I LOVED this story. I want soooo much more. Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan was a beautiful story. Karalyn was a great character. She was a strong and relatable woman and a great mom. Dez was kind of a jerk after Karalyn was forced away from him when they were teens. Sometimes young love dies and sometimes it can be rekindled. But of course this love story is complicated. A baby, a ruthless family, some secrets and some grudges all keep these two apart for too many years. The story has all the good stuff packed into it: friendship, heartbreak, romance, forgiveness. I was happy to have read this book. It read fast and kept my attention the whole time. I cannot wait to read the next story as I must know what happens with these characters and with Quinn!!!!

Michelle Sullivan’s Our Next Chapter is a contemporary romance. This novel was a page turner through and through. Michelle’s style of writing easily captures the reader within the story and holds it while she shares a captivating story of ups and downs, loss and growth, regrets and aspirations with a second chance. I fell in love with the main characters as I was reading this story and thoroughly enjoyed how this author paces the story and showcases character growth and development. Karalyn and Dez are the quintessential high school couple where everything that could part them falls into place with their lives now set on separate paths. This story was a piece of literary art.

I’ve enjoyed other stories by this author and was looking forward to reading OUR NEXT CHAPTER after reading the blurb.
This is a well constructed story that ran a little long because of all of the drama. Second chances can be hard when there are outside influences.
While I liked both main characters, there was something about each of them that bothered me. I didn’t have as much of an emotional connection with then as I thought I would. Don’t get me wrong, it is an enjoyable story and had very distinct plot points. I also liked the friendships and sibling relationships in the story.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan. This is the story of Karalyn and Dez. They met as kids and became best friends right away. As they became older they became boyfriend/girlfriend and fell head over heels. Dez’s parents never really approved of Karalyn because she was a little older and not as well off as them. When Karalyn’s family has to move away when she is 17 because her mom got a job 2 hours away they are both heartbroken. After she moves away she finds out she’s pregnant so she tries to get in touch with Dez but her parents put a stop to it. Heartbroken for all those years she raises their daughter Quinn the best she knows how and does a wonderful job. Quinn is almost 17 when Dez appears back in Karalyn’s life and she’s not sure whether to trust him or not especially with Quinn. She realizes she has always been in love with him and he realizes he’s always been in love with her but she has really hard feelings towards him because of the way things were left. Will she be able to trust him again especially with the most precious thing in her life? Will Dez try to get back in Karalyn’s life and realize he’s the dad of a beautiful, smart almost 17 year old? This is a sweet and sexy second chance romance. I highly recommend it!

This was a gripping and sweet second chance romance novel from Michelle Sullivan. I have read some of her other novels before but this one stands out as my favorite so far. I recommend grabbing your favorite cup of coffee or tea, eh maybe a glass of wine, and curling up with this little gem. If you are anything like me you will want to read this in one fell swoop.
Karalyn and Dez, I adored these two, these two were not hard to fall in love with. I wasn’t so sure at first, things seemed a bit too perfect. Then the perfect balance of realism hit them and they were forced to face it. Spending seventeen years a part may very well make the idea of seeking any kind relationship, friend or more, terrifying all together. When they are thrust back into each other’s lives though they are forced to face it. What will happen when all of the past comes rushing back? Will it destroy any shot at a second chance for them? Or can they find the will to push through all the feelings and hurt to have that future together they always dreamed of?

Karalyn and Dez met as children, and started dating in Jr. High School. Karalyn was positive Dez was the man she would have babies and grow old with, even though she was 2 years older than him. Life intercepted her plans, and just before she graduated High School, her mom received a job offer and Karalyn needs to move away. At that point in time, the young lovers vow to find a way to make a long distance relationship work, however sometimes our plans fail. The day Karalyn moves is the last time she sees Dez … until 17 years later.
Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a very sweet second chance novel. You will be shocked and angry. You will feel sympathetic and sad. You will say Awwww. And you will laugh. I found it to be a very quick read and give it 5 stars! Sullivan is a new to me author and I’m looking forward to exploring more novels by her.

Our Next Chapter Michelle Sullivan 4 out of 5 stars
Our Next Chapter is one of those stories you just feel at home reading. As Karalyn and Des both return to their hometown you can’t help but feel like you’re returning to an old familiar place as well. I enjoyed the storyline and felt like it flowed well with relatable, likeable characters that carried the story well. Our Next Chapter has a similar feel to a couple of my favorite love stories but it didn’t feel as though the storyline was one that was overdone it was familiar and unique all at once. I am really looking forward to reading Quinn’s story in the future, I felt that she was a strong supporting character in this story.

Karalyn and Dez had a great, lasting love, but are torn apart. Some stories may seem over, but really they are just on pause. This is the case for Karalyn and Dez. I love a good second chance love story, and this was a great second chance love story. I’m glad that I read it, and I think you won’t be disappointed if you give it a try!
Karalyn has a great personality that is both sweet and spicy. Dez is overall a great guy who is willing to learn from mistakes and is at a point where he is ready to fight for his love and family. I also really liked Quinn. This character has so much personality! I love that she is willing to be straight up and is hilarious in doing so! Michelle Sullivan is giving Quinn her own story, and I cannot wait!!

5 out of 5 stars Our next chapter written by Michelle Sullivan is an amazing love story about misunderstanding, love at a young age that lasts a lifetime and new beginnings and secrets. I had so many different emotions reading this book I laughed cried and I was also pissed at what the main characters had to go through, but they were strong and made it. The characters Karalyn and Dex are amazing and well written and I could relate to Karalyn on some level. They became best friends in elementary school. They fell in love in high school. They were soul-mates, with their future planned and nothing to stop them. Sounds perfect, right? WRONG…not every love story ends with happily ever after. She hated Dex the boy who broke her heart but she can’t stop loving him. It’s been 17 years since she’s been home; now she’s back and that boy who she tried to hate for so long is promising her a future again. But Can Karalyn trust Dex again? Is he for real that he didn’t know anything and that he was trying to protect her? Is it possible to put the past behind them after so many years of pain? Can they begin another love story that never really ended? Or is it better for both of them to finally let go for good and close that chapter in their lives forever? I know my review is kind of vague but I didn’t want to give any of the secrets away but you really need to read this amazing book…. By Tracy review by @tracym

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan a five-star read you will love. This is a great second chance romance and yet another great read by this author, she is an author who has the talent to surprise you, as you start the story and its good, but slow burning and then you start to care about the characters and you start to really get to know them and then boom suddenly it’s become one of those books you cant put down and you have to finish, you have to read every page like it’s the last. Karalyn and Des have a great friendship and that runs through the story making it deeper and deeper, it’s the best type of friendship the one where you can go for ages without speaking and then pick up where you left off, it takes work but has a great base. Because of that this is a great story and you will adore it like an old friend.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a beautiful second chances romance that’s packed full of emotion. Ms. Sullivan weave’s a tale that encompasses heartbreak, betrayal, pain, anger, regrets, confronting the past, confusion, drama, trust, hope, passion, friendship, and love. I always know when reading one of Ms. Sullivan’s novels that my emotions are going to get a battering, and this story was no exception. Karalyn James and Desmond Madden (Dez) were inseparable as children, there isn’t a childhood memory that doesn’t contain the other. They would often talk about their future, dreaming and planning their lives together- with the expectation that they would eventually marry, have babies and grow old together. Their bond of friendship developed and grew over the years and eventually turned romantic, then blossomed into much more on the night of Karalyn’s Graduation. This was a pivotal moment for them- their love had been sealed for eternity- or so they thought at the time. Because of situations out of either of their control, Karalyn moves to San Francisco, which breaks both their hearts. The plan was always that Dez would join her there as soon as possible, but fate had other plans. His betrayal cuts deeply, shattering her heart into a million pieces and leaving her alone at a time when she needed him the most. Karalyn moves on with her life as best she can, but a large part of her is stuck in the past, still grieving the shock and loss. Seventeen years is a long time to be in denial, and a long time to spend avoiding your home town. But, here she is after all these years finally back in the town that holds all her painful memories. She didn’t think she’d ever return but eventually relented for her brother who’s throwing a party. She also thinks it might be a good time to also put the ghosts of her past to rest. But what she doesn’t expect is to have all those old feelings come rushing back the moment she arrives back in town. Having to confront her past again after all this time will test her on many levels. But ultimately, she discovers that she never really moved on at all and her heart had always belonged to Dez. What happens when they come face to face after so long? And what happens when their truths are laid bare? With deceit, betrayal and manipulation in the mix- will the real truth finally come out? Will these revelations unite them once again, or destroy any shred of love they had left? These characters were amazing- so realistic, relatable and believable. I was rooting for them fairly early on in the story. This story took me on quite the emotional journey, which is something Ms. Sullivan excels at. I felt their pain and heartbreak and couldn’t believe what they’d been through- especially when everything that happened when they broke up is fully revealed- I was shocked and hurt for them. There were definitely a couple of characters that I wanted to hit after finding out what happened!!! Another wonderful story from Ms. Sullivan. I am looking forward to reading Quinn’s story next in “Our Unexpected Hope”.

I love this story. The story line, the characters, the writing style, the adventure. I love it! Karalyn and Dez, childhood best friends turned high school sweethearts, turned enemies?!? But can they get back what was lost?!
There was a lot of heart ache in this story but from that heartache came their “next chapter”. Sullivan let Karalyn know every emotion possible. In turn we as the reader got to experience every emotion as well. While Karalyn learned how to live with heart break we felt her every pain. The love. We felt her anger. And denial. Every emotion Karalyn experienced thanks to Dez we felt it too.
This book was easy to follow and read. The villains were not the usual villains, but they were still easy to hate. And Karalyn proves to herself that she really doesn’t need Dez.
Sullivan breaks your heart during this story and then just as easily puts it together again.

I just finished this and oh my goodness…..I messed up and read Our Unexpected Hope first which was ok it did not mess anything up, and it was in reading Our Unexpected Hope that made me pick this one up like seconds after finishing. I can honestly say, I never like to go back and read a book when I pretty much already know the outcome of who was in that book. But in this case I had to. The characters of Dez and Karalyn..I don’t even have words for these two….I simply fell in love with both of them..Their story broke my heart more than once and they caused more than a few tears. I just don’t know what to say to give this book or this author the justice thats deserved. I can’t even tell you which one of these books I liked better because they were both simply awesome and I recommend them both. This author has a style about her writing that grabs you and doesn’t let go even after you read the last word.
I already want to read them both again and I will very soon and then I just know I will very soon after that. I loved them.
I will be one of the first in line for any and everything this author comes up with. Another one of those books that 5 stars just isn’t enough!

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a beautiful but sad contemporary romance story about second chances. Michelle’s writes a story that make you feel like you are a part of it. Emotions are real and raw because of those that deemed they knew better with secrets and lies, betrayal and hurt, threats and malice, loss and love, fears and uncertainty. Once I started this book I was unable to put it down until I had finished. My heart aches for what our characters went through and it hits home for what those of us who were young mothers and our own struggles. This story will take you on an emotional journey and is a definite page turner. The story is well thought out and beautifully written. These characters definitely hold a place in my heart. A job well done Michelle.
