This book was so what I needed this week to lift my spirits! I laughed so many times that my family kept wanting to know what was going on with me LOL. I am a total Christmas junkie so as soon as I read the book blurb I just had to read it and I was not disappointed for even a second. Filled with gorgeous characters, a wonderful storyline and set in a town I so wish I could visit, I was captivated from start to finish. It is my first read of this wonderful author and I just know that I will be reading more as soon as I can.

Chasing Cheer is the first book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series. Holly Claus is out collecting cheer and lands in a small town in Oregon. Ash Hayes is trying to bring more people to the same small town and trying to get everyone more spirited. When the two meet, will the holiday sparks fly? If you enjoy a light-hearted romance or the occasional holiday Hallmark movie this book will hit all the right buttons. The story is light and full of holiday cheer. I like that the characters are looking for something other than a romance but still find one. Holly is cute and determined to do an excellent job to help the North Pole. She works under the pressure of her father’s shadow and wants to show she is up for the job. Ash is trying to get his business bustling and looking at all the options to bring more tourism business. I liked both the characters and the story. I have been in the mood for some lighter reading fare, and this hit the mark. Usually, I do not read holiday stories until closer to the holidays, but this gave me a nice break from the summer heat. I look forward to what the rest of the series brings. When I need more magic, I will look for something by this author.
This is the first Novella in what I am certain will be a fantastic series. Bella is a wonderful character who goes through a lot in this short story and begins her transformation to find herself again. A short and fun read I really enjoyed it and I’m not usually a fan of short books. I’m looking forward to more because I need to know what is next for Bella.

Marina Hanna did an amazing job with Ethan and Olivia. These two main characters were so much to handle with their loops of lies and secrets. On top of that their connection of love they had.
Hanna made sure I was stuck to my seat and wanted to know if both characters would give in to their love and if they could move forward with all they had in the past.

An enjoyable and engaging festive contemporary romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Holly Claus visits the small town of Emerald Hollow to discover why ‘Christmas Cheer’ is so abundant there. Holly travels around the world collecting ‘Cheer’ which then powers the North Pole and its dream making operations, but however efficient she is she always feels that she’s not as good as her father was. Ash Hayes is working to build up his tourism business at The Emerald House and enters the town in a Hallmark competition for ‘Best Small Town Christmas Faire’. His Mum ran away from the town as a child, and he’s keen to make the town a desirable destination again. Sparks fly when Holly and Ash meet, but neither of them are looking for love, and she’s got a job to do and he definitely does not want a relationship with someone who’s going to leave. Meanwhile, Holly’s arrival sets in motion a change in Holly’s Cheer magic that upend everything at the North Pole, so Holly must find out what is causing all the Cheer in the town or Christmas may be at risk. In this town full of Cheer it’s magic may intervene in Ash and Holly’s relationship and maybe they will find love. This was a lovely heartwarming festive romance with likeable and relatable characters and a wonderful setting, both of which was brought to life by the descriptive narrative. The story was full of Christmas magic and it has left me feeling full of festive Cheer!

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the previous books in this series I was looking forward to this third novel and I was not disappointed. I was once again captivated by the authors wonderful writing style and transported back in time, due to the descriptive narrative and added historical details, all of which made me feel immersed in the era and the story. The storyline follows Princess Isabel de Orleans who does her duty for her brother the King and for Portugal, and so travels to Spain to help with a diplomatic crisis. Accompanying Isabel is her brothers best friend, the charming but rakish Henrique, Viscount Penafiel. Henrique believes Isabel’s morals are outdated, and she thinks his philandering ways are shocking, but soon discovers that behind his facade he is a caring man. Their mutual attraction turns to lust, but the sister of Henrique’s best friend and a Princess should be out of his reach.
Once in Spain they meet Alfonso who is a king without a throne and soon the Bourbon is showing great interest in Isabel, threatening Portugal’s independence. This results in Henrique having to take drastic measures to save not only his country but Isabel, and their love. I loved this historical romance set during the 19th-century amongst the opulent monarchy of the time. The story is full of drama, romance, passion, love and lust, and also patriotism. The unexpected plot twists kept me hooked throughout and I was kept happily turning the pages. I loved the main characters, and the chemistry between Isabel and Henrique sizzled off the page leading to some steamy scenes. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop and I felt engaged with them both due to the dual POV storyline. An enjoyable and engaging read, and one which I recommend.

This is book 1 of the Hearts Below series. I was captivated by this book from the first page. It is a paranormal romance which is my favourite anyway but the author’s amazing write created a world and characters that I loved. The two main characters of Rowan and Arryn are both so well written that they jump off the page. This is a enemies to lovers story which is full of action, adventure and steamy romance. When Arryn’s betrothed goes missing she takes it upon herself to find him. Little does she realise that he has landed in World Below. After she falls there herself she finds herself in a dangerous world she doesn’t understand. Rowan is a guard who has to take over patrolling Worlds Below after his brother was injured by a monster from the World Above. When he comes across Arryan he knows she is a monster and should destroy her on sight however there is something different about her. As they work together to try and get Arryan back to the world above Rowan realises he doesn’t want to let her go. What will happen when Arryan realises that the Prince she came to rescue is no longer the love she wants? Can they relationship between Arryan and Rowan actually work with them being from different worlds? What is the additional magic that Rowan possesses and how will that effect them? This is a fast paced paranormal adventure filled with romance, danger, and magic. You will fall in love with the characters and find yourself cheering for their victory but will they be able to face all the dangers and challenges ahead of them?
I’m typically not the type of reader that chooses holiday books to read, but I took a chance on this one because it seemed super cute…. And I’m glad I did! This book definitely provides Christmas and holiday spirit, and gives the love and feel of a romantic comedy as well! I loved the fact that, while the setting was around the holidays, the story itself could apply to everyday life. It provides an eye-opener regarding the life balancing act, prioritizing, and living in the moment. It was a great, quick read that was a cozy, big hug.
First thing first, this is the third book in the series and each book can be read as a stand alone book. I feel that if you start with book one in the series you will have a better flow but, you don’t have to do that. Each book in the series does a great job at making sure you could pick any of then up and just start reading. Now, for the fun stuff. This book has steam, passion, second chance romance, and obviously the life style of rock n roll. So it has everything to keep you turning pages and not stopping until you finish it. There is humor in this book that actually made me chuckle out loud because you can legit see these things happening in real life. I am not going to say what parts made me giggle because I want you all to experience it for yourselves when you read this book. The character development in this story flows and seems really authentic. The spice is at an amazing level but is still tastefully done. I hope that makes sense. This book has everything in it that I would ever crave from a rockstar romance. It even had things I didn’t know I needed but will now require in other books going forward. This was a quick read because I couldn’t put it down and I know that once y’all start reading it; it will be the same for you. Don’t miss this book or this series, it has become one of my favorites and will be one that I will read over and over again. Reviewed by: @bbohls

Magical Christmas romance Chasing Cheer is the first book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series and had all the feels. It was a brilliant read with a captivating light hearted storyline, relatable characters and tonnes of Christmas magic. As I was reading, the pictures just flowed in my head and I could imagine every moment between Holly and Ash – so much like a Hallmark movie. A very enjoyable read that I highly recommend.

This book was absolutely awesome. I devoured it, on the edge of my seat until I got to the end. I absolutely loved Rowan’s humor and Arryn’s spitfire attitude as she came out of her shell. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for the next book! It’s the first book I’ve read by this author, and I can say for sure that they don’t disappoint! I def recommend and am looking forward to book 2!!
I love music! And I really love meaningful music that delivers a message! When we Fell Again provided some of that along the way. As a second chance romance it didn’t disappoint. The author displayed character growth while navigating heavy topics wonderfully. Lex and Jordan compliment each other nicely. Unfortunately there’s obstacles in places and things that happen that tore them apart once. Will that prevent them from trying again? Lex has been tasked as being the stage manager for Idol Rev. Unfortunately there’s just one problem: her ex is the lead singer of that band and things didn’t end well. However, this is her job, so feelings aside she needs to man up and push through. How does her heart feel about that? Jordan has had a rough year, and it’s time for a new beginning for him and the band. Excited to get back on tour, just to come back down off that high, when finding out his ex-gf will be along for the ride. How will he handle that? Jordan’s character is written with so much growth it’s refreshing. He’s dealt with a lot in life. Some of those situations he’s put himself into. But will to grow and get past that has shown a strength that sometimes characters like this lack. It’s wonderful to see how he’s changed, the question being will Lex see it too? So many questions, and plenty of answers. The quest for those answers are what keeps one intrigued. Keeps the reader turning the page wondering what decision will be made next! As second chance romances go this one shows the growth the reader is looking for. Beware of the heavy topics. They come up here and there but it’s enough that could impact someone. Despite that it’s worth the read.

This book is a very easy read especially when you want to get out of reality. I like how the characters interact with each other, especially the band mates. Also, Jordan and Alexis go very well together chemistry wise and I like how they have matured over time. They are very relatable as to what they are going through emotionally throughout the book.

Read it, read it, just read it. You will NOT be disappointed. I adored this book and it sucked me into a world that felt so real with characters that captivated me and had me hanging on every word and move. I just started the ACOTAR series recently and this held the similar air of angst, feelings, and strong characters. I am not sure where Meredith has been hiding from me but I am so dang glad I found her because I could live a thousand lives following her well written words. Couldn’t give this enough stars.
This was an easy to read, easy to enjoy, easy to love novel. Probably the first I have ever read that really could be a hallmark movie. Holly and Ash were great characters, well thought out to execute the story and easy to fall for. I read this book in one sitting and while is spooky season (for me), it was definitely a worthy read. Author is new to me if I recall and she has earned her place on my shelves!

This was a good 4 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning with the author’s writing. Ethan and Olivia’s story was great. Olivia hasn’t had the best relationships and when she is encouraged to find a date for a wedding she goes on a blind date. Of course there is a twist and she ends up meeting Ethan. Their story is quite the journey of ups and downs, which added a great element to the story. I did have some LOL moments and some frustrations. Will these two get the HEA they both deserve? I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

Born to Die (The McIntire County Series Book 2) by Winter Austin a great romance suspense
Deputy Cassy Rivers’ heart is in danger as trouble is on the loose in rural Eider, Iowa. She narrowly escaped a terrifying ordeal at the hands of a lunatic two years ago, but not without scars. She now needs to put her trust in the one man who destroyed her heart after a string of random thefts results in the violent death of a fellow officer.Boyce Hunt, an FBI agent, is aware that individuals with a past like his shouldn’t commit. He once parted ways with Cassy in order to shield her from his mother’s criminal enterprise’s extortion and manipulation. However, their attraction rekindles as they grudgingly work together to apprehend the current Bonnie and Clyde terrorizing McIntire County, separating Boyce between the two loyalties.
Every page had you hanging on every sentence and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique story with even compelling people. The story really transports you into this world. I couldn’t put the book down.

This is a super cool atory. I like when an author pulls out all the stops in creating the world. Everything is perfectly holiday. From the thoughts to the swearing. I was impressed at the cleverness that was put into this holiday story.
I did feel it was overly long as I got the point or idea long before we got there in the story. That is my only complaint. It is a cute light hearted and delightful story. I devoured every word.

The sweetest holiday story I have read in a LONG time! Holly, aka Ms. Clause has taken over the North Pole and is on a mission to collect holiday cheer. Her world collides with Ash in a tiny Oregon town and cheer as she knows it changes. This story is so wholesome and fun. It kept my spirits high as the connection between Ash and Holly grows. With every page turn my heart was warm and I wanted to know more! This was the perfect way to start getting ready for the holiday season, even if it is only September!
Ignite My Heart (North Fork Series Book 2) by Alicia Street. This is such a good romance. I read this book until I finished, it was so good I didn’t want to put it down. Heart’s Rescue by Meredith Hart is part of the Hearts Below series. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I found it really enjoyable. Rowan’s life is changed forever when he discovers his brother lying dismembered in the woods, after being attacked by a monster from the land above. Rowan must take on his brother’s role as protector of the town. One night on sentry duty, Rowan discovers another monster, Arryn. Arryn is on a mission from the land above to find her missing prince. The pair start out on an adventure to find him together but discover they have more in common than they first thought. This is a good book for those who like fantasy romance and enemies-to-lovers storylines. I will be reading more books in this series.
What an introduction to this author! I have no idea why I have not found one of her books to read before. As soon as I started reading, I was completely captivated by Ethan and Olivia’s story. There was so much going on in their story and it is definitely not smooth sailing for them. There’s a few misunderstandings, some miscommunication but ultimately some extremely intense chemistry between these two characters. The author’s writing was brilliant, easy to read yet complex at the same time. This really was a wonderful story, definitely up there in my top reads of 2023! I am very excited to read more from this author in the future.

Told from the dual POV of the two main characters, this book is the first of the Fallen Hearts series. When Lady Arryn’s unofficial betrothed disappears to the Lands Below, she decides to go find and rescue her beloved despite the dangers of the other realm. Meanwhile, Rowan – a sentry in the Lands Below – struggles to protect his neighbors with his strange magic. The story starts off a little slow, but everything starts falling into perspective as the adventure takes off. This is my first time reading a book written by this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up this book, but I’m glad I did! I love diving into a new fantasy where the stakes are high and the world is complex!
Lady Arryn Damoira of the Kingdom of the Summer is devasted when her brother is hurt. She knows she is supposed to fill a role of duty but finds herself working with Rowan, a sentry who knows he is no match for Arryn but wants her all the same. Danger lurks as they journey together to find the prince she is supposed to in theory be betrothed to. What happens when feelings get involved though and they cannot deny the chemistry between them?
This was quite the adventure. Had a lot of twists and turns and filled with a fantasy realm that was easy to envision. I enjoyed this quite a bit, had a good mixture of romance added in. I would pick up the next book in the series.
Olivia has had a rough time with love. Her ex-fiance used her to get through school, and then dumped her for a coworker. After this experience, she has decided that dating just isn’t worth the effort. That is, until she gets the invitation to her cousins destination wedding. When her roommate and best friend, Lucy, suggests that she try going on a few blind dates to try and find at least a date for the wedding, Olivia reluctantly agrees. During one of the dates at a local tea shop just down the street from her flower shop, Olivia is rescued from a particularly terrible date by a good looking gentleman who is sitting at the table behind hers. Ethan and Olivia start talking, and Ethan suggests being Olivia’s plus one, even though they had just met. The pair decide that it is in their best interest to get to know each other first, and start talking and meeting up for dates. Ethan decides to withhold a very important bit of information, and when Olivia finds out, everything changes. This book is a guaranteed happily-ever-after, and a great read.

Chasing Cheer was a cute holiday romance. Reminiscent of the holiday Hallmark movies, which is funny being that’s a common reference. I’m it’s intentional. The author wrote a cute story which led to beautiful character growth and self discovery. Holly is in her prime to lead, just one problem she’s not grasping the cheer aspect of her job. Holly is the new “It girl” of the North Pole, now that Santa and Mrs. Claus have moved on. She grasps and embraces her job with so much love and support, she just doesn’t understand cheer. She knows what it does, just not how to collect it efficiently. That is until an adventure lands her in Emerald Hollow face to face with the man about town Ash. What does this town have that’s so different? How can she unlock that? Ash is constantly running ragged, but he does it for his love, his home town. Till one day he meets a woman who has him tongue tied, that can only be described as Christmas personified. Still running around making sure everything is perfect. The young woman now occupies his brain in a way he doesn’t quite understand. Pulled to her by an unknown force. Will he concede to that force? Who is this woman? All that and so much many more questions come about while reading this story. Why would I choose it? Simple holiday romances are a guilty pleasure, especially if they turn into a Hallmark movie in my mind. This was one of those times.
Chasing Cheer is a fun holiday romance by Heather Schneider. I really enjoyed this captivating story which is full of all the charming ingredients we love to find in a Christmas romance. Sprinkled with Cheer, magic, chemistry, mystery, and just enough drama to keep things interesting- this story played out wonderfully. So much so, that it would make a great movie too. Holly Claus has a job to do, collecting the cheer required to power the North Pole. But she stumbles on something puzzling in the little town of Emerald Hollow- and soon Christmas itself may be at risk. Holly will need to get to the bottom of it all, before things go awry. What happens makes for a very enjoyable read. If you love holiday romance, magic, charm, humour, and a sweet clean romance—then this is definitely the book for you. Happy Reading…
