Fear Inc: Volume 3 by Melinda Valentine – Review by Jessica Stone

So if you cannot tell by the title this is book number 3 in an ongoing motorcycle MC romance series. It’s the first novel I’ve read from this author but I do believe now I will be going back to read the first two, but I don’t personally feel like you have to read the first two books to enjoy this one. There are characters brought in from previous books who spark intrigue but nothing to confusing.

Krysta is young and dumb and in love with her older brothers best friend, recipe for disaster right? They try and try but as all good things, somethings got to give, thus a steamy relationship begins between Krysta and Kasper. But as the going get tough, the tough(Kasper) get gong, when Krysta unexpectedly gets pregnant, young dumb and in love, Kasper drops her like a sack of potatoes, breaking not only her heart but her trust.

Fast forward 6 years in the future, Krystas finally moved on, though never able to forgive or forget her heated past with Kasper she’s engaged and … happy….
As life progress and Kasper has grown he’s finally ready to be the man for Krysta that he couldn’t be all those years ago, which is great for him, but Krysta is not so easy to forgive the hurt she suffered from him. Will she ever be able to? Can they have a relationship or will life, her brother and the MC come between what always been simmering between them.

I feel like this book focuses a lot on Krysta and jaspers relation ship but there is a little action/drama between them and a rival family who have cause issues in the past that throws a little fun twist in there. I love the macho, I won’t let anyone hurt you, protector vibes.

I think that the chemistry between the characters was fantastic, Krysta is a wonderful intelligence, strong willed FMC with a head on her shoulders and the brains to not only know she deserves better but demand it.
Kasper… started off as kind of a dingus in my book, he really dropped the ball with his whole, I’m not meant to be a dad, can’t own up to his choices/consequences thing and when he first started to “pursue”, admit feelings for Krysta again I was not in his corner, but as the story progressed, he redeemed himself and I now approve.

Wonderful read, it’s steamy, fun, playful, heavy at times, has a side of action, there’s more than a few gasp worthy moments, 100% worth a quick read. This author knows what she’s doing, 10/10 would recommend this series if you’re new to MC romance type books, this will suck you in!

I found this a quick and interesting read. All Princess Mora wants is a normal life. She gets an opportunity and takes it. It makes for a fun adventure and lets her help put things toward being right. I found the the characters to be well-written and they fit into the story line just right (even the tourist, Jake). The best part is the name of the bounty hunter (didn’t see that coming.). It’s an entertaining fantasy that ends with a cliff hanger. I hope there’s another one coming, I’ll be eagerly awaiting it.

Throwing the Curve (Playing for Keeps Book 2) by Lauren Fraser – Review by Beverly Finnie

Throwing the CurveThrowing the Curve by Lauren Fraser
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love baseball! And I do thoroughly enjoy sports romances. Of course this one is nothing short of drama as well. Throwing the Curve was enjoyable and entertaining. Of course the title didn’t make sense to me till the end, but it’s not my place to explain why. Read it you will understand. Trust me it’s worth the read. Book 2 in the Playing for Keeps Series and though it’s part of a series it’s very much a standalone in its own right. The author pulls you in to the point you don’t want to stop. And when you do stop it’s over, and all you want is more!
Peyton ends up in an unfortunate situation, as the other woman, who is bailed out by none other than star pitcher Ryan Graves. Now though I mention he’s a pitcher doesn’t auto connect him to the title, because he’s known for his 100+ mph fastball(so my point again read it, you will understand.) Anyway these two make assumptions about one another that are further from the truth. But was starting their relationship under dislike what brought them together? Do a mistress and a broken man fit together? Let’s not make judgments, because the way this book is written is how it keeps on interesting. Yeah they both have a crappy back story, but how they move forward and persevere is what keeps you reading. It’s what pushes anyone forward in life as it does the characters in the story. Are there speed bumps along the way? Absolutely! But what’s more entertaining than a little drama?
I like everything about this book, and though it’s book 2 it’s the first book I read in this series. So while you read this, I’m going to go find book 1 to read!

Finding Starlight (Quimby Grove Book 1) by Shannon Nikole – Review by Heidi Sturgess

Finding Starlight (Quimby Grove #1)Finding Starlight by Shannon Nikole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You know that feeling when you open a book and you just get lost !? When retelling the story you talk a mile a minute so you can say as much as you can !? You get so involved that you want to tell anyone who will listen about it !? When you tell people about it they want to know how you know these people because you’re so involved !? Well this is Finding Starlight ❣️📕

I just loved the cover ! I love that there was a bookstore involved and the characters become friends and family 🥰📕

Ellawyn ( what a beautiful name) is on the run from her abusive boyfriend and leaves everyone and everything behind and starts her healing in the quaint town of Quimby Grove .

She discovers Finding Starlight , a bookstore owned by Benji ,who is such a sweetheart and it serves the most delectable treats . Ellawyn is there everyday from open to close and always on the same spot , Benji leaves her to paint and heal . It’s all her fault I started craving grilled cheese sandwiches and vanilla lattes 🤷‍♀️😂

Benji receives life altering news and his grandson Beckett comes home and when he shares the news I just have a meltdown and my heart breaks into a million pieces but this little family draws close and face it head on but a man obsessed with Ellawyn intervenes in an evil and unkind way and I will not give his name as he doesn’t deserve any acknowledgment and his ticket to the first pits of hell is booked !

While Ellawyn , Beckett , Benji and Max were my people there were other folks that warmed my heart like the kind nurse that helped our Benji and Becketts dear secrestary 🌸

Love is light and Beckett and Ellawyn overcome the darkness and these two people are deserving of every ounce of love and while I didn’t want their story to end I was happy to let them go to live their HEA because I want to see what happens in Max’s life , he’s a catch and the lady who wins his heart is one blessed lady 😍

The Golden Garza (Red Cage Book 4) by S. Ann Cole – Review by Amanda Haller-Doris

The Golden Garza (Red Cage, #4)The Golden Garza by S. Ann Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had not read the previous books in the series, as it stated this was a standalone story, but I will absolutely be reading the first 3 books immediately. This was a fantastic story about Tripp and Soleil in the Red Cage series. The author did an amazing job of setting up the history between the two characters, as well as their individual backgrounds. Being his little sister’s best friend, Soleil has always had a crush on Tripp, but he always made it clear that he found her annoying. The steamy slow burn between them, in the background of the danger and mystery, created a pager turner I couldn’t put down. The story had excellent pacing and each time you thought everything was resolved, the author threw another twist. I also adored the secondary characters and I can’t wait to see Tillie get her own story and discover the mystery X. I highly recommend this story and can’t wait to see what else the author has in store for this series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A fun YA romance that braces on the edge of historical fiction and entertainment. The characters are witty and have the quirks that make this an easy read. A tad slow to begin but slowly churns itself into a book worth reading. The character development itself is worth it, but the “opposites- attract” theme ties you in. The sense of duty and longing hit hard in this story, and overall a good read. It’s worth the initial push in the beginning!

The Golden Garza (Red Cage, #4)The Golden Garza by S. Ann Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 stars
The Golden Garza is the fourth book in the Red Cage series. After reading the other books it was a no brainer getting this one. I somehow started the series with the third book but went back and read the first two though and I loved them.
I love this series and the wonderful characters who are complex and fully realised. There is also a cast of secondary characters that you will like just as much.
This fantastic romance tale is intriguing, steamy, and has suspense, danger, drama, action and so much more to keep the pages turning.
This is Tripp and Sunny’s story and what a story it is. I was totally engaged throughout, and I loved the push pull between these two and the love hate, hate to love relationship with the sizzling chemistry. The two of them are passionate and stubborn.
When trouble comes calling can she rely on his help her out or is there deadly consequences?
I can’t wait to see what S Ann Cole does next.

This was a good read! This can be read as a standalone, although there were a lot of characters that I am assuming are from the previous books that make appearances and so that was a little confusing. But it had really no bearing on the storyline of this book so it can still be read as a standalone in my opinion. This was book was spicy, and the main characters had all the tension. I really enjoyed the story and the characters and would enjoy reading the the other books and continuing this series.

Vaughn's Xena (Dirty Rockhard Series, #1)Vaughn’s Xena by M.I. Rosegold
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is absolutely kinky and not for everyone. With that being said, oh my lanta be still my beating heart! This book was very well done bringing healthy kink out to light and some of the other sides to kink. It was written very well and there was absolute depth to the characters that were simply refreshing. Vaughn being single most of his life has set a very high bar, that at times seems hard for any woman to reach. But in comes his little sister’s best friend Xena who blows all of his expectations out of the water by having some secrets to unveil herself. This book was a delight to read and I can’t wait for the next one to come out!

This book is the fourth installment in the Red Cage Series. This is my first book that I’ve read of it and it definitely stands alone. I am now going to go back to the beginning of the series to read the rest. Not because I was lost and confused, but rather because I really loved the characters and I want to read more about them. The Garza family definitely has interesting dynamics and it kept me wanting to learn more about them. I also love that this is a best friend’s brother story. I have really found myself enjoying these stories right now. I truly enjoyed learning about Tripp and Soleil and loved the development of each of them. This is definitely a steamy book and I totally recommend it!

5 Stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I loveeeeeeeeeee all about Fear Inc! Book # 3 definitely did not disappointment and while I believe you can read this as a standalone…..I very very highly recommend reading this series in order to get to know each of the characters and their stories that lead up to this book.

Book 3 picks up where book 2 ends a bit…as this story you get to really know Kasper and Krysta.
Kasper and Krysta had this spark and love for each other years prior but due to circumstances….Kasper pushes Krysta away. Years later, they reunite, but under different reasons. Krysta wants stability, love and a family of her own. Kasper, being the playboy, ignites this flame and banter when it comes to Krysta.

Kasper and Krysta both need a second change and forgivness. Will that happen when Petrov Family is still lurking around…..or will it be to late?

I loved this story of Kasper and Krysta so much…the banter between them but also the love and spark that was truly undeniable. While they are complex with their past and secrets…the second chance is what they needed. I hope and pray for more from this series…..

This was such a wonderful story. I wanted to read this book in one sitting, but I also didn’t want it to end. Finding Starlight, brings Ellawyn Calloway finds herself in Quimby Grove, Pennsylvania starting a new life after leaving the old one behind.
Ellawyn finds solace at Starlight bookstore and café. She befriends Benji the store’s owner; who lets her work on her art. When Benji asks his grandson, Beckett to return to Quimby Grove to help out at Starlight, Ellawyn finds herself befriending Beckett. Through Benji, Beckett, Ellawyn lets down her guard, and opens up to friendship and love; but not everyone in Quimby Grove is honorable.
Have tissues ready, and enjoy Finding Starlight!

Another fantastic book from this author! I really love her writing style and have enjoyed many of her books and love how versatile she is when writing. This book was a brilliant read, I really enjoyed it. I love a good dark romance and this one definitely delivered on that front! I absolutely loved Lu and Nikolai! Lu was a wonderful, independent female lead but she also still had that small amount of vulnerability to make her need someone in her life. Nikolai was a strong male lead but again he had this side to him that wasn’t overpowering and he realised that he needed to let Lu have her independence but be there when she needed him. there was so much chemistry between the two of them and the author really made this come alive in the story!
Overall a fantastic dark romance and one that I would highly recommend!

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book, the story was engaging and I liked reading about the characters. I think I might be a little bit in love with Cutter – he was so dreamy! I loved how he was so fiercely protective of Zarifah. They had such a genuine connection and I loved reading their story. There was a good mix of romance, suspense and acti0on – it’s definitely one of those stories that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through.
This book is quite short being a novella but I don’t think the story was lacking in anyway – I would have loved a longer read just because I loved the characters so much and would happily have read more about them!
Overall a great read with lovely characters! A definite must read!

So this book was a little out of my comfort zone, it contained quite a few tropes I like or love and some I’m not so sure about but the synopsis sounded good so I thought I would give it a go and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I loved Stella! It so refreshing to read about plus size characters and she just oozed sexiness and confidence – I just honestly loved her so much. There was so much chemistry between all of the characters and it felt genuine. I think the author is very upfront about the kind of content in the story so it’s quite clearly this is intended for a mature audience only!
Overall this was a great read, full of hot and steamy encounters and wonderful characters! I wouldn’t hesitate to read another book by this author again in the future.

Which is a trope I absolutely love. The spice, steam…HOT. The descriptions and the way the author describes every detail is absolutely amazing. I felt so many feelings while reading this book and that’s what I love. If you can make me feel happy, sad, angry, on edge, turned on…that’s a great book in my opinion. The chemistry between Vaughn and Xena is amazing and I’m so glad I read this book! Huge page Turner for me.

When I started reading this book , I was expecting romance and a fairy tale ending, but humor is something which got me by surprise. 16 year old Rhia is to be married off to the youngest son of the king as her father , the Mayor has trouble managing the territory. The king threatens to wipe off the territory and an alliance is the only thing which can save him from the doom.
Rhia and the King’s youngest son Emerys have nothing in common. Rhia likes to get her hands dirty in everything , she is a hard worker with a tough mind where as Emerys is very polished and soft. Will just a “I do” save their marriage? Will they be able to save the land from the King’s clutches?
This summarizes the plot of the book. I loved the way it is written, there are a lot of funny expressions, which I really enjoyed. It is a royalty “rom-com”. Sit down, have a drink and enjoy the book.

The Golden Garza (Red Cage, #4)The Golden Garza by S. Ann Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After discovering that the life she remembers is a lie, Soleil decides to find the truth but it is not as easy as it seems. There are so many hidden players that don’t want her discovering her true origins. Deadly, powerful players that have the resources to prevent it from happening. But Soleil is quite stubborn and determined to find answers, any answers. When Soleil manages to convince Red Cage to help her, it opens an outside chamber to Pandora’s Box of secrets and death.

Tripp Garza has been secretly in love with his sister’s best friend since she was 19, at least he thought it was secretly. Apparently all of his brothers knew and have been betting on how long it would take Tripp to act on/admit his feelings. When Tripp accidently gets a taste of his forbidden fruit, he can’t stay away but doesn’t know how to be with her or how to be without her. Tripp has to battle a few of his own demons before he can slay Soleil’s.

Fan-damn-tastic!! The revelation of secrets and the pace of the book. The characters, the family, the love, the friendships are amazing. I luv that as you get updated on the characters from previous novels, they aren’t all sunshine and roses. Yes, they are still together but they are still facing challenges of everyday life together, like being together and making it work. I really hope the next book is Tillie’s because I have to know if Torin has known about her Mr. X all this time or when he found out. Looking forward to the next one!! Phenomenal series!!

This was my first Fear experience. I was just reading along in a typical romance story when WHAM!! Curve ball out of left field. All of sudden there was all this action and drama. Completely unexpected but amazing. Sure no one wants that to happen to their loved ones but it was necessary to make Kasper realize his love for Krysta and to make it real for Tank. This short, intense story was fantastic. The characters are real and relatable. The steam is steamy. The family is wonderful. I plan to keep Fear in my life and on my TBR list.

This is a well written story where a brother’s best friend cannot stand you but he is the only one that can save you. What happens in this story you will want to find out. The characters pulled me into the story from the start. They are connectable and made me feel as if I was right there in the story with them. They bring romance and suspense together for a hard to put down story. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as their chemistry throughout the story. This series just gets better and better. Tripp Garza is one hot hunk of man. Soleil has been hot for him ever since she was younger. Coming to LA for a mission to find the truth about her family, Soleil ends up on an adventure that has her life in danger and Red Cage trying to help. Oh, the suspense will have you holding your breath (didn’t even realize I was). You’ll feel all the emotions. Old favorites will make appearances throughout the story. The storyline runs smooth, even with all the drama, adventure, and plot twists. Romance will abound. These two have chemistry. They just need to admit it, will they? A wonderful read that I would give more than 5 stars if I were allowed to. An early winner for this year.

My Pearl Heart is a fabulous stand alone novel with a STRONG female lead by the name of Jasmine. Jasmine is determined to keep herself busy and prove that she is everything, can do everything, be everything, That is until the next thing to royalty, James, goes and ruins everything. That’s ok though, Jasmine is forging on ahead. After shoving James aside, and rightfully into his place she keeps on trucking, or does she?
I adored this book. It was short and very sweet. Less than 150 pages. The perfect romance book to read around the holidays and to cozy up to around the fire. The characters were well built, chapters were the perfect length and the story was robust. Lovers of Holiday and Contemporary Romance will fall in love with this book.

The Golden Garza (Red Cage Book 4) by S. Ann Cole
Genre – Romantic Suspense
Page Count – 418
Cover Designer – S. Ann Cole

He’s my best friend’s brother…

Tripp Garza is the man of my dreams.

Too bad he can’t stand my guts. With good reason—I’m no saint.

Over the years, I’ve stayed out of his way and accepted his disdain as penance for my sins.

But when my life as I know it is flipped on its head and I’m in desperate need of help, he’s the one who’s willing to give it.

He barely tolerates me, still he’s willing to swallow fire for me. Walk the jagged edge of death for me.

Tripp Garza was the man of my dreams.

Now, he’s my beautiful nightmare.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

S. Ann Cole is an exaggerator, a laugher, sometimes overly chatty, sometimes overly shy. She’s afraid of cats, dogs, snakes—heck, she’s only tolerable to gold fishes in a tank.

She hates fireworks, schmaltz and arrogance.

She loves carbs, full moons and humility.

She lives nowhere and everywhere.

Jokey people are her favorite people to be around, as laughter is the way to her heart.

When Ann’s not abusing her computer keyboard, you can find her nosing a novel, watching anything on television that makes her laugh until she breaks into hiccups (loves Disney, TBS, and Impractical Jokers!) studying the Bible, or sipping red wine.

My Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats – Review by Whisper Hymer

My Pearl HeartMy Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My Pearl Heart is a fiery quick-read romance by J.N. Sheats. Jasmine and James share a passionate kiss before it’s revealed that James is marrying Jasmines best friend and business partner Cadence. What follows is a story of passion and heartache. The book is vibrant with characters that are well-written and a plot that sucks you in. I literally couldn’t put it down! I’m definitely adding this author to my watch list.
