I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out, but I instantly fell in love hard and fast! I love Ashali, she seems so meek and in need of saving at first but once put into a situation her fight comes out, and she is magnificent. Jase, he seemed a little obnoxious at first meeting, but I could tell how he was falling for Ashali, and watching their relationship blossom was so sweet. There were a couple of different surprises throughout the book, like who Ashali’s family is and where she comes from. I thought the story flowed so smoothly and really hope to see if Ashali and Jase will be continuing their journey together and being the superhero they are.

This is the 4th book in the series but the first book I have read by this author. I’m unsure whether the book is intended to be able to be read as a standalone but I have to admit that in the beginning I felt as though I had to have read the previous books to get understand the dynamics of many of the characters. This didn’t stop me from really enjoying this book though. I’ll just have to find time to read the 3 books that came before this one. In this book Fitz is working on the case of a serial killer who is killing gay men and making them look like suicide. This case comes a bit too close to home when his brother in law Andy becomes the target of the killer. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s full of drama, danger, intrigue as well as romance. I particularly loved Andy’s relationship with deaf daughter Stella as he tries to teach her about being different and accepting people for who they are. The author has an excellent skill for character writing. I was so engaged with the characters and could really relate to their story. Definitely recommend but would advise to read the others in the series first.

This book is an anthology that contains many stories by different authors. It isn’t my cup of tea usually. However, the fact that this was written specifically for the Ukraine and address the themes of survival and hope, I was able to give it a chance. You will find stories about persecution, loss, struggles. The endings of each show the positive outcomes. I could outline each story contained in this book, but will just choose a couple that I enjoyed. 1. Artem Dimitri and Elina (Saving His Own) – Artem left he Ukraine to study in America. Elina was not happy with the decision. When he returns, he is at the same hospital as her. It is a love story in the making! 2. (Happy Hour) – Mari is a middle school counselor just returned from a cancer diagnosis and treatment. The person hired, Mitch, to take over while she was gone, was hired to stay on as a second counselor. Mari finds Mitch very attractive. Is it appropriate that they act on their sparks? Will it cause issues or be happily ever after? 3. Sweet and refreshing story …I loved that the characters were a bit more older.
Mariah is a successful businesswoman trying to find the “perfect dates” for her clients while dealing with the aftermath of a divorce. She is strong and professional… I love this about her character. When she meets Detective John Monroe for the first time, she wants nothing to do with especially since her ex husband, Dan, is a detective too. As John peels back the layers to Mariah’s heart.. would she give John a chance?
Sweet, fun romance that was a great listen.

This is my first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed the book. The characters are amazing and you can relate to them. Andy is trying to get his life back in order after Stephen left him and their daughter alone. Leaving Andy devastated and trying to come to terms with Stephen leaving. Once Andy is back on his feet taking care of Stella and moving ahead with the help of Fitz and MJ, he is ready to move on. Stephen unexpectedly contacts him and asks to meet. Andy agrees, if only to have his say, something he never had the chance to do before. Andy finally feels the confidence to move on. Stella is his focus now, even though Stephen will always have a place in his heart, he finds his closure. However, Stephen’s world, is not what he has expected and seeing Andy only confirms what he’s been afraid to admit all along—he’s made a huge mistake. Now Stephen has to work hard to win Andy back, so they can have the life they were supposed to have. While Andy and Stephen are trying to figure things out a serial killer, who is targeting gay men, has other plans for them both.

I Loved You Yesterday (Trading Heartbeats Trilogy Book 1) by Julie Navickas. This is such a good romance. Its the story of Mavis who walked away from everyone in her life and only left a note . Josh Templeton is getting a divorce from the woman he thought he loved. She believes and tells him that he never really got over Mavis. When he finds the letter Mavis left him years ago the past comes crashing down around Mavis. She left because she was pregnant with Josh’s twin brother Austin’s baby. Mavis still loves Josh but knows that the huge mistake she made in sleeping with his twin has ruined that forever. Austin knows that Mavis had his baby and he wants to make right the situation. Who will Mavis choose? Will she choose Josh who she loves or Austin who she doesn’t want to hurt? This is a really good second chance love story!
I have read all the book in this series and I don’t know which one I like best and cant believe it’s the last book in the series. The characters are strong they have to be in their world. I love the little quirks and the way they play off each other makes them somewhat real. This book had it all action, tension, betrayal, romance. But no one in the Mafia is innocent. The New York Mafia princess Mia Tucci is an enemy, when she comes to barters information that could take down her family’s operation, Nico is too intrigued to turn her away. And as they get to know one another, his defenses fracture, tempting him to give her his trust and helping he with cost him. The only hope he has at saving her is make her his in every-way from her family.

Thoroughly enjoyable Ashali and The Blue Horseman is a brilliant adventure story with a touch of romance. An intriguing sci-fi based story it grips you from the start. The writing is easy to read and world-building very well done. The story is layered with several storylines and is told from both Ashali and Jase’s POV which makes for a deeper connection. With strong characters, vigilantes, aliens, superheroes and secrets this is a highly recommend.

A Hawaiian Romance This boxset was a collection of well-written romances set in the late 60s that have some overlap.
Try Easy This is Keoni and Lou’s story. A girl’s trip to Hawaii ends up to be more than Lou bargained for. Keoni holds onto past hurts and needs to heal before he can move on. This is slow burn but the writing kept me interested. I loved the setting and the Hawaii of old.
Try Me This is Pearl and Declan’s story. I really enjoyed their ‘fake’ relationship and the way they interacted. Their chemistry was hot. The setting is spot on again and the author interweaves the history seamlessly. The events in this book occur at the same time as book 1 and the author pulled that off brilliantly.
Try Right This is Claudia and Henry’s story. We have come across these characters in the previous books. Claudia is Keoni’s first love and she also caused some issues in book 2. Henry is Keoni and Bones’ friend and where Penny and Lou stayed in book 1. He is a strong character and true to his word. Claudia is also strong and this makes for some very intense moments. Again the setting is brilliant and the imagery amazing.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this boxset and totally recommend.

This story is unique and engaging with an interesting plot. It is well written, and the world building is done well with characters that are compelling.
There are lots of twists and turns as we adventure along with Ashali, evil mercenaries, and blood-thirsty aliens. With dark secrets to uncover, kidnappings to get out of, villains to take down along with a budding romance Jordan certainly keeps us on our toes.
Ashali finds herself in a situation she could never have dreamed of. She is not a wilting flower and she will not stand by and let the villains win. Instead of a white knight riding in to save the day, Ashali has someone known as the Blue Horseman shows up. She soon finds her heart is on the line.

Wow, Book 4 and I cannot get enough of this series…..definitely a roller coaster of emotions that I had to really hold on to and was at the edge of my seat not wanting to be disturbed while I was totally engrossed in each page.
My heart broke for Andy when Stephen left him, especially after wanting to adopt a child and Stephen wanted Andy all to himself. When Stella came into Andy’s life…there is so much love between Andy and Stella..especially after the tragic events with Stella’s mother, Effy. When Stephen starts to second guess his decision on leaving Andy the only thing he wants is to reconnect. Lurking is a serial killer whom targets gay men…and Stephen and Andy are on that list. Will Fitz and his crew be able to save Stephen and Andy from this killer before it is to late?
This story gave me a lot of different feelings….the hurt that Stephen did on Andy….betrayal, suspense and just so many emotions.

This was a great 5 star read. I really enjoyed this read, Mavis and Josh are high school sweethearts, until a secret causes Mavis to flee town. She ends up confiding in Austin, Josh’s brother before leaving. It’s 10 years later and Josh is finalizing his divorce, when something resurfaces and makes him think about Mavis again. What made her leave him? What would happen if he found her now?
When Mavis gets a text from Austin it sends her spiraling. Josh wants her back but that’s not her only problem. What will happen when he learns the truth? Will he still want her back?
Overall this was a great read. I really liked all of the characters. We get several POV’s with past and present to help us understand past occurrences. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. This is my first read from this author and I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today.
I simply loved reading this book, it had action, those super hero moments where your cheering from your seat as you read, girl power moments, tender moments, and anything else you would want in a super hero book! The author did an amazing job creating this story and bringing it to life!
I love a good super hero book. A hero fighting against those who mean wrong This one was off the wall amazing! Loved the character personality of Ashali and how she started off in the book, and whom she was by the completion of it. It was a fun read, full of action and moments where I laughed and smiled! Chase was a great “side kick” character as well! I really enjoyed how the story went and the development of the plot. The author impressed me with their creativity and how they brought the story to life! Loved it!
This was a very entertaining read that intrigued me all the way through! I did not want to stop reading, I constantly needed to know what would happen next! The author is a must read, hands down and really knew how to pull the reader in! A high recommendation for a book from myself, a must read for sure!

Continuing to read this series…..I am totally invested…It Will Always Be Us is book 3 in this series and I highly recommend reading this series in order….you wont regret it :).

I thought this was an entertaining and amusing story, with some brilliant characters to back it up. When listening to this book I really connected with the story. I tend to find that books with older female characters are poorly done and I find it hard to connect with them but this author has done an amazing job at making the character so relatable. She is funny, strong, real and I really enjoyed reading about her. She has so much going on and yet she never seems to let it get her down for long. This is a new author to me and I think this was a great book to start with. It is easy to read and a well written story. I will definitely be checking out more from this author in the future.

I found this to be one of those books that surprised me with how good it was. Although the story is fantastic for me this book is all about the characters. They have a strength to standout as individual characters, capturing my interest in them on their own. Combined, together as a duo, they are just the perfect pairing. I thought the author did great at weaving a story full of adventure and sci-fi, keeping it exciting and fast paced. I easily read this book as I was pulled in right from the start. This is a great story that I would definitely recommend.

Silent Innocence is the 2nd book in the series and I can say this story was quick a thriller for me, sitting at the edge of my seat. I recommend reading this series in order as characters in the 1st book are in book 2 as well.
Detective Fitz Rodriguez is to be on “vacation time” to spend quality time with his beautiful wife when Fitz gets a call just to review a case as a second pair of eyes. Little did Fitz know that the case would lead to a definite cat and mouse game of murder, suspense, lies and in the middle of this chase innocent mother and her six year old child. Definitely nothing is what is seems for sure in this story. Will Fitz be able to solve this case before time runs out?
This continuation of this series is fantastic. Told in multiple points of view, it is so easy to follow and the story just flows. I am totally blown away and love the storytelling of this author. This story hit a few nerves with me and broke my heart at places for sure…but what a great story…..

Wow!! This is my first book by this author that I have read and I am totally hooked. Murder, intrigue, suspense all wrapped in a great story.

But, alas, she is kidnapped. This is where the rom com drama begins. I loved this story. The humor, mystery, and romance make for a story that will have you chuckling. My family though I had lost it due to my laughing while I was reading. The characters are well-written. If all superhero’s could be that hot, I’d be in trouble more often. The plot is well-developed. A quick read that you’ll enjoy.

This is a truly classic book series. First, let me say that I LOVE the fact that the author includes cultural facts about Hawaii and its people. The stories are romances that feel absolutely classic. They all deal with a factor of guilt over their friend, Eddie’s surfing death. The emotions that are felt in this story can be powerful. Keoni, Declan, and Claudia are characters that many can relate to as well as their partners. I did find it fascinating to read romance stories based in the 1960’s as that’s not usually a common time chosen. It was interesting to read the descriptions of everything. I found the stories enthralling, interesting and couldn’t put them down until I finished the last one. I hope the author will do more. A fantastic read that I believe many romance readers will enjoy.

Andy is struggling with losing the love of his life but gaining a child he would do anything for, but when life gets complicated, can Andy truly find the balance he requires to feel normal again.
Stephen has love Andy from the beginning even when they received the devastating news of his diagnoses but Stephen feels that adopting a child could leave them lost and pressure which he feel Andy does not need, so making the hard decision to walk away and leave the family unit is devastating but when a threat is found, can Stephen really walk away from the man he loves?
This as all of them can be read as a stand alone book but it would be advisable to read the first and third book to have some understanding regarding the main characters in this book. Andy is a lovely character who is feeling lost and slowly feeling he is becoming his diagnose, due to Parkinson he is being sheltered and wrapped in cotton wool which is feeding the demise of his self esteem, so when he decides to adopt Stella the dynamic in the relationship between his husband changes and evitable ends in separation, they only problem is neither is convinced.
The story also gets Spicer when Fitz is brought in to try and find a serial killer who is killing gay men, so when his brother is in the cross hair it is a race against time to try and find the killer before anyone else is hurt.
This story is full of the usual thrill of the chase which is now associated with a Fitz book and this does not disappoint. I always love the way that the author writes in a multi point of venue and you get to see in the minds of all the characters and piece together the mystery and twists. I have to say this was my favourite book so far as you got to delve in the relationship of Andy and Stephen who all along has seemed so loving and caring but as all relationships has had there struggles. I hope this series continues and if so can’t wait to read the next thrilling instalment.

Fitz and MJ are on holiday chilling before they welcome their first child but work is never far behind, so when his boss calls him to have a look through a case he can not resist, but although it is only a quick look he ends up being embroiled in the case when he meets the 5 year old he can’t leave alone.
She is lost and alone, but her mom should have been there but when she is a weird environment, she sees him who is kind and I trust he will find her mother.
This story is a stand alone and is a brilliant story from the first chapter. The characters as in the first one are brilliantly and well developed and really enhance the book and drive the story along. I loved the character of Fitz in the first story and he does not disappoint in this book. He is dedicated to finding the mystery and reuniting the mother with her daughter, although the story delves into the darker side of life Fitz tries to strive to help.
You also get to see the relationship between him and MJ grow from strength to strength with the pressures of work and relationships.
I can’t wait to read the next book to see where there relationship goes and what Fitz will be involved in in the future.

This is the third book in this wonderful series and this one does not disappoint. You can read this book as a stand alone but unlike the second book their are extra characters which appeared in the first book which you may like to have some context with so reading the first book may be beneficial to you.
I loved the twists and turns of this book and seeing the crew together with friends and family was a brilliant addition to drive the story along with interactions and the sub dramas which happen along the way. The character of Fitz is a great multi level character that offers and drive within the story which you are happy to go along with and see the drama through his eye. You also have the character of MJ who is always there in the background grounding all the main characters and is also a complex character herself.
This story is complex and is well written to have you charging through to help Fitz find the mystery to help Bailey discover the truth and it is a great story.
I can’t wait to delve back again into the world of Fitz and MJ in the next book in this series.

Mark is honing his skills but when she comes into his life there is no one else who can quench the desire within him, but she is protected so he has to be skilful try and make her his.
This was the first book I had read by this author and it was brilliantly written with just the right twists and turns to keep you engaged in the book from the first word to the last. I loved the character of Fitz he was flawed and had depth to hold your interest. I only thing I had an issue with is I felt the end of the story was a bit rushed, this did not distracted from the story but for me just a little of a let down.
I loved the different point of views and looking into their little bit of the world and how each mind worked and perceive what was happening in the others.
This is a brilliant book and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The AI narration took a minute to get used to, but it didn’t take long to get lost in the story and forget about it.
Mariah is what all women my age need to be like if they find themselves in a similar situation with an ex-husband or ex-wife. So often we are expected to just deal with it, and most do at least for a while. Then something happens and she decides she is going to fight every step of the way.
Mariah deserves all of the happiness and success she gets.

This story is absolutely amazing. Years ago, Mavis walked away from everyone she loved and possibly the love of her life leaving only a simple note. Now the past is coming crashing down around her and she doesn’t know what to decide. Josh Templeton is completing a divorce from the woman he thought he loved. However, her parting words to him implied that he was never in love with her because he was still in love with another. Austin, Josh’s twin brother sees what is about to happen and the only way to prevent it is to face it heads on. Reeling from his divorce, Josh finds the letter that was left to him by his high school love. In his mind, he is still in love with her and must find her. What he doesn’t know is that when she left she was pregnant and in love with his twin brother. As Josh sets out to find Mavis, she is nowhere near prepared for what is ahead. Who does she love is it Josh Templeton or is it his brother Austin? Mavis had always hoped that the past would stay in the past, but the past can’t stay secret forever. This book was sooooo good! I didn’t want to put it down as I was reading about Josh, Mavis, and Austin. I didn’t know what was going to happen but I also found myself unsure of what I hoped would happen. This was well written with very well developed characters!

This is a heartwarming and at times heartbreaking contemporary romance, with a love triangle and a second chance at love theme. Mavis Benson made a huge mistake when she had sex with her high school sweetheart’s twin brother, but she hadn’t expected to fall in love with him. Mavis definitely didn’t expect to then find herself with an unplanned pregnancy at seventeen either, but to save her boyfriend, Josh from the fallout she left town. All Josh Templeton received was a letter of apology, from Mavis, before she disappeared, however, she did confide her secret to Josh’s brother, Austin. When Austin comes back into her life years later, she can’t help but be confronted by her past. Not only does Josh want Mavis back, but so does Austin, and for Mavis she just feels caught between the two men. One of whom she ended up with a broken heart over and the other, who helped her pick up the pieces. One thing is certain though, and that, is that secrets always have a way of coming out. This was a page turner of a read, with some wonderfully detailed characters, and I felt completely immersed in their world and engaged with them. I felt for both Mavis, and Josh and Austin, and wanted them all to have a HEA. I’m looking forward to book two in this trilogy, and definitely recommend reading this first instalment.

I Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy by Julie Navickas I can’t say for sure how I really felt about this book but not in a bad way. It was great, I loved the concept. I can’t even fathom being in love with a twin let alone having a relationship with both! I had a hard time putting this down. Finished it quickly because I needed to know what happened. This definitely felt very realistic, or what I would envision reconnecting with someone you love(d) that deeply. Mavis left Josh ten years ago. She had a secret and didn’t want to ruin his dream but ended up ruining him anyway. It really bothered me that she left everyone like that. I do get it though. I think what bothered me was the fact that after she is reunited things seemed to move almost too fast. But I wouldn’t know how I’d feel if it were me. I NEED Austin’s book though. I truly feel like he deserves so much happiness. It’s tough being the loser in the triangle.

The Aloha Series Box Set has three wonderful retro/historical romance stories. Each set in the beautiful tropical islands of Hawaii in the 1960’s. Jill’s vivid writing captures the beauty of the setting and actually makes you feel like you are there. These books are fun and quick and easy reads. I loved learning about Hawaiian customs, culture and way of life. It is a lifelong dream to go to Hawaii one day.
Try Easy is the first book in this box set and is Keoni and Lou’s story.
Keoni has it all going for him. He is a pro at surfing and it’s his life. He can sing and play guitar and did I mention he’s super sexy.
Lou is a Photographer and gets a trip of a lifetime to Hawaii. It’s here that she meets the charming and charismatic Keoni. But what of her long-term boyfriend back home?
Likable characters or not I don’t condone cheating so unfortunately it put a bit of a dampener on the story for me.
Try Me is the second book and is Pearl & Declan’s story.
Pearl knows what she wants and she wants to be just like her surfing royalty mother. Pretending to be Declan’s girlfriend was not one of them but the chemistry is there for all to see except them.
Declan is a surfing pro and finding it hard to return to the place he lost his best friend. Pretending to be in a relationship with an up-and-coming surfer is meant to be good for them both.
This story is full of emotions where there is guilt and heartbreak, loss and grief and lots of chemistry. It is about being the best at what you do, losing someone and finding that someone.
Try Right is the third book and is Claudia & Henry’s story. A sweet friend to lover’s romance set in the stunning background of Hawaii.
Claudia was once the most sought-after actress who is now only a bit part actress and looking for the one that got away. Trying to recapture a past may not be the thing you need.
Henry is a stuntman who was captured by the beauty to turns up for filming and for better or worse he decides to help her. What starts as friendship has the potential for so much more.
With some angst, a little drama, and lots of chemistry, this tale will delight the reader.
In this different telling of Cinderella. You meet Harry and Ashley. A pop star and a high schooler stuck in Ashley’s house where it is a mortuary. Trying to hide from screaming fans Harry drops into the mortuary, and meets Ashley the social outcast. Ashley who cares not what others think of her, is not too thrilled to meet Harry. He turns her world upside down, and puts her into the spotlight. Meeting roadblocks at every turn Ashley struggles with her growing feeling for Harry. This story was written very well, and was very cute. I’ll be reading this to my daughter when she gets a little bit older!
