Give Us Bad Boys & Billionaires by L.M. Mountford – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the first time reading from this author. I initially enjoyed reading these types of books, there is just something different about this one.  I honestly didn’t really read the synopsis because the cover just grabbed my attention. Each story keeps me wanting to read more. I really get into them just to move on to another short story. I really wish that they weren’t short stories at all. There is so much missing because there is no real ending. I am left wanting more from each. They each bring something different to the table, bed, couch really where ever you are reading it at. I have no favorite because they get and keep my attention and my make so many pictures dance in my head.

Hood of Sedna (Stevie Capot Chronicles) by Mina Skye – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the first time I have read a book by Mina Skye. I really had a hard time with getting into the story to be honest, which is why it took me a week to read. It’s the first of the  Stevie Capot Chronicles. It’s about a women who lost any possessions and her memory once she woke up in North Carolina. She created a version of herself by naming herself Stevie Capot. She keeps moving around because she doesn’t want to “humans” to know that she can’t age. She winds up in Sedna, Washington where three mysterious men claim to know her as Princess Stephanie Corin. Can there arrival really help her find out who and what she is? You need to read the book yourself to find this out.

Make Me Burn (North Fork Series) by Alicia Street – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

I couldn’t put this book down. Alicia did it again!! The characters that kept me going were Logan Bennett and of course Jinx D’Alessio. He was her brother’s best friend and her fantasy lover. Can they ever find a way to be together or are they destined to loved each other from afar? You must read the story to find that answer as I did. I felt the betrayal that happened between Logan and Jinx throughout the story, I also felt the love that they have had since they were teens. I felt a odd connection with Jinx because of her story about finding love at a young age and yet realizing that no one even notices except Logan. Logan has a harder time with everything because of something that might have happened between him and Vic (who is Jinx’s brother). I really think that you should read the North Fork Series Book 9.

Murder At Music Hall (True North Murder Mystery Book 1) by A. J. Ullman – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the first book I have read by this author. I will tell you that its very graphic when it comes to describing the scene where someone loses their life. I actually had a hard time getting it into at first because of the graphic description. Which is weird for me, since I tend to enjoy books that get graphic. Detective North (who is retired homicide detective, and now a Private Investigator) has been hired by the victims father to find out who hurt his boy. There are moments that I feel like there should be more description but overall I really like the book. Definitely recommend this book to others who like reading about mystery, murder, mayhem.

Deceptively Yours (Titans of Chicago Series) by Anise Storm – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

OMG!! I couldn’t put this book down and I hated when I had to because of work. Just like her other books, she knows what her readers want to read. The love story of Harper Grimes and Gabriel Blake was written for those who believe in soul mates. I am one of those people even though I haven’t found mine yet. This isn’t just about love, hurt, and passion but you do see a lot of that in this story. It helps create a realistic picture of what’s ahead. I promise you that you will not be able to put this book down until you have read it completely. Anise Storm is an author I wish that I could be someday. You will find yourself mad at some of the characters including Harper and Gabe at some point and that is okay. Continue to read and you will find that the anger helps you understand these characters so much better.

CUTTER (Devils’ Spawn Daddies Series) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

So this book is number one for the series Devil’s Spawn Daddies. I am hoping that there will be more then this book. I feel like we need to know the other characters as well. In this book, Cutter is the enforcer of the Devil’s Spawn MC. He is known for getting into trouble (at least the cops think that) with the law but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a soft side to him. Emily Mayhew is a new detective trying to make a name for herself. She is basically the only female detective on the force. While trying to make a name for herself, she falls hard for Cutter. Now the question is: Does Cutter feel the same way? While reading this I learned a few new things about age-play and what a middle is. I am recommending this book to all who fantasize about having a “Daddy”….There are parts of the story that are more visual but this allows you to connect to the characters. Its not a good book if you are unable to visualize what is happening to the characters. As stated before, I really hope that there is more to this series.

Delayed Redemption (The DAG Team Series) by Kel O’Connor – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

Mateo is the body guard of a top drug lord. He is desperately trying to leave this world behind. However He runs into an old female “friend”, named Janey. She is a little bit older than him but doesn’t know the dangers that surround him as well as she thinks she does. Can Mateo leave the gang life and be okay with working for a government agency? Can Janey look past Mateo’s old life that she knows all to well and be able to spend the rest of her life with him? These are questions that I am asking myself as I continue to read this book. This is the first time that I have read a book by this author and I am hoping that it won’t be my last.

Fade into the Night (Philly Heat Series) by Becky Flade – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book #5 of the Philly Heat Series. This is the first time I have read from this author. I could not put this book down. FBI Special Agent Noah Danes is trying to catch a serial killer. The investigation leads him to an old friend, named Sadie Potter, who is a Forensic Facial Reconstructionist. The last time they saw each other they got together but that was four years ago. They rekindled their relationship but before they could really dive into it, Sadie is attacked by the serial killer (The Beltway Romeo). Can Noah keep Sadie safe and still have a relationship with her? I think you need to read it to find out for yourself.

The Uncrowned King (The Blood Prince Series) by Ayla Marie – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the first book I have read by this author, however this is the second book of the series. I really had a time getting past the few chapters mostly because I couldn’t get into it. But as I continued to read I started to understand Leo’s story. I will tell you that I was drawn to this story because of the cover. Leo’s father refused to be king when he was alive, so does Leo follow in his father’s footsteps? I do feel like I should have book one and then book two so I will definitely be looking into the first one. I do suggest that you read it in order though because it might make connections easier to grasp. I am definitely looking forward to reading the first one and probably rereading this one before moving on to the next book.

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet Book 2) by April Moran – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the second book of the series. Sadly it’s also the last of the series. Kingston Winter is a savage beast who can not control his obsessiveness over a young Ava Blue. Ava is still trying to figure out why she feels the way she does with Kingston. In this book she is giving some freedom and some of it is taken away because she also struggles with letting someone have control over her. Can Kingston break her or Does Ava break Kingston?  I will tell you that Kingston is down right creep throughout the entire series, there are parts that make him less creepy but it doesn’t change too much. I loved the book, I hate having a job that requires me to put my book down otherwise it would have been finished sooner. I can not wait read another series from April.

Knight In Peril (A Jorja Knight Private Investigator Mystery) by Alice Bienia – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book # 6 of the Jorja Knight Series. I have only read one other book from this series and while both are good. I do feel a little lost in this last one. I definitely recommend reading all of them in order. That being said, Jorja entered into another country to spend time with her friend Gabriella. Unfortunately Gabby and another friend of Gabby’s has gone missing. Will Jorja be able to find Gabby and the other woman? I really like Jorja but I feel like she trusts too easily in this book and it seems to back fire a lot. While I am still reading this book, I do plan on going back and reading the other books of this series because I found out something’s in this story that I didn’t know before. Which is probably why I feel lost. So do not skip any of the books, read them in order.

Jade: Hidden Scars: A Forbidden Age-Gap Romance (Book 1) by A. Akinosho – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

I didn’t want to put this book down. It is the first in the series and the first book I have read by this author. I have a question for you: Have you ever fallen in love with someone that you know you aren’t destined to be with? Jade is a senior in high school when she meets Naseer (who is tens years older). Can their love be real? There is a lot of fighting with her family and his family because they are from different worlds. No one really knows how their love is there but as you read, you will feel it. I despise Naseer’s father and the so-called Princess Nadra who are insisting on Naseer to give up Jade. Despite all of the fighting and hiding can Jade and Naseer really make it or are they destined to end up unhappy with others. I still don’t know and I need to read the next book to find out just like you do. I promise this book is not one to put down. Now I am going to get book 2.

A King So Savage (The Savage Duet) by April Moran – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

So this is the first book in The Savage Duet Series. In this book, we learn about Ava Blue who is taken captive by Kingston Winter. This book contains violence, adult situations which may not be suitable for all readers. Kingston Winter is the villain in this story but he could also be a hero at times. Ava Blue was kidnapped to pay a debt owed by her brother Carson. Carson Blue owes Kingston 2.6 million dollars and Kingston wants his money or he will take Ava and auction her off to the highest bidder. You will love to hate Kingston throughout this story. I actually can’t wait to read book 2 bc of where this book left off. I promise you that this book is worth the violence and adult situations that arise in it. Do you think Carson will pay off this debt to get his sister out of King’s clutches or does he even care that his sister is caught in the middle of his troubles? Read to find out for yourself,  I am not going to give away the answer…

Finding the End Zone (Game Time Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

She did it again!!! I absolutely loved this book. Jamaica Winslow is a college junior who normally spends her time with friends and work. She rarely spends her time wondering about the players on campus. It in her Lit class, she meets Callahan O’Reilly (a star football player). He catches her eye and she can’t deny his good looks as well as his charm. Does he feel the same way, only time will tell. I promise that this book is more than just puppy love and fun college times. It brings reality into what could happen to good people when in entitled idiots think that they can mess with their lives and get away with it.

The Cold Kid Case (Sparky of Bunker Hill Mystery Series) by Rosalind Barden – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the first book that I have read by Rosalind. It’s the first book in the series. Sparky, is an 11 year-old orphan. She has been accused of murdering a little girl, that she found on a park bench. Can she help the police find the killer and clear her name or does she wind up doing time for something that she didn’t commit. I like it but I did have a hard time wanting to read it. While it was an interesting story, it really wasn’t my kind of book. I could always give it another chance as well as read the other books in the series.

The Christmas Carousel (The Brass Ring Series Book 2) by K. L. Small – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the second book that I have read by K.L. Smalls and I absolutely loved it. Rusty’s grandpa gave him a brass ring that allows him to on an adventure every time he is on a carousel. He had enjoyed these adventures, so he wants to give his grandpa a gift in return  and Christmas is the best time for that, but with very little money Rusty isn’t sure what to get him, so he finds Santa’s Christmas Carousel at the local mall and hopefully he might come up with the best gift for his grandpa. This an amazing Christmas story and it tells a little bit about another journey that I won’t spoil. It’s a wonderful book and I am glad that I got a chance to read it.

This is the first book I have read by Rob Bates. I couldn’t put it down at all, I actually read the book in one day. There is a lot going on throughout the story, there is love, death, confessions, and of course diamonds. We all know that Diamonds are a girl’s best friend at least what we are told growing up. However, in the diamond in this story is not meant to be anyone’s best friend. Mimi finds herself under attack once her and her family purchase the “cursed diamond” from the wife of a famous jeweler who is found murdered. Can Mimi find out who murdered her friend without getting hurt herself? Read to find out and to see what happens to the diamond at the end.

Secrets at the Café: A Novel of Suspense about Family and Friendship by Susan Specht Oram – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book 2, it would be in your best interest to read the first book otherwise you will be a little confused. You see, Gigi is the owner of a local café. Karina is her granddaughter who is now the sole owner of the café after Gigi passes away. There is a journal that tells Karina something’s about her grandmother and her family. However the journal goes missing. The whole town is investigating the theft because it is rumored that Gigi hide a lot of money somewhere and they all want to find the money. There is a sense of desperation in Karina as she just wants the journal back and doesn’t really care who took it as long as it is returned. I literally couldn’t put this book as I read it in one day. There are a few things about Karina and her family secrets but the townsfolk have secrets as well. Does Karina recover the journal? Read it to find out, I promise you won’t be able to put it down until you know all the answers.

Lottery of Secrets by Nadija Mujagic – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the first book that I have read by Nadia. It’s a fast paced book that pulls you around Lynn and James’ life and possible plans after winning the lottery.  However, you are pulled into a paranoia that someone is out to get Lynn. Can she figure out if someone is actually trying to hurt her or is it all in her head? This is the first book in the series and there a lot of unanswered questions. You will need to finish the series in order for it to make sense. There is a lot of violence specifically domestic violence, so if you have been in that situation this is not a series for you to read.

Whisper Creek (Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book #7. There is happy news for Logan McKenna but will it be short lived due to financial insecurities? Join Logan as she heads back to Oregon for a consulting gig while trying to figure out the profitable viral video that was created by a student. Logan of course always finds a dead body in every story. This time her friends are possibly the criminals behind this horrible crime. In true McKenna fashion she put her life on hold to help discover the truth and finds the killer. I have said this in multiple reviews, READ THE SERIES IN ORDER!!!!! There are moments that are confusing if you read them out of order. I do plan on going back and rereading the series from book 1 to book 9.

Lost and Found (Logan McKenna Mystery Book 9) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book #9!!! It’s the last one in the series….maybe I really don’t know. What I do know is the Logan McKenna has been in some dangerous places and I feel like this one might be one of the ones that keeps you wanting to read until the end. I literally spent an afternoon reading this book. Logan McKenna reminds me of myself when I was really young and wanting to work in the police department. In this book, Captain Craig Peterson is washed away by waves during a storm. But no one is sure what really happened and how he was swept away. Can Logan help find out if his death was an accident or was it something sinister that took him away from his family.

Forest Park: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 2 (The Logan McKenna Series) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book #2. I unfortunately read the series out of order. I really wished I hadn’t but it is what it is. Logan McKenna is visiting Portland for work. She meets several people and of course someone dies, however there is another whole story going on during this one. I kinda of got lost within the stories. I was trying to figure out how they connected and how the title was incorporated into the story. I eventually did understand why the other story was going on and how it connects with the mystery of who killed the victim. What I don’t understand is why Ben’s story hasn’t been told and what her relationship with him has to do with the troubles she finds herself in by being nosy. While I do have many questions, which may or may not be answered, I do know that I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. There are moments where I got lost and there are moments that are very sad but overall this was a good book. I still want to know more about Ben and his past for some reason.

Lies That Bind (Logan McKenna Series Book 6) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book #6. Just like all the books I have read so far, I can’t seem to put it down. There are so many new characters in this one. I especially like that Logan finally has met her half sister. She and her guy (Ben) bought a house on the Oregon Coast, they are fixing up. However, during this renovation they discover some things that may hide hints to the murder of Charlotte Collins and maybe even more. The details of Charlotte’s murder is a bit hidden so in true fashion, Logan has to get involved. Of course this time she is taking her half-sister Olivia with her. Can they find out who murdered Charlotte Collins or is her death a mystery? Continue the series to find out!!!

Shattered: a Logan McKenna Mystery Book 1 (The Logan McKenna Series) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book one of the Logan McKenna Series. I have the whole series but I am slowly reading them all. Logan McKenna is this amazing woman who tends to stick her nose into some rather dangerous situations but she doesn’t realize that its dangerous until its almost too late. I really wished I had started with Shattered when I started reading the series. Each character has a specific role to play in the telling of this story. This is where Logan finds out about a few things that are life changing. Including a Viking of a man named Ben. I can’t wait to finish the series and tell you all about how Logan’s life has turned out. Is it for the better, be like me and continue reading the series to find out.

Vanishing Day (Logan McKenna Series Book 4) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book #4. I could not put this book down. It had me on pins and needles all the way through the book. There is a part in the book that I didn’t expect to be so descriptive because the writer does not really do that, but its towards the end of the book. It gave me mixed emotions all the way through. I laughed, cried, worried, laughed some more and cried some more. I can not stress this enough, You need to read the series from the start of book 1 til book 7. While I did enjoy each book on their own, I feel like I wouldn’t be so torn about Logan McKenna and her need to be so nosy. Mostly because in this one, she was put into a very bad situation and she had to fight for survival….I promise you each book brings you closer to Logan McKenna and how she is so helpful to those who ask ( or don’t ask) for her help.

Tracker (The Talisman Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the Talisman Series Prequel. Tracker is Riley and Lynette’s story. Riley and his friends attend a party that Lynette and her friend also attend. Neither of them are expecting to find each other so soon. However the Gods felt that they needed to meet rather quickly. As they are bonding, Morrigan is dead set on stopping the bonding process. I will not give anything away. You need to read the story and drink it all in. I promise you that Tracker will keep your eyes, mind and body focused on the story and how Lynette and Riley try to become one. Will they make it? Read on to find out.

Fractured Hearts-Prospect (Grimm Wolves MC Book 7) by D.M. Earl – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

It’s another amazing book!!! This is book seven of the Grimm Wolves Mc Series. This is the third book of this series that I have read. I absolutely love the Grimm Wolves and how they work. This is Frank (Dingo) and Celee’s (Celestina) story. Dingo met her thru a dating app of all the places to meet someone, which it makes the story feel more like reality then a story. Celee is actually related to a member of the Devil Handmaiden’s MC. They both come from similar backgrounds and have been hurt so much. Can they love and keep Celee from getting killed? I promise you that this is a book you can’t put down. I literally started and finished reading it on the same day. But all of D.M. Earl’s book are like that for me.

Safe Harbor (Logan McKenna Series Book 5) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

OMG!!!!! This book literally had me on edge from the middle to the end. Logan McKenna is an amazing character but I feel like she just puts herself in these positions instead of being thrown into them. Logan and her family are finally on vacation, however it turns into a very scary situation for Logan. I don’t know if I could do what Logan did though. The murder of a local outsider named Adam pulls Logan and a few others at risk of possible losing their own lives. There are moments of “What?? She didn’t” to “The cops are so going in the wrong direction”. I should tell you that this is the 2nd book that I have read of the Logan McKenna series and the author never seems to lose me in them. I absolutely loved this book!!!! There are more of this series so I am definitely going to read them.

Sins of the Father (The McIntire County Series Book 3) by Winter Austin – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book three in the McIntire County Series. Jolie Murdoch is the newest deputy in McIntire County. Her first job is to find a missing girl. While looking for the girl, Deputy Murdoch finds herself in front the suspect (the father of the missing child). The problem is that he is dead but he is not alone. There enters Xavier, a former marine who has a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), finds himself in some unwanted attention for the death of the missing girl’s father. However, he doesn’t remember any thing that happened before, during or after because he blacked out. It’s a lot of twist and turns in this one, but Winter Austin really has a knack for bringing all the twists and turns into an amazing story. I would like to point out, that I am reading these book out of order, I don’t recommend that you do. I should have started with book one and worked my way down but I will finish this series.

Liar, Liar (The McIntire County Series Book 4) by Winter Austin – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book four in the McIntire County Series. FBI Agent Liza Bartholomew follows the information about an elusive scam artist whom she has been looking for to Eider, Iowa. Sheriff Shane Hamilton is not very thrilled with an FBI agent in his county. Little did Shane know that this Liza would be the opening he needed in his personal life as well as his professional life.  Love, anger, resentment and a little sass is throughout the story. I could not put this book down!!!!! I literally read it from Sun Up to Sun Down. It had me on my seat the entire time. There are dead bodies, fires, and a some drama from the police department. I promise you that this book is one of the many that you will not be able to put down.
