The Better Man by Laurie Lewis is the second book in the A Silver Buckle Romance Series. When Laramee Stone’s family is in danger of losing their family’s ranch, she returns home. While there she meets Jamie Cannon. Laramee and Jamie have a rough start but grow closer as time passes. Laramee and Jamie find themselves falling for each other but an ex-fiance comes back around. I enjoyed this book. Jamie and Laramee’s relationship is so healing, wholesome, and sweet. These characters are wonderful together. They really make you believe in a second chance at love. There is so much fun dialogue. I found myself drawn into this world. It was a wonderful escape.

The Winemakers is a box set of 3 amazing books- While they could stand alone with enough backstory to explain the previous book, it reall would be better read in order. All 3 take place in Portugal.
The True Purpose of Vines follows a widowed winemaker (Julia) and a foreign Englishman (Griffin) who are thrown together, and cannot keep apart no matter how much they both feel they should. Even though it has a ‘hero saves the day’ theme at the end, Julie is independent and stubborn (both are, really) and I loved reading about her story. Happy endings and great historical tales weaved throughout.
A Taste of Light follows the ruthless Count Almoster, who we met in the first book. Though he played the role of the villain there, this book sheds more light on his tragic upbringing and history that lead to the jaded and wounded man he is today. Anne, Griffin’s sister is the heroine in this one, though they both end up saving each other. More happy endings.
The Truth About Myths surprised me. I really thought the 3rd would be about Almoster’s brother or cousin from the previous book; however, this tale follows Princess Isabel and notorious rake Count Henrique who are VERY reluctantly forced into a trip to Spain together. Of the 3, this one was my favorite. Political intrigue and scandal, of course a hefty amount of hesitant romance that leads both to find each other while also finding themselves and who they really are as individuals. The mystery and suspense in this book was, in my opinion, a lot more intense than the other two.
Overall, great stories! Amazing world building and historical accuracies, truly lovable and hatable characters, steamy romance but not to the point that it takes over the book and becomes the theme. Very well written, page turner and neatly wraps up the ending without leaving anything missing. I really can’t wait to see if there are more from this author and hope that Cris finds a happy ending as well!

This is the first book in the Elemental Passions series. And I have to say I loved it. What I found very unique is the fact that so many authors have written parts of the story and have had input into it but it reads and flows really well. All the different inputs have created a really unique and captivating book that is full of action, adventure, Fae, danger and fated mates. This is a steamy paranormal romance. I love the main characters of Aeris and Callum. Even though they are from different worlds they work so well together.
Aeris is a Fae. All her life she has been told to stay away from humans, that humans can’t know about Fae and their world. So she has visited humans under the cover of Glamour. She loves seeing their world even if they can’t see her. However that all changes when she bumps into Callum and she realises he can see her when no one else can. Detective Callum has seen loads of strange things in his line of work but when a beautiful woman stumbled into his life with a story about Fae’s and other paranormal beings that exist in fairy tales, can he even believe her?
What follows is a story of two people who are fated mates and they struggles being from opposite sides. Could their attraction towards each other even become more? How is it possible that Callum can see her when other humans can’t? And what danger has Aeris put the rest of her community in by revealing what she is and the existence of Fae?

Drag Me Down is Book Four in the Full Throttle Cyborgs series. It is a cyborg sci-fi romance with danger, drama, passion, chemistry, action, suspense, and cyborgs. Dakota, or Drag as he is known, is out for revenge after being betrayed and having his heart broken. Bridget is used to getting what she wants and will stop nothing to come out on top. She has been ruthlessly setting her sight on trying to take over Drags racers, his gang and his town but Drag has stopped her at every turn. Now, Bridget is determined to get out from underneath the thumb of her gang sponsor and Drag and Bridget finds that they must join forces. Bridget thinks that she can fool him again, but Drag will not be fooled by her again. What neither expected was for the underlying chemistry and the sexual tension between them being off the charts. The Better Man by Laurie L.C Lewis 5 stars After 5 years Laramee Stone returns home because her parents are looking into selling the Ranch. Laramee ran into Jamie Cannon along the way, he is the realtor that was asked to come check out the homestead. Laramee does not want to sell but she is not sure what it really is that she wants to do with it. Both have a past that has a sad tale and both need to learn to trust. After making a bet that Jamie couldn’t last a week as a hand and both working together to make necessary repairs to the land it seems they both are developing feelings. There seems to be a few things in the mix that’s holding them back. Sutton, an ex-fiancé of Laramee and the area sheriff is still in love with her and wants to rekindle what was lost, then there is the fact of both Laramee and Jamie’s tragic past, along with the sale of the ranch. Loved the book and gave it 5 stars as Laurie L.C Lewis told a charming story of two people who have family that loves them and needing to heal and be loved. This is book 2 of the Silver Buckle and I am looking forward to reading the 1st one soon.

That is until she encounters Callum, a human detective who can see her. There is an immediate attraction between the two that pulls them back to each other. How can Callum see Aeris when humans are not supposed to see past their glamours?
I found this book to be interesting. It’s not like other fantasy books involving fae that I have read. I kept reading just wanting to know what was going to happen next. It’s a great story filled with mystery, attraction, forbidden love, and intrigue. I look forward to a continuation of the series.

I can most definitely relate to Laramee’s ailing family situation. I could also relate to Jamie in getting others to believe in you after they gave up on you. From the summary, you’d think they belong to and with one another, right? Not when Sutton comes out of nowhere to get Jamie back after Laramee and he had become emotionally tied.. But it’s all in Jamie’s hands and what his heart desires. Honestly, yes: I was and am pushimg for Laramee to win this one but then again, you never know what the author cooked up and I won’t spoil it for you. I loved this book as it was romantic, for me an escape from reality (at least for a few days) but it was steamy in a sensual way outside of sexual, easy to read with wonderful characters to match leaving me fully entertained.

Laramee is on her way back home after a frantic call from her mother, after leaving the ranch four years ago she is nervous about coming back and confronting her father, but she was not accepting the news when she arrived back. Lost in her world she strives to not let the only things she can slip from her fingers the ranch. When arriving she meets Jamie who’s business is real estate after being prickly initially they discover they have more in common than first thought.
Jamie is on his way to look at a ranch but first he was having some R and R in The Alpine a Ski resort but when he wonders into the reception area and sees his ex- fiancée getting ready to marry someone else all the air leaves his body, he rushes into the bakery onsite to get refreshments when he meets a lady and strikes up a conversation, unbeknown to him they will meet later and a lot less friendlier.
So when Jamie meets Laramee again at the Ranch things go decidedly a rye, Laramee wants him gone but he was instructed by her father so he is obliged to carry on with the job in hand but over the time of working together they see that they are so different after all.
This is a lovely story of family entanglements and expectations which are put on ourselves or others. The story weaves along and slow draws out the reasons that both of them have baggage and that they can just be friends rather than enemies in the long run that Jamie is only trying to help and somewhere along the way they become more.
With the secondary characters enhancing the story it is a lovely nice easy read, with characters who compliment each other and a clean story. I would love the read the next instalment in this series.

Ben “Bennett” Banks has lived to annoy Kaitlyn seen that day they meet ten years ago in the airport, she seemed okay with him then but once she knew who he was it has been daggers and teeth when ever they meet, but when he falls out with his agent just before a crucial extension of his contract no-one will touch him accept Kaitlyn. But can he keep his feelings for her under wraps as she has made it plain she hates him and is only doing this as a favour and to stick it to her old boss.
So, when something is released in the press at a critical time can Kaitlyn believe in Bennett or will she let him loose?
I love this calibration, the writing is brilliant and the characters are so real you wish they were your friends. This is the second book in this series but can easily be read as a stand alone novel but I recommend you read the first one as it is just as good.
Kaitlyn’s character is fiery and strong but as always you get to see the venerable side of her and that not everything is rosy in the garden. Ben’s character is lovely the rough alpha male on the ice but behind the scenes is a man who is misunderstood, caring and humble which makes these two characters just brilliant for each other.
The secondary characters as always are full of depth and life and just add to this wonderfully developed book, with you wanting to know the more about them in the next book. I hope Niko Drugov is our next mean hockey player to find love as it would be great for him and Chole to have some sparks in their future.
Can’t wait for the next instalment going forward.

It’s been a while since I have read a fantasy romance, and these talented writers reminded me of what I have been missing!!!
Aeris is a Fae who is fascinated by humans and the world outside the safety of her world. Faes aren’t supposed to mix with humans, but Aeris has never been one to follow the rules. One day while adventuring in the human world, a human sees through her glamor. Detective Callum LeBlanc is intrigued by her, and once he sees her, he can’t get her out of his mind. Aeris feels the same about him. Fate has brought these two together on a journey full of mystery and danger.
Both of the main characters were very likable. Both were strong characters independently but together they were unstoppable. The writing was very descriptive, and I could picture the Fae realm, Laric, clearly in my mind. I also loved the supernatural elements of New Orleans that were woven throughout the story. It’s hard to believe this book was written by ten different authors. It could have been disjointed and confusing, but it was seamless…which is a testament to the talent of each of the writers. I’m looking forward to reading the next installment.

Mood Swings & Hockey Flings is the second installment of Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart’s Hot Flash Hookups series. It follows Kaitlyn, hockey agent at the height of her career who, at the age of forty, is starting to think about starting a family, and Banks, hockey player who isn’t ready to retire at thirty-eight. I read a lot of hockey romances, but it was really refreshing seeing a woman of colour lead, and the leads being in their late thirties rather than early twenties. I think the authors handled the balance between having a career and starting a family really well, because I don’t think women should have to sacrifice one for the other. I also think they handled a woman nearing menopause really well, because women tend to feel old once they start thinking about menopause, but Kaitlyn is still confident and she still feels attractive, despite her mood swings or weight gain or fatigue. I did think, at the beginning, that Banks’ behaviour was immature for someone his age, but the more I read the more I changed my mind. My favourite character was Kaitlyn and my least favourite character was Ed. I recommend this book, mainly because it’s so refreshing to see an Asian female lead and a romance between two people in their late thirties. I also appreciate how the romance didn’t lead to anyone sacrificing any other important parts of their lives. ‘So much so that I might have been half in love with her by the time we said our goodbyes.’

This is book three in the Life is Hell Series by Naomi Valkyrie. This series just keeps getting better! We get to focus on Oren (a demon hunter newbie) and Teivel (a grumpy demon). Their attraction is clear to everyone. Oren brings out a softer side of Treivel. But can they make a relationship work? We meet a few new characters this time. Larkspur spends most of the time playing pranks on everyone and there is a baby that was dropped on Oren’s doorstep! You don’t have to read these books in order, but it doesn’t hurt to. That way you can learn about everyone involved. I definitely recommend this book.

I love all the hockey players. Psssst….these authors sound like they actually know hockey! Makes the story come alive!!

What a fantastic read! I went in blind reading this book and am so glad I did. The storytelling and the vivid description of the different places, especially Laric. Callum and Aeris are the main characters in this book, and this is where the 2 world collide. Callum is a detective and sees Aeris but soon realizes he is the only one who can see her. Aeris is a fairy. They are drawn together, and they zinged, meaning they are fated. There is a secret war happening, and they plus an army of otherworldly creatures united to defeat the bad guys. I am so glad I started reading this series, I have literally enjoyed every single one of these books so far and I really can’t wait to rea the rest. I didn’t know there was more to this series till I started looking. Each book gets better and better, and I just couldn’t put this one down like the first ones. I am a sticker for making sure all the books are read in order so this is no different, but you could probably get away with reading them by themselves. these books are paranormal romance books but there’s so much more involved. Teivel and Oren, one demon, one demon hunter, will have you on a whirl wind of a roller coaster with these two. Once again, we are back at Juniper Lake to help out Teivel ex but there’s attraction to his ex’s deputy. The fear of loving again, baggage being carried over, and the secret of being a demon hunter. What possible could go wrong? Or right? I honestly recommend this series and even thou I haven’t gotten o the rest I recommend the rest because if they are all this good.

The Better Man is Book 2 in the Silver Buckle Brides series and what an amazing read. While this book could be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the first book in the series as some characters do tie into this book as well. The emotions and turmoil of two people whom really come from a past with hard struggle..this story really took me on a roller coaster of emotion. Drama, secrets, jealousy and grief but also a second chance in many ways to be better. I LOVED this story of Laramee and Jamie.
Laramee has come home to Colorado to her family ranch as her father and mother decided to sell due to some health issues her father is having. Laramee has so much hurt and grief coming back as there is it reminds her of a past tragedy that is truly heartbreaking. Jamie is hired to help the Stone family sell the beloved ranch and make things better, but Jamie never expected to challenged at first by a fiery Laramee. As Jamie and Laramee work together on repairs to the ranch to make it better for selling, their walls come down around their hearts very slowly…..but there is also a past love that comes about the ranch…Sutton…whom has love Laramee forever. With pasts that have heavy baggage, decisions that need to be made, will Laramee be able to overcome grief as it burdens her shoulders and find the love that she deserves…who does she choose? When secrets come to light with honestly….Jamie falls for Laramee…but is he the better man for her?

I absolutely adore this book! This is the second installment in the Hot Flash Hookups series and my favorite so far. I loved Kaitlyn and Banks’s characters independently and together. Their banter, their stubbornness, and their chemistry…OMG their chemistry. Ray and Stewart had my hooked from the beginning and I couldn’t put this one down! They way they do a slow burn is phenomenal! And this book is a slow, slow burn in the best of ways. I love the other tropes as well: forced proximity, forbidden love (agent & player), he falls first (a personal fav), and many more. The character development is *chef’s kiss* as is the plot line. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next installment! I highly recommend grabbing this book…it’s a fantastic sports romance with just a bit of spice. A great pallet cleanser if you are looking for something a bit lighter in-between the darker readings 😉 Reviewed by @meggs1717

One book written by 10 authors!! What a fun way to write a series! First book I have ever read that was a 10 author collaboration. And it certainly didn’t disappoint!! Aeris is a Fae from the mystical realm of Laric. She has unique air abilities and uses glamour to walk around New Orleans. Not being aloud to leave her realm and being forbidden to be around humans doesn’t stop her one bit. One day while out in the world she bumps into Detective Callum, which would normally be fine. Written off as a stumble or someone else just miss stepping into him, but not this time! Callum can actually see Aeris! No human has ever been able to see past her glamour. None! This is bad. So, so bad. Fae-Human unions are forbidden and her secrets are also her realms’ livelihood. Callum has never seen anyone like Aeris. She’s captivating, mystical, and of course beautiful. His life is about to be turned upside down and he has no clue. A world of magic has been hidden in plain sight and he never knew. He certainly does now!! Will these two face what’s lerking around New Orleans? Fated love is fated for a reason right? Will destiny stand in their way? This is book one of the five book series and I can tell you right now that I can not wait to read the rest!! This one was so good!! It hooks you right in and keeps you on the edge of your seat to see what’s going to happen next! I loved the elemental side to the story and I’m excited to see more in the series.

This is the second book that I have read by this author and it is just as good as the previous one. I loved how this story was told ad the characters and everything about it. I connected with them from the moment I started reading and became so invested in them so quickly. The author created meaningful and impactful characters that I wanted to know more about. The storyline was just as good as the characters. I was drawn in from the start and could not wait to see how things would play out. It isn’t very often I feel the need to comment on a book cover but each book I have read by this author has the most gorgeous and captivating covers. These alone would have driven me to pick up the books. This book is fantastic, well written and one I would highly recommend.
I loved reading the first book in this series and this book is definitely just as good. I thought the characters brought this story to life and I loved the connection between them. The constant push and pull, their chemistry, it all made the book so much better to read. I thought the overall story was great as well. Sylvie Stewart is an author I always enjoy reading and this collaboration between authors is just as good. I think their writing styles work really well together and it made the book even more interesting to read. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this series.

This book was so incredible!! Not only does it keep you turning the page, but you absolutely get to know each and every person in this story. It is amazing that it is wrote by 10 authors. Well done to the authors for working to create a great book.

Hell in a Handbasket is Book Three in the Life is Hell series. Although this book can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the other books in this series because they are amazing. This book focuses on Teivel, a demon, and Oren, a demon hunter who are natural enemies. Teivel has returned to Juniper Lake, a place that he keeps getting drawn to for some unexplainable reason. When a hybrid baby is dropped off on Oren’s doorstep, the two must work together to protect him. Teivel was mentioned in previous books briefly, but this book goes more in depth about his character. We learn that there is more to him than originally meets the eye. Most would think that he is a world class jerk, but it turns out that there is more to him than that. There is a strong attraction between Teivel and Oren even though there is no reason how a demon and a demon hunter could possibly be in any sort of a relationship or fall in love for that matter. This was another wonderful book written by an extremely talented author. Her writing style is not only unique and creative but her characters are quirky and fun.

This is the 4th book in the Full Throttle Cyborg series. This is a sci-fi romance with a enemies to lovers story. It is also full of action, adventure, fast cars, lies, gangs, betrayal and revenge. I was immediately captivated by this authors world building skills. It was so easy to picture and imagine yourself in the places the author was describing.
Dakota ‘Drag’ Michelson has only truelly loved one woman in his life but when Bridget betrayed him and framed him for murder the only thing he felt for her was hate. Or so he thought. With a big championship race looming the last thing he needs is a distraction and Bridget is one big distraction.
Bridget has always gone after what she wants in life no matter what she has to do or who she hurts in the process. Now she wants to be free of the gang she finds herself and the only person that can help her is Drag. After she tried to sabatage the race and her spy was uncovered she knows the only thing left to do is join forces with Drag. But Drag won’t be fooled twice. He doesn’t trust Bridget at all. After she did last time how could he possible trust her. But as old feelings start to resurface is the need for revenge going to be the only driving force? With love and hate being so close how can you tell you’ve crossed the line from one to another?
This was a fast paced story full of twists and turns. I loved the duel prospective which really brings the characters to life and makes them feel more real.

You know after reading the first two I just had to run to read this one. The Life is Hell Series is getting so good! Just like the first ones this is a quick read but no less fantastic. So like MM romance isn’t my usual go to trope, but the way the author wrote this I couldn’t put it down. I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before but this author really knows how to write a paranormal book, really knows how to make the subject her own with her unique take. Teivel and Oren story was probably my second fave of the series of the series so far . Ohhhhh I can’t wait to see what characters Naomi Valkyrie writes about next. If you haven’t done so i highly recommend you go to the beginning of this series even if you don’t have to you’ll want too 🙂

Touched is an action, adventure, and forbidden romance all rolled into one story. Oh yeah, don’t forget the supernatural element. The author brings the reader into a world that’s complicated and mysterious. There’s the human world of New Orleans but the fantasy world of Laric. Introducing the reader to a slew of characters and different supernatural species to boot. Aeris has a sense for adventure and exploring. She’s a fae who is constantly crossing the wards into the human world. An aspect about herself she does plan to change until she “zings” with her kindred. What she never expected was she would find her kindred in the human world. Now she will do anything and everything to make sure he’s safe, including leaving her family. Will it be enough? Callum was going about his day as he normally would, till this beautiful woman ran into him he just can’t seem to let go. However he doesn’t realize talking to her makes him a crazy person to everyone outside of his conversation. Why? Because he’s the only one who can see her. And seeing her is exactly what happens. A deep connection he can’t explain. That is until he gets some sort of explanation. He finds out she’s a fae, finds out he’s not completely human but a Sylph, finds out there are Rougarou aka werewolves in the human world and they are out to drink his blood and kill him. Besides trying to run his everyday life as a detective that may very well be left to take the fall on a potentially botched operation. Not that his superiors know what really happened. Will they escape the Rougarou? Can he trust anyone he works with to tell them the truth about the Trahans? Will the elders ever accept a Fae/Sylph bonding? So many questions. So much going on. It can be confusing at first but if you can break down the different themes it gets interesting. It says book 1 so I look forward to future stories in this world.

Touched was a quick, entertaining read. It takes place in New Orleans, LA and, at first, is very reminiscent of the Wicked series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Which also takes place on New Orleans. I found LeBlanc and many of the supporting characters fun to read. Though this has multiple authors, it reads as though there was only one. I look forward to reading the next installment when it is released.
