A must-read if you are into a steamy unpredictable romance. Ember hid for so long but want more than a runaway, wanted to be someone. Until life changed her path outside the walls into a town. Gavyn was always going to protect his town no matter what until a stranger appeared seeking refuge. Not knowing that soon they have to join together to save what they love the most.
The author did an amazing job with these two characters. Love both sides of the story.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood and Ravens by A.D. Brazeau is the first book of the “Casket Girl” series as well as my first book by this author. Blood and Ravens is filled with vampires, demons, and Gods. I was pulled into this story wanting to know what was going to happen next. I was surprised at the twist in this story. I liked how the story took place in a late period, but I could still relate. I haven’t ever heard of the Casket Girls but was very interested in what these girls were carrying. I will have to read the next installment to see what happens next with the love between Greer and Theron and if we will see anymore twists to the story.

The Curse of a FaebloodThe Curse of a Faeblood by M.K. Lorber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this magical adventure romance. The character did an amazing job of setting the scenes and the characters. You can really feel the emotions that the characters go through as as the fear and the feeling of constant threat that Ember goes through, to the determination and pride that Gavyn has and his hatred and suspicion when he first meets Ember.

Ember is different. She is a Faeblood which means she has magical powers. However this is one secret that she can never tell. As she grow her mother always told her never reveal your secret and never stay in one place for too long. With her mother passing Ember is now on her own and feeling isolated and lost she tries to protect herself and keep away from harm.
That all changes when she meet Gavyn. Gavyn is an elite fighter who protects his people and especially his sister.
So when his sister offers Ember a place to stay he isnt happy and is very suspicious about who she is and what she wants.

When other people with Faeblood start to emerge from the castle Ember is excited to meet more people like her. Until she realises the danger they are to all the people she had grown to love.
Working together Ember and Gavyn need to protect everyone they care about. Can they work as a team to do this? If Ember is exposed as a faeblood will she be seen in the same light as the faebloods doing them harm? And can a relationship every work between a human and a faeblood.

This story has it all and will keep the reader gripped from beginning to end. It is beautiful to see Ember blossom into a confident woman instead of the shell of a person she is at the beginning.

I was so excited to pick up a new book by this author. And when I read the description of this story I knew I was going to love it. From the moment I started reading I was completely hooked. The book was well developed and intriguing. I loved how the author made it feel quite exciting and mysterious.
The characters fit with the book so well. They were interwoven in a clever way and really keep your attention. This author has firmly become one of favourites and I never hesitate to pick up a book she was written. This is yet another example of why.

This is the first book that I have read from the author, and I was not disappointed. It did take me a little bit to be able to fully understand where the author was going with the story, but once I realized I was hooked. I’ve always been a big fan of fae books, honestly anything magical. But this was something that once I was immersed, you were not able to pull me away. It was like i had to finish this book to see how it ended. The author was able to bring the world to life. I was able to fell and see everything the characters were. Experience everything through their eyes. I’m excited to see what else this author has instore with this series.

The best thing about picking up this series, is as soon as you finish the first, you can continue immersing yourself in a world of romance and quaint towns. The characters are complex yet relatable, and you find yourself identifying personally with traits of each. This is better than Hallmark, with loads of the passion and intimacy! The author perfectly blends conversation with humor and sass. There is just enough heartbreak spattered in to give these characters depth and memorability.

Though I didn’t want the series to end, I can say the final book was my absolute favorite. A Cold Creek Christmas gives me everything I could want. Christmas decorations and music – the description of a winter wonderland – small town feel – and a passionate pairing.

I can’t wait to read more from this author!

This is a fun sports romance story. I didn’t realise it was the second book to the series until I was half way through. I haven’t read the first book but I think that it would have been better if I had as I felt like somethings were missing. The storyline is enjoyable and well written with lots of chemistry but I would have liked a bit more steam. I’m definitely going to have to go back and read it and then re-evaluate this one. It is a quick read a brother’s best friend story when the annoying little sister has grown up. I enjoyed that it was written in multiple POV because you get to know more about the characters. This is the first book that I have read by Lauren and I look forward to reading more of her work.

Greer wakes up on a ship with a group of girls that are off to a convent in New Orleans in order to get married and find a new life. Unlike most of the girls there, Greer didn’t volunteer for this and has been kidnapped feom the streets of Paris. Theron is a demon that travels with Greer’s group and he just so happens to be feeding on Greer. Throughout his feasting he has developed feelings for her. With hints of Greek mythology, vampires, a strong willed female character, and slow burn steam – I thoroughly enjoyed this read and will be keeping an eye out for the next book.

Mafia Elite Series Box Set: Volume One Kindle EditionMafia Elite Series Box Set: Volume One Kindle Edition by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars

This fantastic boxset contains the first three books in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. Ms. McKinley is one of my favourite authors, and this series is a testament to her talents. This boxset is a wonderful introduction to the Mafia Elite series- with three books in one, hello- #winning.
But trust me when I say that you are bound to develop an addiction to her books and go searching for more. So, you will be happy to know that there are not only more books in this series, but also an extensive back-catalogue of the authors other books too- which are also excellent reading in their own rights.
This Boxset contains No Way Out (Book #1), Blood Oath (Book #2), and Born In Darkness (Book #3). Below are my individual reviews for these books to give you a little taste of what to expect…..

NO WAY OUT (Mafia Elite Book #1):
5 Stars
ALL THE FREAKING STARS!!!! OMG!!! Amy McKinley has outdone herself, AGAIN!!!!
No Way Out is the incredible first instalment in the Mafia Elite series by the supremely talented Amy McKinley. I know I keep saying this with every new release of hers, but this is definitely a new favourite for me.
It is a fantastic mafia romance/romantic suspense, with plenty of action, violence, danger, drama, mafia politics, intrigue, tension, chemistry, sizzle, secrets, revenge, and emotion.
I fell for Max and Liliana right from the beginning- they were such great characters- quite complex, fully developed individuals with depth and their own unique quirks and flaws.
I really don’t want to give too much away and spoil the story for you… But will leave you with this little tidbit. Max has an agenda that has taken a lot of time and planning to finetune before he can now, finally, let it all unfold. He has been tasked with protecting his mentor’s granddaughter, on top of his own plans to exact a little revenge and right past wrongs. He never expected that he would be so drawn to the young woman he was sent to protect. Having more in common with her than he first thought. But she is no defenceless flower, as he soon discovers- she’s one kick-butt mafia princess. But with secrets, agendas, politics, and sinister intentions- it’s not long before they are neck deep in a dangerous situation. It definitely made for an intense, suspenseful, edge of my seat read!!! Another gem to add to Ms. McKinley’s crown!

BLOOD OATH (Mafia Elite Book #2):
5 Stars

Second book into this amazing series and Ms. McKinley has hit it out of the park again!!! Blood Oath is the second fantastic book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. As with the first book, this is a brilliant mafia romance- a romantic suspense story with an action-packed plot, secrets, dramatic developments, mafia politics, intrigue, tension, chemistry, steamy encounters, emotion, and more…
This book continues what we started in book one, but this is Sofia and Enzo’s story (whom we met in book one as supporting characters). I loved all the interconnected details and intriguing threads that Ms. McKinley is weaving through her stories, and series. It makes for riveting reading. I have a new addiction and I can’t wait for my next fix!!!

BORN IN DARKNESS (Mafia Elite Book #3):
5 Stars

So, after finishing this and having read most, if not all of Ms. McKinley’s books now, I have come to the conclusion that she could write the phone book and make it addictive reading! Seriously!!! If you have yet to pick up one of her many books, what are you waiting for? You will kick yourself for missing out this long.
Born in Darkness is another gem in Ms. McKinley’s crown- a stellar mafia romance, it is the third book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. A masterfully woven romantic suspense story with action, violence, mafia politics, second chances, family dynamics, friendship, chemistry, sizzle, secrets, drama, intrigue, tension, and edge of your seat developments.
This book is Stefano and Emiliana’s story, I was so excited to dive in- and now I can honestly say Ms. McKinley doesn’t rest on her laurels here, she ups the ante yet again, grabbing me right from the get-go and had me flipping the pages to find out what happens, all while proving once again that this series just gets better and better with each new release.
If you haven’t read the previous two books, I highly recommend that you do, as not only are they fantastic stories in their own rights, they also contain important information that will help you better appreciate this story, as well as building a bigger picture.
I love this series and the wonderfully complex characters that take centre stage here. I have a serious addiction to Ms. McKinley’s stories and need my next fix STAT!

Take my word for it- if you love mafia romance, romantic suspense, wonderfully developed characters, depth, and addictive reading- then you definitely won’t want to miss this exciting BoxSet, or series!!!
Happy reading!

Thank you, Amy McKinley!

Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance (The Casket Girls Book 1)Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood and Ravens is a historically based paranormal romance novel that has a premise that pulled me in from the very beginning. It is book one in a series. Greer is kidnapped and thrown into a ship and taken to New Orleans where she doesn’t know anything or anyone but she is required upon disembarking the ship to stay at a convent and be pushed into an arranged marriage that she wants nothing to do with. Although she keeps having dreams about a man at her bedside that she can barely remember. Enter Theron, the mysterious man at her bedside who can’t help but want her to notice him. I’m a sucker for the rough, tough bad guy who progresses in the story and ‘changes’ or reveals his heart and he’s really a big softie or he has feelings for ‘the girl’ he’s never had for anyone else before. I did enjoy the writing and the story had me hooked from the beginning and I had trouble putting it down, finishing it all in one night. I am looking forward to other books in the series that I hope include at least a little snippet of an update as to how these two are doing with Greer’s deal with Hades.

I loved Greer and Theron. The push and pull between them, and the undeniable chemistry made the story magnetic. Greer was a strong and fierce heroine, and you cant help but fall in love with her character. Theron was very much a dark and broody soul with bad boy vibes. Together they are dark, intense, and fearsome. This was a dark tale I will not forget, and I am eager to continue to see if they couple thrives.

This book was intense. I loved the action and thrills. From the very beginning, you were sucked right into the gunfight at the bar. I could just picture it. The scene was set up that well. The character descriptions were fantastic. It was a spy thriller in a book. Tremendous job!! One of my favorites for this year. I started with book 2 so Nadia’s TBI is a little confusing to me. It makes the plot a little choppy but it’s still a great flow. HERA seems to work effortlessly together to find out what’s going down and who is in charge to get them. I was on the edge of the seat the whole time. It would get more than 5 stars if I could give them. Loved it!!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood & Ravens is the first book in The Casket Girls series. I was drawn to it by the 18th-Century New Orleans setting and was soon captivated by the vivid world and the paranormal plot.
The story builds on the experiences of young women who were sent from France to North America to marry the settlers and highlights the challenges they faced – seasickness, uncertainty, isolation, husbands with whom they had no romantic connection – as well as the conditions back home that would make this seem like an attractive choice. But it adds in a paranormal element, with vampires taking advantage of the situation to start a new life overseas.
There are some great characters in this book – Greer of course, and also her friends. I particularly like Desiree and am thrilled to see that the second book in the series will focus on her! I can’t wait to learn more of her story.
This is an enjoyable read, with some plot twists that really caught me by surprise! The best thing about it is the setting – clearly well-researched and with plenty of detail to bring it to life and also encourage an interest in this period of history. It gets five stars from me!

I enjoyed this military romance story. This is a well written story about Nada and Mitch. She has a traumatic brain injury that has affected her memory. She has no memory of Mitch and their relationship but there is something about Mitch that is drawing her to him. Will she remember what they had together or will the secret between them stay just that a secret? I enjoyed these characters and what they brought to the story. They are strong, engaging and kept me coming back for more. I enjoyed their chemistry and watching their growth throughout the story. This is a story that is full of romance and some action. It is a hard story to put down and so entertaining to read. I highly recommend this book.

This was a fast paced romance and I was HOOKED from beginning to end. Both of the main characters were independent and strong people and thoroughly fleshed out. I love their interactions with each other and the side characters too- it made for a more immersive experience. The story taking place in Italy?? Love it. The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance, #3)The Fighter by India Kells
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Juliet and Ten are in a bind and when Ten decides to take a chance at underground fighting their paths cross with Gage. One split decision from Gage turns their lives upside down. Soon the three have the wrong men interested in them. Can Gage find a way to help Juliet and Ten or will the bad guys get to them first?

While I found the storyline of this book an interesting one, I did not fall for the characters. Their story pulls you in at the start, but I quickly found the character development lacking for me. The characters are continually confused which I understand is a major part of the storyline, but it soon becomes annoying. The story keeps changing the direction of the romance and I did not like the build up of the story being a threesome and also highlighting the chemistry between the two men only to go in a completely different direction. In the end I was confused at the direction the romance went after the big buildup and attention paid earlier in the book to the connections between certain characters. The plot moves along at a good pace but ends abruptly and surprisingly for me.

K.G. Fletcher is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. I read this book set and I have fallen in love with her real-life characters and situations.

This box set contains four full length stories and one novella.

Run to the Sea is a friends to lovers romance. Emmeline and Thomas were childhood best friends then he moved away. After being gone for years now he is back.

Stars Fall From the Sky is a small town second chance romance. Ginger and Jonathon can the let go of the past and over come to make things work? This book has all the emotions.

Sun So Bright is a billionaire heiress/enemies to lovers romance. Fiona has lost herself through the years, can Chris help her find herself?

I’ll See You Again is a Rock star/opposites attract romance. This story is about Nicky and Mac. This will have you running the highest of highs as far as laugh out loud funny but it will also have you mad as a wet hen. This is a great story

A Cold Creek Christmas is a Single dad holiday romance. This is a novella and in my opinion as a humble reader it was too short. I want more of Amber and Gio

This is the third installment of the underground bad boys series and it was the best one in my opinion ( Gage is my favorite male character🤣😍). When Ten and Juliet get themselves into trouble, Here comes Gage. The White Knight to the rescue to save his siren and her best friend. The menage a trois in this book is just as hot and spicy🥵🌶 as the first and second one if not more. I love that we get to see some of the action with the bad guys, which makes it suspenseful. I also love that we see the characters from the previous books. And omg the epilogue is just the cutest thing.🥰

Okie so i really love how India Kells makes the main females strong and not the typical weak damsel in distress. Josie had to overcome a lot but she did it all with her head high. This is the second book in the series. If you haven’t read the first one I suggest you do. It’s a great read and you’ll understand some of the characters more like the main hot guy Knoxs. Him and Josie at first was like oil and water but as they warm up to each other hot da*m then you add Gage to the mix. It’s hotter than 5 alarm chili. I do however feel bad for Gage because he can’t seem to catch a break. Gage is my favorite character so far. Hopefully in the next book(his book) he gets what he deserves.
