This is my first book by Lisa Jones Gentry. I love paranormal stories and crime is my jam. This book put them both together. I loved this book! The plot was well established and the characters are well developed. Detective Bob and Clive (he’s the poor dude that got whacked) go through who could have caused Clive’s murder. The twists and turns of this story were amazing. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book for this series!

This series gets better with every story. This is not my first book and it will not be my last book. This book is a fast pace adventure. There are twists and turns around every page turned. It is well written and the plotline is an adventure. Karina finds herself going to Mexico to drop off a package. It was supposed to be a vacation, but it turns into chaos. Karina always has mishaps with the plans she lays down. This book brings in some Egyptian history, which makes this package even more interesting. You will have to read to see what happens to Karina in this adventure as she always has with everything she does.

This is my first book by Stuart Ledwith. The fact he wrote about John the Baptist is interesting. The philosopher Edouards spreads the story of John the Baptist and the message. It is a book that shares insight to the man of John the Baptist. It is not strictly a religious book but one that brings his character to the light. Can a man who paves the way for the Messiah spread more than the prophetic teachings? What was John the Baptist’s life message? I highly recommend this story to see what Stuart Ledwith’s story is about John the Baptist.

Accepted: Rhodes Family book 2, by Lisa Wood is a MMF book. I loved reading this book as once I started, I was hooked and could not put it down. This story was addicting to read, and it put you on an emotional rollercoaster as you turned the pages. Ava, Thomas, and Hunter were lifelong best friends until they fell apart. When Hunter tries to rekindle and fix it will they be able to? Or will what happened in the past have a hold on their future? I highly recommend and I cannot wait to see what comes next in this series.

Both inspirational and empowering ‘Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings’ by Maria DeBlassie is an original and unique non fiction book. It had me intrigued from the front cover and by it’s title and by the time I had read through the chapter headings I was hooked. The novel consists of a collection of varied essays written by the author, each essay is designed to inspire the reader to look at life and the everyday things in a different light. The essays remind us to escape into the ordinary, and to find beauty in a simple cup of coffee or in the rereading of a favourite novel. The book is a “study in what it means to live deliciously, joyfully, magically”, and “it’s an invitation to conjure your own bliss”. I don’t think there could be a better time to be reading this book as the population as a whole is dealing with and living with the dreaded Coronavirus and are all in various stages of ‘lockdown’. Myself and my family due to ill health have been in ‘Shielding’ here in the UK since March so, if ever there was a time or a need to have, a “little more magic in our lives”, I think it’s now. Even though I had never heard the term ‘natural mysticism’ before, I read this book with an open mind and I think any reader who does the same will benefit in some way from reading this book. I think every reader will find a particular chapter more or less appealing to them and will find more meaning in one essay than another, making reading this book a personal experience. I particularly liked the chapter, ‘The Bookshelf’ and the chapter titled, ‘Letting Go Of Past Lives’ I found particularly poignant personally. This is a book that you can pick up and put down, you can either read it a chapter at a time or swallow it whole, I have also found myself returning to it and flicking to a particular chapter to read it again. It’s definitely made me think and it’s also made me smile, before I read this book I would have said that I didn’t really believe in magic but now I think, as DeBlassie, says, “we all need a little magic in our lives”.

This is book two in the ‘The Lucky Devil’ series by Megan Mackie, the storyline is set in an alternate Chicago where technology and magic are in competition with each other. This is an urban fantasy/cyberpunk novel with a fast paced storyline and some great characters. SciFi novels are not my usual genre but having discovered the first book in this series and enjoyed it I was happy to give this second instalment a try and I thoroughly enjoyed being back with Rune and visiting her ‘Lucky Devil Bar’. I was pulled back into the alternate world that Megan Mackie wonderfully creates and was fully immersed in Runes next adventure. Rune Leveau knew the peace couldn’t last and once again finds herself at the centre of a battle between bullets and magic as warring factions converge on her bar. Everyone from the Kodiak Corporation, the Magic Guild, and the Faerie King himself, are after the ‘Finder’. The Masterson Files, which is a computer program with the impossible ability to cast magic is still the major prize wanted by all and they all think that Rune is the key as her former husband built the revolutionary code. Rune feels that cybernetic corporate spy, St. Benedict is the only one who can help her but she’s aware that they are both keeping secrets and telling each other lies. Rune finds she has to trust the, Saint of Liars to help her find Justin Masterson. This novel was full of action and drama all set in an alternate world where main character, Rune really brings the story together and moves the plot along. I was gripped from beginning to end and found the storyline exciting and the narrative easy to read.

I really get excited when I see a new IRRESISTIBLE anthology from some of my favorite authors. This one is the fall theme and really makes the reader ‘fall’ into love over and over again with each of these 8 wonderful romance reads. I personally love The Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series from Tamara Ferguson and this one has a short that falls into the series so I was super excited to get my hands on it. The others are also by some of my fav authors and even a few new ones that I look forward to discovering more in the near future. I loved that this was in a nice and sweet box set available to share and gift easily with family and friends as this is about the time of year I start looking at gift options. I can’t wait to see what else we will get from these fabulous authors. Below is the title and author of each book that is included in the set, each and every one a five star read in their own way!

Pharaoh’s Forgery is book four in author Ellen Butler’s ‘Karina Cardinal Mysteries’ and this series just gets better and better. Our independently minded feisty heroine Karina Cardinal is having a short girls only holiday to Mexico to recover from her latest adventures. However when sister Jillian’s injury means she cannot travel, the trip looks like a no go until friend Rodrigo volunteers to go in Jillian’s place. Whilst boyfriend Mike Finnegan is working, Karina heads off to Cancun with fellow lobbyist Rodrigo. The pair look forward to some sun, sea, sand and plenty of margaritas. Having promised to handover a package to Mrs. Thundermuffin in Mexico, Karina then worries about what is inside the package especially as Mrs T, herself is being evasive. Concerned she may be carrying something illegal she takes a look to discover it’s an Egyptian death mask. Unluckily for Karina and Rodrigo the mask proves to be valuable and so attracts the attention of crooks, conmen, kidnappers, and murderers. With Karina’s life in danger, yet again, her and Rodrigo need friends in the right places to help them out of this situation and help them return home safely. I love this series of books, as each story has mystery, drama and suspense and this novel was no different, the plot had plenty of action to keep me happily turning the pages and enough twists to keep me guessing until the end. I was hooked from page one and as usual was completely immersed in Karina’s adventures. Karina is a great lead character who brings the story together but the other characters, such as Mike and Rodrigo, are also fascinating in their own right and add to the overall storyline. I look forward to future Karina Cardinal novels.

These characters were easy to love as their circumstances brought them closer together in not only the rat races of their career but also in the dating pool. I love their banter with one another and how entertaining the story brings them closer together. This is an easy read that you can’t help get sunk into as an original comedy-esque book. I loved reading why Geo took his approach with not only his career but with Penny as well. Great characters and story to boot. I loved this whole book!

I really have enjoyed the Karina Cardinal Mysteries books but this one has to have taken the cake and made my absolute favorite one so far. Even though this is the fourth book in the series, these could probably be read as standalones, you will be hooked after the first read though I can promise you that. This one is a wild ride and I really loved the small vacation setting that Butler took me to this time. She has a knack for building the world and scenery so well and vivid that I feel as if I am right there with the characters.
This time we found KC as she was about to go on a much needed vacay with her sister. Of course nothing goes to plan as usual and her sister breaks her leg and can no longer join her on the vacation to Cancun. Fate throws in at the last minute Rodrigo, a coworker and friend of KC’s, and the two embark on quite the adventure and mystery in Cancun. I love the intrigue and the building of suspense in this one and found myself reading well past my bedtime to finish this novel and figure out how things will work out for KC. I am so anxious to see what adventure we will get in the next book!

I have yet to read a Madeline Dawkins Mystery that I did not absolutely adore. THE PATIENCE OF KARMA is no exception to the rule, and once again Hamilton has truly delivered the ultimate twisty and suspenseful mystery that will take you away on a wild ride as you try to figure it out along with Maddie and Mike. I have loved every book up until this one but I do think you could read them as standalones if you really wanted and still find them easy to digest and adore.
THE PATIENCE OF KARMA has a whole new mystery one with drama and twists and turns you will not see coming just as much as Maddie and Mike don’t. I loved the side characters and how well the story flowed. It was believable and intense in the suspense department and I couldn’t get through it fast enough. I will be so ready to get my hands on the sixth book, House of Deception!

This is one of the third books from this author that I’ve found myself enjoying. The author has a way of educating his audience in making his subjects more human than anything else that they are. Very good job placing the characters in a more interesting light than we’ve learned outside of a religious view.

This is an intense, fast paced read that will send you down the rabbit hole into a sci-fi action. These characters bring out the best in one another’s roles to bring out the best. The action keeps you turning the page in this original story full of action. The book is easy to read with great world building in a world not too far from ours on Earth. This unpredictable story sends us into steamy exchanges with our characters and will keep our hearts pumping. Very entertaining!

I am so here for this series and loving it! I wasn’t sure if I would but I have been hooked from book one and even more entangled now after reading book two. I truly love the way the author spins the web of intrigue as we read and makes you wonder if you even know what is going on. I really enjoy the adventurous feel you get as you follow the twins Izzy and Kain in their second year of school. This brings new questions to light and even more intrigue as to what is happening to these two. I love the way the magic and supernatural pieces are an accentuation to the story, not the whole thing as this makes it seem just a bit more realistic. I am so excited to get my hands on the next book and see what adventures it will take us on next!

This book is a coming of age story which explores the inner thoughts of Alina who I happened to love even through her transformation. She has to deal with peers who make her feel less than. This book takes you inside a world where it’s unpredictable for the reader craving every word from the author. This is a beautiful story that leads you down turns you never expected.

Secure Heart by R.L. Dunn is the third book in the Chase Security series. This book can be read as a standalone although I would definitely recommend reading the whole series. This is a story that is full of action and has some strong characters to back this up. Holly and Julian were such a good match for each other their story just seemed to work. The whole book was really well developed. The author knew when to push things forwards but she also knew when the story line would benefit from taking a step back. I thought the characters were really the focal point of this book. While there was a great storyline the characters are really what shone through. They had a strong connection and that you could feel on every page. This has been a brilliant series so far and I am looking forward to seeing what is next.

They are interesting and well written with some utterly brilliant characters it them. Each book is distinctive and well written and I would honestly struggle to pick a favourite between them. Phoebe Alexander is one of those authors who has firmly cemented herself as one of my favourite authors. There isn’t anything I have read so far that I haven’t absolutely loved and this series is the perfect example as to why! The Dating Itinerary by Brooke Williams is a fun cotemporary romance that is entertaining from start to finish. The whole book is funny and engaging, with brilliant characters. I was instantly drawn into the story and loved following Penny and Geo on the journey they were taking. I really enjoyed the whole feel this book had to it. Right from the start the author knew what she wanted to achieve from this book and it felt so well executed that you couldn’t help but fall right into it. The book was well written and the characters were just amazing. They had such a great connection, you could really feel the chemistry between them. These mystery stories are set in ancient Egypt and they hook you quick. This story follows Lord Hani who is put into several situations that will affect him all at once. The author wrote an amazing storyline and the characters are easy to connect with. Highly recommend if you love historical fiction with mystery that you pick this book up.

This was a great romantic comedy with a fiesty female lead. The characters are well written and very captivating.
Penny is a journalist who is single. She is given a new assignment whether that is because of her skills as a journalist or because she is single she is unsure but she is determined to make it the best story yet.
Her assignment is to go on the dating scene through many different ways such as speed dating, bars, matchmaker to evaluate their success rate and maybe find her Mr Right. What she doesnt expect to find is her enemy George.
George is her own rival at the company she works at. When he took her promotion from her friendship turned to hate. So imagine her horror to see him at the speed dating. And not to see him but to match with him.
George isn’t what Penny believes him to be. His persona is all a front but will she give him the time to show her there is more to him that what she sees and believes or will they end up hating each other and missing what could be under their nose all along?

That Incredible Kiss is the third book in the Kissed By Fate series by Tamara Ferguson. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone and contains a complete story. I have read the 2 previous books in the series and many of the Wounded Warrior books, all of which are set in the town of Crystal Rock and have become a huge fan of her work. I love Tamara Ferguson’s style of writing and have loved every book of hers that I have read and That Incredible Kiss was no different in that I absolutely loved it. It’s always great to be back visiting Crystal Rock and the Dragonfly Pointe Inn. There have been so many amazing characters come from these stories and I loved reading about 2 new characters Ashley and Brian. That Incredible Kiss is a fantastic second chance romance. Brian and Ashley got together at the very end of high school but then were forced apart. Now it’s 10 years later and they are both back in Crystal Rock. I loved reading Ashley and Brian’s story. As with all the books set in Crystal Rock, there is so much more going on than just the romance story and there is a great storyline going on along with the romance between Brian and Ashley. Like the other books by Tamara Ferguson that I have read, I was totally hooked on this book from the very beginning and did not want to put it down. 100% recommend!

This Boxset of three books continues on from ‘Hero High, Collections Book 1, Figure In The Flames’ and we are back in the world of Icon City and with out feisty heroine Friday Fitzsimmons. The prologue at the beginning gives a recap of what happened to the world and how Icon City came about, which is also useful for new readers to the series. In Icon City power and fame are everything above integrity which Friday finds difficult. Friday must decide whether to go for the celebrity stardom which is within her grasp or follow her conscious as crime and corruption spreads throughout Icon City. The Hero Channel control every aspect of Friday’s life from the clothes she wears to who she will date, but when she uncovers the secret behind Hero TV and it’s connection to the Icon City jail she must choose which path to take. Torn between her feelings for the villainous Doctor Dangerous and Luke, a new team member Friday must use her supernatural abilities to save the school she loves and stop the Heartbreak Rebellion. I have enjoyed this fast paced romantic/urban fantasy series so far and was not disappointed by this collection of three books. I liked being able to ‘binge read’ them one after the other which made me feel completely immersed in Icon City. I love the main character’s, both the hero’s/heroines and the villains as they all add to the story. I particularly like Friday, who really brings the whole series together and I find myself rooting for her throughout each book. The plot has plenty of action in it which had me gripped from beginning to end and I enjoyed being back with Friday in Icon City. The City really comes alive thanks to the authors wonderful world building. Escapism in a book, perfect for YA and adults alike.

THAT UNEXPECTED KISS (Kissed By Fate Book 2) By Tamara Ferguson 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book THAT UNEXPECTED KISS (Kissed By Fate Book 2) by Tamara Ferguson. It is a romance book that has both sweet and steamy moments. There is also some suspense and mystery. I love the characters of Julie Thompson and Dylan Nash. Julie is a wonderful special education teacher who is also smart and independent. She has come back to Crystal Rock and is planning to stay. She then sees Dylan. Dylan is an FBI agent that is on a mission to find out who killed his father. He also has always had an attraction/feeling for Julie. What does the future hold for Julie and Dylan? While searching for justice, will Dylan be able to keep Julie safe from harm? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has scenes that are romantic and ones that touched my heart. I grew to care about what happens to Julie and Dylan with each chapter that I read. They had been introduced in book one of the series and I am glad that they got the own story. I also enjoyed reading about many of the additional characters that are helpful to Dylan and Julie. Crystal Rock is a place I have fallen in love with. Don’t miss out on a wonderful love story that you won’t want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

THAT UNFORGETTABLE KISS (Kissed By Fate Book 1) By Tamara Ferguson 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book THAT UNFORGETTABLE KISS (Kissed By Fate Book 1) by Tamara Ferguson. It is a wonderful romance book that had me hooked from the very beginning. I love the characters of Katie Callahan and Michael Murphy. Katie is a young woman who has always known that she will run the family business. She is smart, independent, and strong. She is surprised at the feelings that she has for Michael. Michael is a young man who has also had his future mapped out for himself. Then he meets Katie. Can a kiss be so unforgettable that even after time has passed the feelings that it brought out are still felt? What does the future hold for Michael and Katie? Read this book to find out. This story has not only romantic moments but also suspenseful moments when I wondered what would happen next. I grew to care about Michael and Katie with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. The author does an amazing job of making you feel the emotions of the characters and also making them come alive on the pages. I also enjoyed reading about many of the additional characters that interacted with Katie and Michael. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that you won’t be able to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

Pharaoh’s Forgery is the fourth book in the Karina Cardinal Mystery series by Ellen Butler. WOW, this series just seems to get better with each new instalment- this is definitely one of my top two picks of the series, so far. I love a riveting mystery- something Ms. Butler does incredibly well. I love that her stories always keep me wondering what will happen next- and expecting danger with every turn of the page. Her books are always full of suspense, drama, danger, intrigue, tension, action, and even a little adventure. Her books are a definite ‘one-click’-no-questions-asked…. I don’t even have to read the burb because I just know I am going to love it. As expected, this story definitely didn’t disappoint. Even though this is the fourth book in the series, it could be read as a standalone- without feeling like you are lost or missing anything. But having said that, I really do recommend reading the previous three books first, because not only would you be denying yourself some really great stories- there are some recurring characters that appear in each instalment, so having the character introductions/details, backstories, and other interesting information would really enhance your overall reading experience. Karina Cardinal (K.C) has been through quite a lot recently and is in dire need of a vacation. She’s really looking forward to cocktails, blue skies, and the sunny beaches of Cancun- and having her sister with her for a girls get-away. But you know what they say about the best laid plans- as she discovers when her sister breaks a leg and has to cancel. Now it looks like K.C will be holidaying alone- until good friend and co-worker Rodrigo steps in to ensure she doesn’t have to cancel or go alone. But, if you have been following the series, you know that nothing is ever quite that simple and that K.C seems to attract trouble to her like a magnet- so, what should have been a simple favour for her elderly neighbour, turns quite dangerous- with K.C and Rodrigo caught in the middle. Their ‘adventures’ made for quite a gripping and engrossing read! I can’t wait for more Karina Cardinal mysteries!

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue #9) by Lara Ward Cosio was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning, love me some rock star reads and this one didn’t disappoint.
This is Conor’s story. He just had a big birthday and is dealing with the loss of his father. When the band starts discussing a new album he’s not quite sure if he’s ready for that yet. He ends up going on a road trip with his godson Donal, who was also having some life issues himself. The relationship that these two build on their journey really tugs at your heart strings.
Will Conor and Donal find what they are looking for during their journey?
Overall this was a great read about finding yourself again. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. I would love to see more from the characters. And I can’t wait to see what direction the author goes now. It can be read as a stand alone but suggest reading from the beginning. 1-click and get started today on this great read.
