The Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie. This is a great sci fi, m/m romance. I love this author and try to read everything they write so I wasn’t surprised I enjoyed it. Its the story of Kasper Kingston who is on a mission to shut down the two main crime families and take over for them. Leliphun is an alien who has been kicked out of his kingdom and the leaders there want to put him in the fighting ring he has no intention of fighting so he leaves and vows to never return. Jumping thru a portal he ends up on Earth. Kasper finds Leliphun passed out in the woods and takes him home but ties him up because he doesn’t know who or what he is. When he awakens he is questioned by Kasper but Kasper doesn’t believe any of his answers. Kasper is attracted to Leliphun and has to decide if he can trust him enough to help him or will he end up being the death of Kasper. Leliphun has to decide if he really wants to stay on this planet or does he want to try to go home? Read this fast paced romance to find out!

Red (Modern-Day Fairy Tale Book 2) by MK Harkins. In the second book of the Modern Day Fairy Tale series we get a rendition of Little Red Riding Hood. The main character is Lilly whose Mom has sheltered her so much that she is soo excited to go to college. Her mom even home schooled her to keep her away from all the bad things. When Lilly gets to college she meets George and falls in love instantly the only problem is, George is still in love with his high school sweetheart. George is so wrapped up in her memory he can’t seem to move forward. What will Lilly have to do to get him over this girl? This is such a fun, young adult, fantasy retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and you will catch a ton of metaphors in the story. I do recommend reading the first book before this one to learn the characters better. I can’t wait to read the next one!

There were so many nods to different fairy tales throughout this book. I enjoyed seeing which ones I could spot and who each character was based off. It’s was also a very cute read. It is a good YA book for preteens and teens.

Akinosho is a new author to me. This book was not my cup of tea. However the book has been well written, the characters are likeable. I did find this book ran slow in some parts but ran smoothly in other parts. If you like a book that has twists and turns, some suspense and heart break then I recommend that you read this book. While I have recommended this book to be read by some of you, it is definitely a book that needs to be read in order for you to make up your own mind. On the way the book is written I am rating this book a 4 star.

Having read the first book in this series I was excited to pick up the second and discover another reimagined fairytale. This book is a different take on Little Red Riding Hood and I have to say that I absolutely loved it. I thought I knew what to expect from the first book but this one was so much better! I quickly became invested in the story and I loved the addition of the guardian angel. The characters were interesting and fit the story well. There was more going on with them than I expected which made them even more enjoyable to read about. You do not have to read the previous book first (although you should because it is also amazing!) as this book in a standalone. It is a fantastic retelling and, if this is a sign of what is to come, I cannot wait for the next one this author has to offer!

I love that this is a continuation from book one, Ashes! This modern day Little Red Riding Hood has some unexpected twists and turns throughout. A very enjoyable read that makes it hard to review without giving too much away!

I’m not a huge age gap fan, but this book was really really good. I absolutely wanted to throttle Declan at the start of the book when he promised Anna the world and then left her at the alter. The heartbreak that Anna went through, I just wanted to hug her and keep her from the world. When Declan came back into her life I wanted him to just leave and not come back. The ups and down put me through the wringer. When problems would arise and the communication broke down I got really frustrated. I really enjoyed reading this book, and the storyline was written really well and put together.
With my plan to weaken the two major crime families set in motion, I retreat to a remote cabin to wait out the destruction and plan my takeover. None of my plans included a man claiming to be from another planet.
Believing he’s been sent to kill me, his ridiculous claim a distraction meant to throw me off, I hold him prisoner. But then he goes and saves my life. Maybe there’s something to this alien thing after all. One thing is certain, my pathway to power just got a whole lot easier with him on my side.
All I have to do now is stay focused on the mission and not get distracted by the allure of my otherworldly hero.

I’ve never read anything like this! This is the cutest story! Reminiscent of Hallmark in the best way. Such an easy way to spend a day; comfy in your favorite spot with your favorite drink & favorite snack, to try this book. A little splash of romance & a touch of excitement that you can just happily enjoy without your heart being broken lol. Full of potential & originality!

Having been at a funeral the day before starting this read I think emotions were still very high but reading what Adelaide had to go through with her mother in jaw and so called best friend had me sick to the pit of my stomach and what little I knew of her and Scott at the time I think he would’ve been mortified , I’m sorry sorry Adelaide 😭😭🤗
So Adelaide buys an old run down farmhouse in a small town called Williwbrook Lake and yes it’s falling apart but I’m already in love with it and the town 🤣🥰and it seems Adelaide has found her people …. So a few chapters in and already I knew this was going to be one of my favourite reads for the year ! I settled in with a chai latte (Adelaide had he craving for one ) and got lost in a beautiful read
Adelaide is a gentle soul and the town has fallen in love with and it’s mutual she’s really found home and her people and she deserves a second chance at happiness ….🥰
Then there’s little Nora 🐾❣️🐱the little furry feline that steals Adelaide’s heart and I’m a firm believer that the way a person treats an animal speaks volumes of their character and Adelaide has a pure heart , a kind and sincere soul , I’d like to claim her as my new bestie 🥰🤣😉and let’s not forget Kane and Stella 🐾I looked up their breed and they’re huge! But they’re really loveable 🐶🐾🥰
Owen’s bark is worse than his bite he just wants to come across as gruff and uninterested but he’s just a real old teddy bear and Adelaide got under his skin that first day she nearly caused an accident ….. when he allows to help with the renovations he’s always patient with her , he cares about her well being and safety and he’s almost always around when she needs him … if she wasn’t going to take him I was going to 🤣🙈🥰 as much as he wants her he respects her loss and that makes me love him even more , these 2 belong together and I’m sorry she had to go through such a heartache to find her HEA 🥰
The people of Willowbrook are kind , loving , supportive and a tight knit community , friendships are built that last lifetimes , you just want to be a part of them 🥰 can’t wait to visit again 😉

Declan and Anne …. An age-gap romance, Best Friends Older brother, Second Change, Contemporary Romance. This book falls into so many different categories yet all I can say is it is a really good story. I love Anne with all I have in me. She is a fantastic person and wow she has a heart of gold. This book will draw you in and take you along for all the twists and turns and heartbreak, then patch you up with a drama filled HEA. I loved this story and was rooting for Anne and Declan from the first look in the rear-view mirror.
I knew when I finished book 1 in the series that I was going to want to read more about this town and the people living in it. Honestly, I really wanted to read more about Hank, he is my favorite. Being introduced to Ted some and the mentioning of Stephanie in book one had me feeling already a little comfortable with them and definitely interested in seeing more. I love that Joe & Abby are still a topic of conversation in this book with their love/hate relationship and that Hank is so invested in playing the town matchmaker. There is definitely a benefit reading the first book, but I don’t think it would be too confusing as a standalone. I look forward to reading more about Herd and of course, Hank.

I love fairy tales and this modern twist on classic fairy tales is exciting and fresh. Ashes had a bit of Cinderella in it and this one is loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood. There isn’t an actual wolf dressed as granny in this story but you’ll catch the similarities. So much happened in this story and I don’t want to ruin any details but more than one person finds their love match. I cannot wait for the next one!

In the Midst of Omens by Nicole Bailey loosely follows the story of Gilgamesh. As a god king, he is cocky and on a relentless pursuit to ensure his name stands the test of time. This lifelong and obsessive goal is concerning for his goddess mother and mortal wife (who is more the role of best friend/little sister figure for him). With the interest of helping Gilgamesh see the real meaning of life, his wife beseeches his mother for help; thus the creation of Enkidu. Unsure of what his life’s purpose is and why he was created, Enkidu is drawn to Gilgamesh once they meet. Both men feel something pulling them to each other, neither fully understand why or how they can help each other. Drama, adversary, angry goddesses and horrible beasts abound in this MM/polyamory love story. (I was not expecting the MM POV, so heads up if that is not your koolaid). The book was well written and relatively fast paced, although I did have a hard time getting into it and honestly not sure why.

Great read, it’s short and flows well. I love that it is based at a Renaissance event. As someone who also loves Ren fairs and cosplay I really liked the descriptions and detail it had. Then adding in a mystical aspect with rat men made it even more intriguing. I just wish it had been longer so I could know what happened with Heather and Rylan and if they defeated the rat men.

This book will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat with all of the twists and turns Akinosho throws at you. I really enjoyed Anne and Declan’s story and everything they had to go through to eventually get their HEA. Their story has it all…suspense, heartbreak, second-chance, age-gap, alpha touch-her-and-die vibes, etc. I really loved the way Akinosho wrote these two…especially Anne. She isn’t your typically “needy” girl who just fawns over Declan because he’s her best friends older (and very hot) brother. In fact, she tries extremely hard to avoid him. Anne is just a very well-written character and I appreciate that. Declan is very much an alpha (in all the good ways) with an off standish attitude, but touch-my-girl-and-die outlook when it comes to Anne. I really love the dynamic between the two. The plot line is also very well written and flows nicely. You won’t regret picking up this read!

I haven’t read to many country cowboy romance books, but I’m glad that I gave this one a chance. It was cute and funny and all the things you think of when you think country romance. Ted, who is a lead cowboy for a local ranch has settled in Montana after the loss of his wife. Not looking for much more than something to keep him busy and away from the pain, he settles into a new life she didn’t expect to permanent. He always thought he would move on. When he meets Stephanie, a yoga instructor, kindergarten teacher, event planner, and community volunteer he starts to feel that maybe he can love again. But he’s her boss. And then she’s his niece’s teacher. Plus he’s way to old for her. Right? Stephanie has a major crush on Ted, but she knows she just has to get over it. She can barley even talk around him! When she’s around him she becomes a whole other person. One that can’t talk or communicate. When Ted’s sister leaves his niece with him with just about no warning he enlists Stephanie’s help with Maddy. Spending extra time with her is just a bonus. Things heat up for Stephanie when a parent starts to cause trouble and an emergency has everyone looking at life and figuring out what they all want. This book was so good!!! I loved all the ranch stuff and I think that it’s super cute that the kindergarten teacher is falling in love! I won’t give away anything, but I personally really liked the book. Grab it! You will love it too!!

This is the second book in the Match Made in Montana series, and it was wonderful! This can be read as a standalone and not be lost whatsoever, but you’ll want to pick up the rest of the series anyways because the author has an amazing writing style. I found that this slow burn really tugged at my heart and found the characters relatable. Ted is a gentlemanly cowboy working at the Kincaid Ranch, but he’s also a bit of a grump. Stephanie seems like a bit of a workaholic, but she just likes to be busy. She’s a take charge person who says what’s on her mind…unless she’s around Ted. She’s got a crush on him and loses all words when he’s around. I loved the two of them together with their chemistry as well as getting to know them independently. Even though this is an age gap, I feel like the author didn’t solely focus on the numbers which helped build the story more for me. I cannot wait to continue this series!

This is an age gap romance that is a very slow burn, yet tender. Stephanie has had a crush on Ted for a long time now. Ted’s a little sweet on Stephanie but he’s afraid that he’d be rejected because of the age difference.
This story reminded me a little bit of my own love story. My hubby and I have a significant age gap in years and we were both fearful of the other’s feelings about that at first.

I’ve read the previous book in this series and this second one did not disappoint! Great storyline, relatable characters as well as their situations, and clean type affection is what to expect from this story as well! Continuing the stories of those from Kincaid Ranch, this story focuses on Ted and Stephanie. Ted, older and experienced, has been helping at the ranch for quite some time now seeking a new beginning. His mindset is strictly working life. When his family come to visit him along with his five year old niece, he realizes he’s got his hands full and reaches out for help from Stephanie, a much younger teacher, has been attracted to Ted for the last couple of years but ends up being such a nervous wreck around him. I do enjoy reading romance stories with age gaps and especially this being a clean romance can focus on the possibility of physical attraction and deeper emotions.

This is a age gap small town romance with some drama and definite slow burn….Catch A Cowboy is Book 2 of the Match Made in Montana series. While this book would be read as a stand alone, I do recommend reading the series from the beginning as characters are intertwined. I did enjoy the story of Stephanie and Ted….I was hoping for a bit more “feels” that I love of romance when two people whom are meant to be together.
Ted Stirling is definitely not looking for love. He works at the Kincaid Ranch…….cowboy life. Ted never expects to be anything more than just friends with Stephanie Patricks, who is working as a kindergarten teacher at the local school. When Ted’s sister is asked to help with his niece while she packs up her life and move back home with him….it can be a big adjustment for Ted to care for his niece in her mothers temporary absence. Stephanie has had her eyes on Ted for quite a long time, but feels he does not have the same feelings like she does. Teaching at the local school, Stephanie is nurturing and caring toward her students and when Ted’s niece comes to class as a new student, makes her feel welcomed. Things get a bit hairy with timing, Stephanie helps Ted when she can to make a smooth transition for his niece.
As Ted and Stephanie get to know each other, sometimes the past holds them back and constant thoughts on their age gap…..but when an emergency occurs…will Ted see his feelings and what his heart wants with Stephanie…..
Definitely read and find out. This is a good story and I am looking to see what is next in this series,

Ted works at the Kincaid Ranch is grumbling around the ranch happy in his job but not too interest in romance. Although there is one person who might break his grump, Stephanie.
Stephanie has always had a soft spot for Ted, but when ever she is around him she becomes a blubbering wreck, but when Ted’s sister arrives and she is asked to help with Maddie his niece can he truly see her or will there combined heartache hinder them finding each other.
This is the second book in the series and although this can be read as a stand alone story there are some cross over with the first story. I love the slow burn as with the first book and Ted and Stephanie are the great together and although at first that Ted is against the attraction as of the age gap but as the story goes on and his niece who he is besotted with captures Stephanie’s heart aswell the chemistry then jumps of the page and has you delving into the story.
The way the characters are weave through the story is just brilliant and the secondary characters add to the twists and turns of the book.
I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This author is a talented writer who presents her readers with great wholesome romances that should be read and enjoyed if you love cowboys and western/small town themes. This particular book is a clean, slow burn romance and an age gap story featuring a grumpy thorny cowboy and a light and sunshine younger kindergarten teacher. Both have things in their past that have effected them and that helps shape their stories.

Another enjoyable and engaging story in this series of standalone novels. Kincaid Ranch’s lead cowboy, Ted Stirling settled in Herd, Montana following a devastating loss over ten years ago. He’s not looking for love but if he was then he would choose kindergarten teacher, Stephanie Patricks, but she is much younger than him. Stephanie has a crush on Ted and gets nervous around him, but when he needs help with his five year old niece, she is happy to help. When an emergency occurs it makes Ted realise how fragile life is and that he needs to decide if he’s willing to give love a second chance, with Stephanie. This is a sweet, heartwarming, clean romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Stephanie and Ted are likeable and relatable characters and I loved how their slow burn romance developed throughout the story.

I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into this ! I love the first book and I already missed Hank and Colby 🥰😉
So it was good to catch up with Meg , Ryan , Colby and Hank , but this time it’s about Ted and Stephanie 😉
So as we all know Ted works for the Kinkaid’s and he’s a quiet man , he goes about his life and tasks and keeps very much to himself . Summer is coming to an end and he realises he’s sad to see Stephanie go , she’s a teacher by trade and a yoga instructor in the summer , she’s a sweet gentle soul , a real ray of sunshine but he’s older than her and feels she needs more but resisting her becomes harder when his sister and niece pitch up and Stephanie steps up in so many ways to help with “ Squirrel” not only as her teacher but as a friend …..
Stephanie is a real honey and she deserves happiness and I just love the way she swoons over Ted 🥰she’s got a big heart and she doesn’t deserve the nasty treatment she get from Candace , even when she was warned against her she kept a kind word towards her but Candace is vindictive , nasty and a bully and it’s sad because her little girl in watching her and mirroring her behaviour 😢so enough about and her let’s focus on the important people and their beautiful hearts ….
Ted has his heartache and I get it was hard for him to let go and love again and this makes me love him even more , he dotes on maddy ( squirrel) and his sister , family is important , he’s got a brilliant work ethic , a love for animals and you can tell alit of s man’s character by the way they treat an animal 🥰😉🐾 Stephanie is lucky to have him , it goes both ways though 😉
Stephanie helps where she can and who she can , she shares info willingly and I think that came in handy with Meg and big ideas 🤩she’s kind , loving , humble , genuine and generous and I’m grateful her life is enriched with a loving man 🥰
I love being in Herd and can’t wait for my next visit 🥰 and being part of the unmasking of a cowgirl 😉❣️📚

I’m a bit of a cover nerd and this one is no exception 😉 especially because it sticks to theme , you’ll understand me if and when you read the book 📚❣️
I must say I was a little envious at first of Heather and who won’t be she finally agrees to go to a Renaissance reenactment with her friends and like her I’d be excited and hopeful to swoon over some “ knight” and find my one true love 💕 and at a stage a it would seem she’s found it in “ Sir Roland” she’s blissfully unaware of what’s lurking in the dark , she finds something more bizarre and frightful that her one true love …..
Not my go to genre but I enjoyed the fantastical trip and distraction with rangers,shifters , rat men and a wise old 🦉

Cat Treadgold has been a publisher and editor, a classical singer, an Equity actress, a coordinator in Newsweek’s External Relations Department, a legal secretary, a voice teacher at Shoreline CC, a receptionist at a major recording studio, a cater-waiter with Glorious Foods, a restaurant hostess, a member of an opera quartet, and a coat-check girl at a fancy New York nightclub.
Cat has an AB cum laude in German Literature from Princeton University, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Washington, and a certificate in Technical Writing and Editing from the UW.
Two of her unpublished novels made it to the finals in their categories (mystery and romance) in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association Annual Contest.
Three of her adaptations of operas (original translations and dialogue) were performed by Shoreline students while she was a teacher there.
She and her husband Jeff divide their time between Washington and Arizona.
