This was such a fun cozy mystery. I have personally never read anything from this author before but after reading this one I can’t wait for book two. The characters are amazing, the plot was original and has a little bit of everything for everyone, and the paranormal aspect was just perfect. While it was a cozy mystery that didn’t stop me from flipping the pages as fast as could to solve the mystery with Bob. So if you’re looking for a great new mystery don’t look any further.
Declan has loved Renee since they were children. Renee felt the same way…but that was before she was kidnapped and sold into sex slavery. Renee was taken away from her family and friends for nearly three years. During those long years, she never lost hope that she’d be rescued somehow, even through all of the Once Renee is rescued and returns home, she sets off to start trying to reclaim her life even though she is constantly afraid, at first, of doing that very thing. With Declan by her side, she eventually gains more confidence and begins to feel like she can manage not just her life, but possibly even a physical relationship with Declan. After everything she’s been through, Renee and Declan deserve the happily ever after that they are finally able to find.

This book is easily my favourite in the series so far. I loved the connection between the main characters, their chemistry was just so real and could be felt in every interaction. You could see their story unfolding as the book developed and I loved watching every minute of it. I thought the story was well written and flowed really well. I was caught up in the story and wanted to see how things would work out in the end. Each book in this series had had got better and added so much to it. I can’t wait to see what is next.

This is a brilliant example of a fantasy book that would appeal to readers of all genres. The author has created a story that is clearly fantasy but it is done in a subtle and creative way. I loved the main character to the book. She was feisty and interesting in a way that makes you sit up and pay attention to her. This is an author that I have become familiar with over the last couple of years and I am yet to find a book of hers that I don’t enjoy. She doesn’t’ seem afraid to try new things and to push the expectations of the reader. This was a brilliant book and a great start to a new series.

They think Jasper is what they need to find that balance. But they must teach her how to use her powers for good. This will become quit the test of their wits. Can they teach Jasper what she needs to know in order to find a balance between light and dark?
This author has written this book with teens in mind. She blends split personalities with puberty. Teen girls and boys will relate with the struggles viewed in this story. While this is just fantasy, the struggles will be real. The story is fantastic as well as fun to read. Scary at times but such a page turner. The author keeps it real in her book, real enough teens and young adults can relate. Job well done! Looking forward to reading more of your books.

Order of Vespers by Elyse Reyes is a very unique book. The story was original and something I haven’t heard before, so I was definitely into it.
Jasper Andrews is the main character, and she can’t seem to catch a break. The poor girl deals with one crisis after another, due to the special powers she has. She has this special ability with fire and at first, I think she’s a little off but, because of her powers she has a “friend” that talks to her. Jasper is told she is going to be sent away from her family. Once separated from her family she is on the run from the police for a few days, as she kind of blew up the police station where she was being held as a suspected murderer.
While on the run she is caught by people who claim they can help her, and they are just like her. There she finds out she is part of an organization called Order of Vespers and they she will be the one responsible to save humankind.
Jasper tries to adapt to the turn her life has taken and makes a group of people that she can finally call friends in her hectic lonely life. Mikael is the one she is closest to because he has the same power as her and Jordy, who shows her defensive moves and how to control her anger so her power isn’t released unnecessarily.
Soon it feels like everyone is conspiring against Jasper in a weird turn of events that gets her almost killed. She comes to find out their compound is under attack and she realizes it is now up to her to save everyone she has come to care about.
This book is very fantastic with the characters and their special powers, and the storyline. I was drawn in instantly and couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. I hope there will be another installment by this author, and I give this book 5 stars! This book seems geared more toward YA readers but as an adult I fell for this book!

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series, I was looking forward to Jude’s story, and I was not disappointed. Set within the Freemasons world, each book is about a different member, and so can be read as a standalone story, however, I would personally recommend reading them in order to get a better understanding of each characters backstory. Jude is a former SAS operative who has dedicated his time to finding his sister, Renee who went missing. That included putting his dating life on hold, even though the chemistry between him and Sienna is undeniable. When Jude and his friends finally get a lead on Renee, it means using Sienna as bait. Sienna Townsend perfected the art of changing both her appearance and personality whilst in the military. She now needs to use all her skills to save Renee and help Jude, who she’s also falling for. When those who were fooled by Sienna attempt to get revenge and put her life in danger, it’s time for Jude to use his warrior instincts to keep her safe. I was hooked from page one and was kept happily turning the pages late into the night, as I couldn’t put the book down. I was yet again immersed in the Freemasons world though the descriptive narrative, which brought both the setting and characters to life. The chemistry between Jude and Sienna sizzled off the page and I was hoping they would get their HEA. An enjoyable and engaging read, and I look forward to book four.

This book was very entertaining. I could not put it down once I started. The author kept me wanting more and more with each page turn. The characters were developed beautifully. All the elements that were in this book made it unforgettable. I will definitely be reading more in this series.

I enjoyed the premise of this book as well as the characters. I thought the spice level was *chef’s kiss* and sprinkled generously throughout the book. However, the writing left much to be desired. I felt rushed and then there were extreme jumps in time and the characters were wishy-washy (more so than they needed to be). It’s really hard to explain and put into words how I felt about this book. Like I said, I really liked the premise and the plot line and the characters, I just don’t think it was fully flushed out. I will say that the twist at the end was a complete shocker and I thoroughly enjoyed it! There are actually 2 twists…I liked the main twist…the other twist felt forced and I didn’t think it actually needed to be there. That happened too throughout the book…things happened that really didn’t need to be included. Now let’s get into the story. This is a very quick read, which I always appreciate. I (mostly) loved the characters of Devlin and Eve. I feel like Parker could have maybe flushed Devlin’s character out a little more. We get to see a lot of Eve’s “why” and in time we do get to see Devlin’s but I think his could have been flushed out more. I did really enjoy the interactions between Devlin and Eve; especially when Devlin would get Eve all flustered. Their spicy interactions were off the charts hot and well done! I would recommend this book with the caveat that there’s just something about the writing that just doesn’t sit quite right with me.

This was an interesting story to read and I love how the you feel the presence of music and lyrics all through the book. It is a romance build around a music studio and all the goings on that happen there but at the same time there are also other little stories running alongside and it all joins together beautifully.
I really love Annie’s character. She is a very strong and determined woman. She has a passion for music and a talent for singing which her ex husband tried to stop but in this story she is trying to make her comeback all while organising a songwriting contest with 2 people who hate each other and fighting her ex husband for custody of their son. These sides of Annie really help to show her as a real person and not just a character in a story.
The romance between her and Robbie is a very slow burner but it’s beautiful to see and read. I loved Robbie’s character but I feel he needed a bit more backbone especially around Cat. Cat terrifies him lol.
But these 3 people need to work together to make this songwriting contest a success but will that be easy with all the other things and situations happening around them?

I like when I find a new author. I really enjoyed this mystery book as it is paranormal based. I like how the author is able to grab the reader and keep their attention. I really like the character development and story. The twist with how the lead character is related to the realm really added to the story. I really enjoyed how easy this was to read and that there was just enough drama and mystery. The characters have such a great chemistry and I did not want to put this book down. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
I absolutely fell in love with this book. Renee was rescued and this is her story along with Declan’s. You feel every minute of Renee’s emotions as she is adjusting back to a free life. Declan has been in love with her for a long time and he will wait for her. He is her safe place/ He is her person. Out of everyone, he is the one she trusts and goes to. Renee goes to Hell and is partially back. She and Declan have a long journey ahead but Renee is determined not to let her fear take hold. You have to read this book. It really is an incredible story. All the characters from the previous books are in here. The author ties the book up nicely. The storylines tie up and flow smooth. That ending…..BAM! I didn’t see that coming. Renee is a fierce woman that just needed to remember to believe in herself. An amazing book! I would have given it more than 5 stars if I were able to.

I love a good cozy with some paranormal touches. Missing gnomes, Bigfoot, fairies, werewolves….the town of Mysty Haven sounds like a perfect place for a mystery. Bob is on the hunt for Charlie, the missing gnome. He has the wildest misadventures trying to find him. I wonder will I was reading if he didn’t just want to pinch himself and ask if this was real. The story has all the elements of the perfect cozy and more. The plot will have you rolling right off your chair. The characters are very entertaining. I enjoyed this book and hope to see more from this author.
This super talented author just keeps weaving completely captivating stories time after time. The 3rd book in this fantastic series sees Jude and Sienna come to together during very emotional and action packed times. There is a very important part to the storyline that has been building during the first two books of the series that comes to a very happy conclusion but I don’t want to say too much as it will give too many spoilers away. All I can really say is please do yourself a favour and get reading this amazing series!!! I can’t wait to read the next book, actually I am off to start it now!! LOL

I enjoyed reading this historical adventure story. This is the second book in this series which I enjoyed just as much as the first. This is a well written story where the characters take you on an adventure of spies. An adventure where you don’t know who to trust and a determination to complete the mission. I enjoyed how the author used details to bring the story to life. The characters not only pulled you in from the start but kept me engaged to the end. The twists and turns had me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. There is great growth of the plot which makes the story easy and entertaining to read. I really enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. I highly recommend this book.

Dominic Cacciari is there to try to shift Gemma away from their secrets and find out some info of his own. When they realize what Gemma is holding and how dangerous it can be, Dom decides instead of trying to seduce her, he will protect her as much as possible. Of course lines are blurred and they cannot fight their attraction to eachother. Gemma is a strong character and I never thought she could fall for Dom seducing her but, the chemistry is just to much to ignore. When the full truth is out, how will Dom and his brotherhood react to the news? Gemma finds herself In a situation that she may not be able to handle. She’s out trying to uncover what she thinks will ruin the guys but she has it all wrong and she’s holding important information that can end up getting her in deeper then she ever imagined. I absolutely loved this series. Each book is better then the last. The characters are all amazing. The plot is great and there’s plenty of heat to keep the reader waiting to see what happens next.

I enjoyed this thrilling ghost story. This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the start. This is one of my favorites by this author yet. This is a shorter story that packs a punch in the edge sitting suspense. A well written creative story that I read in one sitting. A story about Elinor and her search for her father’s killer and what she finds to get into along the way. This is a great engaging story that you don’t want to miss. The characters had me coming back for more and I can’t wait for the next installment of this series. A great story that I highly recommend. A must read.
This is an absolutely adorable story about a little place called Mysty Haven. A place where those creatures that are not human live. It is in this city that Bob McLarney accepted a job to be a journalist for the Mysty Haven Weekender. However, this does not go well for Bob as he writes his article on Bigfoot instead of what he had been sent to report on. Not everyone seems to agree about his take on Bigfoot. After this fail Bob takes his skills to another effort…finding a missing gnome. Sticking to the task at hand, even when the police suspect him, Bob never gives up on finding the missing gnome. What deep dark mystery will Bob discover in finding the gnome?
This was a cute mystery novel that I highly enjoyed reading. The story was written to keep you flipping the pages to solve the mystery with Bob. If you are looking for a cute mystery read I would highly recommend this book!
Sienna runs the parklite shelter they have for at risk kids. She’s amazing at her job and the guys couldn’t think of a better person to help the kids find their footing in the world again. Sienna and Jude both have feelings towards one another but neither is willing to act on those feelings. Jude refuses to be happy until Renee is found safe and unharmed. When they get Intel on where Renee possibly is, they work up a plan of extraction. Jude of course will be part of that mission. His sister being taken has caused him so much grief and he refuses to be left out of this. However when it is suggested that Sienna be brought In undercover to get eyes inside, Jude loses his mind and doesn’t want Sienna anywhere near that place. Sienna is military trained and she can handle anything thrown her way….can’t she? Sienna agrees right away. What will happen when Sienna gets inside? Will she find Renee? Will Renee even trust her or think she’s planted there? The last time she thought she was being rescued it couldn’t be further from the truth. I really love this series and all these characters. Of course these 4 books focus on 4 best friends / partners so they are all mentioned in each of the books. Definitely love everything about this series….the suspense, The Action, the chemistry and of course the plot. Each books seems like they lead up to the final. Cannot wait to see how this ends. Another 5+ star read.

Better Gnomes & Gardens (Mysty Haven Mystery Book 1) is a fun Paranormal/ Cozy Mystery. I truly enjoyed the story and found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t stop reading until I finished. This is the perfect book to cozy up with on a rainy day. I love this authors style of writing and attention to detail. The storyline flowed and I loved the characters. This story will take you on a cute little adventure to a Town called Mysty Haven where things aren’t quite what they seem. Bob is a news reporter who finds himself without a job after writing a story which wasn’t assigned to him. He finds himself in the town of Mysty Haven investigating a missing gnome. Will he dig up the truth of the missing gnome ? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Its definitely worth the read and im looking forward to reading more from this Author.
Devlin by Angela K. Parker is the first book that I have read by this author, so I was curious to see what she could do. This is a great office romance- a frenemies to lovers situation that sees a forbidden relationship, jobs on the line, secrets, drama, angst, chemistry, steam, and emotion. Devlin and Eve are co-workers who are both focused on their corporate careers. With promotion up the corporate ladder in sight, these two have their work cut out for them. But things heat up as their chemistry bubbles over into their workplace. Giving in to their attraction will put their jobs on the line- is taking a chance on love worth the risk? After She Became a Lady by Wareeze Woodson is an historical romance woven with plenty of period detailing and descriptions, drama, danger, mystery, jealousy, angst, and interesting characters. As with the other book of Ms. Woodson’s that I have read, this historical romance is written in the ‘old school style’- keeping true to the language, terminology, social norms, and style of the era, which can take a chapter or two to ‘settle’ into for some readers. While I did enjoy the story, I was a little disappointed that I didn’t love it as much as I was hoping to. There was so much potential here for quite a stellar historical romance, but unfortunately it didn’t meet my expectations. There were quite a few issues that pulled me out of the story, which was frustrating. I was so disappointed that all the wonderful tension and intrigue that was built through the story, with one of the main threads being the whole ‘mystery’ aspect, which made me feel like we were heading towards something momentous- so when the ‘revelation’ finally came it seemed very abrupt and somewhat of a ‘let-down’ as everything was ‘solved’ and explained away in less than a page- so, pretty much brushed over.…. which was very underwhelming. Also, there were a lot of details that were thrown into the story that didn’t really build or contribute to the story in anyway, except perhaps as fillers/padding/red-herrings- which was also a source of frustration for me. There was a lot of repeated information/details which disrupted the flow of the story, and times where the story slows so much that it lost all momentum, while the last part of the story, and ending, felt incredibly rushed. I love Ms. Woodson’s story ideas and her attention to historical details, and her characters are always very intriguing, so I am interested to see what she will do next. Happy Reading…

I love a good sci-fi film that delves into the unexpected and unknown! Thomas and April are quite the duo and their adventures prove this unknown is nothing as was expected. It’s fun, vivid, and captures your interest from start to finish. The author did a great job of leading you in and peaking your interest. There is definitely more to tell and I am eager to be apart of it.

Better Gnomes & Gardens is the first book in the Mysty Haven Mystery series, and debut novel, by Casey Cardel. This is a fun paranormal cozy mystery with a well-woven plot full of magical realism, crime & investigation, intrigue, humour, action, suspense, drama, and wonderfully quirky characters. I loved the character development of the story, as Ms. Cardel has skilfully crafted her characters into fully realised individuals, who really made this story come to life. They were all so quirky, which definitely added an extra element of interest to the story. The story was such a fun introduction to Ms. Cardel’s writing, and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of her work in the future. If this is what she can do as her debut, the future certainly looks bright. Happy Reading…
Master Catteneo is the fifth book in the Masters of the Consulate series by Sylvia Black. This fantastic paranormal romance series just gets better and better with each new addition. I gave up trying to pick my favourite, as they are all so good. This is definitely a series to sink your teeth into- especially if you love paranormal romance, vampire, romantic suspense, and plenty of steam. And the best part is that there are 12 books planned for the series…. which means more sexy vampires to love…. WOOT! Again, we’re thrust into an underworld society with lots of action, supernatural elements, politics, magic, danger, tension, intrigue, drama, emotion, dramatic developments, challenges, and masterful world-building…… Oh, and did I mention VAMPIRES!!!!! I highly recommend reading the other books in the series before beginning this one. Because even though you could read this as a standalone, as each book in the series focuses on its own separate couple, there are, however, some interconnected details as well as recurring characters that span the series- so this is why I really recommend reading from the beginning so you know what’s happened right from the start. I feel that each book contains juicy information that would help you to better appreciate this book, as well as the series as a whole. Bring on Book Six!!! Can’t wait!!! Happy Reading…

This is book one in the Mystery Haven series and I loved it! Starting out with mention of the legendary Bigfoot, this story already captured my curiosity. Bob is a character I could get behind and cheer on as he agrees to solve the mystery of the missing gnome. The owner of the gnome, Doug, had me cracking up with his sarcasm right away. This is a wonderful debut cozy mystery. I look forward to book two!
