This is my first book by Amy Michelle Carpenter. I normally don’t read too many books that involve aliens. That being said, this was an excellent book! I loved all of the characters. Carter is our human main character, he’s a sweet boy who is very helpful. Kokab is a foxian (alien) and wants to be perfect on her planet. She’s chosen to go to Earth and see if it’s a good place for her planet to come visit. Ags is from a different planet that produces guardians to keep other planets safe. Ags is the guardian of Earth and will do anything to protect it. It’s a great read and one I couldn’t put down.

This book took me a few chapters to get into it was a slow start for me. There is a lot of escapism in this book which is needed in this time of reading. All the character are very unique. This story has a ton of depth and you can imagine yourself in this post apoplectic world.

Five-Alarm Christmas by Melinda Valentine is a short and sweet Christmas Romance. It’s extremely fast paced and has an insta attraction storyline. Two loners make eye contact one night and bam!!! Insta attraction. Great Storyline well written characters. My only reason for the 4 stars is that I feel it has some editing problems.
J.B Havens & CA Miconi joined forces in this heartwrenching romance. Meg & Drew are both broken, they have both lost someone close to them. Meg is on the run from her heartbreak and ends up in the small town Green Springs. There she runs into Drew, also heartbroken. They keep on running into each other….. will these to people begin to heal….. you’ll have to read it to find out.
Both these MC’s are amazing and well written but I must say that I was drawn more towards Meg with her foul mouth and cheeky attitude.
Tyler and Tara also did and absolutely superb job with the narration of this book. I’m definitely checking to find more books narrated by them.

The Nearness of You: A British celebrity, standalone love-at-first-sight romance by KG Fletcher. This author has truly stolen many pieces of my heart with other books so I knew getting this one was a no brained for me. And of course once again I lost a couple more pieces! Each character brings something unique to the storyline and they had me so completely drawn into their world I definitely lost all track of time and I loved every minute of it. The storyline has a nice steady flow that gives readers exactly what they need. The characters are complex and relatable, each one written in the greatest details. The author put in every feeling she wanted felt and I felt them all from beginning to end. Can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

Corporate Christmas by Bernadette Marie. Want a Christmas story like you get on tv this is right up your alley in all the right ways. I love heartwarming stories at Christmas time they just have a life of their own that captures a piece of my heart every time. This is a shorter read but trust me that in no way hindered this wonderful story. The characters are complex and relatable I found myself completely drawn in to their world and connected with them right off. Chloe and Jason gave me all the feels and I absolutely loved getting lost in the pages of their story. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author and I can’t wait to see what more is offered to readers. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

Fake Fiancé: A Second Chance Office Romance by Amy McKinley. I’ve already fallen in love with most of this authors work so I was definitely excited to gym hands on this story. And again I wasn’t disappointed! The characters had me hooked from the very first page and I happily got lost in the pages for a while with them. Each character was easy to connect with and brought something unique to the storyline. It’s a smaller read but in no way was it hindered by that fact. It still had everything I needed from great characters and a wonderful storyline. I love when I can finish out my reading year with strong five star reads and this is definitely one! Highly recommended!

I enjoy a good paranormal story. Especially one done right. This definitely wasn’t typical. You have Revel a female shifter trying to discover who she is and what she is meant to do in life. Living what seems to be in the 1920’s where women are loved but controlled. I liked that the forest was her place of peace. That in all the crazy there was a place for her to breathe and just be. Until there wasn’t. That place became a crime scene. I really liked Jamie. Daniel was too full of himself for me. Overall the story was very interesting. I liked how Revel came into her own. Found her self worth and stood up for what she believed. There is a lot of action and it is very intense. The forbidden fruit of having a human mate isn’t new but was a nice bonus to the story.

Revel (The Howl Series, #1) by Alden Elway was a good 4 star read. It took me a bit to get pulled fully into the story but once I got past a certain point I couldn’t put it down.
Revel is a female pack member who is trying to find herself. She breaks one of the biggest cardinal rules of the pack, don’t be seen by humans. When she goes to tell her brother what happened, she sees the man walking out with her brother. The man happens to be a conservation officer. There is something about him that pulls Revel in, but another rule is the wolves can’t have a human for a mate. But she can’t help herself, she starts to see him on the sly.
Things take another twist and the pack members find body parts. It appears that the attacks may be animal related. What will happen when the pack finds out the truth? What will happen with Jamie?
Overall this was a great thrilling read. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I really liked Revel, I felt bad for her at times because all she wanted was to be loved and not controlled by her family. This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a well developed romance story that I was pulled in right from the beginning. The characters are connectable and engaging as they brought the story to life. They made the story easy to read and entertaining. This is a story about Tara. She just wants to put her past in the past and be able to move on and heal. As she opens up a new restaurant, she finally starts to heal. Then he walks into her life and things start to happen. Jace just needs a change and heals from the loss of his family. Taking on a new job is a start. When he meets Tara, he wants to know more about her. What will fate have in store for them? When the past comes crashing into the present, how will things change. I really enjoyed this story and characters. They made the story for me and I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next with them.

Revel by Alden Elway is the first book in the Howl series and was a really good read! It took me a couple of chapters to get into the story but once I was in, I was hooked and didn’t want to put it down. The story was great, and the characters were awesome. I loved the friendly camaraderie between the family in the pack, and their different personalities. The author did a great job writing a different take on shifters. This was a shifter novel unlike any I’ve read before. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next novel!

Evil’s Whisper is a dark fantasy book, the first in the Evil Saga series. It is well written and the characters are well developed. The story brings old secrets that could either save the people of the world or completely ruin them. Sabiya has been living behind the walls of Juniper City her whole life. I read this as an audiobook and found it enjoyable overall. This is my first adult urban fantasy/cyberpunk read, and I liked the combination between magic and technology. The strongest point of this novel is its world building. There’s so many details and lore, from the collapse of the fairy court to the house of the lucky devil himself. The magic system and concept of second sight was also exciting, and I appreciated that they had a definite class system describing the level of magic a person could use.
However, this book wasn’t without its faults. Megan Mackie and Frank Sjodin did a great job narrating, but I didn’t care for how they chose to divvy up the reading parts. I would have preferred if Megan Mackie read everything, and Frank Sjodin only read St. Benedicts lines and chapters. Sometimes they would go by thoughts or narration and it sounded off. I also didn’t care for some of Mackie’s writing choices. Some details, paragraphs and conversation could have been trimmed for the sake of pacing. For example, the beginning of the book could have introduced Rune and St. Benedict faster.
The characterizations were also very hit or miss. I didn’t care for St. Benedict for most of the book, but I loved Rune, Allie the girl dog and Taki the mermaid. The title of the book was also a cute play on words. When I first picked up The Finder of the Luck Devil, I thought it was about a girl looking for a hot guy, a “lucky devil”, but it was literally Rune using her magical talent as a finder and her title being the heir of the Magdalene and the owner of The Lucky Devil bar.

The Rest of Forever is a paranormal story by Carrie Pulkinen. She is a new to me author, but I enjoyed this story so much I’m looking forward to reading to more books by Carrie. April and Damian are great characters. The book had me laughing out loud, and that to me makes a book GREAT. This is a special take on guardian angels. I couldn’t put his book down, and read it in one sitting.
Curt Bonnem is the narrator ’of this book. He really brought the characters to life. This is the first book by curt that I listened to by Curt. He is going on my favorite narrator list. This is definitely a five star listen!
This is my first book from this author and I have absolutely fallen in love with Amy McKinley’s writing. I was expecting a short and sweet office romance between an assistant and her boss. Instead, I became heavily invested in Adeline and Stone within the first chapter of each respective character. McKinley did a fantastic job of giving Adeline and Stone more than just their appearances or wealth. They felt like individuals with their own personalities and dreams, and I would have enjoyed getting to know them and follow their stories whether there was a romance plot or not. It takes a lot of talent, attention to details, and good pacing to be able to pull off a novel like this, and Fake Fiancé: A Second Chance Office Romance has me thoroughly impressed.

Wildfire (The Broken Bow Book 2) by Ashley A. Quinn and is a contemporary romance with suspense thrown into the mix. It is an engaging and well written story with strong characters. It is an emotional read that is both intriguing and gripping and I found myself fully immersed and lost in the story. All she wants is to put down roots and leave the past behind but just when things seem on the up the ugly past comes crashing back to the fore. He is trying to forget his past and start a fresh and he may have just found the one person to help him on his way.

Wildfire (The Broken Bow Book 2) by Ashley A Quinn 4 of 5 Stars This was an engaging and emotional romantic suspense which had me gripped from the first page. Main character Tara Miller is home again after years away travelling the world and she’s determined to put her painful past behind her but she’s being stalked. With the distraction of her family and a new restaurant Tara finally feels she is healing. Then, she meets Jace Travers and the more Tara try’s to avoid him the harder it gets. Jace moved to Silver Gap, Colorado to become the Chief Deputy in order to avoid the memories of his wife and daughter. However, Jace is instantly intrigued by the sister of his Sheriff, Tara and her attempts at trying to avoid him just make him even keener to learn more about her. But when Tara’s past comes back to haunt her things turn deadly for them both. I found myself immersed in this story and felt engaged with the characters all of whom were well defined, and I found the fiery and strong Tara who is a real survivor particularly likeable and relatable. I enjoyed the romance elements of the storyline and the chemistry between Tara and Jace did come across in the narrative. Quinn really made the characters and the setting come alive with her descriptive writing and the suspenseful plot moved the story along at a fast pace. I found that I could not put this book down and read late into the night, always a sign of a good book. I look forward to reading the previous book in ‘The Broken Bow’ series and any future ones.

Second Chance eX-mas is the first I’ve read by N.D. Jackson but it most certainly will not be the last. I don’t read very many second chance romance novels because I often feel the plots to be too corny or redundant but this one certainly surpasses all expectations. I was drawn into the story line right away and something about the author’s writing style was intriguing and familiar. I was drawn to Ally and her interaction with Cindy right away. I love when books are written in multiple point of views and with the plot of this book, I thought it was great to see things from Archer’s perspective. Overall, I can’t say enough about this book and highly recommend it. Especially if you like a sweet romance during the holidays.

Run To The Sea is the first book in K.G. Fletcher’s Reigning Hearts series. A fantastic start to the Reigning Hearts series. This novel is based in a sleepy Florida seaside town. I enjoyed from beginning to end. She has a writing style that is easy to read and her stories flow really well. I. G. FLETCHER had created some amazing characters and Thomas and Emeline were no exceptions. I love a second chance romance how these two absolutely interact with each other. You root for these two. Your emotions will go through the ringer with this one it pulls on your heart.

I have yet again found a new author and a new series to read. I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I like how there is drama and some intrigue mixed in with a little romance. I like that this book had a little complexity to the plot and a bit of drama. The characters really jumped off of the pages and I felt as though I was right there in the thick of the action.
I really like how the main character Revel comes to her Alpha not just for the pack but in a ways for herself as well. I like how there is an underlying unknown and that the author brings it out. I could feel the complexity of Revel’s emotions as she goes through the events. I really look forward to reading more from this author and this series.

This is a non-fiction book that talks about the rescue of 124 dogs and how their fate was changed by a few animal lovers. This was a difficult book for me to read because of the content. What the book does is bring awareness to a problem that I think is more common than others realize. This book talks about what happens in a small town and the process that happened with the rescued dogs. This was an emotional story for me but I am happy that there is a positive ending.

I enjoyed this fantasy book. This is my first book by this author which I look forward to seeing what is next for them. This is a well written story that is full of ancient secrets, pasts and a darkness that could either bring ruin or salvation. The characters bring the story to fantasy to life and a journey that will keep you turning pages to the end. Sabiya has been living in a town all her life where women are treated as if they are worth little and can be replaced at any time. This is where she starts her journey but before she can really get started she is kidnapped, rescued and brought back to the very city she is escaping. You will need to read this book to find out what happens next which I highly recommend doing. The characters made this story for me. I felt for this young girl she struggled through her journey but she is strong. This made for a great afternoon read.

This is a extremely short romance Novella. That been said it packs the punch with romance within a page. Finley and Garret story is very connectable. A warm felt Christmas story. My only problem is I wanted more to read.
Lorenzo has been through a trauma losing his wife at a young age. I love know tight he is with his brother and the bond they have. Lorenzo dedication is highly amazing as well. Rkyer is a good friend. Family ties in this book are very strong. Carissa friends are trying to get her set up with Lorenzo. There’s no romance without hiccups in the road right. This is the first book I’ve read from the author and I really enjoyed it. It’s was male on male romance that contains plenty of secrets.
Rick is a marine. He is a stereotypical marine and being gay or at least openly gay wasn’t am option. So Rick keeps his sexuality a secret from everyone except Dave Turner.
Rick and Dave work together and become lovers in secret. Rick falls in love with Dave and has his heart shattered when Dave confesses that he is engaged to be married to a woman.
On a path of destruction Rick ends up drunk in a gay bar where he spots an attorney who works with his brother. After he swears Brent to secrecy he thinks things are sorted.
Brent was surprised to see his bosses brother in the gay bar but promised to keep his secret. There was an attraction between him and Rick but nothing happened due to Rick being drunk. After trying to find somewhere to live Brent is happy when his boss finds him a place. Until he realises that place is at Rick’s home.
What could go wrong? Will Rick be able to keep his sexuality a secret from his family? Will the attraction between Brent and Rick grow? And what happens if it does?
This paranormal wolf shifter romance has plenty of action, drama, mystery and suspense which had me hooked from start to finish. Revel Finley is a female wolf shifter and as a female her pack has certain expectations of her and although she is loved she is also controlled. The forest is her sanctuary and the place she can be and feel free. One rule is not to be spotted by humans, so Revel is concerned when she is spotted by conservation officer Jaime but then she breaks another rule when she realises that Jaime is her mate. Shifters are forbidden from having a human mate but secrets are hard to keep within the pack especially when a new wolf the arrogant and annoyingly good looking Daniel seems to be following her around. However, when hikers start to go missing in her forest and then bodies are found with injuries that look like an animal attack things become dangerous for the whole pack. Wolves have been spotted too close to town and the locals have started rumours and Revel and the pack worry that the humans will learn about them, the wolf shifters. Revel also has to face the truth about who she really is. This is a fast paced and action packed novel with a wolf shifter storyline but with a twist. The mystery elements of the plot kept me guessing until the end and I was gripped by the whole story. The narrative flows well making it an easy and enjoyable read and I felt engaged with the characters who really come alive, as does the setting due to the descriptive writing. I liked the main character, Revel as she was both likeable and relatable and I enjoyed the forbidden romance element between her and Jaime, who’s chemistry really came across in the story. I look forward to future books in this series.

Book Review: Revel (The Howl Series, Book 1) Author: Alden Elway Five Stars Shifter story about a female Werewolf and her family. Meets a human male which is a HUGE no-no in the family. Can Revel fight her feelings and stay away from the human. Can she keep her secret and the secret of her family. Good writing and the underlying mystery in the story will keep you engaged. Alden Elway is a really good writer of shifter stories. A must watch for future books. KLH
