Healing Kiss is a suspenseful Paranormal Romance about love and loss and is packed with drama, danger, suspense and maybe even a little humor. This is a new author to me and I’m definitely intrigued by her style of writing and attention to detail along with her creative characters make for a wonderful story. Lillian is a a nurse who has a secret gift of healing the sock by taking energy from the healthy. She’s being chased by a group called Kinetica they want to use her for their own gain. Lillian will stop at nothing to save her ill sister. Tristan is a man who is after one thing and he will stop at nothing to discover her secrets. I truly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend reading to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

For hundreds of years, Contermerria has suffered under oppressive ice and snow. A spell cast by the Vintar Court renders the mainland frozen and dangerous, strife with monsters. In the remote foothills of the north, the village of Dran is attacked by lethal predators.
While her townsfolk hide within the caverns, safe from the rimy beasts lurking around their homes, Maren is trapped outside with a thief from the jail. All her life, she’s been taken for granted as the village’s underappreciated healer. For so long, she’s wished for nothing more than to leave, but with her sister infected by a horrid, mystical disease, travel is impossible.
Now locked out of the caverns for months, she is faced with the idea of freedom and considers her companion’s proposition. Kane may be a criminal, but his offer of an alliance is her ticket out of Dran: help him find an item he’s lost while he takes her to a rare plant—the only known remedy for her sister’s ailment.
Leaving her home is no easy feat. From the moment she strikes out, she must find her way through danger, lies, and riddles. She was sheltered in her village, but out in the open, she struggles with too many questions about the fae and encounters rivalry among the royals. Kane doesn’t abandon her, standing with her as they face perils and vindictive royals. But can she trust this man?
Can she believe him when he suggests the impossible—that she, a common healer from the mountains, might not only be fae herself, but the one who can save all of the mainland?
Amabel Daniels lives in Ohio with her patient husband, a trio of adventurous girls, and a collection of too many cats and dogs. Although she holds a Master’s degree in Ecology and is a science nerd at heart, her true love is finding a good book. After working as an arborist and park technician, it’s not surprising that her fascination with nature shows up in her YA fantasy titles, especially the Olde Earth series.

“ Lillian Milano clutched her younger sister’s clammy hand between her palms. Hannah was only twenty-two. Too young to die. Lillian fought the panic pushing into her lungs, pressing on her chest like a weighted blanket. She dropped her head on the hospital bed rail. Deep breaths. Keep calm. Not the time to hyperventilate. Not the time to feel faint. Not the time for strong emotion. Strong emotion only weakened her healing ability. And without her life-saving gift, Hannah wouldn’t survive the night. ”
Healing Kiss is a wonderful paranormal romance from Amanda Uhl. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Uhl- so I really didn’t know what I could expect from one of her stories. But I love a great paranormal romance and the premise of this promised an original and captivating story- so I took a chance and dove right in. I am happy to say that I don’t regret my decision at all, as this proved to be just as engrossing as I had hoped. Lillian has been through quite a lot in the past few years. She had to flee her hometown not only for her safety, but that of her family as well. But when her sister suddenly falls deathly ill after a hiking trip with friends, Lillian’s secret just might be Hannah’s only chance of surviving. So, with her sister’s life on the line, Lillian heads back to the danger zone, determined to heal her sister, and hopefully avoid running into trouble while she’s there. But things get complicated when she meets Tristan, whose mother is also battling debilitating illness. And Lillian soon discovers that she really needs his help, in a very unconventional way. He may not realise it, but he holds the key to Lillian being able to heal her sister and keep her from death’s door. But he’ll also need something form Lillian, and so a bargain is struck. Will she be able to heal her sister, and keep out of danger? What is the danger she has been running from and why do they want Lillian so badly? What happens when the chemistry between Tristan and her starts to ignite? What happens when secrets are revealed? And what does fate have in store for them? Well, I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so you really should read all the intriguing developments for yourself to discover how everything plays out in the end. This is an original paranormal romance with supernatural elements, secrets, danger, fear, ex dramas, mystery, agendas, emotion, suspense, tension, love, loss, hope, family, trust issues, opposites attract, and finding love unexpectedly. I really enjoyed this charming story and look forward to exploring more of Ms. Uhl’s work in the very near future. Happy Reading…

I was on pins and needles the whole time with this book. I love a good enemies to lovers book, and this one perfectly flowed with the ending of the last book. There’s so much drama, mystery, and retribution in this book, and it’s 100% perfect. Riley and Cole are probably some of my favorite characters I’ve come across in a book like this! I highly recommend this series and this author! If you need me, I’ll be curled up with the next book!

Obedience: Ties That Bind, Book 1 AUDIO by Liza Snow
4.5 out of 5 Stars
This was definitely a fun one. I really enjoyed the story from the start and was very pleased with the direction it took. I expected something totally different but I’m glad I was wrong because now I can’t imagine it any other way. I loved how we are able to get the point of view of both, Cassandra and Chandler. I really enjoyed listening to Chandler’s voice when listening to the audiobook. I also like the fact that both characters are adults. Their age difference doesn’t feel weird because they are both in a time of their life when they can make the decision to be together without being creepy. I was unable to stop listening and finished it faster than any other audiobook. I was a little upset to be left in a little bit of a cliffhanger and can’t wait for the next part of their story but that’s maybe just me since I’m so impatient. Highly recommend!

I have read books from this author and she continues to surprise me with her story writing. This is the third book in the amazing lthe trading heartbeats series. You can read this as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I love that this author makes you feel like you are the characters in this book. I also love that she tells the story from both of the characters’ points of view. I could not stop reading this book until the end. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

What would you be willing to do to save someone you loved?
Lillian Milano is a healer. Yes, she’s a nurse but she has powers that go beyond nursing. She’s called to her sister’s bedside when Hannah becomes deathly ill. However, she must come under the guise of being Zoey and looking different.
Tristan King is a billionaire, having built an empire in the gaming/technology space. He’s got an ex-girlfriend who can’t see to understand the “ex” part and only became interested in him again when he came into his fortune. Tristan happens to witness an event with Lillian and now he’s intrigued. Tristan also has a family member suffering with an incurable disease. Can Lillian help him help her?
I loved this book and could hardly put it down. I really enjoyed the character development and how the story progressed. I’m excited to see where the next story might go, as I could see a sequel coming out of this (and I hope it does!). This was my first read by this author but I’ll be looking for more of her work!

I love this series! Savage Truth was such a great end to Cole and Riley’s story. That doesn’t mean the author is done with Cole’s brother and cousins just yet. I can’t wait for the next duel set in this series. Now back to Savage Truth. Savage has more meaning in this story than just a last name. For example Cole is a savage towards Riley especially once he learns her history, despite how he feels emotionally about her. His mind says she’s the enemy and that’s where she will remain. What happens when the past becomes reality, how does that change him? Riley gets the bombshell of a lifetime when she had to move into the Savage household aka Cole’s house. These two are constantly at each other’s throats, yet there’s so much chemistry between them it leaves them both off balance. Riley wants to leave, has begged her mom a few times to no avail. Her mom insists it’s the safest place for them. Unfortunately her gut is telling her otherwise. What happens when dangers are near, can these two put their animosity aside to stay alert? I could go on about this book and series for hours, however that means I would spoil it and that’s not what I want to do. You want a YA romance, you got it! You want enemies to lovers, you got that too! Oh and drama, so much drama. These books will have you craving more. And you absolutely have to start with the short prequel that starts Cole and Riley down this path. This series is full of duets that can be read together without reading the others. In this case there was a prequel so there’s 3. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

Not exactly enemies anymore but not exactly friends, Riley and Cole pick up where we left them. The sparks between them could light a small town but neither was willing to budge. Secrets are surfacing. As the tensions mount in the house, it appears that everyone is out for themselves except maybe their parents.
Things change when danger seems to creep around Riley from all directions. Riley’s father is really the bad man her mother has always talked about him being. When he pops up the first time, Cole stops something more from happening. Then, things take a crazy left turn when he pops up the 2nd time. Cole and Damon learn all the family secrets and what Riley has been hiding all this time. Cole, Damon and the cousins join forces with Uncle Ronan to make sure Riley is safe.
This series, especially this book, has been a roller coaster of emotions that keeps you on the edge of your seat and flipping through the pages. Until it ends, then it leaves you wanting more and missing your friends. This is the type of series that I just need to wait until they are all out and then spend the weekend immersed in their world because I can’t wait until I get to jump back into their Elite world again. I feel lost without them.
Read this one. Be sure to read them in order, but read this one. Read them all!!!

This book is amazing! I could not wait to start reading this after finishing the last and it did not disappoint. I had to know what was going to happen with this story. These characters are some of the best I have reads this year. They have such a strong connection and yet so much seems to stand in their way. I could not wait to see what the author had in store for them. I always really enjoy this author and these books have been some of my favourite. I have immensely enjoyed this series so far and cannot wait to see what is next.

Suspicions is the fifth book in the Notebook Mysteries Series. Set in 1880’s Chicago, this book follows Emma as she continues honing her sleuthing skills and solving mysteries everywhere she goes. This story starts off with a bang as Emma is hit from behind by an unknown assailant who starts stabbing at her with knitting needles. Not faltering for a moment, she is able to take the woman down and grill her for information to aid her in solving her latest case. The woman who attacked her is the head of a nefarious crime ring and Emma interrogates her seeking leads to solve a child kidnapping ring.
As Emma, Jeremy, and friends follow leads to solve the child kidnapping ring and rescue the abducted children they begin to realize it is part of something bigger. As they work to save the children smaller cases pop up everywhere and they realize that it is all part of a larger crime organization. The cases keep leading them to someone from Emma’s past who is behind bars, but Emma cannot figure out his involvement. Somehow from behind the prison walls he is able to pull Emma’s puppet strings and keep her guessing.
This was yet another great book by this amazing author. Although this could be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the other books in the series first. They will help to provide background information on the characters and provide details that will add to the fifth book. The characters, the plot, the storyline, and the settings are brilliantly described and immerse you fully into the story.
This story, as the others, grabs your interest from the first pages and does not let go. I was on an emotional rollercoaster ride along with Emma as she fought to save the children from the clutches of the organized crime organization. I felt tears of both sadness and joy as Emma and Jeremy swooped in to rescue the abducted children. The characters are ones that I immediately felt a connection with from the first book. Especially the character of Emma, who is easily relatable with admirable qualities. She is feisty, brave, pigheaded, determined, courageous, and wise beyond her years. A great read full of mystery, danger, heart pounding suspense, and nail-biting action.

I have to be totally honest and say that it took me a little while to really get into this book but at the same time when I look back I am not sure I can pin point exactly why. I know that doesn’t make sense right? LOL . I am really glad I persevered though because I did enjoy this storyline and these great characters created by this wonderfully talented author. Maybe I was just in a weird mood when I started reading it? who knows!! What all my rambling boils down too is that this is a suspense filled, paranormal read dealing with love and loss. As others have mentioned in their reviews the epilogue was fantastic and I’m so glad I got to read it. Give this great book a read. You won’t be disappointed.

Healing Kiss is the first book I have read by this author. I am not usually a fan of this genre but this book was well written and easy to read. The story flowed well and the characters were very likeable. Realistic events and happenings made the actions performed seem very natural and believable. I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for more from this author.

5 Stars Savage Truth (Hidden Valley Elite Book 2) by Isla Vaughn
Savage Truth is the second book in the Hidden Valley Elite duo and the conclusion of Cole and Riley’s story. I highly encourage you to read this in order as this book follows the characters and you will better understand what is going on. This is a Enemies to Lover’s Romance, high-school bully romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until the end. I read this in one sitting because I had to know what was going to happen next. Hot dang if I was sucked into Cole and Riley’s world and went along for the wild ride. This story is packed with drama, hatred, revenge, secrets, bullying and romance. These two had me turning the pages and at times I disliked them and the next was rooting for everything to work out. All it took was for one kiss to put her on his radar. He couldn’t get her out of his head. These two are playing a very dangerous game of cat and mouse. Will they survive it? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I don’t want to give to much away but its worth the time. I look forward to seeing what this author brings us next.

Savage Truth is the third book in the Hidden Valley Elite series by Isla Vaughn and is the final book in Cole and Riley’s story. It is a New Adult (High School) enemies-to-lovers “bully” romance with plenty of angsty drama, love, hate, jealousy, lies, secrets, family dynamics, sparks, chemistry, and sizzle. I highly recommend reading the previous two books before starting on this instalment, as not only do the whole story foundations begin there, but we also get lots of other relevant details, character introductions, backstories, and other important information which you really should know prior to diving into Savage Truth in order to help you better understand and appreciate this book, as well as the series as a whole. As we discovered in the first two books- The ‘Elites’ are the top of the food chain at Hidden Valley Elite high school. They are brothers Cole and Damon and their cousins, twin brothers Phoenix and Shane. They are the football stars of the school and rule the school and social circles. But things get a bit of a shake-up when Riley moves to town. One kiss ignites a flame that won’t be extinguished. But there are things happening in the background that neither Riley or Cole could have anticipated- making things even more complicated, fueling the fire between them. The circumstances tested everyone involved (yes, I know I’m being a bit vague here, but that’s because there’ll be no spoilers from me). Riley and Cole have taken us on quite a ride- as their story isn’t a ‘light and fluffy’ read, and at times the darker moments seem overwhelming and hopeless….. but amongst the bad-behaviour, angst, drama, chemistry, sparks, and clashes, there was also lots of emotion, as well as some lighter, heart-warming, and touching scenes. And let’s not forget all the sizzling encounters that steams up the pages. But Isla Vaughn didn’t make it easy for them, she really made them ‘work’ for their happiness- and I think the end result is fantastic….and in my opinion, the best book of the series, so far. Each of the elites are set to get their own book/s as well, making for a longer series to sink our teeth into. So, I am heading on to Book #3- Brutal Days, the start of Damon and Skylar’s story…. Happy Reading…

Operation Escape is the second book in the Space Force Rejects series and I liked it just as much as the first book. I do recommend reading this series in order to have a better reading experience overall. This sci-fi romance sucked me in and i enjoyed all of the main characters. It was fast paced and i was able to get through the book in one evening because i wanted to know what was happening throughout the story and where their mission was headed. I am looking forward to more by this author in the future! Happy Reading!

Finally, the conclusion I have been waiting for since February when I read the prequel to this duet. Isla Vaughn’s ability to leave you hanging at the end of the first book, Savage Lies and pick up in the same moment in Savage Truth is pure talent. This book starts up exactly where the first one ended, Cole has a name that can reveal everything. The emotions warring not only in Riley are reflected in Cole. Riley finally joins the swim team only for her to overhear an argument between her mom and Cole’s dad the same day as her first practice. He’s saying it’s too soon he had plans to get Riley seen by scouts without media attention or risk. Cole finally unleashes the secret he had been holding in for a year, that Raelyn, Riley’s mom was the woman with their dad “that weekend”. Fear is laced through both Riley and Cole at every interaction. She tries to stick to the rules that have kept her and her mom alive for years. He’s tired of the lies and is ready to get Riley and her mom out of his home and out of their lives, only he can’t stop the unrecognizable emotions racing through him. Riley has never had the chance to live, she has only had a life of running to survive until now. Feeling like she has it all she holds back keeping doubt at the forefront of her mind, that girls like her don’t get what they want. Cole recognizes his obsession with Riley but in the past, he’s never felt anything deeper than the physical, but with Riley he feels everything and he’s not sure he wants to give that up. Riley’s dad’s name is finally revealed, Nick, too many warnings, they have been in the same place too long and when she learns her father has a “contract” and plans for her upcoming 18th birthday Riley is ready to run again. Raelyn says no, this time is different we aren’t running we are staying. Can Riley and Cole end their war and just accept what they feel? Are they safe, can her mother be telling the truth? What will happen if Nick finds her? The characters the author has created continue once again to evolve in this amazing book. With each book we learn more and more, not only what they like or dislike but how deeply they feel, the pain of never being still for Riley has tormented her and now she has a chance to live. Cole makes her feel things she never experienced in her life, safety, and trust in someone other than her mother and uncle. Riley makes him feel everything, more than physical, he can confide in her and know she cares. The long-awaited promise of a happy ever after is worth the wait, you truly fall in love with the characters and pray they get all that they deserve. A chance to live, love and feel without fear.

This is book two in the series and I couldn’t put it down. I read the first one and got to know Riley and Cole. This book puts everything together that you needed in book one. It gives you the conclusion while setting up for the next book in the series. I can’t wait to read the next one!

Before discussing the fourth book, readers make sure you read the books in order. Was a bit confused out of the loop from not having the third book and helps explain parts of the fourth book. This time, Will and Maggie are adjusting to life in the 20th century when they receive a message from Dylan warning them to return to the past or risk changing the outcome of history. The novel takes into the twists and turns of time travel and its consequences. This is such a timeless (no pun intended) topic of time travel, will its effects alter past, present or future, and how to take advantage of traveling without major consequences.

Book two focuses on the struggles Will and Maggie face and how the circumstances drift them apart. Will is charged for treason and as he and Maggie try escaping but unfortunately are caught. Will is sentenced to death while Maggie is brought back to her family. The story takes readers into twists and turns to see how they will come together again and rescue Will from this fateful death. Readers, please make sure to read the first book in series. It will make the experience of the second novel better to understand and more enjoyable!

I fell in love with the setting and characters of this novel right away. Matthews definitely has a way of transporting her readers into 16th century Scotland taking us to the story of Maggie. I was honestly also very eager to read this series after reading that it is a time travel fantasy novel filled with romance, family, murder, suspense and so much more. Especially the popularity of the Outlander series, this book will also be the favorite of many other readers out there! Cannot wait to read the next one in this series!

Savage Truth is the second book in the Hidden Valley Elite duo and the end of Cole and Riley’s story. Make sure you read the prequel first Savage Start. You must read them all in order as they follow on from each other with the same characters. Savage Truth is an enemies-to-lovers, new adult, high school bully romance.
This intriguing and scandalous high school romance, it is full of hatred is palpable and angst, fiery passion and drama, dark lies and secrets, jealousy and fury and bullying.
One kiss and she was on his radar. She became his deadly enemy. He wants to play games? She can play games too. She has nothing to lose.
The deadly Elite, the Academy’s football stars rule on and off the ground. One kiss and now he can’t get her out of his head. One that may just be his undoing. One where the lies and secrets of others may be his undoing. Revenge has never tasted so sweet.
They are playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse one they might not survive.
There are characters you will love to hate and others you will hate to love and others you just want to reduce to ashes.
Who will be the victor?
I can’t wait for the other Elite to get their own books.

4 Stars Healing Kiss is a new adult paranormal story. Amanda’s writing style flowed well and was an enjoyable and easy to read. The concept is original and the plot is well laid out. There is magical and supernatural elements with some humour, fear, danger, lots of drama, thick desperation and palpable tensions running at an all-time high. This suspense tale is fast paced and enjoyable and is told in the third person narrative. The lead characters Lillian and Tristian are interesting and the attraction is fast and hard. Lillian is a nurse with a pure gift she heals the sick by taking energy from healthy people. She is in hiding as she is being chased by an underground group called Kinetica. They want Lillian for their own gain and will stop at nothing to get what they want. She will do whatever it takes to save her sister. Tristian is a man after one special woman and he is determined to discover her secrets no matter the cost. The story which took me a little time to get into as I enjoy a story told in multiple POV as you get to see inside the characters better.
I wonder if Hannah and Brian will get their own story.

This series was the first I had picked up by author Andrea Matthews, and I fell in love with it. I’m a sucker for time traveling and historical romance, so this was just the perfect pick for me. This was a thrilling adventure as Will and Maggie thought they could finally settle down in the twentieth century only to find that they have to go back to save their current timelines. I won’t give away any spoilers, but I was sure gripping the edge of my seat until the very end! How can Will and Maggie return to the past to help mend the rip in the fabric of time when they no longer have the stone? Will history be forever altered by their inability to jump back, or will they risk their lives trying to fix it all? I love the way the author created this world and these characters with such depth that it all feels so relatable. I highly recommend picking up this entire series if you enjoy historical romances and time travel!

This is the second book in the Hidden Valley Elite series and I really can’t express how much I love this series. I do really recommend you read the books in order so you get the full story between Riley and Cole because wow what a story. We are back with Riley and her mum having moved into Coles home. The tension between Riley and Cole is crazy and they have a sort of cat and mouse game going on where one is always trying to out do the other. From the outside it looks like pure hatred between them but if you look closer you see something sizzling under the surface. Riley is still holding secrets about her past and Cole is determined to find them and get rid of Riley and her mum for good. But when Riley’s past comes out in the open in a terrifying and brutal way it leaves Cole and Riley with the shocking realisation about their feelings and what it means. This story has some steam, lots of sexual tension and chemistry, some truelly emotional moment as both Riley and Cole learn to trust and open up and the danger of Riley’s past which could force them apart forever.
Amazingly written. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next in this series.
