The Cruiser (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 1) by Rowan Rossler – Review by Shannen Kern

The Cruiser (The Hustlers Trilogy, #1)The Cruiser by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Cruiser took a little bit to pull me in so within the first few pages I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it. My doubts were quickly obliterated and I blew through the entire book in a day. I’ll warn you now that this book will have you wanting to travel and possibly invest in a yacht!

The author writes Vandana so well that you can feel her strength and self-confidence pour off the pages without crossing the line into conceited. Yet when she meets Morgan there is this immediate vulnerability that is so believable you can’t help but experience the emotions yourself. Will she be on board to take the PR challenge head-on or will she end up in deep water?

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a page-turning romance that has drama infused in every chapter. I’m excited to grab the second book in this trilogy as soon as possible!

Never judge a book by it’s cover, right? Well, the cover of The Cruiser by Rowan Rossler is what instantly pulled me in and made this an insta click!

I’ve always dreamed of visiting Monaco, so I was immediately pulled into the storyline as we follow Vandana to paradise to escape the emotional bomb that was just dropped on her. She thought she had the perfect life, until it evaporated and left her questioning whether it was ever really real. She throws herself into her work and despite the changes in her life, is determined to not let it bring her down. She is strong, feisty and resilient. As she meet’s the incredibly sexy yacht designer she is now working for she finds just the distraction she needed. Morgan is gorgeous and intriguing and introduces Vandana to a world and life she never imagined! The chemistry between the two is off the charts. I cannot wait to see where this series takes us next. I’m buckled up and ready for the wild adventure to continue!

My first book by this author, but it won’t be the last especially as this is the first in a series! Morgan and Vandana bring the spice and the heat in this modern luxury romance. The locations including Monaco and LA provide the perfect backdrop – who wouldn’t want to be relaxing in a gorgeous hotel on the Mediterranean?? A great read for by the beach or snuggling up with a blanket on a cold winter’s night!!

The Cruiser (The Hustlers Trilogy, #1)The Cruiser by Rowan Rossler

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Cruiser by Rowan Rossler is the first book in the Hustler Trilogy. It is a strong start to what promises to be a wonderful series!

This is the story of Vandana and Morgan. Vandana is half of a successful PR company, and Morgan is a wealthy and talented yacht designer from Monaco. He is in desperate need of some positive PR if he wants to land a very lucrative deal with a Saudi Prince.

Vandana appears to have it all–talent, money, and a marriage made in heaven. As they say, not all things are as they appear, even if you are a PR guru. Not many people know, but her life has just imploded, leaving her heart shattered. The job with Morgan seems to come at just the perfect time. She needs this not just for professional reasons but very personal ones as well. She is a survivor, and I loved that about her, yet Rossler also showed us her vulnerable side as well.

Morgan is a woman’s dream of a man, but he does have a playboy reputation, leaving a trail of broken hearts in his wake. However, something about Vandana intrigues him, and spending time with her makes him yearn for more than just a fling. As with Vandana, Morgan is so much more than his good looks and wealth.

The synopsis of the book just scratches the surface. There is so much more than a romance going on between the pages of this sexy romance–many, many secrets that kept me turning the pages! One of my favorite things was the changes and growth of the characters. Ironically, the name of Morgan’s own yacht is Liberte which means “freedom.” In the end, not only do Vandana and Morgan find their own individual freedoms, but some of the secondary characters do as well.

The Cruiser was a fantastic, intelligent romance with great characters and a great setting. I’m looking forward to the other two in the trilogy.

Quick and steamy read, fast paced from the first page. The chemistry in the relationships keeps you invested and from putting the book down.

Vandana works in a very high end PR firm and is in a crisis when she has to deal with hotshot yacht designer Morgan. They both feel an immediate, intense attraction but try to keep control of the situation. When Vandana is convinced by her best friends to join Morgan in Monaco, an intense and sexy chemistry shows itself. There is mystery and intrigue, attraction, the beauty of Monaco, great hot relationship building, and I really enjoyed the flow.

This book is really good. I was not able to put this book down. It is a quick read but it packs a punch. There is steam, the connections that the characters have is off the charts and almost instantly. This book is very fast paced. There is never a dull moment. It really speaks volumes as to what the next books in the series will be like. I highly suggest reading this. The location the book takes pace is almost magical for the characters. It makes me want to take a vacation. The characters in this are both powerful and successful in their own ways. They have their own drama and issues that they need to work through to make it work between them. I love how the lead female character is strong. She doesn’t make me mad. Sometimes a female lead has me yelling at my book for her to do something different. This author, was literally reading my mind throughout this whole book. It was amazing. This has been one of the best sizzling romance, fast paced, though provoking, and well-rounded books I have read in a while.

Everything to Me (Playing for Keeps Book 2)Everything to Me by Lauren Fraser
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book two of the series. This book can be read as a standalone. I read this book before book one but I’m definitely going to have to go back and read it because this one was great!!

Kendall has been in love with Pete forever. The only problems with that are he is her brothers best friend and he doesn’t feel the same about her. Kendall needs somewhere to stay while she’s in town and her brother suggested staying with Pete. She figures this is her chance to get him out of her system once and for all. She didn’t count on the chemistry to be out of this world.

I really enjoyed the banter between Kendall and Pete. She definitely walked onto the scene letting him know what she wanted. She definitely had a take charge attitude and it was refreshing! Pete is sweet and doesn’t seem to realize it too often. I enjoyed his character. This was a quick read. I didn’t want to put it down!

Gina is trying to figure out what it means to be a human and is trying to get a handle on her emotions. Snapper just seems to push every last one of her buttons and she drives him crazy too. They find themselves forced to work together and that’s when their chemistry kicks in. This book was so good I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. What a great and unique concept Landra has used for this first book in this Sci fi romance tale. Fast cars, gangs, sabotage, cyborgs, AI with feelings and so much more. They race fast and live hard doing what they love. I enjoyed Landras other books but this one I have enjoyed the most. The story is fast paced with lots of high speed action. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Reigning Hearts: The Complete Series (Books 1-5)Reigning Hearts: The Complete Series by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read several books by K. G. Fletcher so far and she never disappoints. Reigning Hearts delivers a great mix of characters in each of the five stand alone novels. The characters are realistic, relatable, and lovable. Fletcher creates such a variety of emotions throughout this series that the reader can’t help but feel invested in the outcome of the stories. I laughed, I cried, I felt angry, I felt relief and I felt love! Each of these stories is so different from the others, but you’ll be rooting for the happily ever after. K. G. Fletcher creates such magical yet realistic settings in her stories as well. I felt transported to the beach, to a Christmas wonderland, to the stage of a big concert. I like that I can read these stories in any order and still be able to understand the others. I recommend this series to fans of live, happily ever after, and feel good emotions!

It was enthralling and so well written, I just wanted to keep reading and I didn’t want to put it down. The romance was great and I very easily fell in love with these characters. Kendall has known Pete most of her life and had a crush on him just about as long. He is a friend of her brothers, and both are professional baseball players. Kendall works in advertising and is visiting the area that Pete lives. Her brother suggests that instead of staying in a hotel, Kendall should stay with Pete. Kendall and Pete decide to use their week together to “get each other out of their system”…but the plan backfires. There is plenty of hot sex, but the biggest question still remains, can the two make a real relationship when the chips are down.

A Veil of Gods and Kings (Apollo Ascending Book 1) by Nicole Bailey – Review by Audrie Harrington

A Veil of Gods and Kings (Apollo Ascending, #1)A Veil of Gods and Kings by Nicole Bailey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I devoured this book in less than two days! I enjoyed reading the Greek myth of Apollo and Prince Hyacinth, but reimagined in a new way. I learned about the gods, the family line, and what life is like before they ascend to become a god. I became attached to every character – Apollo, Hyacinth, and Epiphany are trying to avoid the responsibilities they have been born into, Temi is Apollo’s mortal sister who is always by his side, and Valerian who was not claimed by his father so he works as a stable hand. I found Apollo and his powers so interesting to read about, he can veil himself to look like others, he can heal, and more. Zeus, his father, is angry that he will not ascend and sends him to learn under Prince Hyacinth. They are enemies and pretty much hate each other, that is until they start to really get to know one another and learn they have many things in common. Epiphany needs to help her family and marry well, but she doesn’t want to participate in her promotion party and find a husband. She and Temi become very good friends and have some fun adventures. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance (The Casket Girls Book 1)Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’d like to start off saying that I first heard of the Casket Girls in one of my favorite TV shows. That’s when I found out that it was a reference to the actual casquette/Casket Girls. I thought it was cool that even though Blood & Ravens is a fictional story, the author chose to set the story in the same place and time period as the real Casket Girls.
Blood & Ravens was a phenomenal read. It started off a little slow but once the pace picked up it definitely didn’t disappoint. Just when you think you know where the story is going something happens and you’re pleasantly surprised by the turn it takes.
There was a great cast of characters, great storyline and a great twist at the end. Can’t wait to read book #2.

As the women get off the ship in hopes for a better life, things become more complicated than they ever expected. Will they be married off to good men? Will life improve? Many twists and turns to keep you reading and engaged in the story. Greer, your main female character has the guts to push the limits and put herself in harm’s way more than once. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve read some Greek mythology retellings, but I’ve never read one about Apollo and Hyacinth, and I really enjoyed this one. It’s more YA in writing style but I also liked the fact that the mythology was modernised and it was more a story of imagination and fantasy rather than a straight retelling of the original myth. It was really the depth of character that pulled me into the story and the romance/tension is off the charts. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the next book!

A Veil of Gods and Kings is the first book in the Apollo Ascending series by Nicole Bailey. What happens when a god who is a bit of a tortured soul and haunted by his memories, fights his fate, and in doing so takes a stand against his father? Well, we are talking about Apollo, who is supposed to ascend to become the god of the sun- and yep you guessed it, his father being Zeus himself. So, as you can imagine, Apollo’s refusal to accept his fate doesn’t go over too well with daddy dearest, resulting in Zeus making an ultimatum. Now Apollo has been forced into a mentorship under the guidance of the insufferable Prince Hyacinth. Something neither of them relish. Things are going to get complicated- rather quickly. Especially when their chemistry begins to simmer and smoulder. What happens next makes for a very intriguing read.
This is a NA reimagining of the Apollo myth; an enemies to lovers fantasy with a slow-burn MM romance (nothing explicit), plenty of emotion, angst, drama, danger, layers, banter, and intrigue. And can we take a moment to appreciate this gorgeous cover! It sold me even before I knew anything else about the book. Love me a gorgeous cover!
Happy Reading!

A Veil of Gods and Kings(Apollo Ascending Book 1) by Nicole Bailey Review By Jessica Stone

A Veil of Gods and Kings is a wonderful reimaging of the Greek myth of Apollo and Hyacinth, an interesting twist on an M/M, Enemies to Lovers, Slow Burn, Greek mythology.
One thing that caught my attention immediately about this book is how skilled the author is at creating such a mind-blowing immersive and vivid world. From the beginning I could picture every little detail from the fruit on the tress to the vivid blue and white hues of the sky
The first book of four in the ‘Apollo Ascending’ series this slow burn, fade to black, NA romance story told from multiple perspectives, did not fail to pull me in and hold me until I had no choice but to keep reading until the end. The main character of the story, Apollo is nothing if not relatable, with his disdain for being told how to live his life to his sassy attitude towards hyacinth, and his undeniable charisma, he was immediately my favorite character. Though this story is also being told from two other perspective, it leaves you equal time to get to know every character and to fall in love with each one, opening the possibility to further explore the other characters story in the future.
I enjoyed the empowerment on not only men being in less than favorable situations with unwanted destinations in life, but it shows the struggle of these strong women just trying to walk their own path in life, no matter what, or with who that might be.
If you’re looking for a new interesting take on Greek mythology, with fade to black type romance, I would highly recommend this book for you. I’m excited to see what this author has in store for us readers and where she’ll take us with her phenomenal characterization!

I also loved the chemistry between Greer and Theron; it was amazing! It was also fun seeing them both struggle with their attraction to each other.
