker

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection, #3)Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the third book in the Soul Connection series. For me you definitely need to have read the other books on this series before this one in order to fully enjoy it.
This book is such an emotional story. Your heart becomes thoroughly invested in the story and everything the characters go through. More than once I shed a few tears at this book, which I really think is testament as to how well the boom has been written. You really go on the journey with these characters, it is impossible not to.
This is such a brilliant series but this book is definitely favourite so far. I would highly recommend this series to everyone!

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amy McKinley has done it again! This is the second story in the Mafia Elite series, and I think it was even better than the first. Definitely recommend reading the first book so get a more in depth background and love of the characters, but I don’t think its strictly necessary. There are so many characters that it took me a little bit into this book to remember exactly who they all were! Thank heavens for the list of names and families at the start of the book! All the characters are relatable, the story is a roller coaster, and I did not want to put down! I love a good friend to lovers, so this is definitely my favorite so far. I cannot wait for her next book!

Love’s Reverie (The Stardust Duet, Book 2) by KG Fletcher – Review by Karyn Taylor

Love's Reverie (The Stardust Duet, #2)Love’s Reverie by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s a great week when several of your favourite authors release new books. This past week for me was one of those weeks when KG Fletcher released Love’s Reverie, the 2nd book in the Stardust Duet. I had been waiting very impatiently for this 2nd book in the duet to be released so I could lose myself in the conclusion to Kat and Phillip’s story.
Set in both the present day and in 1947, Love’s Reverie is a beautiful romance story with a time travelling element that add so much to the story. I loved reading about Phillip and Kat both in the present day and when they travelled back to 1947. This book is set much more in the present day than the first book and we get to see how Kat And Phillip’s lives together have progressed.
I really loved this book and was totally hooked and loved being taken on the journey of Kat and Phillip’s story. KG Fletcher really has an amazing talent at writing beautiful, heartfelt romances that really tug on the heartstrings and take you through every emotion possible. I really love her style of writing and this book is a brilliant example of just how amazing her storytelling is.
Love this book and definitely recommend it.

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection, #3)Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Boy, am I glad that I decided to read this book right away after the other books in the Soul Connection series! The third book in the series, Snowfall Serenade brought back the story of Scott and Zelda, which made me ecstatic and helped me read it that much quicker!

Just like the previous books in the series, each chapter in this book was an emotional roller coaster, and at the end of every chapter I wondered what would happen next. So many things had changed in the lives of Scott and Zelda since the first book, and it was interesting to watch where each chapter lead their story. I reached the end far too quickly and can’t wait to read another book in the series.

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection, #2)Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Yet another emotional roller coaster, Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the second book in the Soul Connection series and I flew through it just as quick as the first one! I am glad that I started it as soon as I finished the first one, it certainly didn’t disappoint!

The book was a bit different from the first one, but the story that Barrett has written in the story about Logan and Angel is just as intriguing as this one. I was excited to see Scott and Zelda make an appearance in the novel, as I was very much hoping for a continuation in their story. I am excited to see what the next book in the series will entail, but after reading these two know it will be very well-written!

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Kayla Kearney

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection, #1)Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another perfect book to read during spooky season, Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett, the first in the Soul Connection series, is a romantic ghost story that will pull in all readers. From the very beginning, the story is full of mystery and suspense, the reader wondering at the end of every chapter what will happen next.

The chemistry between Scott and Zelda is tangible as helps her to figure out what has happened to her. How did she die? Where did she come from? All of these questions and more are at the forefront of their minds throughout the book, making it a quick read as more questions arise as others are being answered.

This is the first book by Nikki Lynn Barrett that I have read, but I plan to read the next two books in the Soul Connections series right away, as I fell in love with the characters she has written and am excited to see what comes next in their stories!

Ashes of Aldyr (The Obscured Throne Trilogy Book 1) by Russell Archey – Review by Alexandra Leith

Ashes of Aldyr (The Obscured Thorne Trilogy Book 1)Ashes of Aldyr by Russell Archey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A perfect book for Halloween! This book is a dark fantasy so be prepared to get some chills.

Ahes of Aldyr takes place in a land called Alda which has been destroyed by a sinister cult and the beings they worship. This cults mission was to break through 55 seals to release the creatures and God like beings of the Obscure Throne who quiet literally bring hell on earth. People are being taken and forgotten, creatures wreak havoc on the ones still there, strange plants and smells are taking over cities and the remaining surviors are just doing what they can to survive.

I absolutely loved this book because it is like nothing I’ve ever read before. Each chapter is a different story told from a different point of view and even time. At the beginning it doesn’t seem to make sense but once you let go of the traditional way of story telling you start to see the bigger picture of this book and what the author did. Usually when you read a book its only from one or maybe a few points of view. Which can be very limiting especially in a dystopian story. However Archey told this story from everyone’s point of view. From the cult members, the low and the high society members, the innocent and the guilty, and the different beings that make up Alda. This book gives the reader the imagery of an entire world that has fallen and how it came to be that way. The world-building that came from Archey’s mind is brilliant and genius. With each chapter we see the same world but from others eyes and it created something beautifully horrific. This book is truly a one of a kind and I cannot wait to read the rest of this trilogy.

Love’s Reverie (The Stardust Duet, Book 2) by KG Fletcher – Review by Kerry Carr

Love's Reverie (The Stardust Duet, #2)Love’s Reverie by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in The Stardust Duet series. This book is just as captivating as the first one. It is full of time travel adventure and romance. I highly recommend reading the first book as it will help you understand the characters, their connection and how they came to be where they are in the second book.

Now that old Philip has passed away Kat travelled back in time to explain how the young Phil could join her in her world so they could spend their life together after finally finding each other.
Finding his way in this new era takes some adjusting for Phil but his love for Kat makes it all worth while.
As things progress Phil decides to return to his era to get his grandmother’s ring. That’s when disaster strikes.
After returning Phil find out his way back to Kat doesn’t work anymore. What is he going to do to get back to the woman he loves and his soul mate? What sacrifices will they both have to make to be together? Or will Kat take the fact Phil hasn’t returned as a sign he doesn’t really want to be with her?

This story is heartwarming as well as heartbreaking. You want the best for the characters. You want them to finally enjoy their love after all they have gone through to find each other, however there is definately challenges for them to face and these challenges make the story unique and keeps you reading to see if they make it back to each other.

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Karyn Taylor

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve been totally spoiled this week by reading 3 books by 3 of my favourite authors. The first of these is Blood Oath by Amy McKinley. Blood Oath is the 2nd book in the Mafia Elite series. Each book can be read as a standalone but the characters are interconnecting between each book. As Amy McKinley is one of my favourite author’s and this book (as well as book 1, No Way Out) is awesome then I’d recommend you read both, and in order.
We met the main characters in this book Enzo and Sofia in the first book and I was excited that these two got their own book to tell their story. Amy McKinley is a master (or is it mistress) of writing romantic suspense and Enzo and Sofia’s story is another fantastic example of her amazing storytelling skills. I was hooked to this book from the very beginning and loved the amazing journey that I was taken on, right up to the very end.
This book is full of drama, intrigue, danger and suspense. Added to that is the amazing love story of Enzo and Sofia, a couple who captivated my heart.
Worth more than 5 stars. Definitely recommend.

So this is my first holiday-themed book for this year, and I really enjoyed this. It was a fun little read and I really enjoyed the relationship between Sawyer and Liberty and it was so cute. I may have to go back and read the others in this series. It didn’t take from the story either. A good chrismtas story to start the season off.

Blood Oath

Mafia Romance
Mafia Elite Book 2
By Amy McKinley
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
This is a full novel, book 2, I recommend you follow this series. Some series just need to be read in order. This is Sofia and Enzo’s story. While Sofia is an up and coming fashion designer, there are other things that go with being part of a mafia family. Being the baby of the family and the only girl. Makes her life that much harder. But she wants what every young lady wants. To put her fashion on the runway. Enzo on the other hand is not only good looking but he is part of a mafia family as well. He would do anything to protect Sofia, even if it could get them killed. His goal is to stay away, for her protection. But family secrets have a way of coming to the surface. Now what? Read on and find out what will happen next. No Spoilers!

Amy McKinley has done it once again. The story itself will keep you reading. This is a fast paced rollercoaster of a read. I instantly fell in love with Enzo and Sofia. She is so independent and strong. He is just too hot to handle. He will protect Sofia with his life. Amy McKinley just has a way with her writing technique, she will keep you wanting so much more. That is where I am at this moment. I want more from Amy McKinley… Well Done Amy McKinley! Well Done! ! !

LUKE (DEFAULT DISTRACTION #4) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Shelly Kittell

Luke (Default Distraction Book 4)Luke by A. S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a powerful yet witty book. Also full of pain, the story of Luke and Nikki with past pains. Luke and Nikki have had some rough times through their lives. They come together over a pink tutu, pink snow cap and mittens. You’ll need to read the story to find out about that scene. I promise, it’s funny. Nikki takes a job as Brie’s nanny and falls in love with Luke. Their relationship goes through struggles that brings them out stronger and tougher. I couldn’t have been happier for this couple. Well done by the author. The story flows well. I fell in love with the characters. They felt like real people. You should give this one a try. I high recommend you do.

Check In (Bobbins Sisters Series Book 2) by Debra Parmley – Review by Amy Brennan

Check InCheck In by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

To be honest, I wasn’t over the moon for this short novel. Perhaps if I had of read the first installment, Check Out, I would have had more information on the sisters, and wouldn’t have felt thrown into the middle of a story. It really was very cute, and I felt all the emotions I would want to feel in a romantic, dramatic plot line. The way that Len insisted on looking out for Leann and protecting her as much as he was able to be successful in proving to the reader, he was exactly the type of man she needed in her life, and vice versa. It was certainly a whirlwind romance that could have developed in a more natural way if the story was just a little longer, but it was a nice little pick me up for a one sitting read! I will be going back to read Ms. Parmley’s ‘Check Out,’ as I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style. I am glad I picked this up, thank you, Debra!

A Spell of RowansA Spell of Rowans by Byrd Nash
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this fantasy story that is full of suspense and magic. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. I have enjoyed her writing skills and attention to details from the first book I picked up of hers. This book is no different. I was pulled into the story by the characters as well as how fast paced the story was. This is an engaging story that I had a hard time putting down. The characters are connectable and give life to the story. I will say that this story could cause some triggers for some but if you get past those you will find a well written story that is entertaining to read. This is a story about family and the drama it can cause as well as what happens with siblings. I enjoyed the growth of the characters as well as the plot throughout the story. This is certainly worth the pick up and I highly recommend it

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley

5 +++++ Stars

Oh Lord, I think I have a new favorite Amy McKinley series!! This one has had my heart racing while reading both this one and the first. I was so looking forward to Sophia and Enzo’s story and I must say there were times I lost my breath while reading. Whether because of the suspense, the danger, the love, or the friendship and sacrifices made by these characters, it took my breath away.

I can not recommend reading this as a stand alone, you need the whole of both books to follow this story. I can, though recommend you take notes after each one if you’re not going to read them back to back. I did, but learned I didn’t write down enough so it took me a bit to check back in and get people, names, and relationships straight. This did not in any way take away from the awesomeness of this story and I can not wait till book 3. I also can not wait to have them all and reread them all at one time.

Phenomenal story, with phenomenal writing.

LOVED!!!

LUKE (DEFAULT DISTRACTION #4) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Jenni Bishop

Luke (Default Distraction Book 4)Luke by A. S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Luke (Default Distraction Book 4) is another wonderful addition to this Rockstar romance series by this great author A.S. Roberts. I was like a kid in a candy store when I saw this book was coming out and may have in done a little dance, apparently I forgot I was on the bus. Anyhoo, I have been waiting and waiting and did I mention waiting for this book to come out but now that I have read it I am sad to see it end. Make sure you start with book one and work your way through to get the most out of the reading experience. These complex yet loveable characters and their back stories are everything you could ever want. It is so easy to get lost in one of AS’s stories and become invested in the characters whom feel like old friends.
I am not going to give away anything. Nope no spoilers. You really need to read and experience it all for yourself.
This series is a must to each and everyone’s TBR list.

The Groomsman is a fantastic and arousing contemporary romance. I was instantly enamoured by this story and the author’s play on words. Instantly immersed and hanging on every word. It began sexily and the heat just got hotter as the book got longer. Each character was magnetic and totally beguiling. Dialogue was believable and descriptive. Each scene breathed stimulation and allure. Playing hard to get became a thrilling chase. And it was incredibly salacious. An imaginative tale that oozed charisma and clashing personalities. And lots of heat. Packed full of all the pleasures that I love in a romance. A fascinating abundance of titillating attraction at its finest . 5 stars.

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas Book 4) by Marianne Rice – Review by Beverly Finnie

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas, #4)Snowflakes & Stockings by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Marianne Rice really had me going into her romance Snowflakes and Stockings, but I fell in love three quarters of the way through when she referred to Italian Sauces as “Gravy.” Having a heavy Italian background in my family that was what I heard growing up, but I’ve been looked at as I was crazy calling it that but I digress.
Back to the story between Sawyer and Liberty! Liberty, tasking herself with finding out who Maine’s Secret Santa is, never thought the quest would change her life. Sawyer, a workaholic eligible bachelor, never made time for anyone in his life, till his eyes landed on Liberty.
Coming from a “ broken home” myself, I understand both Sawyer and Liberty’s lives and family dynamic. I was always one to throw myself in my work as well. I feel at home reading this book and want to be part of their lives!
In an idyllic holiday setting in Maine no less, dreaming of a white Christmas yet, I can imagine how beautiful it all must be. This is the first book in this series I read, so now I have to go back and read books 1-3, to see if I love them as much as this 1!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What’s not to love about Rockstar romance- right? This is all that and more! Hands down one of the best Rockstar romance stories/series that I have read- and I have read quite a few. Ms. Roberts knows her craft so well. This story has so much depth, development, interest, and attention to detail. And, when combined with the rest of the series- magic happens!
Luke is the fourth book in the amazing Default Distraction series by A.S. Roberts. As with the previous three books, this is a superb Rockstar romance with plenty of emotion, drama, angst, chemistry, sizzle, tension, family friendship, choices, new beginnings, a touch of suspense- as well as being a bit of a window into the Rockstar lifestyle.
It could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the previous three books first, as they help to build the backbone of the series, introduce the characters and provide other important details that can only enhance your reading experience of this book- as well as the series as a whole- not to mention that they are a wonderful reading experience in their own rights.
Can’t wait to see what Ms. Robert’s has in store for us next!

Thank you, A.S. Roberts!

The Groomsman by Marina Hanna – Review by Char Wahtomy-Alba

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna

Mark and Lauren were only supposed to have a one night stand, but it turned into something more. Although Mark keeps trying to convince himself that he doesn’t have time for a relationship things keep heading in that direction. Lauren seems ready to dip her toes back into the dating pool, but is still skeptical of anything that seems suspicious of men after finding out her last boyfriend was married. Will Mark eventually quit being in denial and allow himself happiness with Lauren? Or will his secretive phone calls have her taking a hike?

This was a quick read and enjoyable. There are several steamy scenes and the chemistry between the characters leapt off the pages. The flow of the book was great and kept moving forward at a good pace with great character development.

Cross-Country Christmas (A Silver Buckle Brides Romance) by Laurie Lewis – Review by Lyndsay Withey

Cross-Country Christmas (Silver Buckle Brides #1)Cross-Country Christmas by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Have you ever just wanted to pack it all up and drive across the country to start over in a new city? This was the whole reason CC decides to take a temporary job driving from Chicago to Las Vegas, but fate would put up a few different obstacles before she could finish the trip. Reese is content living the bachelor lifestyle on his cattle ranch with little time for holiday cheer. Together they both must learn how to trust not only each other but themselves if they want to move past the pain from their pasts.

Laurie L.C. Lewis has written a beautiful story about taking a chance not just on love but on life. There are some twists and turns along the way which help to take this book to the next level. The beginning few chapters were a little slow which stopped me from giving the book a 5-star review but it is definitely a solid 4.75 star read! Highly recommend this to anyone who wants a quick read (less than 5 hours) and a wonderful feel-good Christmas story.

Blood Oath by Amy McKinley is the second book in the Mafia Elite Series. This book centered on Sofia and Enzo. They have always been drawn to each other even when they were kids. When the park they were playing at was attacked, Enzo was there to help Sofia to safety. The two of them made a blood oath then and there with Enzo promising to always be there for Sofia to keep her safe. Of course life has a way of making things difficult and circumstances pull them apart. When Sofia seems to be in the line of sight of a terrible man named Ivan, Enzo must be the one to keep her safe! I loved the fist book in this series but the story of Sofia and Enzo is amazing! Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
