Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack Book 1) by Nicole Howl – Review by Jamie Truex

Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack, #1)Claiming My Mate by Nicole Howl
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Claiming My Mate was definitely my kind of book. I loved how Lily’s character developed in this story. My only complaint is major things happen so quickly that I was left feeling a bit dizzy. I think had the author spent just a little more time explaining what was going on and just slowed it down a tad, it would have been better. It seemed like I was missing part of the story by starting with book 2. I’m absolutely going to look for a book two however, because I’m looking forward to reading more from Nicole Howl.

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla) by S.B. Alexander – Review by Megan Conley

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla, #1)The Hunted by S.B. Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book does NOT disappoint! From the smexy tension between Sam and Layla to the bond the Aberdeen sisters share to the supernatural aspect of the novel, S.B. Alexander keeps her readers on edge. With her well thought-out plot lines, character development, and descriptions, Alexander has her readers turning pages faster than vampire falls for vampire huntress. I absolutely love how Sam and Layla’s relationship develops over the course of this book, but it’s not overpowering. Alexander has put multiple plot lines in place and she does an excellent job of developing each at a pace that seems very appropriate. The spicy scenes are *chef’s kiss* amazing. They aren’t over-the-top nor are there too many or too few.

This is Sam & Layla Book #1 in the series and it does end on a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for Sam & Layla Book #2 to be released! It has made its way to the top of my TBR list! If you like romance, paranormal/supernatural, or are just looking for something different to read; definitely pick this book up and give it a shot…You won’t be disappointed!

Okay, so I didn’t know this was the second book of a series. But it was absolutely amazing and makes me want to go back and read the first one! This book caught my attention from the first page. That hardly ever happens! The character building of Abbey was amazing. I loved how she would do anything to protect her friends and family from going missing. She was just an overall great character and I loved her in this story.

Claiming My Mate was such a surprise to me! As a novella I was a little leery because sometimes novellas feel rushed, but this was a wonderful, complete story!! Forbidden Lovers is always an exciting trope but the draw they have to each other is so compelling!! He is quiet and stoic but catches her scent and BAM, we are off! Can these fated mates face the challenges that are in their way? I can’t wait to read what comes next!!

This is such a beautiful story about the power of true love. This is such an amazing love story. It blew me away! Zee has always been the fallen angel whispering in people’s ears urging them to be gluttons. He absolutely loves enjoying the excess through their bodies as he takes them as host. When he crosses paths with Clara everything changes. She’s so pure and sweet and everything starts to change for the both of them as they grow closer. This book has some very unexpected twists and turns and the ending absolutely took my breath away and made me tear up. This is a stunning story of redemption and the transformative power of true love that you will not want to miss!

This is the first book by this author and the first book in the series and I am hooked! The book surrounds Layla and her sisters and they are Vampire hunters who are from a long line of hunters. They have a bounty for Sam who is worth a lot of money and very valuable. When Layla and Sam first meet the chemistry is off the charts and sizzling. Their story was filled with many ups and downs and had my attention glued to the pages. I cannot wait until the next two books are released so that I may read and see what the future holds for Sam and Layla and the multitude of many other wonderful characters in this series.

Class Clown (Ghost Girl Series) by Allan Evans – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Class ClownClass Clown by Allan Evans
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Class Clown is a gripping YA horror story. Abbey has a history of paranormal experiences and starting a new high school hasn’t changed this. She’s doing her best to settle in and make friends, which would be much easier to do if inexplicable things didn’t keep happening to her and her new friends.
If you’re into clown-related horror, this is the book for you! There are clowns everywhere. At the circus, of course, but also in the school corridors, the mirrors, people’s selfies, the middle of the road… SO many clowns. If you’re scared of clowns, this isn’t the book for you (unless you enjoy being scared in which case it’s perfect for you!).
Abbey is a fun character, I like her inquisitive nature and obsession with 80s music! As well as being a ghost-magnet, she’s good at connecting with other people and builds a circle of friends, mainly from her soccer team, who join her in her attempts to save the school from the clown invasion.
Abbey’s story begins in another book, Abnormally Abbey. Class Clown makes sense on its own, and you get plenty of background information as we go along, but if you intend to read Abnormally Abbey I would recommend starting there to avoid spoilers.
This book gets five stars from me! I’d recommend it to fans of high school paranormal stories, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack Book 1) by Nicole Howl
5 Star Review
Claiming My Mate is the first book in this two-book series, Wolf Hollow Pack Series, by Nicole Howl. From the first page I was hooked and could not put this book down. Nicole Howl brings the wolves alive in a completely different way than I have ever read.
Jason is next in line to become Alpha and King of Wolf Hollow. Lily is a human slave to Jason’s family, the Wolf Hollow Royals, and just wants to go about the rest of her life unseen and complete her daily duties. But Goddess Leto has a different plan in mind.
Lily is caring and sweet and just wants a normal life. She feels bad for the humans, like her, who are being held captive to slave and serve the Wolf Hollow Royals.
Jason is strong, levelheaded compared to his father, King Huntington, and kind like Lily.
One day Jason’s wolf catches a scent that he is in love with and is trying to figure out where it came from, when he finally figures outs its Lily, a human, who also happens to be his mate, he must protect her from one of his fathers Royal Guard members who is trying to claim her as his mate.
Lily on the other hand just wants to be hidden in the shadows and doesn’t want anyone to know she even exist, that is, until her wolf peeks out and also want to claim her mate, Jason.
Will Jason and Lily survive what is to come and be able to live a happy life together, or will it be destroyed by King Huntington? I cannot wait to find out in book two!

Sam and Layla, 2 sworn enemies, but a steamy connection. Sam is a vampire SEAL and Layla comes from a long line of vampire hunters. After a mission gone wrong Layla finds herself in a tough spot in need of Sam. The chemistry between these to is hot from the start, but they have a common enemy so that have to keep it professional. The story keeps you interested too! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

I absolutely love Vampire romance novels. This was quite a refreshing and might I add good book. This author has such a unique story line and I was hooked from page one. I really like how the characters are not predictable and the chemistry is so explosive. I really got sucked right in.

Sam and Layla are very well written characters. I like how there is just the right mix of drama and romance and an underlying sense of the forbidden. I was drawn to the forbidden love and the cliff-hanger ending for book one really had me hungry for more. I cannot wait to read more from this series.

He is delightfully sinful but then again gluttony is his sin. He is one of the Seven Princes of Hell. Angels and Demons are on the verge of war. Demons are out in full force in this paranormal, romance story.
This delightful tale is unique and a pleasurable different read for a change. The characterisation and world building are done so well you are drawn into the shenanigans.
It is flirty and fun as we journey along whilst this demon shares what most can’t resist. That is until he comes across her. She is one he is determined to have. She has made him feel.
Now she is fighting for her soul and pulling out all the stops to resist his gluttonous ways.

Forbidden lovers, a girl who has no idea who or what she is and a Prince with many secrets.

Jump into this forbidden lovers tale which is a quick and intense read making you desperate to want to know more as its left on so many cliffs you arent even sure which one you need to know the answer to first!

My only complaint is I feel like I needed a little more development of characters… due to its short read the story felt rushed but I will certainly be interested to see if Author fills us in more in Book 2 because now I have to see how this plays out.

fair warning this is not a typical forbidden lovers romance there is some dark themes here that are not for the faint of heart!

Class Clown (Ghost Girl Series) by Allan Evans – Review by Amanda Gonzalez

Class ClownClass Clown by Allan Evans
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As a lover of all things paranormal and spooky, I was excited to read this book, even if I’m not the biggest fan of YA. This book was great! I love how Abbey is so independent and strong as a character, despite her young age. I’m sure I’m not the only person who has an aversion to clowns, but the story wove in the creepiness of the ‘spooks’ in a way that I was able to read through the book without having nightmares. As much as I love horror, clowns are a little too much for me, but this story had just enough of the shudder-factor in to make it YA-safe. The musical references and typical teen-drama had me captivated along with the paranormal aspect of the book and held my attention all the way through. If you like mystery, intrigue, and even a little taste of the paranormal, you’ll love this book!

Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack Book 1) by Nicole Howl – Review by Stephanie Robb

Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack #1)Claiming My Mate by Nicole Howl
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The first book in the Guardian of the Spirits series: the war, Claiming My Mate by Nicole Howl. We first meet Lily, a human and servant to the Wolf Hollow Royals. The Wolf Hollow Royals are well known shifters. The first lesson we learn is do not make eye contact, this is a challenge to the shifters and could end badly. The second perspective is Jason, a shifter, prince of the Wolf Hollow Royals and the next in line for the throne. Lily is Jason’s true mate and all of this wolf instincts are to loved, defend and protect his mate. But will Lily accept his invitation to become his mate and how will she truly fit in with the Royals as a human and servant.
This book is a brilliant introduction to this new paranormal world. We meet characters from both sides of the house, from servants Miss Kitty and Amara, to the Royals the King and Queen and Jason’s little sister Laura. I am so interested to see if we learn more about these characters as the book series continues. The story is action packed, full of twists and turns and romantic from page one.
The ending did leave us on a cliff hanger an I cannot wait to see where the rest of the series takes us.

I loved this book so much, it’s adorable! I really love the premise behind the love matches. It was so much fun seeing the gods interacting and boasting at how easy Eros has it. Mother Nature goes undercover to try to make a love match and it goes horribly wrong. Spring is such a great person she absolutely deserves happiness and love but Mother Nature has a whole other plan for her love life than what her heart has been telling her for awhile now. This book made me laugh out loud, groan and smile at different times. The end is absolutely swoon worthy and I am so excited to read the next books in this series. If you’re looking for a funny adorable and oh so sweet romance, you are definitely not going to want to miss this one.

The Thunderbird Academy Trilogy by Valia Lind – Review by Beverly Finnie

The Thunderbird Academy TrilogyThe Thunderbird Academy Trilogy by Valia Lind
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once I started I couldn’t stop! I didn’t want it to end! The Thunderbird Academy Trilogy box set is a great YA reading. YA is definitely my guilty pleasure. On top of that, throw in a supernatural element and I can’t resist checking it out.
Speaking of supernatural elements, they are at war. Not against each other but the same enemy The Ancients.
We meet Madison Hawthorne at the beginning of book 1. Everyone knows who she is. It’s not just the family name that gives her away. Her sisters and herself performed a protection spell over their town to protect the people from The Ancients. Her father was also taken. There’s also an array of friends we meet at the beginning. The focus though is on Aiden. A wolf-shifter alpha that seems to want to make Maddie’s life miserable or does he.
Book 2 in a new realm, thanks to Maddie’s story spell casting that moves the whole school away from an attack and right into the spring court of the Feary Realm. Maddie is the request of the Queen to not have to punish the rest of the school. While fighting her feelings for Aiden and trying to figure a way back to the human world Maddie is at loss. There’s a mysterious plague that takes out Fae as well as the other supernatural beings at the school.
Book 3
What can we do to help out friends? More people are sick and there’s no elixir, or is there? Are Maddie and Aiden Soulmates? Do they win the war? Does she find her father? Being this is the conclusion I’m not going to give much.
What I will say is the character growth during all the books for Maddie was phenomenal! Even Aiden’s character growth was noticeably fantastic. This is my first time reading this author. And I dare say it won’t be my last!

Valia Lind has created a world in this trilogy that I absolutely loved getting lost in. Magic, shifters, fae, and so much more interesting beings are to be found within this boxset. This was the first story by this author that I’ve read and I’ll definitely be scouring the shelves for more! The character development was fast paced but not rushed, it was majorly enjoyable. I don’t normally pick YA, something about the description called to me like a siren song and I’m so glad I listened. For fans of Laurell K. Hamilton and The Wizarding World Universe, the world of the Hawthornes is quite comfy to settle down into.

Scott and Zelda are back and on another rollercoaster of ups and downs and twists and turns. Please do not read this book without reading the first two. You will not get a lot of what they go through without the many details, experiences and backstory from the first two books. This specific book is so emotional and had me reaching for the tissues more than once. So much happens but above all the love Scott and Zelda have is as strong as ever. This author has fast become one of my favorites! I am sincerely looking forward to the next installment in this series.

*I will add a trigger warning as I didn’t have one and wish I had. Zelda loses a child and this story explores that grief. If you are still raw from the loss of your own child (and as I know from experience that pain never goes away it just dulls down until something brings it back) you may want to skip this one.

This is a spin off of another of this author’s series. I have not read that series and did not get confused or lost so I feel like this book can certainly be read as a stand alone if you, like me, have yet to read her other books. However, I will warn you once you read this book you will want to go back and read more of her work. She is an unusually creative author. I truly enjoyed the little details she adds to her story that makes not only the story, but the characters, the places, the happenings and the emotional all come to life as if you are watching them on the big screen.
Ruby is a great character and I love that she isn’t the epitome of perfection. She uses those imperfections to her advantage to help solve this gruesome murder of her cast mate. I thoroughly appreciated this authors talent in making a story come to life and look forward to book two!
