Love can be complex…..it has its highs and lows…it is how you deal with the lows can determine can love survive any obstacle? This story of Mavis and Joshua is truly complex…at the beginning it was not but when a mistake leads to a secret will Joshua forgive Mavis?

Mavis and Joshua were young and in love. Talking about dreams and aspirations and what college to attend. When an unplanned pregnancy comes into play, Mavis feels like she needs to protect Joshua’s dreams but leaving. Years later, when Joshua’s personal life crumbles, he truly believes that Mavis was the only one for him. When Joshua finds out where Mavis is….he is ecstatic to finally believe they can be together, but learns that his brother, Austin, knew where Mavis was all along. When Mavis left, not only did she leave her love, Joshua, but also her own brother and her friends with no real explanation. When secrets come out ten years later about the reasons why Mavis left this also complicates that matters of the heart between Joshua and his brother, Austin.

This story was a true roller coaster of emotions. This story is full of love, joy, hopes and dreams but also secrets and betrayal that can leave you feeling shattered. This was a great story and I am looking forward to continuing this series…

Dragonslayer Dragon Heart (Dragon Heart Book 1) Audiobook by Isobelle Cate – Review by Kerry Baker

Although one of the shorter audio book I have listened to, I found myself pulled in by the story being portrayed. I loved the combination of fantasy and history mixed throughout the book. I was caught up by the narration and could easily picture what was going on.

The story drew me in further the more I listened. I wanted to know how things would work out as it seemed such an impossible situation. I kept hoping that things would work out. This is a great book that I think it worth the listening time.

I really enjoyed this love story between Josh and Mavis. Love is really complicated sometimes and feelings get messy. Trying to sort out the feelings from the past for her navigate the present was very challenging for her. Knowing what to let go of and what to hold onto. I also liked Josh and thought his character was well done. I look forward to the next installment!

This is book 1 in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy. It is such a beautiful romance that captivates the reader from the beginning. This story is full of so much heartbreak and upset but also feelings of great love and forgiveness. This is a story about a couple who were deeply in love and how their past mistakes and decisions lead then to where they are today.

This is Josh and Mavis story. They were in love as teenagers but a serious of events and decisions tore them apart. Mavis took the decision to leave to save Josh from the hurt of a secret she carries but was that the right decision?

Can true love last the span of time to be rekindled? Will the secrets that were buried in the past come back to haunt them? Or will it be too little too late? Can forgiveness ever be giving without knowing the horrible truth of what you are forgiving someone for? Will this me Josh and Mavis’s second chance at a happily every after?

This book is full of anger and pain, secrets and upset but underneath it all is the constant feeling of deep love between the characters that time has not diminished.

I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and damnit it, I’ll love you tomorrow too 🥹🥹 Joshua is perfect in every way! The love he has for Mavs is out of this world. He’s been in love with her for YEARS. She left him for a decade (one major secret) and even after all this time, she was still in his heart. If you want a book that brings out all the feelings, this is the one for you. Mavs has been through a lot. She sacrificed a lot. She has a HUGE secret, and that secret being the reason she left. And the one person she leaned on through it all, was the one person she probably shouldn’t have. She has a choice to make. Does she choose the guy she is deeply in love with since the beginning or does she choose the guy who helped her pick up the pieces? Read to find out! You won’t be disappointed! This book is definitely a page turner and you won’t want to stop reading!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book certainly has a lot of drama and misunderstandings. I certainly don’t agree with all of the choices made by, well, any of the characters. Then again, who ever truly agrees with all of the life choices of the people around them, in the real world, anyway? I am hoping the Epilogue means that there will be a second book, perhaps with fewer complications.

Mavis walked away from her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, without a word or explanation, when she found out she was pregnant, to protect him and his dreams of becoming a doctor. Many years later, unexpectedly, she finds out that her ex, Josh, is now looking to find her because he realizes he has always loved her, even without contact or knowing where she has been all these years. Josh has just gotten divorced, and wants to find the one woman he’s ever actually loved. When he discovers that his twin brother, Austin, knows where to find her and has for years, he is finally able to reconnect and learn what really happened when Mavis just disappeared without a word. Can love really forgive all past acts? Mavis and Josh are about to find out, one way or another.

The path to true love never runs smooth, isn’t that what they say? For the wonderful characters in this book, Mavis and Joshua, that is so very true! I was completely hooked on both the characters and storyline from the minute I started reading and they kept me turning page after page. Filled with drama, secrets and a steamy love triangle this is an emotional read full of heart and I personally can’t wait for more from this very talented author and in particular this trilogy.

Oh my, this is a beautiful love story! Josh & Mavis fell in love as teens. A bad decision brought about a chain reaction that affected their lives. This story is written so well that you feel all the emotions as you read. You feel the pain, anger, love, and joy. The characters are very relatable. We have all made mistakes in relationships. To read about Josh & Mavis’s relationship challenges shows a bit of a redemption that helps show love can be great even in second chances. They show love is worth the fight. Tess, however, is a character that I just wasn’t fond of. What a great job writing an antagonist that annoys so well. It’s a terrific debut novel. I hope we’ll see more from this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a truly captivating read! I really enjoyed this take on Cinderella. Reading different interpretations of fairy tales is always fun, seeing how the author decides to change it up or make it more modern. From the prologue to the epilogue, Ashley’s story is one that we’ve read or seen more than once, in various retellings of Cinderella, but it is by no means the exact same. The bones of the story were recognizable, but the rest of the body of the story was truly unique and beautiful. Ashley and Harry’s relationship was tested for sure, but isn’t everyone’s? If you enjoy reading modern fairy tales, this is definitely a must read!

The intrigue of this book kept me reading straight through, I didn’t want to put it down until I found out how it ended! The author masterfully weaves emotions and situational complexity with the characters.
Mavis is a woman who fell in love as a teen and suddenly disappeared without a trace. The book takes us on a journey, and ultimately, she must choose between brothers. I would be lying if I said it was easy to choose who to root for!
I loved the writing style and story told from character points of view, and it all blended together seamlessly. Would definitely recommend.

She also hates being thrust into the media. When her boss’s sister begs her to go on a blind date, she reluctantly agrees, thinking she will just get it over with to stop her from asking again.

Fairly Royal (The Fair Series Book 4) by Grace Grahme – Review by Katrina Evanochko

Fairly Royal (Fair, #4)Fairly Royal by Grace Grahme
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book combines a few tropes into one great story. It is a best-friend’s-sister, fake relationship, and royal romance all rolled into one. Philip is the Earl of Arburne, and while he does not want a real relationship, giving the tabloids a romance to talk about could help take some pressure off him to find someone. His best-friend’s little sister, Anna, agrees to help him out, with a few rules in place.

Anna is confident, but has a hint of vulnerability that helps her feel real. Philip is a bit stuffy as a royal. Watching each of them learn to interact and move through the other’s typical territory is amusing and adds more to their dynamic. This truly is a fun modern fairy tale.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a nice easy read for me as I get ready for the upcoming school year! I love the modern-day retelling of fairy tales and this did not disappoint me in the slightest! This book reminds me a lot of the Cinderella Story movies from my childhood, particularly the first one with Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray.

I love the character of Ashley, I particularly admire how strong she stays despite all of the issues she faces in her life. The character of Harry was different from other ‘Prince Charming’ characters I have read in the past, dealing with plenty of his own issues and I loved reading the chapters in his point of view.

I also love how the side characters and villains were written, each character given a good amount of detail into their lives. I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with in the next book in the series!

Peg’s Stand (Satan’s Devils MC #6) Audio Book by Manda Mellett – Review by Shelly Kittell

5 out of 5 stars
Oh my goodness~! I loved everything about this book as an audio. First, let me start with narration. Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister are the perfect pair for this author’s books. They make the chemistry of the story explosive. The tone of the story is sexy and smoldering. The author’s writing is always a treat. Yes, this is an MC but the story also has a good vs evil edge to it. I am a huge fan of the author and the MC because its a bike group trying to go right. I love the fact that its growing into a family group. In this story, Peg felt so real, he just wanted what everyone else had. He was very considerate and a gentleman for Darcy’s feelings. He also was there to protect her. Darcy is kickass even through all the challenges she had to go through. She struggled with a lot and still came out a survivor. Terrific story. Another winner for this author. I can’t wait for the next.

I really enjoyed this book! It continues following the life that Cam and Freyja have built from her POV. There are plot twists that you don’t expect, and it keeps you reading to find out how it all ends. Just when you think The Collective can’t get any worse… they do, and you want them all to burn.

This series makes you think about your life and evaluate what is really important. Truly. Love this series! You FEEL the heartache and the triumphs of the characters to your core.

Peg’s Stand (Satan’s Devils MC #6) Audio Book by Manda Mellett – Review by Kerry Baker

This series is easily one of my favourite and the audio books are some of the best I have listened to. I become so emerged in what is happening and find myself completely lost by the story. This one is no exception at all and I loved the entire book. I kept finding reasons to turn it back on again and in no time had finished it.

This author is absolutely fantastic. She has created a series so strong, with a lasting effect, and yet has still managed to retain each individual book’s identity. The characters come across so strong and you can’t help but fall in love with them. This is a fantastic book and I would urge everyone to try it today!

Well hello if Phillips is anything like I imagine him to be I’ll put on some naughty Santa lingerie and let him unwrap me 😂🤶🏻

Phillip is to be the next marquee but he stays humble and is determined to make his own mark in the world and he doesn’t easily conform to the limitations and rules set upon him because of his stature and Anna is exactly what he needs and she makes him happy ❣️

Anna is a little spitfire and while she is mindful of Phillip’s position she doesn’t let anyone dictate to her and she is determined to be accepted for who she is and for that she has my respect because it’s so easy to cave and she has backbone she wasn’t afraid to take on anyone who gave her a hard time , good grief she faced Phillip’s mom and gran that already says enough . She’s faithful to him and sees him for the man he is not for the stature and stays that comes with him so she’s a gem !

I loved getting lost in these pages , I laughed I got frustrated at times and there were a few times where I wished I could have dishes out a few slaps to some deserving unkind souls !!!!

Posh posh what a read ❣️📕

Remember to Forget Me (Too Lost to Love Book 1) by Hazel Storm Review By Jennifer Gordon

Remember to Forget Me (Too Lost To Love, #1)Remember to Forget Me by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging second chance at love romance, with a twist, which had me happily turning the pages. Addison and Wesley were teenage sweethearts who were separated after a brutal attack, which left Wesley with memory loss. Having been blamed for the tragedy Addison had to stay away from Wesley, and was forced to watch from a distant as he rose to fame, singing songs that they had actually written together. Ten years later and Addison gets accused of stealing Wesley’s lyrics when an old songbook of hers comes to light. When the couple come face to face their connection is still there, and one look at Addison and although Wesley does not remember her, he recognises something in her.
Neither of them can resist the chemistry between them, and Addison can’t resist being with him once again, even if it’s just for a night. Does his instant attraction mean that his memories are coming back, and if they do will it be their second chance or will Wesley wish he had remembered to forget Addison. I loved Addison and Wesley and felt immersed in their story, but they did take me on an emotional rollercoaster. The storyline is both heartwarming and at times heartbreaking, with an unpredictable plot that kept me hooked. I was hoping that the couple, who’s chemistry really came across in the narrative, would get their HEA.

Fairly Royal (The Fair Series Book 4) by Grace Grahme – Review by Angela Shirley

Fairly Royal (Fair, #4)Fairly Royal by Grace Grahme
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Peter is ruled by pomp and circumstance, having to act a certain way and having your whole life planned out is not the best solution in life, but when he needs to find someone to spend his life with, can his best friends sister be the answer to his prayers.

Anna has known Peter all her life but when he asks for help, how can she refuse its only going to be for a short time, can she put up with him for as long as this deal will last, probably?

I love a good enemy to lover romance as the story slowly burns and the chemistry builds up til they can’t keep there hands off each other and heats the story up. This story is no different although sometimes the characters can be quite wooden and you can see the structure the author writes but not with Anna and Peter. I loved how the author wrote these two beautiful characters, they had depth and you truly felt the chemistry building between them.

Peter although through his public persona is a totally different character which was wonderful to see Anna chip away at was brilliantly to read. Anna’s character was a great compliment to Peter’s as she had no heir or grace’s and somethings that she said with no regard had me laughing out loud. The story flowed beautifully and was a great book to read.

I had not read the first three books but this did not deflect from the story of Peter and Anna, it probably in all honesty peaked my interest to start ready the series from the beginning lol.

I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Mariah’s ex-husband continues to bring problems to her door but this latest one comes with a new twist and his name is John. Mariah thought that her ex turned her off of men for good, but John does something to her that she cannot deny.

Mariah and John’s story is a fast-paced story. It is very sweet and charming. It was nice to see not only the main character as a strong woman but many of the supporting females were as well. Love gets a second chance to bloom, and listeners are along for the ride. This story is also full of supporting quirky female characters that will pull you in and leave you interested in finding out more about them.
