Twisted Oath (Bound By Blood Book 1) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Rebeca Elliott Figueiras

Twisted Oath (Bound By Blood #1)Twisted Oath by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great introduction into the Bound by Blood series, I’m certainly hooked!

To start with, the author has a way of writing that flows so smoothly and captures the depth of emotion the characters have, so that you feel it as your own. They paint a vivid picture that you feel you could easily step into and live the ‘adventure’ alongside the characters.

The characters were written incredibly well. Salvatore and Serafina both have pasts and how they became who they are and how they respond to things is very well reflected in the book. I was rooting for them from start to finish, they captivated me, and I grew emotionally attached – definite book hangover because of them!

The twists and turns had me guessing (and not always correctly which I loved), I couldn’t put this book down. It had everything I wanted, strong characters, suspense, secrets, romance and more! I’m sad this book is over but I’m excited for the next!

A Toast for Laurent (Vine Valley Book 1) by Theresa Paolo – Review by Christie Mitchum

A Toast for Laurent (Vine Valley, #1): A Small Town Fake Relationship RomanceA Toast for Laurent (Vine Valley, #1): A Small Town Fake Relationship Romance by Theresa Paolo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Toast for Laurent by Theresa Paolo is my favorite kind of second-chance romance. It pulled at my emotions but was a lot of fun with just the right amount of spice. Plus, it takes place around a winery, what wasn’t there to love????

This book had me hooked within just the first few pages. The author gave me a good, quick background on Laurent, and then boom, Phoebe entered the scene! She definitely made an impression. Even though she has been gone from his life for many years, she is still the one that got away, breaking his heart in the process.

Laurent and Phoebe were best friends at one time with the possibility of being so much more. One night the lines blurred, and she walked out the next morning taking his heart with her. Now, she needs him desperately, and she re-enters his life wanting him to keep his promise…marry her. They made a pact almost twenty years ago that if they weren’t married, they would marry each other. Laurent could never turn his back on her, and he doesn’t plan on doing that now. However, he also has to protect his heart. When he agrees to help her out, he makes one condition, she can’t fall in love with him. She thinks she can do that….right…she has had feelings for him to begin with, she just ran from them. Now, she might not be able to outrun them.

I was not prepared for the twists and turns in this book, not just the main characters, but the secondary characters. I love reading a book that has a few sub-plot points occurring simultaneously. Sometimes that doesn’t work, but it really did in this one. I adored all of Laurent’s siblings, and I even came to like Phoebe’s half-sister, Parker. I enjoyed the way in which Paolo brought both their past and their future together.

Theresa Paolo is a new author for me, but this book will definitely not be my last. I’m looking forward to other books in this particular series and discovering her others as well.

Falling Again (Buckeye Falls Book 3) by Libby Kay – Review by Rebecca Hill

Falling Again: A Buckeye Falls NovelFalling Again: A Buckeye Falls Novel by Libby Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is the third book in a series. It absolutely can be read as a stand alone. This book focuses on additional characters in Buckeye Falls. I have read the other books and loved them. This one was enjoyable but focused a lot more on the sexual tension and interaction between Anthony and Natalie. Anthony and Natalie have almost a fairytale marriage. They couldn’t possibly be struggling – or could they? I did really enjoy the realness of their struggles. They have busy lives with their jobs and their kids. They haven’t had time for each other, and it is wearing on them and their marriage. Ultimately this story is about them finding their way back to each other and rekindling their marriage. I love this world and the characters and will continue to read about them. While maybe more steamy than the first two books, it was still great!

Grand Slam (Ground Rule Book 3)Grand Slam by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Grand Slam is book 3 in the series and this series just keeps getting better and better. I love these characters and want to be friends with them. Haha
This book is focused on Heath and his love interest.
Back when they did the bachelor auction he met a thorn in his side names Grace who ran the animal shelters they were raising money for. She seemed very bossy and tested Heath like a child. They both seemed to
Dislike eachother a great deal. Why can’t either of them get the other out of their mind?
They see eachother again at the hospital when Hannah has her baby. Grace and Heath end up sleeping at Hannah’s house for the night until Grace leaves first thing in the morning trying to put space between her and Heath before something could happen.
To bad for Grace, Heath doesn’t give up
Easily. This was such a great read and cannot wait to see what else this author has to share with us.

Cruel Start (Hidden Valley Elite #4.5)Cruel Start by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author struck gold with this series. The first few books were great and add this prequel in and now I’m dying for the next book.
This is mainly about Aspen ( the new girl to town ) and Phoenix. She doesn’t know him or his reputation and he doesn’t know her as they go to different schools. They literally run into eachother one day and neither can get the other out of their mind.
A few days later they see eachother again and this time they get to know eachother a bit. When their time is over He walks away without looking back.
They both are going to Thane so they will see eachother around campus. What will happen when Aspen lets him in on what she finds out. Aside from the chemistry between these two. Phoenix just might be a genius for what he manages to pull off with Shane. Cannot wait to see what happens there. Amazing addition to a great series and impatiently waiting for Cruel Hate!

Twisted Eros (Modern Mythica Book 1)Twisted Eros by Aria Skylar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was drawn in by the cover and by the time I read the synopsis I was sold. Twisted Eros is the first book in the Modern Mythica series, and it is a steamy start! I love that it is a bit darker with twists and turns. I didn’t want to put this down at all, so I read it in a single day! Kay is such a strong female character and seems to have everything she could want in her professional life. While we all know that vacations are absolutely necessary, her sisters book an extra special month-long vacation for her. Will this vacation with a smoking hot stranger show her a side of her she never knew existed, or will she just end up longing to get back to her successful career? I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the second book! I highly recommend giving this book a read especially if you love spicy romances.

Twisted Oath (Bound By Blood Book 1) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Emily H

Twisted Oath (Bound By Blood #1)Twisted Oath by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Salvatore grew up poor, orphaned and learned at a young age he wanted revenge. He took his time learning the De Luca ways. Although ignored by his mafia family as the bastard son he watched and planned his revenge for losing his Mother. He blamed Alessandro Giordano and seeing Serafina, the oldest daughter to Alessandro, he plotted his revenge which will include taking Serafina as his bride. What he didn’t plan for is to fall for her.

This was absolutely riveting. I was captivated by Salvatore, he is solely focused on revenge and Serafina once she accepts her role even though she is not happy with it falls for Salvatore. There is so much that unfolds during the story that you wont be able to put this one down. I am anxious to read the next book.

Twisted Oath (Bound By Blood Book 1)Twisted Oath by A. S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Twisted Oath is Book One in the Bound by Blood Series. It is a fast paced, dark romance story that centers around the characters of Serafina and Salvatore. This story is beautifully crafted, with fantastic characters, and will pull you into the twisted worlds of Salvatore and Serafina as they are drawn together while simultaneously being torn apart. Serafina is the head of a powerful family in Italy and dreams of escaping but feels misunderstood by everyone except one man. That man is Salvatore whose sole mission in life has been to seek revenge on those that wronged him. Salvatore had to learn to be strong to survive after being orphaned at the age of four years old. He vowed that one day he would take his rightful place and claim his birthright. The chemistry and attraction between Salvatore and Serafina is undeniable but for Salvatore revenge must come first. He has sworn to take vengeance to gain what is rightfully his as head of the family. Serafina finds solace in Salvatore but must push aside her dreams and do whatever it takes to protect her family. The relationship between the two is intense and explosive as it progresses through the story. A great read full of love, hate, vengeance, justice, passion, angst, drama, chemistry, suspense, romance, and intense emotions.

Grand Slam (Ground Rule Book 3) by Bree Kraemer – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

Grand Slam (Ground Rule Book 3)Grand Slam by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Grand Slam is Book Three of The Ground Rules Series. It is a sports romance story that can be read as a standalone, or as a part of the series. I highly recommend reading the entire series because this author has a fantastic writing style that will draw you into her stories and make you want to read more. This story centers around the characters of Grace and Heath.

Grace is working her dream job at the local animal shelter which she loves but it barely pays the bills. When she first meets Heath, it is during an event that she planned for the animal shelter, and she instantly dislikes him. She found him difficult to deal with as well as cocky. Heath is a professional baseball player who makes a lot of money and that also rubs Grace the wrong way. Months later Heath’s sister is having a baby and when he arrives at the hospital he is surprised to run into Grace. A woman he found bossy, rude, and who treated him like a child incapable of doing the simplest task while he was trying to help with the animal shelter event months earlier. Grace and his sister have become friends since the event which Heath was unaware of. Although Heath found Grace bossy and rude, he has not been able to stop thinking about her. Grace finds herself attracted to Heath as well but neither want to admit to their attraction to the other. Is there a chance of love and romance between them?

This was another phenomenal story by this talented author. Her writing style immerses you into the lives of the characters who you instantly feel a connection to. It was interesting to read Heath and Grace’s story and watch them evolve and grow as characters. The initial attraction between them slowly grows into more and you find yourself rooting for them to be together. Heath is a good-looking, professional ball player that makes a lot of money, but the fame and fortune have not gone to his head. He is down-to-earth, looking for the right girl and is not into playing the field anymore. Grace is smart, feisty, hard-working, and determined. She loves her job at the animal shelter and puts her heart and soul into her job. Although the two come from different worlds the attraction between them is undeniable. This book has love, romance, attraction, passion, humor, angst, and a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

A Match Made in Montana (The Millers of Marietta Book 2) by Elsa Winckler – Review by Jennifer Gordon

A Match Made in Montana (The Millers of Marietta, #2)A Match Made in Montana by Elsa Winckler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A heartwarming contemporary romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Annie Miller moves to Marietta to set up a B&B in the picturesque Bramble Lane, following the death of her parents. Having her brother and sister near by helps Annie to heal and also to forget her ex fiancé, who left her just weeks before their wedding. Meanwhile, workaholic marketing whiz Craig O’Sullivan from Portland is on a two week vacation in Marietta to see his cousin get married. When his Aunt Janice asks him to help Annie market her B&B he didn’t expect to fall in love! However, with Craig living and working in Portland and Annie’s life being in Marietta, the couple have to decide whether their developing relationship is forever or not. The chemistry between Annie and Craig comes across in the narrative and I felt engaged with the likeable and relatable couple, hoping they would get their HEA. The setting was brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative and the storyline had me hooked throughout. I look forward to returning to Marietta soon!

This was such a great read and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. I haven’t read the first book in the series and I would definitely like to read that one also. I like sports romance reads but never read a golf themed book before and I really was enjoyable. I liked Christy she was a lovely person and Ryan wasn’t quite was I was expecting either! They did seem to have a genuine attraction and chemistry. There were some great characters in the book and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

Another lovely read from this author and her lovely community at Buckeye Falls. What I love about this series is the couple featured all seem real and have relatable problems. I enjoyed Anthony and Natalie’s story and it does go to show that sometimes people can seem really happy on the outside but inside things aren’t always that great. I feel like these characters were really honest and genuine people who had just lost their way a bit. I loved seeing them find their way back to each other with a little help from the residents of Buckeye Falls!

Brutal Nights (Hidden Valley Elite Book 4) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Katie Matthews

Brutal Nights (Hidden Valley Elite #4)Brutal Nights by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok so Brutal Nights was everything I hoped it would be and more! Talk about angst in this book, it had it in bucket loads! I was fortunate enough that I didn’t have to wait after that cliff-hanger of the previous book and it was straight back into the action in Brutal Nights.
I really did feel for Sky, she definitely found herself caught up in the middle of something she really didn’t want to be in and all because she is such good friend and wanted to help Gia out on her quest for her senior year and unfortunately chemistry got in the way and thing didn’t go quite as planned!
This book was so easy to read and I honestly could not put it down, I was completely caught up in Sky and Damon’s story.
Brutal Days should be read prior to reading Brutal Nights – both stories were amazing read and I would highly recommend.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Craig and Annie, two different people, with completely different lifestyles on different paths, but they have one thing in common, neither of them ever want to get married. This is a story of what happens when those two paths merge. What happens when opposites attract?
Annie wants to start anew and opens a bed and breakfast in a new town, but how will she get the customers to keep them afloat. Craig is all business, all the time, and he knows the ins and outs of marketing. When he comes to Marietta for a wedding, these two paths merge as they lean on each other for more than just business. Was it fate? Will these two different people fit together? Will they have a change of heart when it comes to marriage? Read it and find out.
This was a very enjoyable book. It is one that you just fall into and feel like you are a part of it all. Like the characters are your friends and you are with them through it all. I definitely recommend this book. The only reason I only gave 4 stars is because I am very stingy with 5 stars and save them for very few books that are all time favorites.

I am very much enjoying this series so far and I really hope that it carries on the way it is. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and will be checking out some of other books by this author too.

This is a great second chance romance and one in which you will really root for the characters the whole way through. This book is a combination of some of my favourite tropes – second chance, secret baby, sports. I knew I was going to enjoy this book as soon as I started reading and I can definitely say that I did. It was lovely to see the connection between the main characters build again after so much time apart.
This is a new author to me and if this book is anything to go by it is one who will become very familiar. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and the overall writing style. It found the book to be easy to read, the perfect escape into a fictional world. I am looking forward to book 2 already.

A Match Made in Montana (The Millers of Marietta Book 2) by Elsa Winckler. I have loved this series and this second installment was amazing. Its the story of Annie who has moved to Marietta Montana to open a Bed & Breakfast. She is trying to get over her fiance breaking up with her weeks before their wedding. The only problem Annie is having is getting people to book the Bed & Breakfast. When Craig comes to town to for his cousin’s wedding he just happens to be a whiz at marketing so his Aunt automatically tries to set him and Annie up. Neither Craig nor Annie are in the market for a relationship so they aren’t interested. So they just enjoy each other’s company for the 2 weeks he’s in town. When it comes time for Craig to leave they realize they might have real feelings for one another. Will Annie be able to let Craig leave without telling him how she really feels? Sacrifice Bunt (Ground Rule Book 2) by Bree Kraemer. This is a really good enemies to lovers read. Its about Zara who is focused on her career and has no time for romance. She is almost like a man in the sense that she loves them then leaves them. Noah is a MLB player and a friend of a coworker of Zara’s so when he walks in on Zara completely naked waiting on his friend he can’t get her out of his mind. Zara thins Noah has a stick up his rear and she doesn’t like him because he found her in a vulnerable state. Zara doesn’t realize the trauma Noah has been thru and just doesn’t like him. When they kiss she changes her mind and can’t get him out of her mind. Will they be able to get past their hang ups and make a relationship work or will they let the problems of the past cause it to never work. This book will have you turning the pages late in the night until you are finished. Such a good slow burn read.

Can a dark mafia romance get any hotter? I thought the prologue was hot and romantic. I was wishing I had a Salvatore to come rescue me. I loved the way the story was set up to give us back history into why he is the way he is. Man, the action, drama, romance and story is WOW!! I loved it and couldn’t get enough. I have to admit that I stayed up most of the nights reading this. When I wasn’t reading, it was all I could think about. This author writes in a way that leaves you wanting more. Mafia at its best
I really do enjoy a good mafia story and this book did not disappoint. This is the first book in the Bound by Blood series and I am hooked. The writing is brilliantly crafted and draws you in. The characters are fleshed out and the storyline explosive. There’s drama, violence, alpha males, strong females and slow burn romance – everything that a good mafia story should have. This is not for the faint hearted and the author does not hold back from delivering a traditional mafia story. Looking forward to book two. Highly recommend.

A Match Made in Montana (The Millers of Marietta, #2)A Match Made in Montana by Elsa Winckler
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When i read the synopsis of this I was so excited to follow Annie in her journey of running her B&B in the mountains of Montana. I was a little disappointed in this book as a lot of the dialogue was corny to me and Annie seemed to say things out loud that most people would keep to themselves and I just did not enjoy that. It made me physically cringe at points. She was very open with her feelings of physical attraction to Craig but in a childish way. And her constantly calling him a hot sexy Irishman annoyed me to no end. The plot was okay and I enjoyed some of the chemistry between them but this was cheesy to me. Craig’s character was easier for me to handle and I appreciated him overall. I think I would have enjoyed this more had I read the first book because I felt confused at the connections and relationships between the other people in this book.
