I enjoyed this Christmas romance story. This is a shorter story that brings Christmas spirit and magic together. This is a well developed story that has characters that made the story easy to read and entertaining. They are connectable and really made the story pop. Audra is up for a promotion but so is her co-worker Charlie. There is an attraction between them that has been ignored until now. After she ends up in his bed, will she take a chance on an office romance even if they have been proven to be bad? I really enjoyed these two and made the story for me. Their attraction is off the charts. Will they find their HEA? I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this second chance Christmas romance story. This is the first book in this series, I look forward to reading more. This is a well written story about two people who have a painful romance past until they meet each other. Lorenzo is a single dad who lost his wife and left to raise his daughter on his own. Carissa thought she had it all and a life with her fiance until the day she lost it all. Then they meet each other and things start changing. Will they figure out that some things are worth fighting for? I enjoyed these two and the chemistry they have. I did feel bad for them in parts because of their pasts. They are connectable and made the story easy to read. They pulled me into the story from the beginning. I found myself hoping they would find their HEA. I highly recommend reading their story to find out what happens next with them.

If you’re looking for a quick, sweet, tear-jerker holiday read, this one is it! All I Want For Christmas by Vivian Fiano was a great read! I was in tears halfway through reading this novella. If I hadn’t of been around my parents, I would have been bawling! This short but super sweet story is also 18+, as it does get a bit steamy at the end. This story definitely has all the elements of a good book. This is the first I’ve read from this author, and I can’t wait to read more in the future!

I have read a few books from this author and she keeps on surprising me. I love paranormal books but this series has me addicted. This is the fourth book to the awesome series called The New Orleans Nocturnes. You can read this book as a stand alone but some previous characters are in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put it down. This is a fun Christmas book that will make you laugh out loud. I can’t wait to see what this author will write about next.

I thoroughly enjoyed this YA romantic comedy with a magical twist. Cat Anderson is a very likeable and realistic teenager who is happy with having a laugh with her friends and flirting with cute boys. Things become complicated for her when a scheduling mistake places Cat in a culinary arts class on her first day of 8th grade. It seems that ‘something’ happens when Cat bakes, something impossible or even magical. Cat’s not the only one in her family that this happens to, as her family have a big secret, one which is to fantastic to be real but can not be hidden any longer. This is a fun and lighthearted read which introduces some great characters, like the relatable Cat but also her friends and family all of whom bring something different to the story. The storyline is quirky and unique but it works and makes this novel a real page turner. I was hooked from page one and felt engaged with the characters and immersed in the story due to the descriptive narrative. An enjoyable and fun read.

Claim Me Now is the second book in the Heron Harbor series by Lea Nolan. Although part of a series it can be read as a standalone. I had not read the first book in the series before reading this one and didn’t feel that I was missing any necessary information. In fact, I had not read any of this author’s work before reading this but I’m very glad that I chose to read this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it. Claim Me Now is a contemporary romance that has great characters and the story flows very well, keeping the reader engaged throughout. Raven Donovan has chosen to go to her family home in Heron Harbor after a particularly disastrous day at work. What she didn’t expect was the handsome man in her house. Jack Baines needs a break after a stressful week at work and his friend Lark Donovan offers him her family home for a weekend away. Raven and Jack’s story is great. Both are unwilling to leave the house so they agree to both stay there but give each other space. But when the attraction between them gets to hard to bear will they both give into their attraction. And will the reason that both of them had such a stressful week at work come back to haunt them as they realise that both of them are linked? This is a really enjoyable read and I struggled to put it down. I just couldn’t wait until both their secrets came out and see how everything around them would explode when it happened. Definitely recommend!

This book completely blew me away! Honestly from the very first chapter I was hooked. All the incredible detail made it so easy to connect with the characters in such a real way. The author wrote in such a way that as I was reading it it felt like I too could feel the emotions that they were feeling, which is what made it such an incredible book.
I loved this storyline through and through, it as action-packed, intense, intriguing, captivating, shocking and truly addictive. This is the best book I’ve read all year! I cannot wait to read more from this talented author ASAP.

Cuckoo Clock New York follows the exodus of Dr. Esther Rosenthal and her father, Mordechai, from their hometown of Hildesheim, Germany. This story is an excellent narrative for humanizing the experiences and events leading up to WWII and the ethnic cleansing which ensued. I have read my fair share of Holocaust novels and every story is tragic in its own way. Cuckoo Clock New York is an easier read because it allows you to witness the journey of a family that was able to get away. Not only is Esther able to flee to America, but she and her father were able to contribute to the relief effort for German refugee children. This is the story of a woman who helped others even when she was on the run and barely able to help herself.
My only critique would be small details about the writing style. This is the first book I’ve read from this author, and sometimes the passages would come off disjointed and the character dialogues felt clunky. The text was also simple to the point of being plain. This made the book feel less immersive and dramatic. Although the events of the book were very important, there were missed opportunities that could have been used to build more tension. There could have been more balance between being a plot-driven and character-driven story. Overall, Cuckoo Clock New York was a pleasant read and a good contribution to the large collection of WWII and Holocaust stories.

This isn’t what I expected when I grabbed this one. A simple office romance that takes place in Italy. Well that does happen with the additive of a few odd things. At first I was confused when these visions were happening. Maybe something stating the character was dreaming or having a vision in some way. As the story progresses it becomes more intriguing on how things were going to end.
The characters were fun to watch. Especially Adeline. She is a Savvy business woman. I was impressed with her at her job. She is firm and a complete opposite when not working. The book is worth read just to feel her fierceness when dealing with employees. Pretty sure she is my favorite.
Overall this is a good read. At time the flow is a bit choppy but it all smooths out nicely in the end. The characters are some nice growth and how they interpret their visions was a delight.

If it has teeth, claws and fur – I’m in because I’ve always been a sucker for a good werewolf story. So stumbling upon this book, I had high hopes and expectations too. I always do for a werewolf story so I took no time in devouring it. I got about a quarter way through and I seriously considered about stopping. It felt dry, slow and I felt like there wasn’t really anything to sink my teeth into. With much thought, I decided to keep going and then suddenly, the pace picked up. It drew me in slowly and before I knew it, I was completely pulled in and lost all track of time. The story became more than just about a girl, stuck between two worlds. It became about a woman, torn between duty of who she is and who she wants to be. So, even though this story starts a little dry and heavy, trust me when I say it’s a diamond in the rough. You’ll fall in love with the characters as they grow each chapter, cheering them on every step and stumble of the way. Then, before you know it, the story will have completely devoured your attention, leaving you hungry for more.

This is my first read from this author and a brilliant introduction into this author it was! This author has a brilliant writing style that captivates you from the very beginning and brings the characters to life! These two characters had amazing chemistry that was undeniable and really made this book engaging as I really wanted to see where their connection and relationship would go, throughout the read, I couldn’t help but root for them but with them being opposites, will there be too many issues stopping it from being a HEA? I can’t wait to read more books from this author until then I highly recommend this book.

Revel Finley is a twenty two year old woman who lives with her family in a large cabin in the woods near Kane, but she is also a werewolf shifter, she lives for being in the woods and running free in her wolf form, to embrace and be embraced by nature and everything she loves and she is careful about being seen, that is until she is by a hiker in the woods as she is hunting. When she decides to pluck up the courage to tell her brother, she realises that the guy who saw her is his coworker and not just that, he has told her brother before she gets the chance to and now he has to keep it to herself or she will bear the full brunt of her Alpha Soren’s rage. Revel makes up a lame excuse for being there when she steps out of the tree line and sees her brother and he says he will give her a lift home as he is about to leave, so they go up to his office so that he can grab some paperwork, she sees a family photo on his desk as she looks around the office and remembers the day it was taken and how her family had a run together and bonded strongly, especially with her twin Tristan, it is while she is reminiscing that she is introduced to his coworker, Jamie and her reaction to him is something she wasn’t prepared for in the slightest.
When they get home, they have a pack meeting to discuss the sighting of this wolf and what the consequences might be for the pack, the meeting turns to fear, raised voices and panicked questioning until Soren asserts his status and calms the pack members down, throughout all of this, Revel is trying not to show how guilty she feels for the whole situation and that she is the wolf who has been seen.
Finally, Soren puts out the order to stay away from the trails and roads, or there will be consequences, as well as stating that nobody should hunt alone, but when everyone else cowers to their alpha’s will, Revel finds that she is not as affected as she should be. When Soren later pulls Revel to one side and tells her that he wants her to hunt with her two younger twin brothers so that she can bring one down a few notches and the other up a few and build his confidence. As the three of them head out later on with Tristan in tow, they walk through the woods in wolf form until they smell a mountain lion nearby and decide it is time to teach Ethan a lesson, it all goes to plan until Ethan runs off scared and discovers something in the wood that he wasn’t prepared for. They find a piece of human remains and decide that they need to return home and tell Soren about it, but when they find out he has already left, they decide to keep it to themselves until he gets back.
A welcome distraction arrived with Revel getting a job at the local farmers market, helping to lift crates and other jobs most days of the week, but this is where she runs into Jamie more and cannot deny the attraction between them. As she has to keep it a secret, she struggles with lying to her family as she sneaks around and spends more time Jamie, it is about this time when a mysterious and handsome lone wandering wolf, Daniel comes to stay at the cabin, which is not unusual, but what is is that hikers begin to go missing and bodies start to be found around pack territory, this puts more pressure on Revel as she tries to hide more and more secrets from her family and the danger around them grows.
Will Revel’s secrets be revealed to the rest of the pack, or will the pack be able to work out who is killing the hikers and what will happen if they do? This is a romance with a dangerous edge and shows how mistakes can lead to dangerous paths and dire consequences, but also how strength can come out of it and show what people are really capable of. A riveting look at pack life and romance with the added twist of danger in is a story you will want to continue and finish once you have started it.
Jane Devereaux is finally getting her chance to drive Gaston’s baby around New Orleans and is relishing in this until she runs someone over, as she starts to panic and get Gaston to call for an ambulance, she learns that it isn’t just any old person she has run over and nearly killed, it is Santa, THE SANTA, he actually exists and not only that and now Jane has to make a choice, she has to turn him into a vampire, or destroy Christmas, not much of a choice really. After the deed is done and Santa has been turned, Jane and Gaston load Santa into his car and after some shock and amazement, she gets to ride Santa’s reindeer Blitzen home, this is something she will never forget.
The next day, she has to go and see the Magistrate of their coven and register her new fledgeling and start to deal with the consequences of her actions, this includes the explanation of why she had to sire him in the first place, but first she has to break the news to Santa that he is now a vampire and everything that goes with it, however, Santa seems a little off and won’t stop singing his versions of Christmas songs and asking constantly for sugary things to crave his thirst. After Santa’s registration they take Santa out for his first feed and to get his official license, but something is still off, this is where they all have to break the news to Mrs Claus, as well as this, she has the added bonus of her dad coming to visit for Christmas and she is going to have to break the news that she is a vampire, but more that that, is that she is also married and prepare herself to see her dad and face his reactions to her news! Jane only has three days to fix Santa and save Christmas, but can she do it in time, or at all?
This story is a christmas themed romp through New Orleans where mistakes are made and curveballs are thrown around like snowballs in a snowball fight and a read which will keep you reading until the end.

This is a nice holiday mystery. It’s the second book in the series. I have not read the first book and didn’t struggle following along with this at all. We see Joanie setting up and getting her bakery going. There is the problem of missing items around town the the fun gnomes. Joanie also is the town matchmaker so we get to see her in action doing this as well
I enjoy reading Christmas books this time of year. This is a fun story but at times I seemed to zone out mostly during the baking session. I didn’t need all the details to understand what was going on. The characters/townfolk are interesting but the gnome idea stoke the show.

I absolutely loved this book in audio! The author is awesome and I love that she narrated herself this because she knows how they should sound and act because they’re her characters and she’s not gonna mess them up or make them sound weird. ‘Gianluca (Marini Family #1) by Isabella Cassazza has to be, by far, one of the best romance novels that I’ve read to date! The dynamic between the two main characters, though tried and true, gets a new spin put on it, one that cannot be fully appreciated without experiencing the book for oneself. And, of course, what better place than Italy for a blossoming romance? This series is indeed off to a promising start. I cannot wait to see what the other members of the Marini Family have in store for us!

Sweets and Santa: A Paranormal Christmas Cozy Mystery is the second book in the Matchmaking Baker series, which is also part of the larger Matchmaker’s Grimoire series by Rosie Pease. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I look forward to reading the rest of this series. This book features Joanie who opened a Bakery in Heartwood Hollow with hopes for a great Christmas season. Then things start disappearing, and the mystery begins. This will be a trying time for the citizens of Heartwood Hollow, will they let the Christmas spirit in or will it pull the community apart. I’m in awe of the wonderful characters and the plot line. I’m really liking these vampire state novels. A unique little twist on vampire tales. In Eye of Death (Vampire State Book 3) by Alexander Charalambides Rowena is still working towards rights for humans. It seems she gets a big break through Prince Antet, royalty from a neighboring kingdom. I have to say in book two, City Without a Sun, I had a sneaking suspicion about the prince. I can’t make up my mind if I am pleased or disappointed in the way that turned out. (Can’t tell you that, gives away too much of the story). If you are a lover of vampire stories and like to see a unique twist on them, I think this book will fit the bill. I’m looking forward to the next one.

Fake Fiancé: A Second Chance Office Romance by Amy McKinley was a great 5 star read.
Adeline is graduating college and heading out of town to go work in Italy. a sorority sister is going on maternity and she will be working in her place for a few months. She has a goal and this will help her get to those goals.
Stone is a business man and is currently renovating a hotel and has been having some strange dreams. When his new intern starts he’s not sure what to think at first. The poor girl is clumsy and the way these two first met was interesting and I felt for Adeline when she tripped and fell in his office, I was embarrassed for her and LOL at the same time. When there is a twist regarding a hotel property he has his eye on, he offers a contract to Adeline. She agrees to be his fake fiance, but will they be able to keep the feelings fake?
Overall this was a great read, there are a few things going on in the story that make things interesting and difficult at times for the characters. These nocturnes novels always make me laugh. They are lighthearted, romantic, witty and funny. Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen did not disappoint. Sometimes I laugh out loud. Jane is so real, and the dialogue is so normal. I love the New Orleans landscape and the return of favorite characters. When I need a quick positive jolt Ms. Pulkinen’s supernatural Pulkinen neighborhood does it for me. Be aware there is a little hot and steamy adult “stuff” going on but not enough to distract from this merry little tale. If you need to end your evening on a smile this one will do it for you.

This was a great story. This was full of fun, magic and great characters.There were times I found myself laughing out loud. The author did a great job capturing the young teenage years. I loved that there are great recipes throughout this story. I plan on trying out some of the recipes. I loved Cat’s character, her baking, her interaction with her friends, her family, and boys. This book kept me entertained the whole time. I cannot wait to read more from this author. I highly recommend this book.

Urban Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel Book 2) by India Kells
Sloane plays the loner well, she is so used to it and isn’t sure what to do when someone tries to help her out. She takes on so much instead of allowing her team to step in and help her which in her line of work is stupid .
Luke is the sexy professor and if I were in college I would definitely take his class no matter the subject. He has knowledge that Sloane and her team needs to continue tracking how Phantom is being brought into Chicago.
There were some incredibly hot moments all through the book, but holy cow that first was smoking.
I have really enjoyed the first two books in this series and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

All I Want For Christmas: Military Romantic Short Story is a wonderful Christmas story that made me smile. This is the first book I have read by Vivian Fiano, but definitely won’t be the last. This book lifted my spirit and made me feel better. It also made me think of all the troops and their families that will be apart this holiday season. It makes me want to do a care package….. I may have to go shopping tomorrow. Five Stars for this holiday treasure.

Moonlit Mirage: A Cook Islands Romance by Amy McKinley Four Stars
Moonlit Mirage: A Cook Islands Romance is a Novella in the Moonlit Destination Series by Amy McKinley. This is a short fast paced romance that is packed with action and adventure. It can be read as a standalone, as this is the first book I have read in this series. I was intrigued with the storyline and the characters are well defined. This book makes me want to start reading this series. This was a perfect short story.
This is the first book I have read from this author and I’m so glad I read this book. I love a good Christmas book but this author exceeded all my expectations. This is a cute Christmas novela that will get you into the Christmas spirit and make you grateful for what you have.
Kinsley only wants one thing for Christmas and that’s to get her boyfriend to come home to her. She has waited for months for Brysen to come home from his tour. Kinsley gets a call saying that he has one more thing to do and he will not be home this year again. She is so upset but miracles do happen. Will Kinsley get her wish or will she be alone again on Christmas? Review by @heatherbass

Sweets and Santa by Rosie Pease was a great, quick read! Once starting this sweet tale, I could hardly put it down. It felt like I was reading a Hallmark. Christmas movie! The characters were great and interesting, and the story held just enough mystery to keep me captivated. This was a very sweet novel to read. I can’t wait to read more of this series and this author! Be warned though: the book and this author both will be leaving you wanting cookies by the end! I guess it’s a good thing that’s there’s a recipe for some at the end!

Lauren and Davids world both collide. Lauren is an ambitious, fun and completely likeable character. There are many hurdles these two have to go through to go together. The chemistry between these two characters jump off the page and leaves you wanting more within the story.This is one of those magical romance one you could see this as a movie. K. G. Fletcher writing is extremely descriptive and makes you feel like you are inside the book. This is a lovely stand alone romance which I would highly recommend for that cosy warm feeling.
