Everything to Me is the second book in the Playing for Keeps Series .This is a Sports Romance story that is a perfect rainy afternoon read. I pretty devoured this book in one sitting. I was pulled in from the beginning and didn’t want to put it down. This is a fairly new author to me but I have read other books by her. This is a story about Kendal and Pete . She’s had a crush on him forever and he’s her brothers best friend. So of course when she’s in need of a place to stay he agrees to let her stay there. These two have great chemistry between them. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait for more

Snap Me Up (Full Throttle Cyborgs Book 1) by Landra Graf-Review by Elena Tobar

Snap Me Up (Full Throttle Cyborgs, #1)Snap Me Up by Landra Graf
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is such a fascinating sci fi romance. Snapper and Gina do not get along when they first meet. Gina is trying to figure out what it means to be a human and is trying to get a handle on her emotions. Snapper just seems to push every last one of her buttons and she drives him crazy too. They find themselves forced to work together and that’s when their chemistry kicks in. This book was so good I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. There were twists and turns that I never saw coming and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series! If you like sci fi romances full of action you are definitely not going to want to miss this one!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a great and unique concept Landra has used for this first book in this Sci fi romance tale. Fast cars, gangs, sabotage, cyborgs, AI with feelings and so much more. They race fast and live hard doing what they love. I enjoyed Landras other books but this one I have enjoyed the most. The story is fast paced with lots of high speed action. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Hang on tight, because this quite the ride.

Reigning Hearts: The Complete Series (Books 1-5) by K. G. Fletcher – Review by Mandy Ott

Reigning Hearts: The Complete Series (Books 1-5)Reigning Hearts: The Complete Series by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read several books by K. G. Fletcher so far and she never disappoints. Reigning Hearts delivers a great mix of characters in each of the five stand alone novels. The characters are realistic, relatable, and lovable. Fletcher creates such a variety of emotions throughout this series that the reader can’t help but feel invested in the outcome of the stories. I laughed, I cried, I felt angry, I felt relief and I felt love! Each of these stories is so different from the others, but you’ll be rooting for the happily ever after. K. G. Fletcher creates such magical yet realistic settings in her stories as well. I felt transported to the beach, to a Christmas wonderland, to the stage of a big concert. I like that I can read these stories in any order and still be able to understand the others. I recommend this series to fans of live, happily ever after, and feel good emotions!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a really good read! I will admit I was a bit confused at the beginning, especially since while I love wine I don’t understand a lot about it or vineyards, but once you get past the logistical speak it’s so hard to put down! It was enthralling and so well written, I just wanted to keep reading and I didn’t want to put it down. The romance was great and I very easily fell in love with these characters. This is the first book I’ve read from this author before and I definitely plan to read more in the future!

This book gave me many different emotions, what Margaret Rose endures through out this story …
Margaret Rose dreams on escaping away from her family and poverty and tries to better herself on becoming a nurse. Many situations come in the way so many times…..war, deception, lies, drama. What Margaret Rose had to endure just truly gut wrenching at times. This book is a journey of one woman who is trying to do it all on her own while raising her children…

Really good story.

I enjoyed this sports romance story. This is the second book in this series, it can be read as a standalone. I have enjoyed reading this author from the first book I picked up. I enjoy her writing skills as well as her attention to details that make her stories pop. This book is no different. I was pulled into the story from the start. The characters are relatable and they bring the story to life. They are engaging and have great growth throughout the story. This is a story about Kendall and Pete. He is her brother’s best friend forever and when she needs a place to stay while she is in town. Why not, right? You will need to read this book to find out what happens next with these two. They have great chemistry and are my favorite. They made the story easy and entertaining to read. I highly recommend this book

I always like books like this one. The story of Kendall and Pete was good and had just the right amount of spice. I definitely think I needed the first book since there were some situations that were alluded to but it didn’t take too much away. As nice as Pete was, I had a difficult time connecting to his character. I enjoyed the storyline and it was a nice, quick read.

Everything to Me (Playing for Keeps Book 2)Everything to Me by Lauren Fraser
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kendall has known Pete most of her life and had a crush on him just about as long. He is a friend of her brothers, and both are professional baseball players. Kendall works in advertising and is visiting the area that Pete lives. Her brother suggests that instead of staying in a hotel, Kendall should stay with Pete. Kendall and Pete decide to use their week together to “get each other out of their system”…but the plan backfires. There is plenty of hot sex, but the biggest question still remains, can the two make a real relationship when the chips are down.

Beautiful emotional retelling of one woman’s life story by her daughter and I’m just floored. Having my own struggles of childhood poverty, I struggled reading those moments in the novel. At the same time, sometimes those reminders are good for us. I’m so glad the author was inspired by her mother’s story and wanted to put it on paper. So many times, I’ve wondered if we would look at others differently if we had walked a mile in their shoes. This author took us for a walk no doubt. I loved the author’s writing style, loved some characters and hated a few, and loved the era. What a story of carving a better life, being tenacious, and a backbone that life couldn’t break.

A Veil of Gods and Kings (Apollo Ascending Book 1) by Nicole Bailey – Review by Audrie Harrington

A Veil of Gods and Kings (Apollo Ascending, #1)A Veil of Gods and Kings by Nicole Bailey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I devoured this book in less than two days! I enjoyed reading the Greek myth of Apollo and Prince Hyacinth, but reimagined in a new way. I learned about the gods, the family line, and what life is like before they ascend to become a god. I became attached to every character – Apollo, Hyacinth, and Epiphany are trying to avoid the responsibilities they have been born into, Temi is Apollo’s mortal sister who is always by his side, and Valerian who was not claimed by his father so he works as a stable hand. I found Apollo and his powers so interesting to read about, he can veil himself to look like others, he can heal, and more. Zeus, his father, is angry that he will not ascend and sends him to learn under Prince Hyacinth. They are enemies and pretty much hate each other, that is until they start to really get to know one another and learn they have many things in common. Epiphany needs to help her family and marry well, but she doesn’t want to participate in her promotion party and find a husband. She and Temi become very good friends and have some fun adventures. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Blood & Ravens (The Casket Girls Series Book 1) by A.D. Brazeau – Review by Helani Kihe

Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance (The Casket Girls Book 1)Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’d like to start off saying that I first heard of the Casket Girls in one of my favorite TV shows. That’s when I found out that it was a reference to the actual casquette/Casket Girls. I thought it was cool that even though Blood & Ravens is a fictional story, the author chose to set the story in the same place and time period as the real Casket Girls.
Blood & Ravens was a phenomenal read. It started off a little slow but once the pace picked up it definitely didn’t disappoint. Just when you think you know where the story is going something happens and you’re pleasantly surprised by the turn it takes.
There was a great cast of characters, great storyline and a great twist at the end. Can’t wait to read book #2.

This is a daunting story of young women wanting to find husbands in the new world. All is not what it seems. The women are put in appalling conditions in the bottom of a ship and basically starved. As the women get off the ship in hopes for a better life, things become more complicated than they ever expected. Will they be married off to good men? Will life improve? Many twists and turns to keep you reading and engaged in the story. Greer, your main female character has the guts to push the limits and put herself in harm’s way more than once. This book had a different premise than most paranormal books I have read. Well worth the read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve read some Greek mythology retellings, but I’ve never read one about Apollo and Hyacinth, and I really enjoyed this one. It’s more YA in writing style but I also liked the fact that the mythology was modernised and it was more a story of imagination and fantasy rather than a straight retelling of the original myth. It was really the depth of character that pulled me into the story and the romance/tension is off the charts. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the next book!

A Veil of Gods and Kings is the first book in the Apollo Ascending series by Nicole Bailey. What happens when a god who is a bit of a tortured soul and haunted by his memories, fights his fate, and in doing so takes a stand against his father? Well, we are talking about Apollo, who is supposed to ascend to become the god of the sun- and yep you guessed it, his father being Zeus himself. So, as you can imagine, Apollo’s refusal to accept his fate doesn’t go over too well with daddy dearest, resulting in Zeus making an ultimatum. Now Apollo has been forced into a mentorship under the guidance of the insufferable Prince Hyacinth. Something neither of them relish. Things are going to get complicated- rather quickly. Especially when their chemistry begins to simmer and smoulder. What happens next makes for a very intriguing read.
This is a NA reimagining of the Apollo myth; an enemies to lovers fantasy with a slow-burn MM romance (nothing explicit), plenty of emotion, angst, drama, danger, layers, banter, and intrigue. And can we take a moment to appreciate this gorgeous cover! It sold me even before I knew anything else about the book. Love me a gorgeous cover!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Nicole Bailey!

A Veil of Gods and Kings(Apollo Ascending Book 1) by Nicole Bailey Review By Jessica Stone

A Veil of Gods and Kings is a wonderful reimaging of the Greek myth of Apollo and Hyacinth, an interesting twist on an M/M, Enemies to Lovers, Slow Burn, Greek mythology.
One thing that caught my attention immediately about this book is how skilled the author is at creating such a mind-blowing immersive and vivid world. From the beginning I could picture every little detail from the fruit on the tress to the vivid blue and white hues of the sky
The first book of four in the ‘Apollo Ascending’ series this slow burn, fade to black, NA romance story told from multiple perspectives, did not fail to pull me in and hold me until I had no choice but to keep reading until the end. The main character of the story, Apollo is nothing if not relatable, with his disdain for being told how to live his life to his sassy attitude towards hyacinth, and his undeniable charisma, he was immediately my favorite character. Though this story is also being told from two other perspective, it leaves you equal time to get to know every character and to fall in love with each one, opening the possibility to further explore the other characters story in the future.
I enjoyed the empowerment on not only men being in less than favorable situations with unwanted destinations in life, but it shows the struggle of these strong women just trying to walk their own path in life, no matter what, or with who that might be.
If you’re looking for a new interesting take on Greek mythology, with fade to black type romance, I would highly recommend this book for you. I’m excited to see what this author has in store for us readers and where she’ll take us with her phenomenal characterization!

I also loved the chemistry between Greer and Theron; it was amazing! It was also fun seeing them both struggle with their attraction to each other. This was a book with a decadent plot and great characters. Blood and Ravens is a very intriguing story and a great beginning to what is sure to be a fascinating series. I absolutely loved this book! When I got to the end and realized that there was a cliffhanger, I was so bummed to have to wait—but then I saw that the next one comes out soon and that made me happy. I love Greek mythology and new versions of the old stories I have heard before. I am fascinated by the world of Olympus and the gods and goddesses that live there. This book tells the story of Apollo before he ascends, and his stay with Prince Hyacinth as demanded by his father Zeus. Apollo is a lovable character despite his flaws and the journey he goes on with Cin is page-turning. I also loved the supporting characters like Pip and Temi. There were some things that I expected to happen since I know the original stories of Apollo, but I definitely loved this retelling. I am very excited for the second book to be released!

In the 17th century of New Orleans, nothing is as it seems. Greek Gods, and vampires oh my! Greer was used to living her life in Paris, until something happens and she finds herself as a casket girl, and drawn towards the mysterious Theron. She is very drawn to him and she doesn’t know why. Enter Hades. Lord of the underworld, and a very wrathful person. This author knows what they’re doing in this series. The writing is captivating, and the little bit of historical facts littered throughout the books, is amazing. I couldn’t simply put it down and found myself reading into the wee hours of the morning. 5 out of 5 stars amazing paranormal romance. Never thought that Greer will fall for Theron. She knew something was wrong but no one believed her. She only wanted to save her friends but she had to sacrifice herself for them. Theron knew what lay ahead of him but he was tired of everything. Both never knew that love can exist in them.
The other did an amazing job here. It gave me chills in each part of their stories, going from one character to another.

I can’t get enough of this book! I am honestly so in love with everything I just read! Even though I was unable to put this book down, I didn’t want it to be over!

A Veil of Gods and Kings follows Apollo and Hyacinth as they are forced to learn how to live together. Due to Apollo’s stubbornness, he has found himself stuck with Hyacinth for the next year of his life. While the thought is grueling, he finds himself being mentored by him. Anything is better than descending right? As the story unfolds, we find ourselves on an emotional journey hoping for a love story that will leave us breathless.

When I saw a mythological retelling I knew I had to read it. I will be completely honest, I don’t know the original of this story. I am drawn to mythology retellings though. This one didn’t fail to disappoint me! This author was able to bring out every emotion while I read through this masterpiece. The story kept my interest the whole way. My only complaint about the book is that it’s over!

I absolutely recommend this book!

Apollo is the son of Zeus, destined to ascend to Mt. Olympus to become a god himself. But he isn’t ready to give up his mortal life just yet. When Zeus gives him an ultimatum to ascend right away or spend a year mentoring with Prince Hyacinth, which he chooses so he can stay on Earth longer.

I enjoyed the writing style of this book and the characters were well developed. The story line did seem a bit narrow and I think there could have been more to the story than the blossoming romance between Apollo and Hyacinth. That being said, I do think this was an entertaining read and would recommend it.
