Cade (Default Distraction #3) by A.S. Roberts – Review by Kerry Baker

  1. Cade (Default Distraction #3)Cade by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cade by A.S. Roberts is the third book in the Default Distraction series. Each of these books can be read as standalones although personally I think they are best read in order as you learn about the characters from the start.
This book is just brilliant. The characters have such an intense chemistry I could feel it in every page. Their connection was immediate and is definitely what drew me in to this story. Once I had started reading about them I simply couldn’t stop.
I am really enjoying this series. Each book seems to be better than the last, even when I can’t believe the author could make it any better. The stories and gripping and the characters are varied and interesting. I find they are all capturing my attention but all for completely different reasons. This is an extremely good series and one I would recommend.

Summer Princess (Dark Fae Book 1) by Sloane Murphy – Review by Liz Vrchota

Summer PrincessSummer Princess by Sloane Murphy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book! Like I am legit struggling with how to properly blubber on about it with as much passion and excitement that I want to without giving away too much and spoiling this gem for anyone else. This is a new author to me and honestly I went in blind solely based off the bada** cover that graces it. I was so glad to find that the contents behind that cover would blow me away just as much as it did. This book will take you on a journey you didn’t know was missing from your life and leave you addicted and craving the next fix/book as soon as you possibly can get your hands on it. I know that is exactly where I am right now. Only saving grace for me was I can go read other released novels of hers while I wait!

Summer Princess is quite the tale of love, drama, danger, fae, and mystical creatures that will surely steal your heart away. Almost immediately you are thrust into this dark and disparaging world with the main character, Emilia. She is forced to find a way to survive in the darkness right along with the fae themselves. What will ensue will be an adventure and a romance you don’t want to miss. I can’t say enough good about this book so go read it for yourself and find out just what you are missing!

Hail Mary by Hope Anika – Review by Liz Vrchota

Hail MaryHail Mary by Hope Anika
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have yet to read a Hope Anika book that I have not enjoyed, but Hail Mary has to be my favorite so far of hers. I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I went into this book. The cover, although gripping still, left me wondering what this book really was all about, and so I went in blind. The character development in this novel, like most of Anika’s characters, is on point and done so that you feel as if you are reading about realistic and true people. I loved how I was transported right there with Beau and Wynn as they trafficked their way through this mystery they found themselves wrapped up in. I love the romance that kindles but stays a supporting storyline to enjoy rather than being the focus of the story. This is one that you won’t want to put down as soon as you dive into that first chapter and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book Anika pens. I am sure I will love it just as much!

Serenade by TK Lawyer – Review by Liz Vrchota

SerenadeSerenade by TK Lawyer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

TK Lawyer is a new author to me, so I had no idea what I was going to get when I picked up Serenade by her. It was quite the fast and interesting read. I loved how this may not be my go to for choice of genre but I thoroughly still found myself enjoying the book. I am curious to see what else she has written that I can sink my teeth into soon. I look forward to seeing if we will get more along the same storyline as this one though as well.

In Serenade we get the story of Evan and Kingsley. I loved how these two were both pushing/pulling each other. It made me sit on the edge of my seat to figure out how this would all turn out for them. Kingsley is a wolf shifter and that throws in some extra drama for the two. I won’t go into much more details because I feel they would destroy the story for you. You will just have to take my recommendation and scoop this up to find out for yourself. I am sure you will find yourself falling in love with these two soon!

Devil’s Spawn (Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6) by Manda Mellett – Review by Moriah Venable

Devil's Spawn (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6)Devil’s Spawn by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Spawn is the sixth novel in the Colorado Chapter series by Manda Mellet. This is my sixth novel by this author.

From an explosion that caused an brain injury, Lizard no longer remembers his wife Vanna or his son Cas. After two years of trying to make things work, Vanna finally makes the decision and raises her son on her own.

But years later, Cas has become a troubled teenager and she believe some time with this father will help.

I don’t want to give too much of this novel away. I don’t read too many memory loss stories but I do love reading them and seeing how everything unfolds.

This was a rollercoaster ride filled with heartache and second chances.

My favorite of the series so far.

Red Riding Hood (Down the Rabbit Hole) Anthology – Review by Lisa Helmick

Red Riding HoodRed Riding Hood by Autumn Sand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a nice collection of stories. They are fun because they all have a common theme running through them. They have genres from horror to erotica and others in between. Some of these were enjoyable. A few of them seemed a bit short and I wasn’t a big fan of the insta-love.

Little Red’s by Darlene Tallman was a favorite. Wolf packs are a story i enjoy and this one filled that void. The characters were believable and the story cute.

Cloaked by Lia Fairchild really drew me in and was very inventive. I liked the characters and enjoyed the twists and turns. I really could have read this one over again.

A few others were Ruby by Autumn Sand and River Runs Red by Kay Elle Parker. I liked them…they were pretty sexy. I just wish there was more to each of them.

5-Stars

Cade (Default Distraction #3) by A.S. Roberts was an exciting romance. I absolutely love this series and the characters in them. This book takes place along the same time line as the first two books and I do not recommend reading it as a standalone. This book focuses on Winter and Cade. Both characters were written well in this novel and I loved the background provided. Winter was always a curious one to me in the first few books so I enjoyed getting to read her story. Cade is a hot and there was more to him than I originally thought. This storyline had a great flow and was organized well. Great read!

Red Riding Hood (Down the Rabbit Hole) Anthology – Review by Sara Oxton

Red Riding HoodRed Riding Hood by Autumn Sand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Red Riding Hood (Down the Rabbit Hole) a five-star read that would have you going into the woods. This is a fabulous selection of short stories by different authors, all telling their own version of Little Red Riding Hood, each story has a different take, some do different genres and some just turn it its head. This is filled with compelling stories and I loved them all, but I have to say Autumn Sand puled it out of the bag, maybe its just my personal circumstances right now, but that one touched me close. Another two that I really felt deserve special mention as they both either told a great story, or just had that extra special something and they were Cloaked by Lia Fairchild and Amy Allen. Well done all on these amazing stories.

Hail MaryHail Mary by Hope Anika
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hail Mary by Hope Anika is an enthralling read and the storyline is exciting and the plot is done well. It is a mystery romance story with lots of emotions, where there are both moments of hilarity and others are sad and tragic but it keeps you on your toes as you traverse the web Hope has weaved together. It is a tale where you feel like you are walking the walk right along with them as you set out to catch a killer. The characters are well developed and lovable.

Beau Greystone is a former DEA agent and now a sheriff who is haunted by the past and the murder of his wife. Who is now on the hunt for a killer.

Wynn Owens has trust issues and does not take to people easily due to her past. However, when she meets a certain sheriff sparks fly and she wonders if she can let him in.

Well worth the read.

Fish this story was sweet. Like the perfect sun sweet tea my grandma made. You can’t read this story and not feel that little bloom of hope. You get so many emotions through every page that you feel like you’re apart of the story. That their lives effortlessly entwine with yours. This story takes you on a ride that many young adults face. Where you see your life going one way and reality steps in and sends you to place you never saw coming. Drew and Marielle story will touch your heart in so many ways. I couldn’t believe how good this story was. It was a quick read that will last a lifetime. I wish it was longer but I definitely got my daily dose of feels. I don’t think I would be as strong as these two characters with all they go through. I found Marielle to be strong and interestingly unique. Drew is headstrong and brave. Definitely check out this book well worth it.

Devil’s Spawn (Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6) by Manda Mellett – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Devil's Spawn (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6)Devil’s Spawn by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book has a couple of storylines that are taking place simultaneously. Although they are separate, they are intertwined and connected to make a larger story. As a fan of the previous Satan’s Devils MC books, this book delved deeper into their lives and provided the stories for some of the characters that I have enjoyed from previous books.

This book focuses on Lizard and Mace. Both are members of the MC that we have met in previous books. Like in previous books, we are introduced to new characters that will turn the lives of these men upside down. Both Lizard and Mace are die-hard bachelors that enjoy the freedom to spend evenings with the sweet butts, sometimes even sharing the sweet butts between themselves. However, Lizard has a past that refuses to let him go and Mace meets a woman who deserves more than the one night he usually gives civilian women.

Vanna and Shayla are new characters in this book…and they are both extremely strong characters. They have been dealt crappy hands in life and have done what they needed to do in order to survive and keep moving forward. I found myself enjoying both of them and wanted them to get the happiness they have earned.

This is one of those series that just gets better as it goes forward. We are constantly getting to learn more about the members of the MC, with characters from the past making appearances in every book. I am invested in these characters and am looking forward to future books. And that epilogue…I need to know more about those characters ASAP!

I loved how Kingsley approached the situation with his mate and how he took his time getting to know her. Eva also had her own surprises but I loved how she let her true colors shine with him. She was a fascinating character and definitely my favorite. I loved the setting of this novel in Alaska as well as the inn. Such a wonderful read and I highly recommend it.

The drama and suspense and slight mystery only added to the appeal of the novel. This one reminds me a bit of the Throne of Glass novels in a way. This is a quick read, but so worth your time. Get ready to read this Paranormal Romance.

Dragomir is a magician, who is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. Between PTSD, the curse and his red hot anger, he is ready to explode. To get through his anger, he boxes illegally. Fighting is about all he can do, he thinks. Until he meets a pretty witch, who thinks she can cure him. Can Ida really help him with his curse? Can Dragomir focus on his curse and not bedding Ida?

Katarina Ross is a new author for me. But that won’t keep me from reading more of her books. While this is a quick read, it is complete. Her characters are powerful and their scenes are steaming. Katarina also has a flair for writing paranormal stories. Not for those under 18, due to adult theme. Thank You Katarina Ross! Well Done!!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lisa: Coming of Age by KM Lowe is the first book in The Guardian Shifters series. I absolutely loved this story. The main character Lisa faces so many challenges and uncertainties, but her character remains strong. She relies on those around her, her adopted family, her best friend Marcus, and his father Jasper, to help her get through discovering a world that was completely new to her. Lisa and Marcus’s relationship was truly special. They shared a bond from childhood and then fell in love with each other. Marcus is so protective of Lisa because they are soul mates. They seem unstoppable, but they face some challenges that would rock any relationship. I really enjoyed reading Lisa’s journey as she explored a new part of her life and I look forward to reading other stories in this series.

Two Hearts Unlikely Heroes (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance #9)Two Hearts Unlikely Heroes by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

TWO HEARTS UNLIKELY HEROES is the ninth book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance series by Tamara Ferguson.

This book has a little bit of everything, suspense, romance, humor, etc. more on the romance than the suspense of the previous books but it worked.

Sam is amazing, she’s a very strong woman who demands respect from her soldiers and she gets it. She has no idea what to expect when she meets Ben.

Ben is very much like the men we met before, but seems to be more in touch with his feelings and not scared of love.

I love the dogs in this series and want to see more of them and will keep my eyes out for the next book.

Lisa was prepared to go to college and have her best friend by her side. However, she soon finds out that who she is and what she is something out of a fantasy book. Her whole view of the world has been turned upside down, but will she be able to live with what it entails.

I enjoyed this paranormal story. This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite. I never hesitate to pick up this author’s books. They are well written with connectable, lovable characters that make the story realistic. This book is no different. It is a story of a witch, wolf and fated love. Kingsley is a wolf who has given up on finding a mate until he meets Eva. Eva has given up on men but there is something about Kingsley she can’t resist. Can a wolf and a witch be life mates? I love their chemistry and their attraction to each other. They are strong characters that kept me turning pages, I had to know what happened to them. Is it possible that they will find their HEA? I highly recommend reading their story to find out what happens with them.

Serenade
By TK Lawyer
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Serenade by TK Lawyer. I love wolf shifter books and this story is an example of the reason why. The book pulled me in from the beginning and I quickly found myself lost in the story of Kingsley and Eva. Kingsley is a wolf that hasn’t found his mate. While he may be popular with the women he meets, he is looking for the other half of his soul. Eva is a woman who after her last relationship has decided not to date. While she finds Kingsley handsome and charming, she doesn’t believe that he is for her. He can have any woman he wants. Kingsley recognizes Eva from the first moment she came into the room. Eva is falling for Kingsley. What will happen when she finds out he is a wolf-shifter? What does the future hold for Eva and Kingsley? Read this book to find out. I love how Eva is kind and caring. Kingsley is at a loss on how to get Eva to accept him as her mate. I grew to care about both of them with each chapter that I read, and I wanted them to find happiness. There are other characters that are introduced and many of them become friends with Eva. There are also a few that have their own agenda and plans. This is a book that has an atmosphere of romance and some scenes are red hot to read. I would highly recommend this story.

The Player (Men of WarHawks Book 2) by Jacquie Biggar – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Player (Men of WarHawks Book 2)The Player by Jacquie Biggar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Player is the 2nd book in the Men Of WarHawks series by Jacquie Biggar. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. I had not read the first book before reading this although I had read other work by this author. I will be going back to read the first book now as I really enjoyed this one.
Roy Donaldson is a top NHL player whose career has taken a bit of a dive due to a psycho ex-girlfriend spreading lies about him. To help his career, his team bring in sassy PA Patience Kennedy to sort him out. Just what he wants, another woman trying to organise him!
This book flows quickly and keeps you gripped to the story by adding elements of humour, romance, drama etc. The very first meeting between Roy and Patience in the locker room, when he thinks she’s a reported looking for a story, is particularly funny. The book was much more dramatic than I had anticipated. Jacquie Biggar does a fantastic job of writing the dramatic scenes with the psycho ex as everything comes to a dramatic conclusion.
Added to the drama is the attraction between Roy and Patience. She is the total opposite of everything he’s ever looked for in a woman but he can’t help his growing attraction and feelings towards her, some of which adds to the humorous element of the story, particularly when Patience’s older brothers are added to the fun and games.
I’d definitely recommend this book to others.

Wow, this nothing close to anything I have ever read before!!! I love that it is so unique — in the world of the Paranormal, so much has been done that it is so refreshing to see something this unique. The main characters intrigue me and I hope we learn more about them in another, longer book. The struggles he has and the way they control it — wow. I will say that this contains explicit BDSM scenes, so if that is not something you want to read about, this may not be for you. I you are okay with it, I highly recommend reading this. It is not very long, and I had no idea what to expect. But once I kept going, I found it hard to put down until I finished. I commend the author greatly!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dragomir is an outcast magician who is trying to live his life one moment at a time. Having been cursed, there are times he can’t cope with it and the end result can harm others. His fellow magicians just want to protect themselves and others. Whereas Dragomir understands that, it doesn’t make it any less painful. Ida feels like she can help him if he would just allow her to. With her ways, he can keep stuff under wraps a lot easier. After all its not like it’s been proven that he can trust others. Can he trust her? Can she trust he won’t hurt her? Her teaching is rather unconventional but effective. Their journey though isn’t easy. Will love conquer all?

I enjoyed the fact that this was a little different than the normal PNR that I normally read. I also loved that Ida was in a position that was not the usual one considering the bondage. Both characters are strong types which makes them even more combustible when they come together! I would really like to see this be extended out or become a continuing storyline in another book for them. Really well written, and I enjoyed it.

Rockin’ It Home: a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly – Review by Cassi Rogers

Rockin' It Home (Lawson Family #3)Rockin’ It Home by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rockin’ It Home by Tracey Cramer-Kelly is the third book in the Lawson Family Novel series. I will say that I have enjoyed all the books I’ve read thus far in the series… but this one has been my favorite so far. I’m sure you could read this book as a stand-alone, if you really wanted to. However I wouldn’t advise that. I think that to get a better understanding of Ben, you need to read the previous 2 books in the series. I was wondering when his book was going to come along.. and here it is. Ben has a hellacious past. He hasn’t always been the best person, and as a rocker in a band, it was so easy for him to make terrible decisions. I like books that are kind of like enemies to lovers… and if you like them too, you should definitely read this book. I liked how it started out between Ben and Danielle, with them trying to skirt around and avoid one another. After time, a kind of friendship develops, and things just take off from there. I was thrilled to see Ben in a better place, making better decisions, and finally ending up happy. I could feel all of the emotions in this book and see the scenes play out before me. Tracey is an excellent writer, who has outdone herself once again. Add this book to your reading list, along with the others in the series, you won’t be disappointed.

Rockin’ It Home is the third book in the Lawson Family series by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This is by far the best book of the series. This is Ben’s story and much anticipated by me. This series should be read in order, because you will miss much of the backstory, if you don’t. This read is full of feel and it grabbed my attention from the very first page. Ben is a Rock Star in need of a babysitter and Danielle is just the person for the job. The characters are strong and very relatable. The subject of addiction was truly well written and the plot had me reading long into the night. I’m looking forward to more books by Ms. Cramer-Kelly. Her book keep getting better and better. She is now officially on my TBR list.
