In Other Words (Boothbay Harbor Series Book 1) by Pamela Q. Fernandes – Review by Jenni Bishop

In Other Words (Boothbay Harbor Series, #1)In Other Words by Pamela Q. Fernandes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In Other Words (Boothbay Harbor Book 1) by Pamela Q. Fernandes is a highly emotionally charged and angst-ridden romance story. It tells of one woman’s tumultuous journey into life by way of being adopted and how that shaped her. I really wanted to sit her down and straighten out her pitiful attitude, she definitely needs to take a good look at herself before getting into a relationship. Argh! Whilst I love these times tested “men don’t do a relationship” but come around at the last-minute type of stories I do get frustrated with them. This is definitely a tough and rough ride but interesting tale of longing for the one who will love you unconditionally. I was almost exhausted by the time I finished the story.

Trish was adopted but never fit in. Men loved to leave her, and she longed for love and fell into love so easily. Unfortunately, it seems love was not for her, she was unlovable.

Michael liked his life just as it is. His family where the odd ones out and they had no room for love in their lives, they were destined to be alone. So, one and done was all he would allow. He meets a beautiful yet haunted young lady who makes him want to be there for her, but he knows she will want more and that is the one thing he can’t give her.

It is still worth the read.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ink’s Devil by Manda Mellett – 5 stars!

This book can be read as a stand alone but, I would recommend reading the complete series so that you can get some of the back story on what the other characters are referencing. I read this as a stand alone and yes I could keep up, and knew what was happening at all times but there was always that little niggle in my mind that made me want to know what they were talking about in some areas. It is definitely worth the read.

Beth is an awesome woman. Although she is actually shy, timid, and sometimes self conscious because of her height, she takes care of anything and everything by herself, she doesn’t feel the need to ask anyone for help. I thought I was going to hate Ink right away but he quickly proved that he was a good man, and good enough for Beth. He didn’t have too rough of a past that most bikers in these stories do, but their story alone made up for that fact. When all the drama around the drugs starts to unfold and Beth is caught up in it all, my heart started to break because it looked as though Satan’s Devils were going to abandon her and Ink could do nothing but be helpless. Then when her dad showed his true colors everything blew up and started happening so fast, but all the truths come out.

I would highly recommend this book, it is a perfect mixture of romance, bikers, drama, and action. I read this in one day and could not put it down. The secondary characters were all interesting as well, which will make we want to rewind and go back to their books. Now I can’t wait for the next book in the series and hope it is about Ink’s best friend Mace.

The Runaround (Carolina Connections #6)The Runaround by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Runaraound by Sylvie Stewart is the 6th book in the Carolina Connections series. I am new to this author and I am IN LOVE! I love her style of writing. She has a way of making the characters really come to life with their emotions and quick wittiness. I was hooked on this story from the moment I started this book until the very last page. Ariana was an amazing character all together and I loved her throughout the whole book. She is very strong and quite humorous. I felt the strong connection between her and Jax. I felt his frustration with his newly discovered teenager. I feel as if this book couldn’t have been any better… it was written perfectly. I will be honest and say that I have not read the other books in this series. However after reading this one, I’ll be going back and giving them each the love and attention that they deserve.

Taming Zane (Almost Perfect Series Book 2) by Lisa Lanay. This was just what I needed. Something not too heavy and a fun read. The characters have a chemistry that jumps off the pages. Sometimes life likes to change what you have planned and this book shows that when Shannon meets Zane. The characters are relatable and had me completely hooked from page one. I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. It’s a sweet heart warming story that I really enjoyed. Excited to see where this author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and highly recommended.

BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan, #3)BELOVED by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beloved by Pamela DuMond is the third book in the 21st Century Courtesan series.

This is my favorite book of the series so far and I’m dying to see what happens to Evie in the next book. As I was finishing this up Moulin Rouge was on and of course I felt it was fate and had to have it on in the background.

So much happens to Evie in this book and I have no idea where to start. There’s Dylan, Wyatt and Easton all vying to be a part of Evie’s life in some capacity. Her sister Ruby, who I really want to smack for being selfish and throwing everything to Evie. Evie’s mom who is doing better but still has her issues and then there’s the stalker who we learns lot more about.

I have questions about a few things but I have a feeling they will be answered in the next book which needs to hurry up.

This is the third book in this series and wow it took me through the ringer emotionally. It is my suggestion that you read these books in order for the best experience. This story is full of mystery, intrigue, romance, and amazing characters. Evie who I have loved since the first book is a wonderful character who uses her empathic gift to help billionaire men heal. She also takes care of her mom and sister. Her boyfriend wants to move their relationship to the next level for the wrong reasons. Her first love is now part of her life, and she has a stalker after her. This author has grabbed me from the beginning and kept me entertained and wanting more everytime I finish one of her books. I CANNOT wait to read book 4, it can’t come soon enough!! I highly recommend this fantastic story you will not be sorry.

I laughed along with them, a found myself getting choked up a time or two. They really made me feel like I was on their journey with them.
I loved the story as well: it felt different to most other single dad stories I have read recently. It was entertaining and well written. This book ticked all the boxes for me and I will definitely be going back to read the rest in the series.

Taming Zane is the second book in the Almost Perfect Series by Lisa Lanay. Lisa Lanay’s characters are complex and very lovable. The story line is engaging and simple. It is the simple things that make the world go around. It is refreshing to read a book that can pull into the story and take you away from the real world troubles for a while. This is a romance story with some humor to the story. Shannon and Zane is the couple in this story. Their story is one of sacrifice, love, and fate. Can Shannon and Zane become the cutest book couple or will the sacrifices be too much for their relationship.

Beloved by Pamela DuMond is the third book in the 21st Century Courtesan series. This series keeps getting better but I highly recommend reading the books in order or you will be missing out. Evie is a highly paid courtesan down to her last four customers. She excels at her job of fixing these broken, billionaire men. These men all have a different relationship with her which makes for some interesting interactions. I enjoyed getting more concerning the relationships especially between Evie and Easton Wolfe. There is depth to the characters which I did not expect when I originally picked up the first book in the series. I look forward to more from this series in the future.

Evie is a courtesan. An extremely well paid courtesan because of her empathic abilities. She manages to heal her clients who are suffering. I loved this book because she takes care of someone with personal ties to herself and manages to heal herself a little as well. I suggest reading this series from the beginning only because there is a story that runs through them all. People want different things from her including one that wants to murder her. The author is really good in keeping her stalker a secret. The book ends on an exciting note and I think I’ve figured out who her stalker is. I can’t wait to read the next installment to see if I’m right.

The emotional rollercoaster had me turning pages fast. It is well written and engaging. The characters are connectable and brought the story to life. Trish has had some bad relationships and her last one is no different. She moves next door to a chef that may just change her mind about romance. I loved reading this book. Before the Second Show by Thia Finn pulled me in from the very beginning and I found that I didn’t want to put it down until I finished the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Emmy and Alex. Emmy fell in love with a rock star at sixteen. He, however, moves on with ease to his next tour. Years later life has a way of becoming complicated when she has one man wanting her and another standing in the way. Alex has never had a problem with women. He could have anyone he wants. What happens when someone from the past who he can’t remember reenters his life? Alex is finding that he is starting to have feelings/emotions for this girl. What does the future hold for Emmy and Alex? Will a life-altering battle change everything for Alex? Read this book to find out. This story has emotional moments. It also has moments when characters banter back and forth with each other and I found myself laughing. The characters of Alex and Emmy are likable, and I couldn’t help but care about what happens in their lives. I really enjoyed the character that is Emmy’s bestie and their interactions. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that will have you reading late into the night to find out what happens. I would highly recommend reading this book.

Beloved is the third book in the 21st Century Courtesan by Pamela DuMond. I highly recommend reading the first two books before jumping in to this book. Ms. DuMond’s characters are fully developed and complex personalities. There are different levels of support for one another. The characters are also a bit dark but are intrinsic to each other. The story is a roller coaster ride. Evie, who is one of the main characters, has only four clients left and of the four there is one who wants Evie dead. I found myself reading at a fast pace because I wanted to see what was going to happen next. I suggest reading this book to see what happens to Evie.

Landing the Lawman, (Hills of Texas #5) A Hills of Texas Romance, by Kadie Scott.
This is the fifth book in this series. I have read all of the books in this series so far, and I have absolutely loved every single one of them!!!
We have seen glimpses of Carter Hill throughout this series, so to finally get her story, was great!!! Carter and Logan have off the charts chemistry. Carter left her family and her fiancé because she wanted her career. Years have passed and she is seeing all of her brothers happily married with children here or on the way, and she knows that is what she wants. The only person in her sights to make this happen, is Logan……. they work extremely well together, could they possibly be more than just “friends”??
There are parts of Logan’s life that no one knows about. With him being on the Hill’s ranch, everything is coming back and he has to deal with not only his past but also his feelings towards Carter…. The only issue is: Logan doesn’t do relationships….. will things change or is heartache in the future for Logan and Carter????

Taming Zane by Lisa Lanay is the second book in the Almost Perfect series. This book can be read as a stand-alone although it does reference the characters from the previous book.
I found this to be a really easy book to get into. The story kicked off straight away and was enjoyable immediately. The characters were easy to like and were fun and engaging.
Although there were a few times where the story seemed to lose direction or momentum a little it was still enough to keep my attention the whole way through. This was a fun book to read and I hope we get more from the series in the future.

BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan Book #3) by Pamela DuMond – Review by Karyn Taylor

BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan, #3)BELOVED by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beloved is the 3rd book in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. I would not recommend reading this book as a stand-alone and I would definitely read the books in order as there is a great deal of information relevant to this particular book that happens in the first 3 books. As this is such a fantastic series, it wouldn’t be any hardship to read the others first. I guarantee that you will love them.
In Beloved, Dylan wants to take his relationship with Evie to the next level but she’s not really sure if that’s what’s right for her at this time. Her head (and heart) are rather pre-occupied with her latest client Wyatt Wolfe, her first love. Wyatt is suffering from some major health issues and Evie has been hired to accompany him when he attends a clinic to try out some new treatment ideas.
Added to this, Evie’s ‘devoted fan’ is still stalking her and has resorted to trying to get to Evie through her sick mother.
I loved this book even more than the first 2. I was pulled in straight away to the story and wasn’t let go until I was a sobbing mess at the end. A word of warning – have tissues at the ready when reading this book. I really can’t wait for the 4th book in this series to see what the author has in store next for Evie.

Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas #5) by Kadie Scott – Review by Angela Hayes

Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas, #5)Landing the Lawman by Kadie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Landing the Lawman is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas Series by Kadie Scott. Even though this is the fifth book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. It is another great contemporary romance- with a little drama, lots of chemistry, emotion, steam, tension, angst, banter- and a friends to lovers element.
We’ve met the Hills in the previous books, and this is Carter’s story. This is one of my favourites of the series and I loved following Carter and Logan and seeing how things developed between them. They are such opposites- but really are perfect for each other. Two halves to a whole. And as with the other books in this series, it left me feeling good at the end and really satisfied with how things played out.
I can always count on Ms. Scott to produce a great story that will pull me in and keep me engaged the whole way through. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Thank you, Ms. Scott!

Broken by Love (The Full Circle Series) by M.J Masucci – Review by Angela Hayes

Broken by LoveBroken by Love by M.J. Masucci
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Stars

Broken by Love (The Full Circle Series) is the first book I have read by M.J Masucci. When this book showed up on my recommended book feed, I admit I was more than a little intrigued. So I grabbed a copy and jumped right in.
It is a second chances romance, with drama, love, betrayal, angst, past history, forgiveness, and some push-pull. I have to be honest and say that I am a little disappointed, because I really couldn’t connect with the characters, even though I really wanted to. I definitely wanted to love this story, but I felt the writing was a little stilted and the flow of the story wasn’t as smooth as I had hoped for and some parts felt abrupt and/or strained. I really think the characters and storyline could use just a little more depth to really make an impact. But that is probably just me- so, I will revisit this book again in the future to see if I still feel the same way- or whether I was just having a ‘bad read day’ during this book.
As I said, I really wanted to love this book- but for me, it fell short- the characters frustrated me so badly, I wanted to smack their heads together. Some of the dialog didn’t feel realistic or believable, and even a little contrived for the situation. The characters personalities grated on me- and I really couldn’t find my groove with the storyline. Even though there is a bit of a twist to add some interest and drama to the story- it still didn’t grab me in the way I wished it had. But I will revisit later and reassess things then.

Thank you, M.J Masucci!

Beloved was a great 5 star read and book three in the 21st Century Courtesan series.
I was pulled in right from the beginning of this series and it keeps getting better.

Evie is thrown for a loop when the man of her dreams wants marriage. Wyatt and Evie have known each other since they were seventh graders, first loves actually. He needs help and Evie is the only one who can help him.

Easton and Wolfe also come back in this book along with Evie’s stalker. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. My emotions were all over the place. All of the characters added a great element to the story. We also get some hot and steamy moments that will melt your kindle.

Overall I really enjoyed this book There are so many dark and mysterious elements to the story and I loved it. Pamela pulls you right in with her writing. I was finished before I knew it and now I can’t wait to read what’s coming next from this author.

BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan, #3)BELOVED by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beloved by Pamela DuMond
Five Stars

Beloved is the third book in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. I have been waiting for this book to come out, to see how this story progresses. It was well worth the wait. This book hooked me from the first page and I couldn’t put it down until I read the last. It is fast paced and had my emotions all over the place. Evie is such a complex woman with a heart of gold. The men in this story are beyond out of this world, and the plot I’d amazingly mind blowing. This is my new favorite book by Ms. DuMond, and I just can’t wait to read more from this amazing author!
