Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the fifth book in the series, and it is every bit as good as all of the other books. The way that they author writes the stories of the mafia boys, and their women is something that is just pure genius. I am not able to put these books down when I am reading them, and you will not be able to put it down either. I get lost in these books, and this series and I get so involved in reading it that I feel as though I am right there in the action with them. I cannot stop reading these books or saying enough good things about this series.

Collateral Damage (Mafia Elite Series Book 6) by Amy McKinley – Review by Vanessa Watts

Collateral Damage: A Second Chance Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 6)Collateral Damage: A Second Chance Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I started this series from book one and look forward to each new release with baited breath. Just when you think she has all the characters written into their own story the author writes out more character stories that will leave you breathless. The writing is dynamic and engaging which must be why I just can’t get enough.

This is Trey De La Rosa’s story, who lives a dual life as a doctor and mafia surgeon for the five families. This duality leads to very little time for a personal life not that Trey wants one after what happened to his first love. That is until he is approached by Allen in a frantic state telling Trey that someone has kidnapped Hailey for a ransom. When Trey finds her and realizes that not everything is as it seems the connection they share is undeniable. As more secrets unfold more threats arise from those within and outside of the mafia. Can Trey get over his past so he can have a future with Hailey? Or will the mafia lifestyle be too much for even the courageous Hailey to handle? They always say if you love them let them go and if they love you they’ll always come back!

The romance in this novel is off the charts between the sexual chemistry between Trey and Hailey. It is enjoyable to read a series where the characters from other series still play a large role in each new book. They definitely build on each other and I recommend reading them in order if you can. If you can’t then you still need to read this one it was super hard to put down and may cause some loss of sleep as you just have to find out what happens next!

This is the sixth book in this series and WOW was this book amazing! Ever since I have started the first word of this series I was HOOKED. This book was just as good as all of the others. The writing style is so unique, and, in every book, it follows a main couple while you still hear about others that you have read about in previous books. Mafia romance novels are generally amazing but this one is the best one that I have ever read. I cannot wait to read more books by this author!!

Enzo and Sofia’s story is so great. Their story together goes back to their childhood where Enzo took a blood oath to protect Sofia. They path to each other is not easy, Enzo just wants to protect her but she also has her own secrets putting her in danger. I was just pulled into the story. Blood Oath brought out a few new mysteries and story lines as well. Elena comes into the picture (since I didn’t read these in order I already know what happens, definitely keep reading the books!) It was nice to have her introduced. And who is the Rat? I have my suspicions :).

I did not start with this book for this series. It was a accident but I knew after reading Savage Secrets I had to come back and read the other ones! I am a complete sucker for a mafia romance and this one did not disappoint. Mac and Lil have such a great story. With out even knowing each other they knew the other was going to be hard to stay away from. Amy does an amazing job at balancing the romance, suspense, and action throughout her books! Can’t wait to move on to the next one!

I will continue to read this series! They are all great! Trey La Rosa has 2 jobs, dr at the hospital and dr for the mafia. Hailey is a socialites daughter. Trey swoops in save her when she is kidnapped and the spark is reignited. The steam and suspense *chefs kiss*. There is plenty of drama and questions regarding her kidnapping but Trey is now determined to keep her safe…. So what’s the secrets? Another wonderful addition to this mafia series! I will be not so patiently waiting for the next one!

Trey has been able to live his own life somewhat separated from the family business. Being a doctor does come in handy though, when gunshot wounds need to be tended without the authorities being involved. However, when the director of the hospital’s daughter is kidnapped, Trey gets involved more than he intended. He never trusted his boss anyway, so why would he involve Trey to go after his daughter? And why was this woman’s kidnapping not as it appears? Another addition to this steamy series. If you haven’t read it, I recommend it!

Captivated (Hybrid Lovers Series Book 1) by Toya Richardson – Review by Amanda Chrissomalis

Captivated (Hybrid Lovers, #1)Captivated by Toya Richardson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well, I’m not normally into reading Sci-Fi books, but this may change my perspective. Captivated is the most PERFECT title for this book! Toya Richardson had me hooked from the first page. Sexy, mysterious, action packed!! Let’s see how this goes.

Angelina is a small-time artist just getting started in her gallery. She has been having the weirdest of dreams about 2 sexy faceless men and captured them in her art. What she didn’t know is that these two men were about to change her entire life.

Luca and Salvatore are twin brothers. But they are not of this world. Half Vampire, half Angel, making them hybrids. They have a bond like no other, making them fierce, but something is still missing… If they don’t find that something who knows what could happen!?

Is prophecy and Love enough to save them all? Or will the heartache and confusion be their undoing?

This is the first book I have read from this author and now she has a new fan. I’m starting to love historical romances and this author made me like them even more. This is the first book of the series The Winemakers and I can tell this is going to be an addictive series. I could not put this book down until the end. I can’t wait to see what she will write about next.

Julia Costa is known as the best winemaker around. She is happy with her life until her husband dies. Julia is now left with a debt that she can’t pay. She is not going to fall for the handsome guy that she owes money to either. Julia will find a way to keep her land and wine. She starts to get to know Griffin and he is not a bad guy after all. Will Julia find a way to take back her life or will she have to start a new one?

The True Purpose of Vines (The Winemakers Book 1) by Giovanna Siniscalchi – Review by Amy Brennan

The True Purpose of VinesThe True Purpose of Vines by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a fantastic change of pace. I have recently become a huge fan of historical fiction and non-fiction via novels as well as television and this really hit the mark for me. I have some relatives that are very passionate about wine, as well as their heritage (they are Italian) and therefore can really admire the love and attentions that Julia gives to the vineyards and the need to save her passion from the plague that’s been infesting the Douro. She is a very stubborn, independent woman and finds it terribly difficult to break down her walls when it comes to others, especially a certain gentleman that is vying for her attentions. What’s a story without a little love, am I right? Icing on the cake, in my opinion!

I knew that I would quite enjoy a different read, and took the chance on this one, and I can’t tell you how happy I am that I did. She obviously put a lot of time and efforts and love into the making of this novel! Amazing story telling, with some real history sewn into the immersive tale spun to capture the hearts, minds, and souls of the reader. Amazing all around, this author is not one to be missed, and I for one look forward to reading more by her!

I am not one for historical romance novels. But something is so amazing about this book. You can tell ALOT of research has gone into this novel. I knew very little about wine making, but this gives you a lesson about all the details small and big. Its based in the 1870’s when women were not respected for owning any sort of business. Julia is trying to save her vineyard after her husband ends up passing away. Griffin is a brit who moves to Portugal to chase a debt that is owed. He ends up moving next door to Julia to keep an eye on her. Little does he know, he will end up falling in love with her.

The Curse of a Faeblood by MK Lorber – Review by Tracy Greenhalgh

The Curse of a FaebloodThe Curse of a Faeblood by M.K. Lorber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My first read of this author and I can honestly say I cannot wait for the next in the series.
Although I found the start a little hard to follow I soon fell into the world of the faeblood and found it difficult to find a suitable place to stop reading for the night (it is that addictive).
MK tells us about Ember and her trials as she journeys on the run through the land where the faeblood live in the castle and rule the land and territories with an iron fist in the form of the Red Guard (their personal army). Through her wiles and tenacity Ember moves from village to village ending up in the Borderlands of Midpointe, where she is caught by the villagers. She falls into the life of the militia village with ease, still hiding until discovered.
There is more than Ember bringing trouble to this family unit and as we follow her time with them, the building of relationships, discovery of love and honour we discover the spy in the mists.
The land of the faeblood has been described in detail and the other territories have been introduced through meetings. I cannot wait to read the second in the series.

Ember is an orphan who has been isolated but wishes to find others who have FaeBlood. She has to leave when her mother is killed.

Gavyn is a warrior that will protect his town. What happens when Ember stumbles upon the town?

The cover caught my attention and I don’t really many stories involving Fae so I decided to give it a try. The slow burn romance between Gavyn and Ember was well done. And I loved the world building around the small village.

I can’t wait for the next book.

This book was soo good I couldn’t put it down Reading Author MK Lorber for the first time. I was amazed to see that this was her first published book. It was really well written. Ember and Gavyn, although they were from different worlds( a real ying and yang) the pull of attraction was too strong for them to fight even though they tried to. The suspense of who the trader was almost had me flipping through the book :} I will definitely be reading the next book to see what the characters have in store for them.

OKAY. THIS COVER IS GORGEOUS. Now that we are past the cover- let’s dive into this book. I am no stranger to magic and this story was magic in itself. I LOVED learning about the “faeblood.” I enjoyed watching Ember grow into herself- enjoyed SWOONING after Gavyn- and enjoyed learning about the characters along the way! (Jade is my favorite- but I might be biased because we share the name. (; ) This was a beautiful fantasy and I am EAGER to read more in this series- this was so well written and intriguing! There was enough romance to fulfill the romantic in me and enough adventure to keep me on the EDGE of my seat. Read. This. Book. Y’all. You won’t regret it!

Wow! Just wow! The storytelling about Ember is absolutely phenomenal. The author takes extreme care in building the world around you and introducing you to the characters. You meet Ember and you see what she deals with on a daily basis, and then her world is plunged into darkness when her mother is murdered. You want to wrap her up in this safety blanket and take her pain away. Enter Gavyn, he is a complete 180 from Ember. He has created this brotherhood that anyone would be proud of to be in. The stark differences between the two is great, but will they over come their differences when their world is turned upside down??? I can’t wait to read the next book!

The Curse of a Faeblood by MK Lorber – Review by Darla Yocom

The Curse of a FaebloodThe Curse of a Faeblood by M.K. Lorber

Ember finds herself alone, fending for herself and missing her late mother’s company. She’s tired, hungry and bored with running from territory to territory. She’s running from her past and not looking for any distractions but finds herself caught by a tall, brawny man named Gavyn. He’s tall, a bit grumpy and not afraid to call Ember out on her thievery.

Thankfully, the cart owner, Jade whom Ember attempted to steal from, takes pity on her, much to the chagrin of her brother, Gavyn. Jade’s tender and trusting heart took pity on Ember, gave her food, asked her to help in the kitchen to feed their community and allowed her to stay with her for the night. From that day on, Ember’s life changes.

With the struggle of missing her mother, not knowing the identity of her father, and trying to hide her hidden talents, Ember finds herself falling head over heels in love with her surroundings, yet is constantly afraid that her past will catch up with her and her new friends. Should she stay or should she go? That is the question running through her head each day, as she awakes in this beautiful village.

The author paints a gorgeous picture of the village, the surrounding kingdom and the engaging characters. There is a a number of descriptive sex scenes throughout the book which definitely paint a picture for the reader; however, I do think they sometimes take away from the overall tale being told.

I hope the next book will expand on the story and keep the reader intrigued, as this book did.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Ember grew up on the run all her life. Once Ember and her mother settled down under the simple pretense of a single mother with her child, she died sending Ember back on the run. All she has wanted was to find people the same as her, even since childhood. She goes to steal food one day when she is stopped by Gavyn.

Gavyn is a cold but protective guy. He had a hard childhood resulting in him not trusting easily. When he spots a beautiful girl trying to steal food from a cart, he is quick to stop her. He thought that would be that until the cart owner decides to let Ember have food in exchange for labour. Gavyn decides to keep an eye on this beautiful thief.

Instantly there were some sparks between the two even though they are complete opposites. Together they set off on an adventure to save their loved ones while a Faeblood appears outside of the kingdom and puts everything in danger.

This book had a little bit of everything, magic, fighting, action, romance. I also really enjoyed how the author didn’t solely focus on one main character. The author split the chapters into different point of views but in third person. Written with much detail I was able to fully immerse in the story as the author did wonderfully to build the world and the people within it.

Another wonderful installment in this series. I did not love it as much as the previous ones simply because Trey isn’t a boss or underboss he is only a brother. So some of the things he did and was privy to in here seemed above his pay grade. I understand that it is a close family but when all the boss’ meet I don’t remember him being there in previous stories. Trey has always come off as a doctor first and it seemed like he only fixed injuries for the Five Families. In this book we get to see another side of him. There is one scene when Trey goes into Protective mode….Me-OW…I loved that scene for two reasons. First I did not think Trey had it in him to go all alpha dominant male and secondly that was so sexy!

As usual and to my delight we get to see a lot of the Boss’ and their women. Especially Sofia as she stands out in this one. We get to see her more in the sister capacity instead of a whirlwind designer and overall tough lady. Very nice!

Overall this is a real good story that I did enjoy and it is a nice add to the overall series. The story has ups and downs and went places I did not think it would. The characters are strong and protective. I look forward to Nico’s as I wonder what problems it will cause with Mia’s family.

Collateral Damage is the sixth book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. This is a brilliant second chance mafia romance- a romantic suspense with an action-packed plot, tension, danger, drama, emotion, intrigue, mafia politics, agendas, high stakes, twists, threats, and sizzling chemistry.
I was so excited that we finally get Trey’s story. And what a story it is… WOW! Another fantastic addition to the series, and it’s getting harder and harder for me to choose a favourite because they are all sooooo good. We have met Trey previously through the series, as he is Sofia (Book #2) and Marco’s (Book #4) brother. His family is ‘the mafia’. But Trey isn’t really involved in the family business on a day to day level as he is a doctor working in a local hospital. But that’s not to say he doesn’t ‘contribute’ when needed. Trey is called on to help out on a kidnapping – and becomes more tangled in the situation than he desired. Especially since he and the kidnapping victim have some serious chemistry. Queue the sparks and sizzle. But danger lurks and things are not quite what they may seem. What happens makes for an exciting read.
So, if you love yourself some fantastic mafia romance, romantic suspense, intensity, danger, and wonderful characters- then you definitely won’t want to miss this exciting story/series!!!
I can’t wait to get my hands on Book #7- “Rivals” which is Nico’s story- it’s bound to be incredible!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Amy McKinley!

This book is beyond amazing! I have absolutely loved all of the previous books in this series and this one was just as good. I was so excited to read Trey’s story, he’s drawn to Hailey from the very beginning but he wants to keep her safe so he keeps his distance. He might be part of the Mafia but he has a big heart and he loves fiercely. Hailey can’t stop thinking about Trey and when circumstances bring them back together neither can deny their growing feelings. She has been through so much in the past that its hard for her to trust and she tries to keep her walls up but that only works for so long. This book is full of action, heat and romance and some twists and turns that had my mouth literally dropping open! You definitely don’t want to miss this book and the next one in the series can’t come soon enough for me!

Collateral Damage is the 6th book in Amy McKinley’s Mafia Elite Series. Boy, has this series been a rollercoaster of emotions! And I am LOVING every single book more and more.

In this story we follow Mafia surgeon Dr. Trey La Rosa, whom we have already met in previous books in the series. Trey has his own unique past and heartache and when he meets Hailey, you can’t help but root for them to have a HEA. The two are thrown together when Trey comes to her rescue as she has been abducted. He didn’t expect to find someone to rekindle the spark in his heart after his own tragedy, and when he found Hailey, he wasn’t about to lose her too. Hailey and Trey are on a dark journey filled with lies and betrayal. Will they make it out alive and together? You will have to read this story to find out!

Blood Oath by Amy McKinley is the second book in the Mafia Elite Series. The book can be read as a stand alone, however, it’s the 3rd book I have read in the series. Even though I didn’t read the books in order, it was easy to follow along.

This story focuses on the story of Enzo and Sofia. A pair with a past and an uncertain future. This book ties in perfectly with Book 1 and I loved following Enzo and Sofia on their own journeys together. The fire is exceptional between the two and it sets up the storyline perfectly for the next book in the series. I am definitely a fan of Amy McKinley!
