Sea Mage (The Nightshade Guild, Book 10) by Louisa Bacio – Review by Ashleyann Sanabria

Sea Mage (The Nightshade Guild, Book 10)Sea Mage by Louisa Bacio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The story was definitely interesting. It follows a sea mage who is charged with looking after an important baby for a month. The is adventure, danger, and high stakes get away! This is book 10 in the series, but they all appear to be stand alone books. This is the only one I have read so far, and I did not feel lost at all. I enjoyed the familiar and I liked the romance that was in the story. I wish it was longer and that the princess has a bit more page time, but it was an enjoyable story none the less!

LUKE (DEFAULT DISTRACTION #4) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Lorrene Huisman

Luke (Default Distraction #4)Luke by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! Just wow. This book really took my soul and would not let go! Luke brought a lot to the table as a character, and he was someone that was so easily to fall in love with, and connect with as well. His background made the story, in more than one way, this book was different than most, in a very positive way!

Luke was a noble man I dare to say, he put his daughter above all else. He really was a good father in truth. If it was good for his daughter and her well being, then it certainly was good for him. Luke had gone through a lot, with the history of loss, that still impacts him to this day, and defiantly weighs on his daughter’s heart. Losing someone so dear to both of them. Luke has his heart torn up in past events and no way possible he is up for love or even trusting someone again. Throw in the marvelous Nikki who comes to be Luke’s nanny for his darling daughter. Nikki had a past of her own, a past of hurt and drama that still reflected upon her to this day What she did not expect, as well as Luke, is the connection these two souls feel, perhaps even to heal both their heart’s in ways they never thought possible…?

For me, I loved the emotional whirl wind this novel gave to me. Luke’s story was of love, passion, pain, and trying to heal. And putting his best foot forward, for his daughter was his world and he would make sure she got everything she deserved, and lived a good life. For me that was super admirable and wonderful to read, despite everything Luke had endured, his love for his daughter kept him going. I loved Nikki as well, who had sufferings in a different concept. What I enjoyed probably the most thought, was the times Luke and Nikki shared together with Brie, they bonded as souls, as well as a family and realized they had a good thing going for them all, but would they allow their hearts to be open to this idea?

Beautifully written and amazing read. Pulled at all my heart strings as I read it, when I finished it and the story of Luke was completed, I was left wanting more, as the characters were a impactful and delight to read about. I was content with the story’s end though, no doubt on that one! I just had such a good time reading this, it was a must read for sure. Highly recommend this book, and have your tissues near by!

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Wendy Wary

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sofia is a fashionista who also happens to belong to a prominent family of the mafia in Chicago. Enzo, the next in line to oversee his family’s place in the mafia, is a childhood friend who pulled away after a tragic event involving his sister and the Russian mafia. The two are reunited after a looming threat to Sofia’s safety, sparks fly as the two rekindle a friendship, and romance blossoms. But, they’re also dancing around an uncertain future together as Sofia holds tightly to a secret that could tear Enzo away from her forever.

This is a fast-paced, action filled book that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat; it hints at other secrets and puzzles that are likely to be revealed and solved through the remainder of the series without leaving you hanging with regards to the main plot line. Definitely a series I look forward to continuing, as I’m completely invested in the characters and overall story line.

Caught in Midnight Shadows (The Caught Series Book 4) by Sharleen Scott – Review by Lorrene Huisman

Caught in Midnight Shadows (Caught series, #4)Caught in Midnight Shadows by Sharleen Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a must read for me, it was so well written and defiantly had a strong engagement of the characters that made me invest even more into reading the novel! I loved the story line, as I am a hopeless romantic, but I also love my thrillers, and this one had all that and more! Loved this novel!

I was really hooked at the start, Aubrey and Brant’s meet up was one for the books, literally! You could sense the chemistry and the attraction between the two of them upon first meet. It was for sure, undeniable, even if both characters did not want to admit to it at first glance. Both were coming from a different path of life, and did not want any sort of romance of any kind at this points in their lives. Perhaps though, life would play its part and bring these two souls together? Things happen that relate more less with Brant and his mothers conversation at the very beginning. What ties would that bring in though? As the depth of the story continues on, it gets very real and fast. I am not just taking of passion and romance either, there was someone at prowl that meant to cause harm to people, and to stop the person, as well as protect one another, Aubrey and Brant would have to rely on one another, truly.

For myself, I loved the quick speed of how this story takes off. I loved the small town romance components to this story as well, and I defiantly loved the danger, defiantly added to the character development and the bond they had, mentally and intimately. I did love the character development and how you really got to grow with Brant and Aubrey, but for me I especially loved the component of sometimes life does not go the way you planned, but it turns out even better! Again, loved this book!

Again, for me this was a novel I very much enjoyed, and I will be re-reading it in the future again for sure. How could I not? It was so thrilling and had lights of it it’s own intrigue. It was a good read, that brought on the wonderful romantic aspect as well as romantic suspense. This novel is a must read, no doubt!

The Groomsman (Unexpected Series – Book 2) by Marina Hanna – Review by Amy Brennan

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have only been to a few weddings in my lifetime, and the latest one was with my partner to celebrate the union of his brother, and his brother’s wife. He was the best man, and I will just say that we would have put Lauren and Mark to shame! These thoughts assisted in picturing and imagining the relationship evolving from a one-night stand between Mark and Lauren, to much, much more than that. The energy and respect between these two is electric.

Marina Hanna’s writing pulls you into this complicated love story, but also allows you to get to know the characters within and be able to sympathize and feel the emotions felt by all involved. I not only felt for Mark and his struggle to balance both the most private part of his life, along with dating life, but also for Lauren, who was kept in the dark for far too long. I did feel as though some of the issues they came across could have been put to bed much sooner in the book, but overall, it was a great read. I’m a big fan of Ms. Hanna’s style, and look forward to reading more by her. Thank you!

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Wendy Wary

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Told from the alternating perspectives of Max and Liliana, this book tells the story of an American mafia princess whose father only sees her value in how he can marry her off for his best financial gain or benefit. Max is her father’s newest hire with a secret agenda of his own.

When the two decide to become allies against Liliana’s father, things get explosive. Sprinkled with cartel interference, a commission with the Sicilian mafia, and figuring out who can be trusted in the other four American mafia families running Chicago, the pair have their work cut out for them while a romance blossoms between them and a marriage contract looms overhead.

This action-packed novel has a little bit of everything, with smart characters, original writing and a story that’s nearly impossible to put down. Can’t wait to see what’s in store with the other books in this series.

LUKE (DEFAULT DISTRACTION #4) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Bethany Rollins

Luke (Default Distraction #4)Luke by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I just completed Luke(Default Distraction Book 4) by A.S. Roberts and while I did enjoy the storyline and premise, I had some difficulty staying engaged with the main characters. I read this because of the nanny factor and I was slightly miffed that there was lack of Nikki’s actual job happening. She is hired by Luke to help care for his daughter, Brielle, but Brielle always seems to be going off with the other adults and Nikki is left with Luke to have their love affair. We do get glimpses of her actually caring for Brielle, but it was far and few in between. I guess I was just put off by this.
Nikki and Luke do seem made for each other, Luke being a rockstar who Nikki has been in love with since her teenage years. They have their meet-cute and the story follows their love story. I did enjoy the supporting characters, especially Nikki’s family. I did wish to get more information about her family but I was able to grasp that they were a tight knit group. I enjoyed the other band members in the story as well.
I did not read the other three books prior to this installment and not sure if I will go back to them or not. The main pull on this book to draw me in just didn’t live up to my expectations but I would recommend to others to read it, but maybe start with the first in the series and it will be more of an enticing read.

Ashes of Aldyr (The Obscured Throne Trilogy Book 1) by Russell Archey – Review by Ayla Eddy

Ashes of AldyrAshes of Aldyr by Russell Archey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ashes of Aldyr by Russell Archeyis the first book in The Obscure Throne trilogy. This was my first read by this author and it will not be my last. The world they create with their writing draws you in from the first page to the last page. I could not put the book down as I just needed to know what was going to happen next.

The story starts off in the middle of action in an event known as “The Rupture” giving the reader a sense of what they are reading. The characters are as unique as the tale itself. As you read you get different views that all lead back to the original event. What was once done in the past to seal away darkness behind 55 seals, but now those many of those seals are broken and the fate of the world is in danger. It is a dark fantasy that does not disappoint.

5 ++++++++ Stars

I loved this book so much! Correction, I loved both books in this series so much!! This author sits in the top of my absolute favorites of all time and I will read anything by her, no questions asked. I am a true time travel super fan. I have always been super picky about them and many have not held up to a couple movies I’ve watched and the super famous time travel series that made it to tv. Until now!

Awesome story, that had me guessing almost all the way through. I kept going back and forth on what I thought would happen and what I hoped would happen. I am so glad this author decided to take the leap into this genre, I enjoyed every single word and had so many emotions throughout. I will have these on my bookshelf, and will reread them probably many times in the future.

The connection between Phillip and Kat was amazing. It was built to seem real and I already miss them and will have a hard time getting into another book for a day or two.

Not giving anything away, so I will stop here and stress that these two books are everything, you seriously have to get them and experience this journey and the phenomenal writing style of this author!!

Deserves so many more than 5 stars!

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Lisa Helmick

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another heart stopping story in this series. It is filled with everything I come to expect from this author and a mafia story. Undying love, devotion and of course some blood, war and backstabbing between everyone. We dive deeper Into the life of Sofia and her thoughts of Enzo. The relationship between Sofia and Enzo goes back years but has recently faltered. Their connection is electric and can easily be felt coming off the pages. Her family is the best and seemingly the most “normal”. They are a joy to watch between protectiveness and family changes. I love seeing all the families again and smile at all their secrets!

I enjoy how this author drops tidbits of possible future stories interwoven into each story. I read this quickly and look forward to the next in the series!

Luke by A.S. Roberts a stunning five-star read. This is number four in the Default Distraction series and just like the other three stories, this one deserves chef kisses. I love everything this author writes and Luke just had that something extra. Getting to know Luke and his history the depth and emotion of his story just blew me away. Then when you add Nikki and her family history, it becomes an explosive five-star read. One that will enamour you to the story and make you fall in love with both of them. This was a great story and one that everyone needs to read, do not miss this amazing series.

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley-Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley is a mafia romance with a tad bit of suspense.

Tragic events brought them together, and tragic events separated them. Enzo Vitale, the heir to the throne of the Chicago Mafia, would go to any length to keep Sofia safe, but his presence in her life makes her a target. He must safeguard the love of his life at all costs, even if it means keeping away from her, which goes against his entire nature. Sofia La Rosa, a young fashion designer, has been in love with her closest friend for years. Even when a wall of secrets grows between them, she’ll sacrifice anything for Enzo. Secrets, on the other hand, do not remain hidden indefinitely. When Sofia’s role in a previous cover-up is discovered, the adversary is out for blood, leading her to the very guy who promised to be her rescuer at any cost.

. I loved this story and the concept of it as well. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This author has quickly become my favorite and I can’t wait to read more.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers Book 2) by Belinda Williams – Review by Jenny See

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book deserves more than 5 stars! This is the perfect contemporary romance. It is hilarious yet heartfelt. Spoilsport can be read as a standalone but is book 2 in the Pierce Brothers Series. You don’t need to read book 1 (Mr. Nice Guy) but I recommend it. I absolutely loved getting to know Luke and Nadia’s story but also catching up with Tom and Chelsea from Book 1. Luke is a single dad with a big heart, who’s ex-wife gives him a hard time. Nadia is a nurse who doesn’t believe in love because of her parents failed marriage. Esme (Luke’s daughter) is my new favorite character, she is an awesome kid and helps the story in so many ways. I can’t wait until the other two books of this series come out! Seth’s story will be released in 2022.

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer (Curvy Ever After Book 2) by Stephanie Harrell – Review by Angela Hayes

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer (Curvy Ever After, #2)Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer by Stephanie Harrell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer is the first book in the Curvy Ever After series by Stephanie Harrell. This story is a contemporary romance with a fairytale feel. As this author is new to me, I really didn’t know what to expect from her work, but I thought it could be a fun story and clicked a copy to jump into for a couple of hours.
I found I was right; this was a fun story to read- with fully developed characters who were both interesting and endearing, I was cheering them on from the beginning.
Movie star holiday fling leads to surprise pregnancy. What happens when he finds out? Will it draw him closer, or drive him away? Is there any chance of a future together, or will fame and meddling put the brakes on any chance they might have had for a HEA? If you want to find out how this story ends, then you really should pick up a copy and read all the intriguing developments for yourself.
Sweet. Sexy. Entertaining.

Thank you, Stephanie Harrell!

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Beverly Finnie

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amy McKinley, what am I going to do with you? You have me hooked! I enjoyed Lil and Max’s story, however I don’t even think it compares to Enzo and Sofia’s story in Blood Oath.
As children Sofia and Enzo made a blood oath to one another to always keep each other safe. Now as adults that blood oath holds a lot more meaning.
Love for one another that they dare to act on. I get it, in a sense been there done that but at the same time, that man is now my husband. So I can relate to how she wrote the characters in a way.
When love is involved secrets can threaten to destroy the whole thing, especially when those secrets are now what has Sofia’s life in danger! Sofia has to choose the best way to go about those secrets, because she could lose everything she holds dear.
Get ready for a wild ride! Passion and connection to one another neither can deny. There’s so many characters in these books, when’s book 3 coming out? If that’s very much so, I can’t wait for who and what Amy McKinley writes about next in this series.

Red’s Peril Part 1: The making of an MC Prez (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter) by Manda Mellett- Review by Lauren West

Red's Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez (Satan's Devils MC Vegas #1)Red’s Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have become a big fan of Manda Mellett and the MC worlds she continues to create. I have become invested in every story of hers I have had the pleasure of reading, and I must say that Red’s tale is by far my favorite. Every MC member has their own unique story, and of course their own unique characteristics that add to each story.
Red’s book was unexpected and intense. You get a very intimate glimpse of the gorgeous redheaded man behind the façade we have become accustomed to. His story is deep and your heart hurts for him soo much. Love, loss, and devastation are the constant swirl that fed a lot of Red’s emotions.
When he joined the Satan’s Devils MC that is when Red truly found himself and his place, but still missing that one true love that got away. This is a story is told only the way Manda Mellett can tell it, and its one that should not be missed. The end of book 1 shook me to my core, and book 2 cannot get here soon enough!

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer (Curvy Ever After, #2)Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer by Stephanie Harrell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great 5 star read. I really enjoyed this couple’s story.
Harper helps find antiques for her family antique shop, she really would love to travel in search of treasures. She ends up having a weekend fling that will change her plans.

Lincoln is an up and coming actor who’s new role will really put him in the spotlight. While at his beach house for a break, he is surprised to see Harper, the woman he had a weekend fling with. What’s most surprising is that she is pregnant.

Can they have a HEA? Or will fate have other plans for them?

Overall I really enjoyed this story. Who doesn’t dream about meeting a hot actor and getting a HEA? The chemistry these two had was great. You get steamy scenes, LOL moments and so much more. The author’s writing is great and pulls you right into the story. All of the characters added a great element to the story. This book is part of a series but you can read it as a stand alone. 1-click and get reading today.

What a sweet, endearing story that is right up my ally. I love a book that is holiday themed with love and family. We meet Liberty, who is driven in her career as a reporter. She works to achieve promotional goals. Liberty decides to investigate whom the “Secret Santa” is in town and she believe’s Sawyer Campbell is it. When Liberty interviews Sawyer to see if maybe he is the true town “Secret Santa”, sparks fly and my heart totally melts. Getting to know Sawyer, whom works with his father at a big company, he does not have time to enjoy the pleasures of life, he is all business. When Sawyer spends more time with Liberty, he really enjoys her company and getting to know her and her big family. Will Liberty find what she is looking for in her investigation for the promotion she has been working so hard to get? Or will the heart want what Liberty and Sawyer share their love for each other?

I love small town feel of this book. The story really made my heart swoon!

Red’s Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter Book 1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Michelle Collier

Red's Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez (Satan's Devils MC Vegas #1)Red’s Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Such a good book! Red is young and finally free from all his obligations so he sets out to discover what is put in the world for him. Never in a million years would he have thought when he left all he knew behind would he end up in a MC. I love Red so much! He is strong, determined, and haunted by what might have been. I can’t wait to read part 2!

Red’s Peril Part 1: The making of an MC Prez (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter) by Manda Mellett

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Mellett. Each of the Satan’s Devils books get better than the last. Red’s Peril is another great read.

Red leaves for Vegas. There he finds something he has seemed to be missing. Riding has always been his life so when the Satan’s Devils offer him a place, he takes it. The quote I chose for Red is: “Yeah. Been called it all my life. Barely remember the name I was born with. I have no idea why.”

Highly recommended for MC Romance lovers.

The Groomsman (Unexpected Series – Book 2) by Marina Hanna – Review by Angela Packard

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Unexpected Series, and is just as hot and steamy as the first one. You don’t need to read the first book to enjoy this book, but after you are done, you may want to!
A one night stand between Mark and Lauren lead to an ongoing friends with benefits relationship. Lauren wants more from the relationship. Mark has a secret that very few people know the details of. Can Mark get over his “no relationship” attitude? Or will he ruin any chance him and Lauren could have?
The chemistry between Mark and Lauren makes the pages sizzle. I enjoyed the story and character development. Marina Hanna writes a story that you sit back and get engrossed in their world.

Caught in Midnight Shadows (The Caught Series Book 4) by Sharleen Scott – Review by Kerry Baker

Caught in Midnight Shadows (Caught series, #4)Caught in Midnight Shadows by Sharleen Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Caught in Midnight Shadows by Sharleen Scott is the fourth book in the Caught Series. This a great book that is definitely all about the characters. They are are engaging and relatable right from the word go. I easily bought in to the connect between them. The whole story focused on them and for me it added more depth to the whole book.
The story itself was quite an easy read but one that is thoroughly enjoyable. I loved the easy pace it had and I found no problem in juts losing myself in the book for an afternoon. This is a great story that is worth the read.

Love’s Reverie (The Stardust Duet, Book 2) by KG Fletcher – Review by Jenni Bishop

Love's Reverie (The Stardust Duet, #2)Love’s Reverie by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love’s Reverie by K.G. Fletcher is the second book in The Stardust Duet and one I have been waiting for. I fell in love with the first book and this one did not disappoint. It is a fantasy romance. This duet is about time travelling and romance which is a little different than what we usually see KG write but it is a wonderful heart felt story. KG’s narrative makes it so easy to get lost in the story and imagine what she sees when she puts her words to the page to make the story come to life. I can actually see this epic tale being made in to a movie or series, that’s how good it is. I enjoyed that the story was woven between two timelines and told in dual POV’s giving it that little bit extra something. This delightful duet should not be missed out on.
