Mr Wimp (The Human Mating Site #1)Mr Wimp by B.L. Wilde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series opener is wonderful, funny, heartbreaking, and imaginative. The series starts with Bella’s husband ending their 7 year marriage, 12 year relationship without much explanation. Through her friends, who are hilarious and endearing, Bella discovers the worst news possible. Instead of just growing apart like she had originally thought, there is someone new.

Despite this heartbreak, Bella reclaims her life. She starts to realize that she lost parts of herself to her husband. Bella is rediscovering what it means to be her. And loving the new old her.

After months of shedding the old her and shaking off the heartbreak, Bella has decided to quote Stella “get her groove back”. Now we get to meet the men that might put the ooooh in her groove. 😉

Can’t wait for the next one. I am here for the series.

This was a great start to what appears to be a very engaging series. Bella is a great heroine who has been knocked on her butt by the dissolution of her marriage and discovering her wimpy husband has been having an affair. As she is getting to know herself again, she starts to wonder if the steamy scenes she reads in her romance novels could actually be real. She has a great support network of friends who are there to help pick her back up. The author did a great job of really highlighting the friendships, which I thought was really wonderful. I can’t wait to see how the next 12 books go as Bella continues to discover more about herself and finds herself on a steamy journey of sexual exploration.

This was such a great, entertaining, quick read story. The title itself drove me in and then after reading the plot, I definitely want to give this a chance! Bellas is such a strong female character as she deals with her divorce from her 12 year relationship and starts to go back into the dating pool. She realizes how much of herself she has sacrificed in this past relationship and how she tries resurrecting herself through her pain and new experiences. It is very much possible to find yourself in your 30s and even experience your own sexual awakening.

I didn’t realize this was a short novella so when it ended so quickly and LIKE THAT…I was like WHAT!!! Nooo. I love love love this book and I can’t wait to read the others. Author had a great way with pulling me in, in just a short time! The betrayal and anger I felt was unreal…I wanted to throw my kindle. You’ll see why when you read it. But I love Bella!!! When she stood up for herself? YES QUEEN 👏🏻 I was here for it. And that angst? Woooooh, I need to read the next book to see what happens with Liam!!!! Sounds like it’ll be a spicy time! Can’t wait!

Lies - Truth - LoveLies – Truth – Love by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! Loving this one! It flows so nicely! I really sped right along and before I knew it I was half way through. I see how the author wrote the story so it goes along with the title but it does seem to slow down a bit as the female lead can’t seem to get past the lies. I did get a little tired of her actions during that time period she almost seemed mean towards him.

There are some good secondary characters that add some insight to these two main personalities. Very helpful to them and I liked the advice!

Overall this is a cute, fun story. I did enjoy many different things about this one. The job that she has is something that interests me. Bringing joy and completion to many people. Anyway I like the flow and how the author grabbed me and kept me entertained.

This was an absolutely delight to read. Bella was so easy to connect with and don’t get me started on Joel – urgh! This the first I have read from this author and the writing is brilliantly executed as it draws the reader in and you just feel like you are right there. I am so happy to know that there is so much more to come and can’t wait to continue this series. Highly recommend!

The truth about myths by Giovanna Siniscalchi – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

The Truth About Myths (The Winemakers)The Truth About Myths by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Princess Isabel is the sister of the King of Portugal, they have been close throughout their lives while facing whatever came their families way, but the way they coped with all of that was complete opposites on the spectrum. The King became a lad about town, with a group of friends who were the scourge of the men folk on their area of the world, while Isabel went the way of modesty, fidelity and duty and tried to promote these values in her ladies in waiting as well. One day, she is summoned to see her brother where he tells her that he has received an invitation for Isabel to visit a relative in Spain for the summer and as much as she loved her cousin, she does not relish the idea of the company she keeps, so she politely declines, that is until her brother insists that it is more a diplomatic mission than a holiday and this is where duty wins out and Isabel reluctantly agrees.

Meanwhile, one of the Kings group of friends, Henrique, the Viscount of Panafiel, a scientist is about to embark on a journey to England to take a position at one of their top universities, but at the last minute, he is called upon to escort the Princess to Spain and watch over her and albeit he really does not want to go, he is won over by being the only one the King entrusts with the role, so he also reluctantly agrees. When the two meet at the carriages they are to travel in, the two realise that they have been misled by their nearest and dearest as to whom they will be accompanying and this just makes the journey even more unpredictable and in some ways uncomfortable for them both.

As the journey to Spain goes on, the two find themselves drawn to each other and opening up in ways they thought impossible and even though their personalities clash, they enjoy tormenting the other with sharp tongues and sharper wit, but as soon as they reach their hosts, thinks begin to heat up and each finds new experiences and challenges in the other. This however, was not to last when Prince Alfonso of Spain enters the picture and comes in between the two opinionated young aristocrats and this is where things become messy as it appears that the Princesses ideals and sense of duty are used in such a manner that anything which was blooming between her and her escort are threatened and Henrique will do anything to save his Princess and his country, but will he lose everything he is trying to save in the process? This is a historical fiction set in the Mediterranean where emotions run high and politics reign, in this royal romance where appearances can be deceiving and sifting the truth and the lies is almost impossible as you wonder who will triumph in the end.

Mr Wimp (The Human Mating Site #1)Mr Wimp by B.L. Wilde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bella and Joel have been married for twelve years. A marriage of comfort. Although the marriage was lacking in a few departments, Bella was in it for the long run. Joel had other ideas. He decided the spark was gone and went looking for it elsewhere.

At first Bella was devastated, 12 years wasted. As time goes on, Bella realizes she lost herself somewhere along the way. She changed who she was to appease the man she was with. Bella decides to find herself again. She starts hanging out with friends more, eating healthier and even practices flirting. Soon she will be ready to enter the dating scene once again.

This book is the beginning of Bella’s journey of finding Mr. Right. I decided to read it as something different from my usual choice and I am happy I did. It was like the author wrote about my life with my ex. There were quite a few parallels between my life and Bellas. I’m still trying to find myself again and that relationship ended years ago. I really enjoyed reading about Bella’s character growth and I love that she has a strong support system. I can’t wait to continue Bella’s journey in book number two coming out in October! By the way things ended in this book, I am expecting some steam in the next installment!

The Truth About Myths (The Winemakers Book 3) by Giovanna Siniscalchi – Review by Rebeca Elliott Figueiras

The Truth About Myths (The Winemakers #3)The Truth About Myths by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third in the Winemakers series, this time following the story of Princess Isabel and Viscount Henrique. You don’t necessarily need to read this series to understand the individual stories, but I would certainly recommend reading all of them.
I enjoy the writing style of the author, it flows nicely making for easy reading, but is also descriptive enough to allow you to step into the story living it alongside the characters. The era was clearly researched adding to the realism and enjoyment of the story.
I enjoyed the characters; well written and believable I was rooting for their success at every turn, especially given the pair’s increasing chemistry.
Isabel is a ‘proper’ young princess with a strong moral compass determined to do her duty. She is determined to do what’s right. She came out of her sheltered upbringing quickly and coped with the challenges she faced with strength and determination which I admired.
There was something about Henrique which I found particularly charming, and I thoroughly enjoyed that there was more to him than meets the eye.
I look forward to discovering more from this author!

The True Purpose of Vines (The Winemakers Book 1) by Giovanna Siniscalchi – Review by Rebeca Elliott Figueiras

The True Purpose of Vines (The Winemakers #1)The True Purpose of Vines by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Winemakers series. It’s a historical romance which is one of my favourite genres and I was not disappointed.
I enjoyed the way the author wrote this; it was descriptive enough to transport you to Portugal of the past and easy to follow. Research into the era and backdrop of the story was evident but did not feel like I was reading a research paper, it added realism to the story presented.
The characters were great – believable and engaging I was rooting for them beginning to end. Julia and Griffin’s interactions were entertaining from their first meeting and the chemistry grew from there.
Julia was written as a strong, capable and independent woman. Her determination and love for her family and her craft is clear as day and I admired her drive and resilience.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Mr Wimp (The Human Mating Site #1)Mr Wimp by B.L. Wilde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a fun and unique this series this is going to be, especially if the rest of the series is as good as this book. It is the first in a new series of novellas about a woman who is discovering herself after getting a divorce. The premise of this book hit really close to home for me and I think because of that I connected with the character even more. You can tell, even from this first book, that her journey is going to be entertaining and enlightening. I cannot wait to see how things play out for her.
This book is the first that I have read by this author and I can already tell I am going to be a fan. The writing style made the book come alive and I was pulled into it so easily. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and cannot wait to read the next book.

Mr. Wimp (The Human Mating Site Book 1) by B.L. Wilde – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

Mr Wimp (The Human Mating Site #1)Mr Wimp by B.L. Wilde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mr. Wimp is the first novella in The Human Mating Site Series. The story centers around the character of Bella who suddenly finds herself single after a twelve-year relationship with her husband. As she comes to terms with her newfound freedom, she soon realizes that she lost a lot of herself in the relationship. With the help of a few close friends Bella starts to enjoy the single life and learns a lot about who she is and what she wants. She realizes that her sex life was less than enthusiastic and sets out to explore her sexuality. This is the beginning of her journey and I anxiously await the next novella to see what Bella is up to next.

I enjoyed this novella and found it to be a quick read with an interesting storyline that I felt many women could relate to. I felt an immediate connection to the character of Bella because she was smart, strong, and feisty but at the same time had low self-esteem. She held back on a lot of things because she lacked the confidence to come out of her own shell. I look forward to seeing Bella grow as a character in her farther adventures. I loved that the book was not all serious and emotional, but that Bella and her friends approached the topic of being single with a sense of grace and humor. I felt the novella had a bit of a personal diary type of a feel which made it feel more personal to read from her POV. The only thing that I would think might possibly add to the story would be divisions between events, not like a chapter but perhaps as a diary entry with a date as the chapter heading. Each entry in Bella’s ‘diary’ would give the reader insight into her journey as though reading from her ‘diary’. I am not sure if that makes sense and is only my personal opinion. Bring on novella number two!

Bella – what a great character. Finding yourself in a situation where you have to start over – including your identity… this is a very relatable storyline! I like that this a short read, quick and easy and yet draws you in and leaves you wanting to read the next one. It was a fun story to read. The story didn’t dwell on the negative, and Bella was a strong female character. I’m interested in reading the follow up in the series.

What a great start to a series that I know I will enjoy. This is book 1 a novella to get you started and there will be much more to come. Bella’s marriage is over after 12 years. After getting over the heartbreak she soon discovers what she was missing. I was so pleased she did not carry on with The Woe Is Me pity party. Instead she called her true friends and they were able to help her work through this. Can Bella move past this? Will she get back herself and move on? Mr. Wimp is forever gone and Hello Mr. Right. I love that Bella is independent and doesn’t not need a man to carry her. She can do just fine, after all she has some great friends. The story does not stop there. The author made this a fun story to read. It was quick and a true page turner. It did not drag on and on about the failing marriage. The women are strong and independent and can move on. Not to say it was easy, but it happened just the same. I am looking forward to book 2 as I know the series will just get more interesting as the stories continue.

Cruel Start (Hidden Valley Elite #4.5)Cruel Start by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So, after reading both books in this series Cruel, I learned how it is hard to be a teenager in high school and all you want to do is be free. But Isla Vaughn made The High School into a spicy novella that I love so much how each character goes through a lot to be part of something but then falls in love with their enemies.
In these two books, Cruel Start and Hate these two main characters make a huge change in their lives just to have others off their backs. Starting with a girl Phoenix who puts her past behind her and carries on with her pregnancy to find out that she sees her past in front of her. While Aspen a football player has to make a hard choice in life just for his teams to lay off of him. Crazy moments for both of them.

Ever since I read the first book from Isla Vaughn, I fell in love with her series.
Each series has a different story and each character has a life struggle that leads to love or enemies. In this story, they have to fake their relationship just because both sides have people who keep on insisting that they be together.
But in the end was a crazy moment for both of them. They end up liking each other and things don’t become any better for them.
The Hidden Valley Series is a must to read. I have a series of books on my wishlist. I love all the books.

Mr Wimp: A Steamy, Dating Humour Novella is the first novella in The Human Mating Site. This will be a series of 13 novellas with stories from The Human Mating Site. Bella is divorcing after 12 years of marriage and diving back into the dating pool. The story is a quick, enjoyable read. It is relatable, funny, and more. Dating is difficult, especially after a long break, and Bella’s story deals with this difficulty. There are some steamy bits intermingled with the humor. This is a fast read, but completely worth the time. I really enjoyed the story and the break from reality. I look forward to grabbing more in this series. I think this will be a fun series to read.

Mr Wimp (The Human Mating Site #1)Mr Wimp by B.L. Wilde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in The Human Mating Site series where we follow Bella. It was a quick read and I loved it. In this part of the story we meet Bella and Joel who have been together and married for years. Even though there is no passion or spark they have carried on after all after so many years together not having a spark is normal right?
They carry on like this until the day Joel throws a bomb into the relationship and tells Bella he wants to end their marriage.
Bella is heartbroken and as things begin to come to light that pain and heartbreak turns to anger.
When she is free she realises how much of herself she lost by being with Joel, over the years he has brought her down and made her lose sight of who she is.
Is this story is called Mr Wimp and omg Joel is definately that. At points I was screaming at him to grow and pair and tell the truth but his refusal to do that only showed Bella even more how much of a favour he was doing her by ending things.
I loved Bella’s character and her growth in this first story was unreal and inspiring as with the help of her friends she slowly starts to find herself again.
I can’t wait to read about the next stages in Bella’s life.

This particular book is Dakota and Annabelle’s story and it will pull you in and keep you hooked. There is one character I really hate right now and I so hope Karma catches up with him somewhere in the next books of the series.
