Thia Finn is a new author to me and this book couldn’t have been a better way to be introduced to her writing. I completely enjoyed reading Before the Second Show. This book is a sweet romance that will rock your socks off along the way. Emmy always loved the rockstar life and found it intriguing. Then we have Alex who is immersed in the life and a rockstar himself that has experienced the joys and the trials that come with being famous. These two will cross paths and their lives will never be the same. Will they come out on top with a happily ever after or will they end up alone? I loved how light and easy this book was to read. I found myself devouring it quickly and in pretty much one sitting. I look forward to seeing what else might be available and what will come from Thia Finn in the future.

I won’t lie this is a hard one for me to review. I loved the cover of Broken by Love. It is stunning and who wouldn’t want to know what has to happen between the covers. Other than that I went in completely blind. I have never read anything from MJ Masucci before and I didn’t even really read the reviews or synopsis. Now that I finished the book and I can see I am not the only one who struggled with this novel a tad. I sincerely wanted to love this book and could see where if it was maybe revisited and strengthened it has the potential to be a great 5 star read. As of now its a struggle for me because this is a solid three star read. What I really struggled with was the characters in this story are in desperate need of many things including help and they really none of them should be in a relationship until they do so. It is a toxic situation amongst everyone involved yet I found that the woman makes a lot of excuses for the men who do these things to her. We need more strong and resilient women to read about these days so I struggled to get into it for that main reason. I also just could not see where this book was going. It was choppy and I struggled to find that flow that comes with a good romance read.
The concept is not bad and that is evident but it just needs more. Alexa is our main female lead and we find her starting a new job with the ex from Hades as her boss. Regardless of the fact that Alexa is engaged she still engages the boss and the behavior. Or fiance is a whole other story and he too really could you some cold hard truth and help. I wanted to see these guys end up with all different people by the end of the book. I will make an effort to see if this book has rewrites at some point and to maybe check out some other novels of hers if they are available and see if they are better.

THE RUNAROUND: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy (CAROLINA CONNECTIONS BOOK 6) By SYLVIE STEWART
5 Stars
What a perfect title for this book LOL I don’t know if Ive ever wanted to slap 2 people more than the two in this book. They made me laugh, they absolutely ticked me off, and I fell in love with both of them. This author never disappoints, I know as soon as I pick up one of her books that I need to be ready because you never know what will happen next, or what will make you crack up next.
This was an awesome story made even better with the friends and families, it’s been a long time since I read book 5 and I was a bit fuzzy on some of the characters but a lot of it came back and what didn’t, didn’t matter it was still simply amazing!
You can read this as a stand alone with no problem, but trust me when I say the books that come before it are worth every second of your time.
OMG some of the conversations in this book, and the pet names for lack of a better word literally had me dying..
I can not wait for more from all of these characters and after reading this I want to go back now and read the others all over again!

This is the first book I’ve read by MJ Masucci. All the characters in this book had me completely drawn in. I couldn’t wait to see where the love triangle with JC, Lexi and Noah was headed. In this story of love, betrayal and forgiveness you’ll get lost in the world MJ has created. I can’t wait to read the next book to see what happens! The love between JC and Lexi is something tangible and real. The story itself is one that’s been told before but this was done in such a different and interesting way. This is a wonderful new series and I want more.

5 Star Taming Zane (Almost Perfect Series Book 2) by Lisa Lanay
Taming Zane is the second book in the Almost Perfect Series by Lisa Lanay. This is a wonderfully written story that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. Shannon and Zane these two have great chemistry and definitely warms your heart. What a sweet romance story that will have you laughing at times. I highly recommend reading this story of sacrifice, fate, and falling in love. Find out what happens next . I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Landing the Lawman (The Hills of Texas Book 5) by Kadie Scott. Ok I feel like I’ve said this a time or two with this series but hey I really mean it this time! This one was my absolute favorite out of all this series. Don’t get me wrong they are all amazing but this one spoke to me differently and honestly I can’t put into words why but it did. Carter and Logan completely captured my heart from page on of this book. Each of them pulled me so deeply into their story that I didn’t and couldn’t put it down. You can read these in any order but I do highly recommend them all because they all stand to give you everything you’d want in a story. These characters just had a connection I could feel deeply. They worked well together and had me completely hooked start to finish. It’s a well thought out storyline and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I highly recommend this book, series and author. Five stars all the way!

This book is so cute! It has romance and drama, sweet moments and heartbreaking dialogue. The story of Zane and Shannon is beautiful. When Shannon meets Zane on a flight to San Francisco, I was wondering where and how this would lead them to being involved. The events leading up to them meeting again and their time spent together is all very intriguing to read and I had a feeling Shannon would be the woman to change Zane’s mind about serious relationships and move his heart. At one point I thought they were moving a little too quickly but given Zane’s age and the love he seemed to have for Shannon, I figured why not. Of course it can never be that easy and some heartbreak is involved, enough to make me question if this would ever work between them.
I would recommend this book to any romance lover, it’s a nice, quick read that I think will leave you satisfied. I really do hope there are more books to the series, more specifically centered around Shannon’s 3 brothers.

Landing The Lawman is the 5th book in the Hills of Texas series by Kadie Scott. I have to hang my head in shame and admit that I still haven’t read the 1st book in this series although I have read books 2-5. I really must get around to reading the first book as I’d love to read Cash’s story. In this book we get the story of the 5th Hill sibling, this time the one and only girl Carter, twin sister of Cash. Carter has recently broken off her engagement as she decided to put her career first, having spent many hard years working for her masters, then her PhD. Carter helps in many cases for lawyer Logan Cartez and now that she’s single she’s starting to see him as more than a friend. Logan has always admired Carter but as she was engaged, kept their relationship strictly professional. Now she’s broken off her engagement what can the future hold for Carter and Logan? Having read about her brothers, I was impatiently waiting for Carter’s story. It did not disappoint. I loved this story and was pulled in right from the first page. The interactions between Carter and Logan are so funny at times as she tries to get the stuffy lawyer to loosen up and enjoy life more. The more time he spends with her, she drags him more and more out of him comfort zone. Will Carter be able to have the career she wants and have a relationship too? Will spending so much time with Carter make Logan realise that he has missed out on so much? I recommend that you read this fantastic book to find out. While you are there, I also recommend that you read the rest of the series too as it really is awesome.

This is not what I expected for Carters Story. This is better! I love the humor and attitude she has. I don’t think I could love this family any more than I do. They make me laugh, cry and just smile a lot when I’m reading.
Now I have many favorite parts of this book but DAYUM!….Who knew Lawyer talk could be so HOT! Logan knows just how and when to use those words! I don’t think I could be in a courtroom with him after that and not be *uncomfortable* (if you know what I mean)
Logan….Logan….Logan…I love how straight laced and focused you are! But the winds of change are upon you. It’s nice to see you start breaking your mold. That last scene with you and the family??? I would have been sweating bullets or peed my pants…but you hung in there like a champ!
As always I loved seeing and hanging out with all Carters family! The brothers are a hoot in this one. Glad their wives are there to reign them in.
Overall this his highly enjoyable! The writing is so smooth. I am captured from the first paragraph and I can hardly do anything else until that last page is read. Of course then I am sad it’s already over. I will miss this crew until I pick up a book for a re-read.
*nod to the author* I LOVE the play on words with the title. Very cute! Also the jobs these two have were interesting to learn about. Thank You for these great stories!

This was such a great read. The chemistry between Shannon and Zane was instant and couldn’t wait to see where it went and how it unfolded. Shannon was strong and I loved her little quirks, i mean of course we women talk to ourselves we need expert advice after all! Zane is a confirmed bachelor and we don’t learn the exact reasons until almost the end. He feels Shannon is different and tries to distance himself from her in the emotional way as to not develop feelings.
I really liked these two, and I yelled at my kindle twice as they made stupid decisions or comments and I wanted to hit their heads together.
I hope we get more books as I want the brothers stories as they’re going to be good I know!

He wanted everything. He could have my nothings too.
My whole life, I’ve been running, living just under the radar. The day I arrived on the East Coast, looking for a new start, I found an end instead. One careless night landed me in the hands of a dark mafia boss, who wanted nothing more than to render me a number—to eviscerate my identity with his brutal mind game.
327.
That’s what he called me. That’s all I was to him.
At least at first, before Breaker Beneventi told me all his family secrets, trickled his way into my heart, and then ordered my death. He set me free, knowing the butcher would find me.
Now, I’m the girl who escaped. The one with the power to destroy his organization. And he’s relentlessly searching for Lyla Vaughn all over the country, spilling the blood of innocents and losing his control.
But he’s not going to find me. Because that’s not my name.
From Bestselling author Sonya Jesus comes “Brutal and Raw” a psychological thriller romance full of plot twists, interwoven with dark mafia romance.
Sonya’s a nerd—a cool nerd—who loves science, books, make-up and unicorns. She even has unicorn slippers and unicorn plushes adorn her office. It’s not an obsession (or so she says), it’s simply an ode to her imaginative side. Storytelling has been her passion since her youth, but her family believes it’s more than that.
Painting, sketching, carpet-making, lyrics, poetry—artistic endeavors have no limit with Sonya. They may not always come out perfect, but art serves as an outlet, which helps balance out the factual, science-driven part of her brain.
Though she’s fun-loving, complex-minded, and heart-driven, her philosophy on life is quite simple: Shit happens. Keep going.
When asked to elaborate, she said, “Believing in yourself is probably one of the hardest things to do, but look in the mirror. You’re still standing. That’s strength. Don’t underestimate yourself.”
Sonya also believes in fairytales and in the beautiful things a mind can conjure. She’s a firm believer in empowering the crazy fictional ideas, putting them down on paper, and letting them flourish into a story.
“There’s so much potential in a dream… a thought… not exploring it seems like such a waste of something absolutely beautiful.”

5 Star Before the Second Show by Thia Finn is a wonderfully written story that I found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t stop reading till the end. I absolutely love second chance romance especially if there’s a Rockstar involved somehow. Emmy and Alex ,she fell in love at sixteen with a Rockstar but he easily moves on to the next tour. Several years later she has one man wanting her and another who is standing in the way. What will happen when someone from the past reenters his life but they have no memory? Can these two have a future together? There were moments when my emotions were all over the place and other moments where I was laughing. Find out what happens next in this must read.

Landing the Lawman is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas series by Kadie Scott. This book grabbed me on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. This book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend you read the entire series. All of the previous books are fantastic. This is Carter and Logan’s story. This story is filled with romance, chemistry and witty banter that had me rooting for a HEA. I have really enjoyed this series and look forward to reading more by Ms. Scott. Review by@sunbarn

Taming Zane (Almost Perfect Series Book 2) by Lisa Lanay was a quick romantic read. I enjoyed the quick straight forward read. I enjoyed the characters, Shannon was a great read. I loved her independence and her family dynamic. Zane was kind of your typical alpha male, there was a lot of good development with him. The plot was enjoyable and the pacing was great too.

Yes, yes, yes!! I won’t lie I live for Sylvie Stewart’s spicy romantic comedies, especially her Carolina Connections series. The RUNAROUND is the sixth book in this series and believe it or not, they just keep getting better and better. I believe that with these you could read them out of order or one, but being so good why not dive in from the beginning and follow some wonderful new friends as they navigate this messy thing called life.
In THE RUNAROUND we have the story of Ari and Jax, both strong and witty characters, and the adventure that is their lives to devour. I loved how this book took what is sometimes a typical romance trope and beefed it up so to speak. This made things so much more believable and realistic, almost feeling as if I was reading a real life story and right there with the characters. I won’t give much more details than what is already given to us in the blurb because I can’t bear to spoil this book for you, but I can promise you won’t be disappointed that you read it! I can’t wait to see what we will get next from the ever so talented Sylvie Stewart!

Taming Zane is the 2nd book in the Almost Perfect Series by Lisa Lanay. Characters from the first book Loving Jake appear in this book but both books can be read as a stand-alone. As they are such awesome books, I would recommend reading both and if you are you going to read both well, you may as well read them on order lol. In Taming Zane, handsome plastic surgeon meets gorgeous professor Shannon McGregor on a flight home. She is on a trip to San Francisco to have an interview at the university. When Shannon loses her purse Zane becomes her knight in shining armour and lets her stay in his apartment. I really enjoyed reading Shannon and Zane’s journey. Their chemistry is amazing but while she wants a relationship, Zane is the eternal bachelor. This book is funny and sweet mostly but then there are times that you want to bang the 2 main character’s heads together and tell them to get their act together. There are also some really great secondary characters including Shannon’s brothers. Surely there’s a book or 2, or 3 among them. As well as these new characters, I loved getting to see Jake and Kimberly again from the first book. I look forward to see what Lisa Lanay brings with the rest of this series. I for one, will definitely be reading whatever she produces.

Landing the Lawman is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas series from Kadie Scott. If you’d like to start here and haven’t read the others that should still be possible as there is enough background info that carries through all of the novels.
In this one we get the story of the only Hill daughter, Carter, and the handsome lawyer Logan. Carter would like to find the one one day but in the meantime as she recovers from a heartbreak she swears to focus on the career that ignites her passion in other ways. She meets and works with Logan and eventually the two begin to feel a tad more than friendly feelings between them. Will the twists and turns (there are several good ones) be derimental to these two ever getting a chance at love with each other? I enjoyed this and thought it was a light hearted quick read, perfect for a Monday morning! I look forward to seeing what we will get next from Kadie Scott.

Landing the Lawman by Kadie Scott is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas series. This book can be read as a stand-alone although personally I think all these books are worth reading. As usual when I picked up this book I found myself reading a sweet and heartwarming story. This book is about the final Hill sibling, Carter, a character that I definitely loved. Her connection with Logan is lovely to read about. They have such a believable chemistry that made the book even better. The story was a well written one, developed well with a great pace to it. I easily found myself lost in the story and it was such a fun read. I have loved this series from the start and, although I am sad to see it end, I am please with how the author tied it all up. This definitely worth a read and one I will certainly go back to in the future.

The Runaround: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy by Sylvie Stewart is the sixth book in the Carolina Connections series. This is a fun, romantic series and this installment did not let me down. The series can be read as a standalone, but I think better enjoyed as a series. This time around the story focuses on Jax, a single dad to a teenage daughter and Ari, a seductive songstress. I always enjoy the dialogue in this series and this one is great also. I also enjoy the lightheartedness of the series. This is always a little get away to read a Sylvie Stewart book.

Taming Zane is the second book in the Almost Perfect series by Lisa Lanay. This is a contemporary romance- with a little drama, chemistry, humour, emotion, and more. This is Zane and Shannon’s story- who kept me entertained the whole way through. That’s not to say there weren’t times I wanted to shake some sense into them both, but I enjoyed how things came together in the end. Here’s to book #3!

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn a great read it really spoke to my heart. This is my first book by Thia and I loved it. I did want to have words with Emmy at times but the overall story and Thia’s writing wormed its way in and I could not put it down once I started it. Alex needed to realise that there is more to life than drugs, sex and rock and roll and Emmy need to find her way from teenage crush to womanhood. Now they are both a little older and wiser they are just where they need to be in life.
Emmy fell in love with a musician as a teenager and thought he felt the same way only to realise years later he had no idea who she was. Left devastated at the time but now as an adult she was finally in a place to open up to a relationship. Unfortunately, fate wasn’t done with her heart and once again she finds herself in the same place, she left behind so many years ago.
Alex lived the life a musician and rode the path of indulgence but after years of being on the road he wanted a place to call home. Now his past is finally catching up to him, there is one thing that he finds he needs more than anything, even though their paths had crossed before, but he doesn’t remember.
I truly enjoyed this story and was sorry to see it end. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

I absolutely loved this read. It was a happy, fun, sweet read! Shannon and Zane were perfect for each other. Zane is a smoking hot plastic surgeon who travels the world to donate his time to others who are in need. Shannon is close with her family…much closer then you can imagine. Her and her brothers all love within feet of each other. Shannon is flying to California for an interview for a grant. When some sexy stud sits next to her on the plane, she doesn’t know how she will get through her flight. Lucky for her, Zane is a really nice guy and is down to earth. They spend some of the flight getting to know each other and Zane gives Shannon her number so she can give him a call and he can get the name of a real estate agent his brother used. If the interview goes well, Shannon will be moving there for a little bit.
Luckily for Shannon, she finds Zane’s number and decides to call him when she she’s out shopping and realizes her wallet is not in her tote bag. Did she leave it in a store or did someone take it out of her bag? Zane is there for her In a heartbeat and let’s her stay at his place while she tries to figure out a plan. Zane and Shannon are perfect for each other but, Shannon doesn’t plan on moving from her family and Zane has patients who wait months for an appointment with him.
How can something so long distance work? You have to read this book and see if they are able to Overcome the distance. I thought this book was just an all around great read with great writing and a great storyline that will grab your attention and keep it from the first chapter.

I must say, I went into this with high hopes based off the synopsis and I feel a bit let down. I wanted a bit more depth with the characters I just couldn’t connect in a way I usually can, even in a small way. I did enjoy reading and getting to know these characters, Lexi gets a new job only to have her ex be her new boss. When feelings start to resurface between these two, there’s a battle within for Lexi. I will be going back and reading this again as I think the 2 books i read before this were deep deep romantic and sweet this just threw my reading brain off kilter. I will be reading more from this author in the future as I did like the story overall.

Landing the Lawman is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas series and a book I absolutely loved reading. I’ve truly enjoyed this entire series and I highly recommend reading this series in order you wont be disappointed if you do. I must say I think this one is my favorite yet. I found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t stop reading till I finished. This is about Logan and Carter. Logan is lawyer who is fighting for water rights and Carter has a career in hydraulics. These two have been friends for years and have really great chemistry. One night changes everything and she realizes there’s way more to him than she thought. Do these two have a future together? Can he risk getting his heart broken? Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

These two have a lot of learning to do. Compromise is the platform of marriage. Each of them is so stubborn. I could see the changes in Zane since he started as a player. Shannon I struggled with her growth. She had small steps. Her family or more accurately her brothers….they are definite future books! Protective, annoying and they just seemed to be sexy men. I also loved the tie in to Taming Jake (Book 1).
My only small issue was the child. He seemed nonexistent. I don’t think a woman (with child) would consider marrying a man without making sure they all formed a good relationship (including the child). I’m pretty sure all three had never been in the same room until the end. So that’s my bump in the road. The author did a nice job smoothing the situation over and it glossed up nicely.
Overall this is a good story. It rolls along nicely and has some surprising elements. The emotion between the characters is felt. There is also some humor that adds charm to the book.

5 Star Broken by Love (The Full Circle Series) by MJ Masucci is my first read by this Author and definitely not my last. I can honestly say there were parts of this story that drew me in and I had a hard time putting it down, then there was some moments where I found myself angry at the situation and what she was going through. Lexi is a woman who is very smart and intelligent and there’s a fiancé Noah, but her life is about to become complicated because her new boss is also her ex. What happens when secrets are revealed? What does her future look like? Find out what happens next in this must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

The Runaround: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy (Carolina Connections Book 6) by Sylvie Stewart. From page one I knew I was going to love this book. Jax and Ari are characters I won’t be forgetting any time soon, I was drawn into their story immediately. Each one has life throwing them for a curve but they handle it as well as they can. I definitely had times where I was laughing out loud and times when I was a bit more emotional with their story. It’s a well written story, paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. If you’re looking for a great story with characters you can connect with I highly recommend this story. Five stars all the way.

This author has done it again! She has the sassy, snarky, fun loving characters down to a T. This is one of my favorite series. I love these characters. I thought I had this book figured out but then a 14 yo dropped in and woosh….everything changed. Great Story!
There is an array of funny fast talking scenes. My favorite is the fortune telling texts between Ari and Jax. I also have many passages highlighted. Words of wisdom and other amazing thoughts by the characters.
I loved seeing all the characters from this series. They still make me laugh with their antics. It’s always a good time reading one of these.

Broken By Love by MJ Masucci is a story of a woman caught between her past and her present. I was intrigued by the story from the moment I read about this book and knew it was one I had to try. I hadn’t read anything by this author before so didn’t know what to expect when I turned the first pages. I did struggle to connect with the characters a little bit throughout this story. I couldn’t quite work out who I thought was best for her – if any of them – and it made it a little hard to engage with them. The story was pretty good though and had so redeeming qualities about it. Although there we aspects of it I found rushed I thought the author did ok overall good job on the story line. It certainly kept me turning the pages. I would definitely give this book another go and I will definitely look into more work by this author.
