Shadowed Agenda: An Enemies to Lovers Action-Packed Romantic Suspense Thriller (Shadow Defense Security Series Book 2)Shadowed Agenda: An Enemies to Lovers Action-Packed Romantic Suspense Thriller by Mavery Ellscott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging enemies to lovers romantic suspense thriller, which had me hooked throughout. When Regan Christenson and her daughter are threatened she turns to former Navy SEAL Pavlo Barislov, even though he annoys her. Pavlo finds Regan just as annoying but does not hesitate to protect her especially as the danger increases, but thankfully Pavlo has a relationship with Shadow Defense Security. The couple find themselves in an unexpected minefield full of deceit and treachery, and Pavlo starts to doubt whether he can keep them all alive. What neither of them expected was the sizzling chemistry and growing connection between them. This was an action packed story with great characters, and a slow-burn romance at the heart of the storyline. The plot twists kept me gripped and I found this book to be a real page turner. It can be read as a standalone story, and there are no cliffhangers.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a wonderful addition to the series!! Maddie and David’s story flows so well with the continuation of all the others. Having read the previous books in the series there were some redundant parts but necessary for someone who started with this book. I’m not sure I like the ending because it just, well, ends. There’s no summation or even a fin. Overall great book!

The Magic Man (The Olympic Peninsula series Book 3)The Magic Man by Cat Treadgold
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely love this book series, if I could give it more stars on the rating scale I would. The Magic Man is the third book in The Olympic Peninsula series, where we get to read the story of Joe’s older brother, David, and find out about what happened to cause him to return from his time working as a doctor in Africa. Not only do we get to follow along with David, but we also get to know Maddie’s story. The sparks were flying between David, Kilo, and Maddie, at the end of the last book in this series, it’s time to find out which guy she chooses to be with. Also, what is up with Sylvia, David’s fiancé from Africa, he claims he will not be marrying but has to deal with issues that are weighing heavily on him. I love that this series takes place in the Pacific Northwest, a place I know very well. Cat Treadgold has done an amazing job portraying the beauty of Port Townsend, and the feeling of unity that is so well-known in its small community. It’s great that we get to continue with the story of the main characters from the first 2 books in this series. This group has grown together, but sometimes being together all the time, can lead to feelings of being too close. Will each of the couples be able to work through their marital issues, or will we see some relationships that have been building take a turn for the worse? You will not want to put this book down once you start reading it, the best part, is you do not have to read them in the order that they were written, I prefer to do it this way, but each book can stand on its own just as well. You’ll just be missing out on some great stories if you skip any.

I absolutely enjoyed the first book in the series and this follow-up definitely did not disappoint at all. The author continues to write an action-packed, fast paced story with plenty of twists and turns. I absolutely couldn’t put it down until I had read the last page! I am always a sucker for that slow burn enemies to lovers relationship and this book definitely hit it out of the park. The author did a great job of creating well rounded characters that you really love and care about. Regan and Pavlo are fabulous together and seeing their relationship with each other grow and change, during all of the suspense and danger. This is a wonderful series that can be read in the series or as a standalone. I definitely can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!

I like this series. Shadowed Agenda was a wonderful second book in the series. A suspenseful romance thriller. Keeping the reader on their toes trying to figure out what’s going to happen next. The author brought together two characters that dislike one another, did they really or was it for show?
Regan and Pavlo are a pair. Matched together to do a book tour by their publicist they couldn’t be any different. Personalities as well as what they write about. The idea was because they both sold rights to their books for entertainment purposes. What Regan doesn’t know is that writing is Pavlo’s side job. His real job is to serve and protect anyone who contacts the Shadow Defense Security team. A team made up of all ex-military personnel, especially Seals.
Regan quickly learns who Pavlo truly is when threats start to be made on her life. He instantly goes into protection mode. However what happens when lines blur and he wants more from this woman than to protect her. But that can’t be right, they drive each other crazy. She’s frustrating and stubborn. He’s egotistical and a player. Will she give in to what they are both feeling?
The author takes us on a while ride, with a budding relationship thrown in. A book that keeps you wanting more. A book with an ending twist one didn’t see coming. A book you should look into reading right now.

A King So Savage (The Savage Duet) by April Moran – Review by Michelle Austin

A King So Savage (The Savage Duet #1)A King So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. Ava is taken by Kingston due to her brother’s debts. Ava is a strong character that definitely called to Kingstons dark desires. Ava is drawn to his dark and dangerous side. And boy do we get some hot and steamy moments.

Overall I really enjoyed this book.We get betrayal, danger, very dark, secrets and so much more. We get dual POV which I love so we can see what both of them are thinking. The author does a great job with her writing and I didn’t want to put it down until I was done. We do end on a cliffhanger since there is a part two and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. If you’re looking for a great read, 1-click and get started today.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book grabbed me from the beginning. This is a true dark mafia story. Please heed the trigger warnings if you feel you need to. I was completely drawn into this book with its drama, suspense, angst, chemistry, murder, great characters and more. King and Ava have definite chemistry but she hates him and he’s obsessed with her and he keeps going back and forth about what he wants to do with her. Both Ava and King have had a rough time in their lives and it has affected how they are as adults. This author has a way with words that make understand the feelings the characters are going through. This book leaves you on a bit of a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read book two. I recommend this book.

Oil and Water. Suspense, tension, enemies to lovers. Check. This is the second book in the Shadow Defense Security series. Yes, they technically could be read as standalones, but I felt having read the first book it helped fill in some of the background details. Personally, after first meeting Pavlo in book one was very excited to learn more about him and his story. Dual perspectives of Pavlo and Regan.
Pavlo is a suspense thriller writer with a secret, he is one of five partners of the Shadow Defense Security company. He’s the perfect undercover agent and more times than can count it came in handy for a mission. Only this time the mission is in his real life not one he can just be the author looking for research on a new book. Regan is a soft romance writer that has overcome a disastrous marriage and found her own both for her and her daughter, Emmeline, who has a congenital heart defect. She has become very independent and doesn’t need help from anyone but learns the hard way, sometimes the strongest thing we can do is ask for help. One encounter month earlier left an unpleasant impression in each other’s mind of the other. Now a five-day book tour forces them together and it might be the best thing to ever happen to them. Their publicist Isla, once seen as Regan’s friend and trusted by both Regan and Pavlo, is acting desperate about a private book signing and not acting herself. New friends’ allies turn into friends and enemies turn into so much more.
Why has Isla changed so suddenly? Does Regan’s ex have a deeper role? Can Pavlo succeed in keeping Regan safe when everyone is after her? A deeper dive into Pavlo was beyond anything I could have imagined. He’s very different from Cade in book one and yet both couples are similar in their desires to protect those around them. I have said it before and will say it again. I love enemies to lovers and love knowing a book has a HEA from the beginning because the hope lives inside our hearts as we discover the overwhelming twists and turns, they survive to reach that happy ending. I cannot wait to see what partner we will read about next, Javier? Drake? Or Seb? Only time will tell but, in the meantime, I will be going back and reading Gray Code Liaison, the prequel to Cade’s story.

Return to the northwest with this series of novels. Leap into the world of the theatrical with this installment. When families intertwine, the drama ensues, and not merely the theatrical kind. There are so many sets of twins, you may lose your head trying to keep it all straight. Add in a modern romance, and this book is a winner for sure!

Orenda is book 2 in the Latitude series and I highly recommend reading this series and include
The Antipodes series as well! I always look forward to when the next books come out…. giving me all the feels that I love with dystopian romance, adventure, drama, intensity and a journey with the next steps with some twists and turns.

Caitlin and Gio are navigating what is next come between marriage and becoming ambassadors along with parenting, it can be a lot to take on. As they build a life together in Canada…an enemy from the past is back…will this impact Caitlin and Gio and their loyalty to each other ….

I love that the author takes me on a journey with each book and with the elements of sci fi just brings added new flavor that I love….I was turning the pages and at the edge of my seat with this book….trying to see what happens next!!

This is the second book in the Shadow Defense Security Series. Even though it is part of a series, each book is about a different member of the team so they can be read as a standalone. However I feel once you have read one you will want to read more to discover every member of the team. These book are romance Suspense read with a touch of enemies to lovers, lots of sizzling chemistry and danger really makes this story a gripping read. We’ve got a protective male and a female who is strong willed and no damsel in distress so she doesn’t make his life easy.

This is Pavlov and Regan’s story. Pavlov and Regan are on the same book tour, both promoting this new books. However they can’t stand the be around each other. Regan sees him as a alpha male and from past experience she wants nothing to do with men like that.
Pavlov sees Regan as a woman who is stubborn and strong willed and to much hassle. He plans to get through this book tour and go their separate ways with as little interaction as possible.
However that all changes when Regan and her daughter are threatened and despite himself Pavlov can’t help but step in to protect her, whether she wants his help or not.
Who is threatening Regan? Do they pose a serious danger? Can Pavlov protect her and her daughter? And what happens when it becomes impossible to keep his distance anymore and feelings start to become more complicated.

I love these books. Each guy is unique and the story’s are fast paced with engaging characters which makes them an enjoyable read.

Wicked Ends: A Dark College Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Series, Book 8 ) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Jessica Stone

I can’t say it enoughhhh, I absolutely love this book series! The boys, major heart eyes, and the lovely ladies, they’ve all quickly grown on me. But I cannot stress this more, you have to start from the very beginning, there is no hopping in Willy Nilly, you will be VERY lost and lose out on some awesome character building, family building, relationship drama loveliness.

I believe this character is going to finish out this series, the broody last brother Shane, personally I believe he’s a bit more of a tortured soul then the other boys were but, that’s a personal opinion. I’ve enjoyed how every book gets a bit more, crazy, mores going on, building up, headed towards a crazy climax.

Winter, to be honest, not my favorite character, she rubbed me a bit raw with her treatment of Shane in the past, but as always if I start out not to keen on a character somehow Isla pulls out a perfect redemption for them and by the end I’m sold. I’m pretty sure I spent the first half of this book holding my breath, trying to keep it together, these poor boys have been through the wringer but, worth it. All of it was perfectly crafted, this whole series, each individual character and their stories which all tie perfectly together. I can’t praise this series enough.

I will definitely be going back through and re reading from the beginning of this series when it’s finished just to get the full experience back to back cohesively, though it won’t be like reading them the first time, I have high hopes it’ll be just as good even knowing what’s going to happen.

Wicked Ends (Hidden Valley Elite #8)Wicked Ends by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This series is such an awesome read about the four elite guys at Hidden Valley School and the girls they care for. I would suggest reading this series in order, not because you have to, but because it’s a great series, and you get to see a lot about each of the main male characters as they are present in each other’s stories and lives, being as they are all four related and best friends as well. Also note, this series has two books, a continuation duo for each of the four heroes, making it an eight-book series with a novella that comes before the first book in the series.

This is the conclusion to Shane and Winter’s story as well as the finale of the series, and though I’m sad to see it go, I’m so glad I found it to begin with. Isla Vaughn has written a phenomenal series here with love, danger, teen angst, drama, and so much more! I can’t wait to see what this author does next!

Shane and Winter have both faced a lot in their lives and they both carry emotional baggage and damage from their pasts! Can two damaged souls learn to trust each other and find something beautiful within the other? Will the danger surrounding them come crashing down on them? Find out these answers and more in this amazing finale!

It is also amazing to get to see the 5-year time-lapse at the end of the book, where we can see what the couples are up to and how they have grown etc. or if they are still together. Because can these couples who have faced so much really get past their Savage, Brutal, Cruel, and Wicked realities to find their happily ever afters?

I have been waiting for the conclusion of Shane and Winter’s journey and the end of the Hidden Valley Elite simultaneously…and I was a smidge disappointed. I felt like book 8 was rushed. And it could be me being biased because Isla Vaughn is most definitely a one click author for me and maybe I wasn’t ready…

I think they could have a little bit more justice for all the wrongs that they had in their lives.

I AM looking forward to her next series. I’m sure she’ll keep us on the edge of our seats/beds…wanting to throw our Kindles.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shadowed Agenda is Book Two in the Shadow Defense Security Series. It is an action packed, romantic suspense, enemies to lovers’ story filled with tension, danger, drama, and action. The story centers around the characters of Regan and Pavlo and is told from each of their POV. Regan and Pavlo are both on tour with their latest novels. Regan is not thrilled about this because she thinks that Pavlo is annoying. Pavlo is equally unhappy touring with Regan because he finds her too independent. They do their best to avoid each other and stay out of one another’s way. Or they did, until the life of Regan and her daughter were placed in danger after she turned down a private book signing with a woman who is in line to be the next first lady. Suddenly danger lurks around every corner and the one person she can trust to keep them safe is Pavlo and Shadow Defense Security. As Regan and Pavlo get to know one another better the chemistry between them intensifies. This book was well written with an intriguing storyline, great plot, amazing characters, and vivid scene descriptions. I loved the character of Regan who was fierce, strong, independent, and stubborn. All traits that initially annoyed Pavlo but were what made him fall in love with her. This book had mystery, deceit, betrayal, chemistry, passion, romance, and twists and turns that will keep you riveted until the end.

The Magic Man Audiobook (The Olympic Peninsula Book 3) by Cat Treadgold – Review by Cindy Mayberry

I love this series, it has so much romance and comedy, a mean girl and family events. Maddie and David are the cutest. They can try to hide it, but it is there for those who are reading this story. So how long can Maddie and David go before they let their true feelings come out? Just what happened to David while he was in Africa?  Let’s not forget Sylvia David’s Fiance, where does she fit in? The author has once again written an intriguing page turner. I listened to the author read her story and was caught within the first chapter. The story was well written and easy to follow. It has everything a great romance can give you. Please read the first 2 books in order. As there is so much more to this story.

A King So Savage (The Savage Duet) by April Moran – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

So this is the first book in The Savage Duet Series. In this book, we learn about Ava Blue who is taken captive by Kingston Winter. This book contains violence, adult situations which may not be suitable for all readers. Kingston Winter is the villain in this story but he could also be a hero at times. Ava Blue was kidnapped to pay a debt owed by her brother Carson. Carson Blue owes Kingston 2.6 million dollars and Kingston wants his money or he will take Ava and auction her off to the highest bidder. You will love to hate Kingston throughout this story. I actually can’t wait to read book 2 bc of where this book left off. I promise you that this book is worth the violence and adult situations that arise in it. Do you think Carson will pay off this debt to get his sister out of King’s clutches or does he even care that his sister is caught in the middle of his troubles? Read to find out for yourself,  I am not going to give away the answer…

Orenda is the second book in the Latitude Series. I love the writing style of this author. It’s easy for me to get lost in the story. It feels natural. This series gets you thinking. I believe somewhere at the end of the book it said the Orenda is an Iroquois belief that all natural objects and people possess a mystical energy. I personally believe that’s true. I think everyone has gift and some people use it more than others some people can tap into it and some ppl choose to ignore it. I think Caitlin uses her gift very well in this series.

This book is book 2 in a series, and though it can be read as a standalone, this series is so good that you won’t want to.

Authors Regan Christenson and Pavlo Barislov are on a book tour for their newest books when their publicist, Isla, suddenly tries to force Regan to meet with the wife of a senator for a private book signing. Regan wants no part of this meeting because she is morally opposed to the senator’s stances on most things, and chief among them is his view on women working outside of the home once they are married and have children. As a single mother to a medically fragile child, Regan has worked since her divorce shortly before her daughter’s birth. When Regan starts to receive threats, has her room broken into, and even is physically harmed due to her resistance to the meeting, Pavlo steps in to help her. Pavlo’s day job is working with some of his fellow former Navy SEALs doing private security and investigations. With this book, nothing is quite what you think it is, even when you think you’ve figured it all out, there is still a twist to keep you guessing.

This is the perfect easy-to-read Christmas romance book. The story is easy to follow as you learn about Anne and her family values, the previous ties to Andy and what he is willing to do to get close to her. There is everything from family loyalty to forgiveness and setting aside personal feelings to see your loved ones be happy.
A quick and easy read with a sweet ending. This clean romance book will bring a smile to your face.
I definitely recommend reading this sweet book. It is part of a series but was easy to read as a standalone as well.

This book was a great read. We got to see both sides of the coin so to speak. In the first part we have the relationship of Jay and Sasha. Jay is head of security for s billionaire and Sasha is a ballet dancer. Even though he looks tough and had the tough guy demeanor, he has a soft spot for Sasha. She as a character has a hard time deciphering it, but we as readers can see it clear as day. She gets herself into a pickle and gets on the wrong side of the Mafia. That brings out Jay’s protective side and there is nothing that he wouldn’t do to protect the woman he loves. In the second part we have Matt and Marenah. Matt is undercover and has been captured by the Chicago Mafia. He and Marenah meet when she is also captured. Her grandfather belonged to the Russian Mafia and she landed in some hot water when she went looking for answers. Due to how they treat women being held, Matt makes it his mission to protect her. But she has secrets that could mean the end for her and whoever she is cohoots with. When they make an escape it seems they are free, but that is just not the case for Marenah. Now she has two targets on her back and has to figure out how to stay alive. This was a good book and I didn’t want to put it down! I like how different authors approach writing about Mafia families. They are all very similar but each one has their own take on what goes on behind the scenes. I can’t wait to read book two of this series.

Jade and Naseer were a lot of like but very different. Jade had recently moved to Rhanaz with her aunt and uncle when she became orphaned. Prince Naseer had recently been in a motorcycle accident which left him bedridden and seemed to turn his thought darker than they already were. When Jade ended up in his home she came across him while looking for the bathroom. He hadn’t been letting anyone in to visit him, not even his best friends, but something about Jade made him ask her to sit with him. She was able to pull him out of the darkness he was being sucked into and their bond started to become stronger, their friendship grew, and their attraction to one another certainly became romantic. He being of royal blood and she being a commoner, his father has issues with their blossoming relationship. Even though he could see with his very own eyes that Jade was doi g Naseer good, he was plotting a way to get rid of her for good. Although they fought like any normal couple, maybe a bit more due to the age difference, they were determined to be together. I did enjoy this book and if you pick it up I hope you do as well. I did find it slow going at first but once the story picked up and started flowing it was hard to put down. I look forward to seeing what kind of growth the characters have and how their relationship progresses in book two.

A Christmas Amish Courtship (Amish Courtship Series) by Jennifer Spredemann – Review by La Toya Lewis

A Christmas Amish Courtship (Amish Courtship #3)A Christmas Amish Courtship by Jennifer Spredemann
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Christmas Amish Courtship is the third book in the Amish Courtship series by Jennifer Spredemann. This story is a second-chance romance that tells the story of Anne Eichner and Andy Stoltzfus. Anne and Andy have both had their hearts broken. Andy decides to take a chance and starts to write to Anne as her secret admirer. This was such a sweet and clean romance. I love Amish romance and this book was a welcome addition to my collection. I loved the interaction through letters and was so excited/nervous for Anne to find out who her admirer was. This book had such good character building and kept you interested in the romance of Anne and Andy. I was invested in them. This book is one for those who love a sweet, clean romance.

A Christmas Amish Courtship (Amish Courtship Series) by Jennifer Spredemann – Review by Devon Pulliam

A Christmas Amish Courtship (Amish Courtship #3)A Christmas Amish Courtship by Jennifer Spredemann
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I absolutely fell in love with Anne. She was given a big responsibility at a young age. Although she had been courting someone for many years she ended up with a broken heart.

Because her sister broke Andy’s heart around the same time Anne’s heart got broken. This opened a door for them down the road. Andy wants to secretly sweep Anne off her feet. Will her sister and his cousin be okay with the two of them ending up together?

Andy is truly a romantic and I love how their love story played out. Such a short, sweet story that will make you believe in love again!
