I really enjoyed this book. It was interesting as we followed two separate stories, Harlow’s and Kayda’s. Both stories had a lot of drama and adventure which made for an exciting read. Each story was complete unto itself yet they connected on a basic level. I loved both and I found this to be a really good series and I look forward to reading more from this author.

This amazing suspense novel definitely caught my attention. Full of drama, suspense, and did I mention cats…that’s right this wonderful suspense novel is based in a Cafe full of beautiful cats. So If your a cat lover trust me when I say you have to read this one. This is the second book in the series and it was every bit as amazing as the first. The characters are well developed, the plot is interesting and complex, and the cover is beautiful. Trust me when I say I can’t wait to see what our author comes up with next for Kitty Beret Cafe and it’s owner Ellie Warner.

This book really hooked me from the start. While this isn’t my normal genre the cover and the synopsis really had me interested so I branched out and boy am I glad I did. This book was full of suspense, drama, and of course mystery and it was so interesting I was half way through the book before I realized it. While I haven’t read any of the previous book, I definitely did need to, to enjoy this wonderful authors characters and storyline. But trust me when I say I will be going back and reading this series from the beginning because it’s just that good.

Remember where we last saw Cat, Robyn, and their moms Bridget and Marissa? That’s okay – neither did I because I *oops* started to read book 3 before book 2 without realizing it and thought it was the Twilight Zone for a minute (okay for the time it took the chocolate lava cupcakes to cool 6 months into 8th grade).
So after I went back and read book 2 in the order it was MEANT to be read in, book 3 started making a whole lot more sense. The increasing difficulty of the recipes makes sense, too. I might even have more empathy for the contestants on baking challenges now that I’ve seen (errr read) how much effort it’s taken Cat to master some recipes that are deceptively challenging.
This book has a new twist that builds on the story of the last 2. I can’t possibly share spoilers that would ruin the whole adventure of Cat & her family’s amazing baking heritage; but I can assure you, these books are a delight and the recipe instructions are fantastic!
Looking forward to hearing more stories from Cori Cooper and incredibly thankful that such a fabulous author of Young Adult books is from Arizona! There’s no place like home, especially when it comes across so beautifully in stories.

They’re BACK! Our favorite primas Cat and Robyn are at it again. Please, unlike me, do yourself a flavor and read these books IN ORDER. They’re like a recipe – it works better if you follow it in order LOL
Otherwise you’ll end up like I did – reading book 3 and wondering how you missed 6 months of Cat’s adventures while she’s baking chocolate lava cupcakes.
So when I realized I wasn’t reading the right book, it turned out EVEN BETTER when I DID start the right book. Because the recipes in book 2? They’re perfect for getting ready for autumn here in Arizona. Whether you love pumpkin or apple or something savory like Pretzel Bites this book is delicious and page 2 has us in Flagstaff.
I was about Cat & Robyn’s age when I first visited Arizona, so Cat’s first visit is extra amazing. And if you’re an adult choosing this book for a middle-school reader, well, try not to get defensive if you don’t agree with Cat about pumpkin everything.
And no matter how young or old you are, Cat’s description of drying her hands with microfiber towels is accurate on an almost molecular level. There’s no welcome mat as effective as having the same visceral reaction to a situation – even if you’re 30 years older than the character!
We are so fortunate to live in a world where stories help us unravel our values & beliefs. Cat & Robyn together with their immediate and extended family members give us 21st century parables (and awesome role models for healing generational wounds through communication and openness) without us even realizing that we’re learning something.

In 1 sentence that’s what grown ups need to know when choosing this series opener for the middle-school readers in their lives. Figuring out your role in the world can be complicated; this is like a more relatable version of Encanto – sorry no arepas recipes 😎 but there IS an awesome family rule: No Gremlin Faces!
I read this book trying to decide whether to give it to my 6th grader sobrina who loves baking & sports. At the outset, I wasn’t sure if the “cute boys” elements were going to be age appropriate for her, but the family, baking, and recipes definitely are. I’ll still leave it up to my comadre whether or not this series is okay “from Nina” or if it’s gotta wait til 8th grade. What’s really cool especially for my sobrina is that the author was raised in Arizona.
Also the author has the best descriptions – both for moms AND middle schoolers!
“From the look on my mom’s face, a person would think I just told her I stole an endangered monkey from the zoo and turned it into a robot, obsessed with eighties music.” Who doesn’t know THAT look from her mom 😹😎
If you’re giving these to a middle schooler with younger siblings, add on Pete the Cat & the Missing Cupcakes for preschoolers or Mrs. Pigglewiggle vintage stories for grade-schoolers.
(Also for funsies, I watched Junior Bake-off on Netflix while I was preparing to read these so I was already thinking youthful happiness)

Word of warning: DO NOT READ IN PUBLIC! This was one of the spiciest books I have EVER read, and I have read plenty of books of that ‘genre’ in the past, so that’s saying something. The chemistry between Callie and Noah was palpable, leading to some very intense scenes between the two of them to say the least.
Callie is a woman many people can relate to. A troubled past and an overprotective brother sets the scene for her life, and thanks to events in the book, Noah is also dragged into it. But Noah definitely takes advantage of this to say the least.
Even though the chemistry between them is the main feature of this book, at least in my opinion, the underlying story that the book actually has is just as good. I was cheering for a happy ending from the very beginning, and it was easy for me to get sucked in to see if they would get it. I haven’t read anything by this author before, but I plan to go back and read the first book as well as others in the series.

This was the first book I read in this series – and I can say that it functioned well as a stand-alone. The plot was intriguing, and I learned a lot from reading it! The author clearly researches every aspect of her story and brilliantly entwines facts and details that make it feel real and authentic. I am happy to say that I will be purchasing more books in this series because I love the writing style and the mystery aspect. Another thing I really enjoyed about this book was that the main character/heroine is an independent woman who has a grown child and grandchild. You rarely happen upon books that have a detective type older than 20’s. This was a refreshing aspect. Additionally, the rest of the characters varied in age and substance. Definitely recommend!!
I thought this was an entertaining and amusing story, with some brilliant characters to back it up. When listening to this book I really connected with the story. I tend to find that books with older female characters are poorly done and I find it hard to connect with them but this author has done an amazing job at making the character so relatable. She is funny, strong, real and I really enjoyed reading about her. She has so much going on and yet she never seems to let it get her down for long. This is a new author to me and I think this was a great book to start with. It is easy to read and a well written story. I will definitely be checking out more from this author in the future.

I found this to be one of those books that surprised me with how good it was. Although the story is fantastic for me this book is all about the characters. They have a strength to standout as individual characters, capturing my interest in them on their own. Combined, together as a duo, they are just the perfect pairing. I thought the author did great at weaving a story full of adventure and sci-fi, keeping it exciting and fast paced. I easily read this book as I was pulled in right from the start. This is a great story that I would definitely recommend.

This is a fantastic fiction story with enough historical detail to make it such an intriguing read. I couldn’t decide how I thought this would turn out right from the moment I started reading so it felt like I was taken on such a journey. The author has managed to pack a lot into this book without it seeming like too much. There is adventure, romance, history and that really felt like only the tip of the iceberg. This is a new author to me and I loved his writing style. The story was well thought out and cleverly written. He had a way of describing the scenes and portraying the characters that drew me in. I really enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to start on the second in the series.

Silent Innocence is the 2nd book in the series and I can say this story was quick a thriller for me, sitting at the edge of my seat. I recommend reading this series in order as characters in the 1st book are in book 2 as well.
Detective Fitz Rodriguez is to be on “vacation time” to spend quality time with his beautiful wife when Fitz gets a call just to review a case as a second pair of eyes. Little did Fitz know that the case would lead to a definite cat and mouse game of murder, suspense, lies and in the middle of this chase innocent mother and her six year old child. Definitely nothing is what is seems for sure in this story. Will Fitz be able to solve this case before time runs out?
This continuation of this series is fantastic. Told in multiple points of view, it is so easy to follow and the story just flows. I am totally blown away and love the storytelling of this author. This story hit a few nerves with me and broke my heart at places for sure…but what a great story…..

Wow!! This is my first book by this author that I have read and I am totally hooked. Murder, intrigue, suspense all wrapped in a great story.
Detective Fitz Rodriguez is all about protecting his loves ones and also has a keen eye for details when working a case. Fitz is on the hunt for a serial killer, who is totally ruthless…..Mark Chambers. When Mark Chambers decides that his ultimate prize is Makenna Justice…Detective Fitz will do anything to protect Makenna from this serial killer.
This story was hard to put down…..I needed to keep going and turn the pages on what happens next. This author’s is top notch! The thought process of a serial killer, methodical thinking from her characters point of views, this story!! The details seem so real!! So well done!!

Ashali is a strong, independent character with a few issues but she goes for Jase. After a little conversation, he invites her to see his parents archeological collection (uh huh, we’ve all heard that.) She doesn’t know his secret identity. He’s a millionaire with a secret. But, alas, she is kidnapped. This is where the rom com drama begins. I loved this story. The humor, mystery, and romance make for a story that will have you chuckling. My family though I had lost it due to my laughing while I was reading. The characters are well-written. If all superhero’s could be that hot, I’d be in trouble more often. The plot is well-developed. A quick read that you’ll enjoy.

I stepped back from my usual romance listen, for this awesome crime drama. I truly enjoyed listening to this story. It was full of current events and realistic to the times we find our nation in. I listen in one sitting.
This is the first narration I have listed to by Melissa Reizian, but definitely won’t be the last. Her voice is very easy to listen to. She brought the characters to life.
So I read the synopsis and I’m like all in ! Then I start the first chapter and already with the first sentence I’m drawn in … “ …. she couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling they were being watched.” How do I resist this !? I don’t ! 😂📕😉❣️ I dive right in !
What do you expect from a sole survivor!? We had a traumatic experience and one of the ladies involved also went mute and she actually went hoarse from the shock and I think this is what happened here Angie was in shock but when anger kicks in your fighting spirit is determined not be a victim over and over again and lucky for Angie she people on her side fight with and for her !
This is really one to shout from rooftops . Thrills , chills and twists and turns ! Just warn your family and loved ones that they’ll be sending for themselves because once you start you can’t put it down 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I was not disappointed my nerves were shattered and my nails chewed to the bit 😳 would I recommend this !? Oh yes !!!!

Stephen has love Andy from the beginning even when they received the devastating news of his diagnoses but Stephen feels that adopting a child could leave them lost and pressure which he feel Andy does not need, so making the hard decision to walk away and leave the family unit is devastating but when a threat is found, can Stephen really walk away from the man he loves?
This as all of them can be read as a stand alone book but it would be advisable to read the first and third book to have some understanding regarding the main characters in this book. Andy is a lovely character who is feeling lost and slowly feeling he is becoming his diagnose, due to Parkinson he is being sheltered and wrapped in cotton wool which is feeding the demise of his self esteem, so when he decides to adopt Stella the dynamic in the relationship between his husband changes and evitable ends in separation, they only problem is neither is convinced.
The story also gets Spicer when Fitz is brought in to try and find a serial killer who is killing gay men, so when his brother is in the cross hair it is a race against time to try and find the killer before anyone else is hurt.
This story is full of the usual thrill of the chase which is now associated with a Fitz book and this does not disappoint. I always love the way that the author writes in a multi point of venue and you get to see in the minds of all the characters and piece together the mystery and twists. I have to say this was my favourite book so far as you got to delve in the relationship of Andy and Stephen who all along has seemed so loving and caring but as all relationships has had there struggles. I hope this series continues and if so can’t wait to read the next thrilling instalment.

Fitz and MJ are on holiday chilling before they welcome their first child but work is never far behind, so when his boss calls him to have a look through a case he can not resist, but although it is only a quick look he ends up being embroiled in the case when he meets the 5 year old he can’t leave alone.
She is lost and alone, but her mom should have been there but when she is a weird environment, she sees him who is kind and I trust he will find her mother.
This story is a stand alone and is a brilliant story from the first chapter. The characters as in the first one are brilliantly and well developed and really enhance the book and drive the story along. I loved the character of Fitz in the first story and he does not disappoint in this book. He is dedicated to finding the mystery and reuniting the mother with her daughter, although the story delves into the darker side of life Fitz tries to strive to help.
You also get to see the relationship between him and MJ grow from strength to strength with the pressures of work and relationships.
I can’t wait to read the next book to see where there relationship goes and what Fitz will be involved in in the future.

Fitz is now retired but still wanting the thrill of the mystery he and his friends decide to help people who need helping, so when of his friends needs answers he is willing to jump in and find the answers they require.
Bailey is lost, she does not understand why very one close to her are holding something back, so when she decides to get Fitz involved to help her uncover the secrets, should she have kept them in the dark rather than showing them the light.
This is the third book in this wonderful series and this one does not disappoint. You can read this book as a stand alone but unlike the second book their are extra characters which appeared in the first book which you may like to have some context with so reading the first book may be beneficial to you.
I loved the twists and turns of this book and seeing the crew together with friends and family was a brilliant addition to drive the story along with interactions and the sub dramas which happen along the way. The character of Fitz is a great multi level character that offers and drive within the story which you are happy to go along with and see the drama through his eye. You also have the character of MJ who is always there in the background grounding all the main characters and is also a complex character herself.
This story is complex and is well written to have you charging through to help Fitz find the mystery to help Bailey discover the truth and it is a great story.
I can’t wait to delve back again into the world of Fitz and MJ in the next book in this series.

There is a serial killer on the loose in New York and Fitz is on the case, but when the case turns more closer than home. When things start escalating can Fitz protect his family and solve the case before anyone else gets hurt.
Mark is honing his skills but when she comes into his life there is no one else who can quench the desire within him, but she is protected so he has to be skilful try and make her his.
This was the first book I had read by this author and it was brilliantly written with just the right twists and turns to keep you engaged in the book from the first word to the last. I loved the character of Fitz he was flawed and had depth to hold your interest. I only thing I had an issue with is I felt the end of the story was a bit rushed, this did not distracted from the story but for me just a little of a let down.
I loved the different point of views and looking into their little bit of the world and how each mind worked and perceive what was happening in the others.
This is a brilliant book and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

It’s a fun cozy mystery- a whodunnit with murder, crime & investigation, quirky characters, a colourful cat café, plenty of felines, a cat show, humour, banter, drama, adventure, and suspense. As we discovered in Book One, Ellie Warren owns the Kitty Beret Café where lattes and felines abound. In this instalment Ellie gets persuaded to host a cat show for rescue cats. Seems pretty straightforward, doesn’t it? Well, not so much. Things take an unexpected and sinister turn when one of the judges is murdered. With a nose for mystery, Ellie gets swept up in the investigation and is soon on the hunt for the killer. What happens makes for an intriguing read. Templeton stole the show again! Love him! This book took me a while to get into, but I honestly had some personal things going on and I didn’t give it a REAL first chance. I made myself go back and reread it and give it the chance that it really deserved. I am SO GLAD that I did too!! It hooked me with its claws and held on tight! Anyways, to the book! Lol. Logan volunteers at a animal rescue center. She’s loving it more and more the deeper she becomes a part of the wildlife center. She is loving the hawks, eagles, and owls. She’s slowly becoming closer to some of the other staff too, especially the vet of the center. When she comes in early one day all things come to a screeching halt with the center. She find’s a coworker’s office ransacked and the coworker dead in one of the other rooms, along with a dead raptor she was helping with! What has she stumbled into?! No sign of what caused the death has everyone stumped. With no leads the investigation stalls, but Logan thinks there is more to this story. With the help of two friends, they look into what they believe might be murder! The killer’s attention turns towards Logan the more that they dig into the murder. Before she becomes the killer’s next victim Logan must find out the truth about what happened to her vet friend. She knows something is off, but can’t put her finger on it. Will Logan find out the truth of what happened before the killer gets to her. Will she be silenced before the truth comes out? Will she be the killer’s next prey? What about her friends helping her? Will the killer get them too? Will the killer get away with the vet’s murder?! And possibly theirs too? This mystery thriller will hook you in! I read this book as a stand alone, but there are more to the series that you can read first. It isn’t needed, but I personally can’t wait to read the others in the series. I also LOVE that the book is about raptors and it touches on a great cause of saving these beautiful wild creatures.
All I can say is what a heck of a way to start a book. This was a great 5 star read. Callie has had a crush on her brother’s best friend Noah for years and needless to say when she takes a trip to a club with friends she gets an unexpected surprise. When she gets attacked her brother asks Noah for help. Callie ends up staying with Noah and things get very interesting between them. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next between them. The build up was intense. There are also some scary twists that added a great element to the story.
What will happen when Callie learns about Noah’s secret? Will Noah be able to keep her safe?
Overall I loved this book. We get some very steamy and intense scenes. The secondary characters were great. The author does a great job with her writing and I can’t wait to read more from her and this series. 1-click and get started today.

From reading the synopsis of this story I honestly thought I may be reading about a vampire, haha. The Blood Prince is written from Leo’s point of view. You get action within the first few pages of the story and the autor did a great job with the description of where everything was taking place. It made me feel like I was right there witnessing it all go down. Leo is a very sought after mercenary, but he also has a family to protect. On one of his missions he his target asks him to grant her a death wish which is to kill her children. Although he did grant death wishes from time to time this one made him stop to think whether or not he would grant it. His hesitancy is due to having younger siblings of his own. One of Leo’s younger brothers has the same ability as he does which isn’t a good thing. The man he works for has discovered this secret and now they must run for their lives. Will they find a safe place?

Hard Lover is the first book I’ve read by Deborah Garland and all I can say is…steamy! This book has it all; spicy scenes, twists and turns, suspense, forbidden best friend’s little sister romance, and dark secrets from the past. Part of me did get frustrated with the secrets that were being kept, but I guess it did help lead the storyline. Even with all these elements, the story isn’t difficult to follow and understand; and although it’s the second in the Houston After Dark series, it can be read without having read the first book. The characters are realistic and believable, and the chemistry between Noah and Callie was unbelievably hot! The storyline is well-written and I love that the reader gets to see the story from both Callie and Noah’s points of view. I can’t wait to read more by Deborah Garland!

The Letter Carrier by L.C. Lewis tells the true story of the Naget family during the Nazi occupation of France at the time of WW2. Through the eyes of Michelle Naget, who was only a child at the time, the true horrors of the war are revealed. From the family’s attempt to flee France, to the Naget’s being captured by the Nazi’s, even being separated form one another, this outstanding novel will have you gripping the pages needing to know how Michelle, Mimie, survived. I cannot say enough about this book. It is beautifully written and from page one this true story grabbed onto my emotions and wouldn’t let go. I admit I read some of L.C. Lewis’s words or Michelle’s memories through tears. I could feel Mimie’s fear of the unknown and almost hear the bullets raining down on them from the planes. The strength of the Naget clan is so unimaginable and filled me with such faith and hope. You can really feel the raw truth of what the war was like in France and it really made me reflect on a lot of things in my life and cherish them even more. This is not a book I will soon be forgetting! A must read!

Never Is A Very Long Time: A Romantic Comedy About Dating After 40 (The Perfect Date Book 1)
I really enjoyed listening to this book. The AI narration took a minute to get used to, but it didn’t take long to get lost in the story and forget about it.
Mariah is what all women my age need to be like if they find themselves in a similar situation with an ex-husband or ex-wife. So often we are expected to just deal with it, and most do at least for a while. Then something happens and she decides she is going to fight every step of the way.
Mariah deserves all of the happiness and success she gets.
