I have a HUGE soft spot for fairy tale reimaginings and this one absolutely hit it out of the ballpark. A classic tale with a steampunk/fantasy vibe that felt original, riveting, but also true to its inspiration. I was immediately captivated by the way the story unfolded and loved every page. I simply cannot wait to read more from this author!

This is the first book in The Mirror Chronicles. It is a great captivating read that keeps you hooked. Time travel is a big part of the story but it doesn’t become confusing when the characters move between times. I love the fact that it is a retelling of a classic fairy tale. It was a great read and I love the characters. The author is very good at describing scenes and creating the world for you.
Lilia is bored of her life so she reaches out to find the man who can help her time travel. The catch is that she has to save someone in the past. However it can’t be anyone famous or well known as that would draw attention to being able to time travel.
Lilia chooses to go back and save Margaretha, who gets send away by her evil stepmother. Being sent away leads to her untimely death. Can Lilia go back and change the course of events and save Margaretha? Or will there be a twist that no one sees coming that could change her path?

Shattered Snow is a wonderful new take on the Snow White story. It combines the well known story with time travel in a new, unique way. I love how all the characters are intertwined later in the story. In the beginning I didn’t think it was a Snow White twisted tale, but as the story moves along, it all came together. There is the evil stepmother, a huntsman, the dwarves, the loving townspeople, and a version of prince charming. It was a little confusing at first, understanding the time travel, but it was clear by the end. I love the book and highly recommend to people who enjoy the re-telling of classics. It has another cute tie in to the Grimm brothers at the end, that I loved. Can’t wait to read the second story, which looks to be a twist on Sleeping Beauty.

This story was so intriguing and original, I enjoyed every word. I have never read anything like it and I think it’s a great read for all ages. This story takes some interesting turns and yet still stays true to the fairy tale in many ways. The author was able to spin so many elements into this book and bring them together seamlessly. I was kept entertained throughout the entire story. There are also great characters that you don’t want to miss reading about. I recommend this book you will be taken on quite the adventure. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Shattered Snow is the first book in The Mirror Chronicles by Rachel Huffmire. Wow, this has got to be one of the most original retellings I have ever read. Snow White meets time travel, history and mythology. I was captivated from the moment I read the blurb. The author’s cleverly crafted plot, superb character development, and imaginative details really brought this story to life. Snow White just got a whole lot more interesting, that’s for sure. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Well, well, well… what a pleasant new take on an old classic. Rachel Huffmire, I applaud you on a job well done. I’m very picky when it comes to classic fairytale retellings. My opinion usually is why change a perfect story. Like I said USUALLY. Rachel Huffmire did a masterful job with this book, by bringing a futuristic twist with the time travel aspect she incorporated. This is a retelling of Snow White. There have been many retellings of fairytales lately and to be honest, some of them are not very imaginative. The same cannot be said whatsoever for this book. I completely forgot I was reading a retelling when I first started reading it. When I got further in, I met more and more characters that reminded me and I was thrilled. While staying true to the basic story, this author spins such a fantastic tale and really makes it their own. I can honestly say that I have never read anything like this and I loved that fact! The story and characters pulled me in immediately, I could not put the book down. I throughly enjoy the story and really loved the directions the author took. I am left wanting to know more about this world and these characters.
If you are a fan of fairytales and time traveling with strong, real characters, this book is for you.

Let me start off by saying that I don’t usually read Sci-fi novels but I love fairytales so I decided to give this book a chance. I believe this is one of the best and original retelling of a classic fairytale. The author did an excellent job of combining actual history with the story using a vast amount of imagination. The flow between the p.o.v was effortless enabling the reader to fully immerse themselves in the characters.
This version allowed us to see more of a back story to the mirror and the evil queen which was enjoyable. I liked the fact that this read was more of an adventure than a romance. I did find the book a little long probably because I don’t enjoy sci-fi so all the back and forth time travelling grew monotonous. All in all, I think the author did an incredible job and I highly recommend this book.

I am at an absolute loss for words, Shattered Snow by Rachel Huffmire is AMAZING!! If you’ve ever read The Lunar Chronicles, you will LOVE this! I will admit I am a sucker for fairy tale retellings. I may be a thirty something mom but who doesn’t need a little magic and adventure to escape from the world we live in sometimes? Rachel Huffmire was a new author to me but I decided to go in head first and blind as soon as I saw the blurb and cover. This hands down was the most unique and imaginative way to rewrite a classic fav of mine, Snow White. This won’t read like you think it will, it will be even better. There is an element of time travel, something that tends to get a tad confusing at times, but Huffmire did a wonderful job of making it very simple and easy to understand, as well as believable. We get to travel to imaginative and detailed places, you feel as if you stepped into the time travel machine with the characters. I love a good fairy tale with imaginative scene building and this has a lot of it! I was also a mega fan of how the newest characters fit in well with the classics we have grown up loving and knowing. This is a cast of characters you don’t want to miss. I am anxious to get my hands on the next book in the series!

This is my first book by Rachel Huffmire. It will not be my last. Truly masterful. She reimagined an old classic by dusting it off and giving it a spin that was awesome! Shattered Snow by Rachel Huffmire is the first book in the Mirror Chronicles series. This is an interesting and unique retelling of Snow White that will grab your attention from the first page. This is a YA novel however I would definitely say it has an appeal to adults as well – I enjoyed every part of this book! I really enjoyed the way the author created this story, it felt like she took you on a journey throughout the book. I found myself connecting with the characters and really engaging with them. My favourite was “The Mirror”. I liked how he was portrayed and the premise behind what he was trying to achieve. I thought he was a clever character with enough intrigue behind him to keep him interesting the whole way through. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I enjoyed her approach to it all. I am certainly looking forward to seeing what else is to come from this author and this series.

Five stars I love when I find a story that draws me in fast. Where the author hooks my attention and I get consumed in the story. This is a retailing of a classic but with a twist. Well many twists. You don’t just get the typical “Once Upon A Time”. You get an adventure. The story has many selling points. The one I found the most interesting was the time travel. The way it worked and how the author interpreted it into the story. The characters growth and bond an amazing thing to witness. I could hardly put it down. The author made you think. I’m extremely excited that I found this story. The author has an interesting way of telling stories. The flow of the words on every page just beautifully written. There was only one thing I got messed up on it was keeping up with the laws and timeframe. Overall you will not be disappointed in this story. Not many stories out there that do so well in taking something you already love and giving it an amazing twist. There is romance but it’s not the main focus. That truly makes the love that they share seem more genuine.

Shattered Snow by Rachel Huffmire has become one of my favorite Fairy Tale retellings! The character development made this story unique and exceptional. I love that we get the villains backstory and the mirror is not just a face stuck on the wall. The author did a great job giving these characters more depth. The ending was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend this story!
This story is the retelling of a great classic story, Being a YA book would stop most from reading it. On the other hand, I grabbed this book and devoured it in one sitting. This book has a familiar plot line. It is filled with fantasy and SciFi all rolled up into it. The amazement of the scenery in the book paints a beautiful picture with some added descriptions on the side. The characters are fully developed. We find the story is about Margaretha and Keltson. Keltson has a looking glass that he uses to be a hero to some. Margaretha has bitten into a poisonous apple, Kelson comes to change everything around. Is the story starting to sound familiar? I highly recommend this story to see the fairy tale told in Rachel Huffmire’s story.

Shattered Snow (The Mirror Chronicles Book 1) by Rachel Huffmire. This was a great story. It’s a retelling of Snow White that we all know and love. In this version the character of Keltson aka “the mirror” uses his abilities to see people and their lives and decides to take it upon himself to help them. Joined by his friend Lilia, a Russian scrap mechanic, they try to reconstruct history. Its a very dangerous game! Margaretha is a young countess laid out to be poisoned at the young age of 21. Keltson and Lilia decides to take fate in their own hands and thinking they are helping the girl they have truly turned her world upside down and no one knows how things will turn out. This retelling is amazing and keeps you on your feet with the time travel and different characters. I didn’t have a hard time keeping up though it moved very smoothly. This is not my favorite genre but I have come to really enjoy it due to some authors talented spins and this is a prime example. Do yourself a favor and read Shattered Snow to find out for yourself!

Shattered Snow by Rachel Huffmire is an interesting read and would be perfect for teenagers. It’s hard to write a book that is suitable for both teenage boys and girls, but I would say this book is suitable for all.
Shattered Snow is a retelling is a fairytale classic. The story hasn’t just been reimagined, it’s been turned on its head and retold in a way that is both exciting and unpredictable. Set in the future, we get a glimpse of how life could look in 2069. I’m not sure the world will be prepared for time travelling, especially as we already know…changing the past can have devastating repercussions on the future. Kelston, aka ‘The Mirror’, runs an underground operation. His goal is to use time travel to help rescue people throughout history. He is joined on his mission by Lilia, a mechanic from Russia, and together they set out to change the course of history. I loved this story. It was action packed from the start and had me hooked. I would have loved to have got to know the characters a little better, but this story is definitely with reading no matter what age you are.

Shattered Snow by Rachel Huffmire a captivating five-star read. When I read the description of how the author came up with this story, it intrigued me and made me wonder, then I read the story and it made me wonder so much more. The descriptions are so good, you can depict everything, nothing is left out. It cold have been so crazy and not clear when you encompass a fairy-tale and time travel but the author has done a great job of pulling all of the characters together and the settings together and having them bob and weave together creating a story that just captures your imagination. It can get a little confusing if you are easily distracted, but if you keep going with it, it is such a great story.

Shattered Snow (The Mirror Chronicles Book 1) by Rachel Huffmire,is a retelling of the Snow White Tale. I am a fan of fairy tales and I love Snow White. I’ve read and watched movies of the remade tale and loved all of them. This one was no exception. You think you know where you are in the story and its going along very nicely and then it goes horribly wrong. At one-point I was nearly biting my nails because everything that could go wrong, did. This was a great story and I’m so glad I spent time with it. You will too.

Time travel!?! Yes please! This book is a great adventure! So fun. At first this story was a little hard to follow with the new characters and the time travel. But it soon became apparent who was who and how they all related to each other.
Huffmire creates a world with colorful characters. My favorites being Bianka, Ammond and Baigh! Fun names with different attitudes, personalities and beliefs. I really loved the slight twist on a certain fairy tale, super cute.
This story is definitely worth a chance. I look forward to reading the next in the series especially since there was such a great and questioning ending!

This is my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more from her. I enjoyed this book as it is full of fantasy and time travel. This is a well written story that has details that make the story come to life. I had no issues connecting with the characters as they kept me turning pages to the end. This is an engaging, fast paced story that pulled me in right from the first chapter. Keltson uses his looking glass to rescue people who he feels needs happier endings. When he sees Margaretha bite into a poisonous apple he decides to play with fate and give her a choice. This is where the story takes on a fantasy much like a childhood tale. Will Keltson lose all the work he has done to change people’s fate? What will happen with history and fate? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens to Margaretha, Keltson and his assistant. They made great, believable characters that took me through various emotions about them. They made the story engaging and easy to read. This was a great afternoon story that I am glad I picked up.

I loved reading the book Shattered Snow (The Mirror Chronicles Book 1) by Rachel Huffmire. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I loved the idea of time travel, the storyline, and the characters. Keltson Grammar is someone who wants to help those who have unhappy endings to their lives. What will happen when his latest assistant decides that she wants to take another path? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. Each character that is introduced has a part to play in the book. Some have good motives and others who are only looking out for themselves. It is interesting to read about how easy it is to alter a timeline. The characters at times feel conflicted as well as driven by their emotions to take action.
