One last chance…

The only place rock star Benjamin Lawson really feels at home is on stage. Offstage, his life is another story. Resisting the temptation of the bottle is a constant struggle, even though his drinking left a trail of destruction behind him. He’s not thrilled to be saddled with a keeper, but having someone to help him stay on the straight and narrow may be his last chance, not only to atone for his past, but to keep his visitation rights to the only person who matters: his daughter.

It’s just a job…

The last thing video producer Danielle de Luca wants is to babysit a spoiled rock star. But with work in Hollywood hard to come by, and family debts to pay off, she reluctantly accepts the personal assistant job. All she has to do is keep the Rick Springfield look-alike out of trouble and off the booze. Everything should be fine as long as she keeps the relationship strictly business—not so easy when Ben is sex personified every time he picks up a guitar.

Home is where the heart is…

Ben’s a lover, not a fighter, and women are almost as good a distraction as alcohol. But when an overzealous fan goes too far, can Ben open his heart to Danielle’s help? As she struggles to hide the shocking truth about her own family, can Danielle help Ben discover that his true home isn’t when he’s rockin’ it on the stage, but when he’s in the arms of those who truly love him for himself?

Many experiences influence Tracey’s writing and she has been known to undertake unusual endeavors (such as firefighter training and learning to fly a helicopter) just for the sake of the experience. Being an Army-trained combat medic and a “biker chick” for over 30 years has had significant influence in her books, but even “ordinary” events have struck a chord or inspired a character or plot idea.

In 2018 Tracey returned to school to recertify as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and currently works at various sporting and music events when she’s not processing orders for the family business (Leader Motorcycle) or working at a substance abuse counseling center.

Tracey lives in small-town Minnesota with her husband, two kids, and two cats. They are a true “soccer family” (she even worked as a referee for two years). She enjoys downhill skiing and spending time at the family lake place.

2am Secrets by M. Piper – Review by Angela Hayes

2am Secrets2am Secrets by M. Piper
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

2AM Secrets by M. Piper may be the first book that I have read from this author, but it certainly won’t be the last. It was such a fun and sexy read_ I am really kicking myself for not ‘discovering’ Ms. Piper’s books before now. The exciting part is now that I have, I can explore all her other works too- something I am definitely looking forward to.
This is a very hot and spicy brothers’ best friend/best friends sister contemporary romance that just sizzles off the pages. But there is more to the story than just a steamy story- there is humour, emotion, fun, passion, romance, banter, secrets, tension, heartache, a little drama, and fantastic characters. I really connected with the characters, getting all wrapped up in their story and rooting for them right from the beginning.
Sadie has had feelings for Archer for as long as she can remember- he’s always been a part of her life. But, he’s her twin brother’s best friend- which makes him off limits- not to mention he’s almost like a brother to her too. She definitely shouldn’t have ‘those’ kind of feelings for him- so she tries to act like he doesn’t affect her, but there is a sexy, flirty, charged tension in the air whenever he’s around.
Archer has wanted Sadie for the longest time- life just wouldn’t be the same without her in it- and would really love to be more than just her brother’s best friend. He wants Sadie. Come New Year’s Eve feelings and chemistry combust- leading to a secret tryst. What happens when secrets are revealed? This is well worth the read to find out…
Can’t wait to explore more of M. Piper’s work!

Thank you, M. Piper!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am a sucker for brother’s best friend/forbidden romances…and this one delivers! Sadie is a bartender in Chicago. Sam works for the security company that his best friend, Archer, runs. Sam and Sadie have a rule that they will never date each other’s friends. Up until now…that has never been a problem. There has always been a connection between Sadie and Archer, but they never acted on it…until New Year’s Eve. And once the door was opened…there was no going back.

The story that follows is full of secret rendezvous and stolen kisses. Sadie and Archer know that Sam will not accept their relationship…but they are helpless to stop their own happiness. There were moments of happiness, anger, and despair throughout the book. There were also a lot of other storylines introduced that could (hopefully) be stories in the future. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for them.

2AM Secrets is my first book by M. Piper and all I can say is I want more. From the first chapter, I was hooked and couldn’t put this book down. Archer is Sadie’s twin brother’s best friend and of course, Archer is off-limits but that doesn’t stop these two from having secret feelings for each other. Archer is ready to stake his claim on Sadie, but will one night be enough or are they going to have to sneak around? And we know someone is going to catch them it’s only a matter of time.

WARNING – your reading device may see some smoke, due to some very hot bedroom scenes. This book will have you laughing out loud and rooting for this couple to make it work. I can’t wait to see if there is going to be a second book about Sam and one of Sadie’s friends.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

2AM Secrets by M. Piper is a first for me by this author and I enjoyed the story very much. This intriguing story had all the right ingredients for a hot and steamy romance, there is the hot best friend of the hot but moody brother, love and loss, heartbreak and heartache, secrets and lies, laughter and hot and sizzling sexy time. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and Ms Piper did a great job on them and with the telling of her story.

Archer has loved her for so long he can’t imagine not having her in his life, but he wants more. Unfortunately, there is one thing standing in his way, his best friend. But doesn’t he deserve to have what he wants?

Sadie is always dancing around the man she has loved her whole life, but it can never be, all because he is her brother’s best friend and that is a definite no go no matter what her heart wants.

I loved it so much I need to have more.

2am Secrets by M. Piper wasn’t excellent and addictive read. It was romantic, funny, and steamy. Brothers best friend falls for sister. I loved it. Archer was amazing in more ways than one and so was Sadie. Sam, the brother definitely had some issues going on. This was a whirlwind story and I loved the amount of love that existed between everyone, including their sweet Mimi. I also have a Mimi and felt a personal connection here. The storyline moved along very well and was organized. Oh, and the ending was amazing. I mean seriously wow and sweet. This was such a fantastic book and it definitely earned its 5-stars. I highly recommend it.

This is a hot, steamy brother’s best friend type of book that once I started it I couldn’t put it down. This is a well written story with characters that pop off the pages. They kept the story engaging and turning pages fast. I loved their chemistry together. Archer is the brother’s best friend and she has always had a crush on him. What will happen when they can’t resist each other? Will hearts get hurt or will they be able to keep their secret? I highly recommend their story, it is a must read.

I loved reading 2am Secrets by M. Piper. The story is romantic as well as steamy. The temperature in the room will rise when reading. I was pulled in from the beginning and didn’t want to put the book down until I had read the last page. I loved reading about the main characters. She has a crush on her brother’s best friend. He feels the same way about her. There is a strong attraction and the chemistry between them is off the charts. They fit together. They also are keeping their attraction secret from her brother. What would happen if her brother found out? What does the future hold for the two of them? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the whole way through. There are heartbreaking moments as well as heartwarming ones. I enjoyed reading about the main characters and I was rooting for them to find happiness. I’m new to this author but I’m completely hooked! I loved reading this hate/lust story and I haven’t ever read anything like it. Gabriella is a completely sassy character who I just loved reading and Christian can totally sling it right back to her. When a temporary truce is made and a gesture they didn’t se coming, all of a sudden both are questioning themselves and their beliefs towards one another.

I completely loved the banter between the two characters. They kept me on the edge of my seat and their chemistry sizzled off the pages!

Archer was my brother’s best friend. He had been in our lives since before our parents died, he saw us through the wreckage, and he grew up in my brother’s bedroom playing video games.

He should have felt like a brother to me.

But he never did.

New Year’s Eve changed everything.

Hell wasn’t pining after your brother’s best friend in secret for years on end. Hell wasn’t wondering if he even noticed you when you passed him in the hallway at midnight.

No, that wasn’t hell. Hell was knowing how well you fit with someone and not being able to do a damn thing about it. We knew what we were doing. We knew someone would get hurt, but the attraction was too strong.

And we were both too weak.

You can’t keep 2am secrets forever…and when ours crashed, they burned.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A KISS BENEATH A STRAWBERRY MOON is the third book in Daydreams & Dragonflies Rock ‘N Sweet Romance series by Tamara Ferguson. It is a sweet, heart-warming, and very enjoyable contemporary romance- with a little drama, a wounded warrior aspect, music, and more. I think I have read most of Ms. Ferguson’s books now, and with each new release I am always excited to see what she has in store for us. This book was everything I have come to expect from Ms. Ferguson- a really well written and charming story- showcasing wonderful characters who not only have depth, but are also realistic, relatable, and entirely believable. Ms. Ferguson’s warm, easy and inviting style pulls you into her story, then coaxing you further and further into the book- not wanting to leave, and easily reading the story in one sitting.
We follow Marielle McKinnon and Drew Kendall, who were such endearing characters. They have a love of music in common as Marielle is a talented vocalist, while Drew is a skilled composer. Plans for the future unexpectedly change when family drama sees Drew leaving college and joining the military. While in Iraq, Drew is badly injured and doesn’t want to be a burden- so he cuts contact with Marielle. Will this be the end of their love story, or can their love survive?
This really is a lovely story that will have you invested in these wonderful characters and the outcome of their story- turning the pages to see if they are fated to be together in the end.

Thank you, Ms. Ferguson!

I loved reading the story A KISS BENEATH A STRAWBERRY MOON (Daydreams & Dragonflies Rock ‘N Sweet Romance 3) by Tamara Ferguson. It is a sweet romance book that hooked me from the very beginning, and I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Marielle McKinnon and Drew Kendall. Marielle is a wonderful vocalist and is finding that her future is bright as a rising star. She also has fallen hard for Drew. Drew is a composer and writes wonderful songs. Marielle is his inspiration. They have a magical summer together and are ready to take the next steps in their lives. What will the future hold for Drew and Marielle when a situation occurs that means that they will be apart? Will their love survive an injury that Drew received in Iraq? Will they get another chance to kiss beneath a strawberry moon? Read this book to find out. I grew to care about what happened to Marielle and Drew with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. This book has heartbreaking and also heartwarming moments. I enjoyed many of the other characters that interact with Drew and Marielle. They are supportive of them. This is a story that I thought about even after I had finished reading it. This is a story that you don’t want to miss out on. I would highly recommend.

King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story by Brienne Dubh is my first time reading anything of hers and I have to say I went in blindly solely based off the cover and quick blurb. I do love the cover, it’s bright and simple design is absolutely eye catching. I am glad I gave this a go as it was a fun and quirky read for me. I found myself laughing out loud at several moments and was sincerely wrapped up in the beautiful disaster that is Christian and Gabriella.

These two main characters seriously can’t stand each other, no matter how much they may get each other’s engines going as far as physical attraction goes. What happens when life situations force them to be around each other and question the feelings blooming between them. I love the quick and light quips that break up the seriousness that is sometimes discovering love and lust. I will for sure be around to see what will come next from Brienne Dubh!

King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate StoryKing & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story is a great novella from Brienne Dubh. I had never previously read any of this author’s work but Brienne Dubh sure packs a lot into this 136 page novella.
Christian Hunt and Gabriella King have hated each other for over 10 years. Unfortunately Christian is the twin brother of Gabby’s best friend so they have to see each other. When Gabby attends the twins 30th birthday party, after all the insults have been thrown at each other, they agree to call a truce. A truce that leads them to the bedroom as they both agree that although they hate each other, there is a wild attraction/lust simmering. What was meant to be a ‘once and done’ leads to both wanting another taste of each other.
I loved this novella so much. The insults that both characters threw at each other were hilarious. He called her Gobby and she called him Hunt but they both knew she meant it to begin with a C (I loved the author’s explanation here). The bedroom scenes are hot and steamy and the author also manages to throw in some humour here too.
I really enjoyed this novella and would definitely recommend it to others.

In Order Words is the first novel in the Boothbay Harbor series by Pamela Q. Fernandes. This is my first novel by this author.

Trish is a pianist who has been betrayed by her boyfriend of three years.

The woman he is with now is also her manager.
Trish has her own personal issues to come to terms with including her own bitterness from bad relationship choices and her being adopted from Korea.

When she moves into a new home, can she find love again when she meets her neighbor and chef Micheal Quentin.

This novel really made me feel for Trish and her overcoming her own issues. I wanted her to find herself and feel love again.

I don’t want to give too much away.

I suggest reading this for someone looking for something different to read.

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn – Review by Angela Hayes

Before the Second ShowBefore the Second Show by Thia Finn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn is a superb Rockstar romance. It is my first read from Thia Finn- and wow, have I been missing out on some great reading by not having discovered her sooner. Something I plan to rectify now, by diving into her catalogue of books in the very near future.
I will be completely honest here and let you know that initially I chose this book as a bit of a ‘palate cleanser’, after some really intense stories left me with a heavy book-hangover. I wanted something light and fun, an easy read to get me back on track. While this was all those things- I definitely underestimated the story- because even though I knew I would love it (because, DUH- Rockstar romance, what’s not to love), I found that I loved it far more than I thought I would. It only took a couple of pages into the book, and I was hooked- avidly reading to discover where the story would lead. I became far more invested in the story and the characters than I expected- which made this book a fantastic ‘surprise’.
While there were times I didn’t like where the story was headed, or what the characters were doing- and times I wanted to shake some sense into them- I still couldn’t tear myself away from the story, and ended up reading it in one sitting.
There were a few little issues which confused me- but in the end they didn’t detract too much from the overall storyline.
I will definitely be reading more of Thia Finn’s books- I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me!

Thank you, Thia Finn!

Around Midnight by Zarina Macha, is a YA romance story that shows the raw feelings of first time love and the uncaring side of a boy who thinks nothing but himself. It is full of angst and betrayal, love and hurt, confusion and loss. It is a quick read but complex read that packs all the emotions for young love. It is easy to forget how wounding a fist love can sometimes be. I found myself loving Vince and Megan but that soon turned to hate for a boy who is toxic and manipulated and pressured and shown he was a nasty, nasty piece of work and for Zarina to inflect those sorts of emotions to the reader means she did a good job at writing him and the story.

Being a person with no instrumental talents I love listening to people pay what’s in their heart. Passion is a great motivator. It gives that person a fire inside to keep going and never backing down. Trish is trying to heal after her boyfriend cheats. Some people don’t think you should dwell on the pain. But it’s so much better for you in the long run to face it now. Get all the ugly cries out so that the next time that person name is said you feel nothing. I really like Michael. His character was almost perfect. Which is perfect no girl what’s a perfect guy. Just a guy that’s perfect for her. The author gave the characters a great start and the story progressed without a problem. There are many parts of this book that will make you wish you were a millionaire so that you could really do some good. This is definitely a book meant to pull on your heartstrings.

This was a very emotional read. Trish, who is looking for love and to be loved can’t seem to find it no matter how hard she tries. She is adopted and certain things she experienced growing up has shaped her need to belong. Before the Second Show by Thia Finn – Review by Susan Mowdy

Before the Second ShowBefore the Second Show by Thia Finn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read from Thia Finn and I loved it. It’s sometimes hard to branch out from different authors that we love but this one definitely made the group! This story captivated me and I could not stop reading! Even if hearts are broken and paths are crossed again you learn that there are different sides to every story and LOVE will always win. This is one emotional story but one that was so beautiful to read! I cannot wait to read more from Thia Finn!!!!!

Before The Second Show by Thia Ginn – Review by Raylene Green

Before the Second ShowBefore the Second Show by Thia Finn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a standalone, but there definitely needs to be more because WOW! It starts with your typical teenage crush. Trace gives Emmy her first kiss and she never forgets him…knowing that they have chemistry and wishing for another chance to see him because shes convinced it’s love. And when they meet again a few years later while Emmy is in college, shes crushed when Trace doesnt remember her. Fate brings her Marcus…or so she thinks until fate steps in again in the best way possible.
Great writing, great story line, great chemistry, and all around fantastic book! Im excited to read Thia again!!!!

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn – Review by Jana Teppih

Before the Second ShowBefore the Second Show by Thia Finn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Before the Second Show is a beautiful second chances rock star romance by Thia Finn. It is the first book I have read by this writer and I know that from now on I will keep my eyes out on anything new that she releases. I absolutely love second chances stories and I also love stories that span over long period of time (whether in actual narrative or simply jumping the years and giving us the experience of those years passed).
Before the Second Show gives us Emmy and Alex. Emmy is our young teenager filled with angst and dreams and in the throes of a young love that goes unanswered, Alex is your quintessential musician – sex, drugs and rock’n’roll! Add to the mix Marcus, a guy who is perfect on paper and seems just the right man for Emmy to move on with and leave the teenage crush behind …
As it is a story of second chances then it is not as simple as it could be and the writer takes us on a rollercoaster ride. She gives us banter and she gives us craziness as there is a whole gang aka Trace band members along on the ride that makes it even wilder and makes us hope that Before the Second Show is just a beginning to a series that we all rocker girls, young and mature, want to go back to!
