Quick but good read. It has some mature parts that wouldn’t be appropriate for younger readers. It progressed fast and jumped time a few times bit is detailed for such a short story. I do have questions but hopefully they will be answered in the next books.

Falling for a Star in the City (Stars in the City Series) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Whisper Hymer

Falling for a Star in the City (Stars in the City #2)Falling for a Star in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Falling for a Star in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager is the second book in the Stars in the City Series. This one follows struggling actress Paige who had had a miserable week – breakup with her boyfriend, acting job on hold, and an internship in a career she isn’t happy in. Down in the dumps, Paige runs into Viktor a hot hockey player with an intense gaze. As she navigates this challenging week and emotions start to form, Paige worries that the differences between her and Viktor are insurmountable. This book is a lovely romance that highlights the 360s life throws at us. The series could probably be read as stand‐alones but characters make reappearances so I’d suggest reading in order. Enjoy!

Another Fantastic short story by this talented author. Also the cover was beautiful. I love the colors and the little details in it. It’s so crazy how the author can fit some much action packed, spice filled suspense into such a short read. It truly does not disappoint. The author’s writing is unique and brings a fresh perspective to the fantasy genre, blending whimsical elements with darker themes. creating a perfect balance between light-hearted moments and more serious undertones. The world-building is imaginative, and the character development is intriguing, making it a compelling read for those who enjoy fantasy with crazy twists. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Miss Georgiana Darcy’s Quest for Love is a interesting take from Pride and Prejudice that is a novelette, short version. This historical romance brings to life for Georgiana Darcy to find the love she is seeking. With some help…trying to find one’s true love can be challenging.

This was a good read and I enjoyed a variation if Georgiana can find happiness after the fall-out with Mr. Wickham. Some parts were a bit slow, but otherwise I do appreciate this unique story. I loved having the characters included in this story that I love about Pride and Prejudice.

I honestly did not know if I was going to like this book at first, but then it grabbed me and didn’t let go. I’m desperately hoping the author writes more books with these characters!

I love that Belladonna is a hybrid pixie/necromancer. It’s something I’ve never read about before, and the premise is an interesting one! She is written like a true pixie-sneaky, cruel, beautiful, dangerous, and remorseless. I adore her!

Rene is desperately seeking the person who murdered his twin sister and trying to cope with the loss in the only way he knows how-the bottom of a bottle. He starts seeing purple eyes and having euphoric experiences in a half-dreamlike state and believes he is losing his mind. It’s Belladonna doing her pixie shenanigans. At first, you really dislike her for using and abusing him the way she does (at least I did), but somehow you end up liking them as a team/couple by the end of the book. The twist at the end (the murderer) fit perfectly. There is enough foreshadowing that I guessed it, but I didn’t guess it so early that I was upset. The timing was perfect.

This is a quick, easy read and it is more plot than spice. Definitely check the triggers-it’s marketed as a dark paranormal book for a reason, and mental health is important.

I want to know more. I want to read about the team saving more paranormal creatures. I want to know if two of the characters actually went on the date she promised and how it went. I want to know how Rene handles being tied to Belladonna in the long run. I want to know about Belladonna’s past. There are so many ways the author could run with this book and these characters and I’m here begging for it!

This book was great. The characters, the overall plot, all great. The only downside of this book was that I felt like it could have had more detail and brought more side stories to life. I am the type of person who enjoys a good quest, but the side quests really make or break the story.

I think the author has some great characters and a storyline that is entertaining for fantasy readers. This was a quick and easy read. It was very difficult to put down once I started reading it. I would definitely recommend to all fantasy/mystery lovers.

This very quick-read novelette features one of the Pride and Prejudice characters that Ms. Jane Austen wrote about. Georgiana is looking for love and a house party ensues to find her a suitable partner.

This book is so short that it’s hard to say much more about it without giving away any parts. I did find it a bit difficult to get into but once I did finally “get in the groove”, it was almost over. It’s an enjoyable read but not a favorite of mine.

This Pride and Prejudice variation novelette is a captivating historical romance. Having been compromised by the wicked Mr Wickham, Miss Georgiana Darcy has been living with her brother and his family at Pemberley. Although content she would like her own happy marriage like her brother and Lizzy have. Whilst Lizzy enjoys playing matchmaker, Mr Darcy keeps a watchful eye on any potential suitors. Georgiana must discover if any of them can be trusted. This is a very short read but full of wonderful characters and an intriguing storyline based on a Jane Austen classic. I liked the optional epilogue which contained some marital bedroom scenes. The Regency era was brought to life as was Pemberley through the descriptive narrative. Although part of a series it is a standalone story.

This is a good story the follows a couple from teens to adult. I like the idea of this and it reads very easily. It does move along at a slow pace letting the reader see where these two are now in their lives and thoughts of a future. Life revolves around the rodeo for these two. I loved that! The secondary characters are great! Some are annoying and others are ones we have seen from other books in this series. I wish more could have come from her bff to see where the jealousy came from. I also thought maybe his friend he met in sheriff school would have come into play as well.

This was a cute and fun read. Was very easy and quick, but a fun idea for follow up after the love story that is Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. The style of writing stays similar to that of Jane Austen and is a pretty fluid transition to a “sequel”. Of course, wonderful characters and a lovely happy ending without any unnecessary drama. Really enjoyed it and would recommend.

Miss Georgiana Darcy’s Quest For Love is T. L. Clark’s interesting version of one of the characters from A Pride and Prejudice. It is a very short tale but an intriguing tale even if it was a little slow to get into.
This drama filled historical romance tale is set in Regency times. It is the story of Miss Georgiana Darcy whose reputation is in tatters and gossip is rife in the Ton. Trust has been destroyed; hope is but a dream. She was young, vulnerable, naive and beautiful and found trouble, lies, deceit and heartache. I found myself drawn into the story, to Georgiana’s plight and her life. At least she had Lizzy to help her along.
Take a journey to a different time where women were on the market for a good match as deemed by others was a given. A time when women didn’t inherit. A time where status and standing meant everything.
Will Lizzy find someone who cares for her wellbeing to find true love? Or will she be forever shunned due to her mistakes?

What a great M/M fantasy romance that was completely original. I love the angle that Amanda Kay took in developing this awesome storyline around good versus evil and having the ring be the protagonist in the story. The ring represents the world’s evil and tries to influence the hunter to kill the demon angel despite the attraction they feel for one another. This made for a great fantasy romance as we see our two main characters fight against all that they have been taught as their responsibility and follow along as they choose where their destinies will take them. This book was not a long read, but every page will have you on edge rooting for a happily ever after that may or may not be possible. You won’t want to miss this fast-paced adventure as the two main characters work against time to seek out the answers they need…will the past be able to help them save their future? Find out by reading Driving into the Night by the amazing author Amanda Kay who has a skill like no other! Until next time my friends, I’m off to find another great read!

Wow, this was such a rollercoaster, and I loved every minute. I absolutely love Kenai and Mikael together. The story with the ring and Kenai’s family seeming to have been doing this for generations, confused me every now and then. I would have liked to have more backstory to how it all began, but Kenai and Mikael meeting Nicholas and Viktor helped a little. Watching these two battle with giving over to what the ring demands, and their love for each other was heartbreaking. I don’t know how Mikael’s cousin Elise and Kenai’s mother know what to do, maybe they see themselves in the past as well so they are able to give guidance to the boys. I would really love to read more of Mikael and Kenai, their love is sweet and beautiful, I really enjoyed this story.

Seven days, just 7 more days and the control they have on me and this crown will be over. All Trinity wants is to get her life back. Being a rodeo pageant queen was everything she had wanted and she followed the rules to the letter. Her mom and best friend were there to ensure she got to the top, controlling every minute of her day.

Shooter Price was just as ambitious as Trinity and went off to follow his own path after he was dumped by her in high school. Things didn’t work out quite as he had planned but he made the best of it and headed back home.

This is where you will have to read to find out what happens.

This was the first book I have read by this author and I was surprised by her talent of getting you in the mind of the characters and keeping you there for the entire story. I felt every minute of emotion along with Trinity and Shooter. The side characters are just as riveting.

This is not my go to genre but wow.. amazing writing. This was a must read for me. For keeping me reading late into the night, I’m giving 5 stars. Bravo

Miss Georgina Darcy’s Quest for Love
By TL Clark

This a very quick read, this novella has four chapters and has been well written. I give it a 4-star rating.
This book is set in the era where if young girls’ virtue were compromised, it was intended that they would marry the man who compromised them. How ever for Georgiana this did not happen. After she was comprised by Mr Wickham, Georgina did not think that she had much chance of ever getting married. Her brother took Georgianna to live with him and his family. She gets on well with her brother and wife and loves their children. Georgiana wished for her brother and his wife to find her a husband. Lizzy approached her husband, and they decided upon a house party to try and find her a husband of good standing. When Lt Montfort met Georgiana, he was quite taken with her, and she brightened his day. But when he finds out she had been compromised would he still want to be near her?

3 – 3.5 Stars

Miss Georgiana Darcy’s Quest For Love is the fourth book in the Love Through the Ages series by T.L. Clark. It is a very short (56pages) regency/historical romance, being a variation to the classic, Pride and Prejudice, this has all the angsty drama you might expect from such a story.
At only 56 pages long, I won’t go into the storyline here as I don’t wish to spoil anything for you, as the blurb does a great job of letting us know what to expect. Miss Georgiana Darcy Quest For Love comes with some complications, but what does fate have in store for her future? The epilogue was a great little bonus…
The dialogue, scene setting, and whole ‘atmosphere’ of the story was crafted to be in keeping with the times, and Ms. Austen’s ‘original’. Although I do wish the story was a little longer, as I found it a little slow to get going, so by the time the pace picked up and I found my groove, the story was almost over.
This is a series of standalone historical romances – so there is no need to have read the other three books before diving into this one.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, T.L. Clark!

This book is part of a series. There’s alot of characters and I found it hard to know who was who. Shooter has a big family with siblings and cousins. Even with that, i thought the book was good. It was a sweet second chance romance.

When Trinity was 15 or 16 years old she spent alot of time with Shooter. He was her boyfriend. Even though they were teenagers and only gave each other little pecks here and there but they definitely had strong feelings for eachother. Trinity’s mom told her she needed to cut Shooter loose because he was a distraction. She thought he would understand since they are both focused on their goals. However when she broke up with he, he was heartbroken.

10 years later and he’s back in his hometown just in time for Elk Field’s week long festivities.
In the last 10 years Trinity accomplished what she set out to do by becoming Rodeo Royalty but, now she cannot wait to be done with it and start really living and having a boyfriend. Her mom and Kaley keep trying to push her into modeling but she just wants to be able to live a normal life.

When Trinity and Shooter see eachother and have a dance together, it’s clear both of them still care so much for eachother. Will Shooter be able to give her a week longer to be done with all this rodeo stuff and crown a new queen?

This book is no different. This is a shorter story and it packs a punch in entertainment in a short time. This is a story about LIzzy and how she may never find a suitor that can be trusted. She finds some hope in Mr. Darcy. You don’t want to miss what happens with Lizzy and Mr. Darcy. I enjoyed their characters and their growth is great. I read their story in one sitting as it is that great. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book and author.

I’ve never been one to get into Jane Austen books. While I thoroughly enjoy regency romance books, she’s one I just can’t seem to enjoy. At the beginning of the book I just couldn’t get into it, by the middle I was slowly getting there. Overall it was a good story. Georgiana tells her sister in law she thinks she’s ready to find a husband. A dinner party was planned and seemed like it was almost a “love at first sight” suggestion to the moment. The optional epilogue was a great thought for some steamy wedding night details.

Driving into the Night by Amanda Kay – Review by Mary Espinoza

Driving into the NightDriving into the Night by Amanda Kay

Driving into the Night by Amanda Kay was an interesting book, this was my first read by this author, so I didn’t really know what to expect. This is not what I thought it was going to be, I was thinking like a dark mystery, but instead it was a supernatural mystery with some romance mixed in. We meet the two main characters, Kenai and Mikael and both are teenagers who attend the same school and apparently have noticed each other for quite some time. Neither one expected to be attracted to one another, but they are and neither one of them ever seems to build up the courage to actually speak to each other.
So as fate usually does, it brings both of our main characters to the same high school party with the usually games of truth or dare and spin the bottle, and of course fate would have it that on the first spin of the bottle Mikael is to kiss Kenai. Little did either of the boys know that from this moment on their lives would be changed and somehow would seem to intertwine further than being at this party together.
These boys have no idea that their romance is going to be extremely challenged due to the fact that their families have a long history between them. There is a ring that is given to one of the boys and it will greatly affect anything that has to do with the other boy.
I felt that this story was good but could have been better with maybe some more details of the back story of the ring and the families of our main characters. We are given the storyline of a demon angel versus a hunter, but this is where I found the storyline to lack some. I feel that with more detail and maybe a longer story this book could have been great, it could have even been transformed into a series. I look forward to seeing what else Amanda Kay will bring us and I hope that she considers putting more detail into this storyline and turning it into a series.

Corpse Pixie by Sinister Styx – 4 stars
This is my first book by Sinister Styx. It was a short read but I could not put it down. We have a mystery, magic, paranormal with a bit of naughty and a little bit of a love story all intwined- but does the good guys win or is it the lesser of 2 evils? For only 82 pages it kept me intrigued.

Rene is a grief stricken brother wallowing in pills and alcohol but he swore he would find his twin’s murderer. Visiting the crimes scenes of the following victims the newest one leaves him feeling like he is losing his sanity to the Mystery violent eyed angel.

Belladonna is a grief to the point of numb necro-pixie hides for hundreds of years until the time is right to take vengeance for the death of her family becomes obsessed with the human that didn’t turn away from death and honored them victims when no one else would. Would he be the one to help her avenge her family’s demise?

I found the book to be intriguing and kept my attention. I would like to see more detail in the story line of how Belladonna fell in love with Rene. She basically left him alone for 2 weeks and then decided she had feelings for him. Other than the research he was doing what made her start showing emotions and feelings. Being a novella I could use a little more detail in this area. I will say I was not expecting the end of the story and who the murderer is but it works for me! The end of the book shows that it could become a series and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
