The True Purpose of Vines (The Winemakers Book 1) by Giovanna Siniscalchi – Review by Audrie Harrington

The True Purpose of VinesThe True Purpose of Vines by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a great introduction to Portugal – the people, the wine, and the land! The main character, Julia, is a widow who is running a vineyard during a time when it was done only by men. It is 1870 and she is looked down upon for running the vineyard and speaking up to other men doing the same. She is independent, tough, headstrong, and willing to do anything to keep her vineyard going. When Griffin Maxwell comes to town to check in on his own vineyard, there is an instant connection. Julia teaches him about the culture, the stories, the food, and the grapes. Griffin is helping her find a cure to the plague spreading through vineyards, teaching her son how to ride a horse, and opening her up to new love. The setting is beautiful and the characters are very relatable. This was a page turner and I had to keep reading to see what decisions would be made and what obstacles they would have to overcome. All you need is a perfect glass of wine or Julia’s favorite, port!

PHENOMENAL book….the characters were sizzling off the pages, the chemistry between them was so hot! First read by Rowan Rossler, but it definitely will not be my last! Steamy, hot, romance that I could not put down until the last page was turned! I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

PR guru for the swanky, rich, LA crowd, Vandanna had it all. Successful business, movie star husband, great house and amazing friends….Until one day her husband dropped a bomb that shattered her world. Vandanna didn’t think she would ever be the same….that is until she met Morgan, the sexy, captivating, Moroccan billionaire whose playboy ways was a PR nightmare. Vandanna was looking forward to the distraction in working with Morgan; far, far away from LA and her soon to be ex-husband, however she definitely got more than she bargained for during her ten days in the Mediterranean.

Loved the exotic setting, the chemistry between Morgan and Vandana, and the element of mystery and intrigue. Author did a great job of creating complex believable characters. I really liked Vandana’s perspective when her personal life had taken a nosedive. While we can relate with the heartbreak of an ending relationship, she decided to get away and take on a major professional undertaking at that moment. Life keeps going. She kept going. I found that inspiring. I also love the professional side of this where we have two people really good at what they do coming together for this project. So many angles to look at in this romantic read. Looking forward to more from this author!

Unabridged (Lovestruck Series Book 2) by Melinda De Ross – Review by Shea Gilkerson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This would be a great “vacation” book. I enjoy a good romantic comedy once in awhile, and this was pretty dead on in that category. No deep, meaningful moments or a lot of intrigue, but funny moments with a few sexy scenes sprinkled throughout as well as some laugh out loud moments. It is comforting, once in awhile, to have a super light read where nothing surprising happens and everyone gets their sweet happily ever after.
The characters were fun to read about and what you get to see between them is complimentary – and vague enough to make you feel like you see your family and friends in them. Basic themes, nothing deep but a fun daydream kind of idea. Like I said, a perfect book to read on vacation and just relax!

Angelina is a journalist at literary magazine Unabridged. Her boss had given her free reign to choose topics and whether or not she came into the office to work. When she went to turn in her newest offering, a piece showing her lack of interest in the BDSM story genre, she finds a new boss in the office…who just so happens to be the man she left behind 3 years ago. Blade is still the hottest man Angie has ever seen, and her feelings haven’t faded since she ran away from him last time.

Things move pretty fast in this book, but it’s a fun, mostly lighthearted read. I could read an entire book about Zorro Kalashnikov!

I have found a new favorite historical romance author! This book was quick for me to devour. I enjoyed how in addition to the romance part we also got to learn a bit about the wine making process.

The author has an amazing writing style. The entire book it was as if I were in the room the characters were in. Her attention to detail allowed me to imagine the room around me, smell the air, hear the characters speak out loud to me. I’m definitely excited to read more by her in the future!

This was such a sweet and heartwarming historical romance novel. I found myself really swept up by the story and the characters. The author has done a fantastic job at recreating life in 1870. Even though it is world’s away from life now I could easily imagine the way it was and the journey the characters go on.
The characters for me are the part of this book though. They really come to life over the pages and the connections they develop are so relatable. This is a brilliant book that js thoroughly enjoyable.

This is a wonderful book that I truly highly recommend right from the start. The story flowed at a very nice rare I found, and the characters were very easy to love and had their different amount of appeals. It was a story that sucks you in right from the start and you really grow with the story and characters.

I found the story had its appeal yes, but its own essence of beauty. The fine details the author had used, were impossible not to love and embrace within your mind. I felt I was right there beside Julia and Griffin. They were different, sure, but when they collided more than their body and mind collided, but also their soul. I loved reading their moments together as they grew as people, but to fight for what they knew that they were destined to, to save the vine yard, but would they save their souls and hearts in the process? The story was a easy read, with lots of tender moments and moments that defined the rest of the book I found. Truly loved it and very much enjoyed this author’s writing and amazing book they wrote!

Needless to say, this book is for sure a must read. It has a lot to offer to reader for sure, all the reader has to pick up this wonderful book, and indulge into all it has to offer. It is a high recommendation from me with no doubt, and not one to be passed up or missed out on. Prepare for a read that will take you away!

Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance (The Casket Girls Book 1)Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a fascinating story. The last thing Greer remembers was being on the streets of Paris. When she wakes, she’s on a filthy boat with lots of girls heading for a convent in New Orleans to get married off. At least that’s what they think. Theron and the others come in the night while they are sleeping. The others barely remember anything but Greer, somehow, remembers Theron visits. Greer tries to get to the bottom of this mystery as Sister Francis is having the girls meet the men they will be marrying. Nothing is as it seems. There are secrets everywhere. Plot twists will get you when you aren’t looking. This is a story that will get you when you aren’t expecting it. Vampires, Demons, and a few other surprises just make this POP! One of the best paranormal stories I’ve read in a bit. The characters aren’t all sugar coated and agreeing with everything. There are several characters like Sylvie that show their strength as they story goes along. Greer shows how much courage, resilience, and power she has. She is totally putting together a rebellion. Theron shows his love for Greer. The story was very good. The plot twists were in there so well that you didn’t see them coming. BAM, plot twist! These girls are butt kickers and survivors. The whole tone of the story is surviving. I highly recommend this series. This is book 1. I can’t wait to get book 2.

This is a 5 star read. A beautiful location that blossoms with vines full of grapes and flowers. Unfortunately, there is a plague going around among the grapes (which is a fear). Julia is trying so hard to keep and improve her her vineyards. It is her legacy for her son (a Portuguese tradition). Griffin is an Englishman sent to snoop and make sure she is running things right. Sparks ignite but can they overcome culture differences? I loved this book because it was so well written. The descriptions made you feel like you were there in the vineyard or on the casa with them. The people, oh my, they were characters of their own. Aunt Rosie feels like a bossie drama queen but Julia didn’t want to hurt her feelings. Julie has such a caring and compassionate heart. Griffin felt like he could be good but it took a while for it to show. I felt the story really showed how things kind of intertwine. Can the culture intertwine? That’s the big issue. This is a beautiful historical romance that leaves you feeling good. I highly recommend it.

The Cruiser is a steamy romance that takes us to Monaco and the life of luxury. Vandana is a PR agent who is hired to maintain Morgan, a yacht designer who needs to extinguish his playboy ways in order to obtain a Saudi Prince as his client. The first meeting of these two sets the tone for the entire story; extravagance and desire. I did enjoy the story and that the author added details to each character throughout the story. Vandana has some fantastic friends and Morgan’s family is so charming and lovely. Looking forward to the next in this series.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book was decent and had some good spice but I couldn’t get myself to care enough about the Yacht talk and PR drama. It all just went right over my head so those parts bored me but the drama, spice, and romance kept me going. I really enjoyed the dual POV because the male perspective in romance books is always better IMO. Morgan was definitely a sexy successful player bad boy while Vandana was the has-it-all-together perfect seeming woman and I loved watching them break down each other’s walls and seeing the struggles each of them face yet they still admired and adored each other despite their flaws. I absolutely was a sucker for every time Morgan defended or protected Vandana because how could you not love a sexy ‘I don’t care about anyone’ type of man who shows you he cares about you by punching a guy right in the face for you in the middle of a business event. And don’t even get me started on his speech at the end because I absolutely cried at the sweetness of it all. I only gave 3 stars because I was personally bored with the theme of boats and PR but besides that, this was a great story.

I really enjoyed this historical romance. The author does an amazing job with the writing to actually transport you to Portugal. You feel like you are there seeing the sights and smelling and tasting the wonders it offers.

I love our leading lady Julia. She is a very strong lady who has had to overcome a lot to keep hold of her port wine business in a world that only sees men as capable for the job. Julia’s determination and passion comes through in this story as she fights to prove she is just as good as any man and save her sons legacy.

Griffin has been sent to visit Julia to see about money that was lent to expand the business. He goes there with one purpose and the thought of finding someone who would steal his heart isn’t that purpose.
However the heart wants what it wants and Griddin and Julia’s story proves to be just as passionate as Julia is about her wine. However things are plain sailing and when secrets come to light and decisions made is the couple’s love going to be strong enough for them to survive or will it tear them apart.

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Amy Brennan

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance, #3)The Fighter by India Kells

This final installment in the series was exactly what I was hoping for. To be honest, the end of the epilogue really brought tears to my eyes. I wasn’t expecting to become as connected with some of the characters as I did, and to see it all sewn up in the sweetest way was brilliant and not once do I feel that this author lacked in her writing style, character building, nor the ability to make everything come ( I’d spell it differently, but that would be a little much for an online review,) and I haven’t felt this level of loss at the end of a series in a bit.

Juliet and Jonathan’s story is heart-warming, and proved that chivalry truly isn’t dead, even in situations where it’s doubted that it could be alive and well. Juliet cares deeply for her best friend, Ten, and has been in love with him for as long as she can remember. Ten very much feels the same way, but it isn’t until Gage enters their lives and brings a whole new world to the surface, allowing for truths to be found and told, and for all three of them to experience a first in life experiences, together and separately. Ultimately, I think this one was my favorite, as I’ve been rooting for Gage this whole series, knowing that beneath that beastly exterior, there had to be something softer there. Give this finale a read, you certainly won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend!

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Angela Hayes

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance, #3)The Fighter by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars

The Fighter is the third book in An Underground Bad Boy Romance series by India Kells. This book concludes this fantastic series which I have followed from the beginning. This book kind of brings us full circle, as Gage finally gets his HEA!!! WOOT!!! We met Gage back in book one, and he has played an important role in each book- but always seemed to ‘miss out’ on having a HEA. I am so happy that we finally get his story!!
This book could be read as a standalone, but as there are recurring characters and other important details contained in the previous two books, I highly recommend reading those books before starting on this sizzling instalment.
This is a superb romantic suspense- and as with the other two books, this has a ménage/threesome aspect to the story too. The story is wonderfully written, with more sizzlingly HOT encounters- and being set in the world of cage fighting means there is plenty of danger, drama, pleasure, pain, heartache, intrigue, suspense, and gritty tension. As with the other books, there is more to this story than just lust and the ménage- there is also a ‘deeper’ story, with beautifully flawed characters fighting their demons, discovering more about themselves, while finding love unexpectedly. I had to know how Gage’s story would play out, so I ended up devouring the book in only a couple of hours. I loved every minute and really didn’t want the book, or series, to end.
I really can’t wait to see what Ms. Kells does next!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, India Kells!

The Cruiser (The Hustlers Trilogy, #1)The Cruiser by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vandana’s life is on a bit of a downhill curve now, although to say her work life is great but her personal life has taken a hint. Her husband has just announced that he has had an affair and wants a divorce thus sending her into a spin. So, she falls back on work to relieve her from her disastrous life but that when life starts to get interesting.

Morgan is what some people describe as a Playboy of sorts, he has a successful Yacht Businesses in the one of the most exclusive countries in the world, what more does he need? A good reputation if he is to win over a big, big contract. So, one of his advisors puts forward a company and within one meeting Morgan’s life changes forever.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and I have to say it was a brilliant, well written story. The characters were brilliantly suited with the Sassy and forthright of Vandana’s personality was a great mirror to the slightly arrogant demeaner at the beginning with Morgan, but as the story flowed along you saw the true character of Morgan and fell just a little with him in the end. I also love when the authors include the destinations in the story, and you feel part of the glamourous world of Monaco, Italy, and LA with each word which describes them.

I really enjoyed the story and loved the secondary characters with Vandana’s friends and Morgan’s family and his friends. The twist in the story is brilliantly but there is a back story that needs to be told, all in all I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to read the next book and books to come.

Targeting Dart (Satan’s Devils MC #4) Audio Book by Manda Mellett – Review by M Policicchio

I don’t know how this author keeps finding ways to make these books better and better.  If I haven’t said I love this series before, let me say it now.  I LOVE THIS SERIES.  The characters are strong but gentle, loveable but deadly, make me laugh out loud but serious.  If it wouldn’t mean giving up my adoring husband and adapting a completely new lifestyle, I think I would find a way to become an old lady of one of the Satan’s Devils!!

Dart, a known hit’em and quit’em kinda of guy, falls hard for a woman that is not his type and might even cause a stir in the club.  Alex is running from her abusive, cop soon-to-be-ex-husband.  She is doing everything she can think of to stay off anyone’s radar.  She even takes a cash job for the Satan’s Devils.  Dart seems to be able to resist the pull towards Alex until he meets her son, Tyler.  When Alex’s soon-to-be-ex kidnaps both Alex and her son, Dart and the brothers seek to get her back.  It works until Dart, Mouse, and Slick discover that brothers in a different chapter are plotting against them and are working with a dirty cop.  The suspense in this one kept my earbuds hot!!

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance, #3)The Fighter by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book, this author is quickly becoming one of my favorites to read. I was pulled in right from the beginning and read it in one sitting. I got a chuckle at how Gage and Juliet first met. Fate steps in and he ends up seeing her again at an underground fight.

Juliet is with Ten at a fight that they are relying on him to win so they don’t lose their apartment. Things take a twist that brings Juliet fact-to-face with Gage again who offers advice that hurts more than it helps them. Gage ends up offering them a place to stay and lets just say things take a very interesting twist. You could feel the chemistry coming off the pages. Will they all get a HEA? Or will certain choices ruin everything they have?

I really enjoyed this read and these three characters. They all had great personalities and strengths. We also get some very steamy scenes from them. We get all sorts of twists and turns that added a great element to the story. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

Everwood Plantation by Stacy-Deanne – Review by Kay Stritesky

Everwood County PlantationEverwood County Plantation by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Zenni has one goal. Colton has one goal. They are not the same
In this short cute read we follow the story of enemies to lovers. Can two people really overcome all the obstacles? Can two people both chasing a goal different from each other put that aside?
The author does a very good job of bringing us into the story, making us feel like we are there in Georgia in the heart of the story! This was a nice, fun, easy to read book that really made you rethink what you know!

Reigning Hearts: The Complete Series (Books 1-5) by KG Fletcher – Review by Lisa Helmick

Reigning Hearts: The Complete Series (Books 1-5)Reigning Hearts: The Complete Series by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a nice collection to grab. I enjoyed all these books! I am not sure how this author does it but she seems to write smashing stories filled with entertaining characters and love and mixes it all together..every..time. I many times found myself loving these characters while going through a lot of different emotions ranging from happiness to tears. Below is part of my review from one of the books that encompasses these thoughts and emotions.

Stars Fall from the Sky
Reigning Hearts Book 2

This is one emotional roller coaster! I mean reading the synopsis gives a bit of a clue so I was prepared for the tears. But then a few pages later….anger. Yes I was shocked then I got mad. Not at the book. One certain
character…well maybe two. You will know what I’m talking about if you read this. This author played me like a violin. Sad…Irritation…disbelief then shock and anger. Well let’s end on a good note…there was happiness too.

Targeting Dart (Satan’s Devils MC #4) Audio Book by Manda Mellett – Review by Kerry Baker

This series is such an incredible series and I love the way it has been brought to life in audio book format. As with the others, the author has done an amazing with this story. It is engaging, fast paced, exciting and full if truly interesting characters. I was pulled into the story.
It thought it was Narrated really well. I could easily imagine everything going on and it made the story that much better. This was another great addition to this fantastic series.

Targeting Dart (Satan’s Devils MC #4) Audio Book by Manda Mellett – Review by Cindy Mayberry

Another fantastic addition to this MC. This is Dart and Alex’s story. Dart is a member of the Satan’s Devils. Not interested in becoming an officer or finding an old lady. He just wants to hangout with his brothers and ride with the bikers. No Commitment! Alex has left her abusive husband and taken her son where he should be safe. The husband, being a detective, can follow her wherever she goes. Unbeknown to Alex. She moves across states, and now her most important job is to find a job. This is another strong independent woman who is determined to make it on her own. Get her son safe and raise him to be a respectable man. That is all you get from me, no spoilers will be seen here. This author has once again given us a hair raising fast paced suspenseful story. This is one of those times when I wish I could give more than 5☆’s. This story is an add on to the others in this series. I recommend you start with book 1 and work your way to this the 4th book in the series. Get to know the other characters in this series and follow along. You won’t be disappointed, but you will give your emotions a workout. I am looking forward to listening to book 5 in this series.

Just when I thought I couldn’t love this author and series any more than I already did. Boom I start listening to them through audible and my hearts just explodes with each book that I listen to. The narrators do an amazing job of bringing the characters to life and keeping your attention. They change their tones with each character and I feel like I’m right there in the story. They make it feel so real.  The twists and turns  still had me on the edge of my seat.  Get ready to be taken on one heck of a ride with this book. So if you haven’t already started this series  I highly recommend listening/reading this book.  I can assure you you won’t be disappointed.  I’m a huge fan of not only this author but of the Romance/MC genre. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in this series.
